The problem you have with all of this is that you do not understand the difference between something "we" say and a prediction.
Imagine, if you will, a child who insists that because their mother/father is not around, nothing bad will happen if they shoot each other with the pellet guns. What you were told is not some kind of nostradamus prediction, it is a principle etched into the fabric of your reality.
The thing is, there are those of us who can grasp such concepts - and those who don't believe in them. A bird that has yet to comprehend the existence of a glass window.
In some cases, it is an act of pure defiance - a bird which refuses to accept the fact that the glass will stop it every time.
In most cases, it is simple ignorance. The mayfly effect, children born amid flight who have no knowledge or heed of the ground below. After all, why would we choose be stuck to our seats when we can create antigravity by simply pitching the nose down? How silly our parents must have been. Old ways of thinking need to be thrown out. We can float like gods forever!
