I used to work for a blood bank. Blood donations drop this time of year because of bad weather. While I agree that the Red Cross is a huge problem, we need all of our hospitals adequately stocked with all types of blood at all times.
I forgot the statistics, but the Red Cross collects the highest percentage of all blood collected in the US. On a bright note, all the independent blood banks hate the Red Cross. Hate them. lol

I know a Mexican woman who said that child abductions are such a huge problem in Mexico that they can't let their children outside alone. The abductors would sometimes leave note a on the door of the child's home thanking the family for the child because they (the thug) will receive a large amount of money from someone who needs a kidney, liver, or whatever. So if anyone every tries to tell you those abductions are bullshit, it's not, it's a lucrative business for thugs. Oh, wait, my bad…. I should have said "dreamers."
You might know this already. I'm just reinforcing the importance of getting the message out there because it's happening in the US as well.
