I gotta workfag hard today but I gotta say something about these three posts, anons - the heart transplant and the "amazing" increase in organ donations... something is amiss here.

TRUE STORY - Just played out in the last two weeks. Two husbands of two completely unrelated "friends" on socials both went into hospital two weeks ago. One had blood clot and died, the other had blood clot and got on the list for heart transplant.

I'm thinking--OK, they both had the vax. This sucks. I feel bad... Blah, blah, blah

But then it gets weird. The one who lived needs a heart transplant. In ONE DAY they have a donor. Family is so not concerned about this amazing gift of a heart, still hopeful that he won't need transplant, THEY SAY NO THANK YOU.

Two days go by, nope. He really does need a heart. ONE DAY LATER he's in surgery with a new heart.

Is this how it happens these days? Because I was under the impression that the wait is real and finding one match over a period of weeks or months is iffy, but finding TWO in three days???

This is not how this works. This is not how any of this works.

(Until now, I guess)
