Southern Vancouver Island, from Bramberton to Victoria, has had 40 earthquakes in 20 years. 25 of those were in the last 2 years.

Southwest Iceland (everything west of Reykjavik), has had 425 quakes in the last 20 years. 386 of those (90%) were in the last 2 years.

The agricultural area west of Granada, Spain had 909 quakes in 20 years. 846 (93%) were in the last year.

The only areas I've found this pattern does not hold true are those with very little activity anyway, like Canada and Africa.
