Lately I've been leaning toward the 'multiple alien races' theory. And I've always beleived that in the past these were explained as 'demons' or what have you. It would explain several things:

1. Why the Nazi's seemed to have the tech before we did

1. Why our tech seems different from theirs (triangle vs. bell / disk)

1. Why some folks are convinced UFO's are from ayyyys and some are convinced they are from Earth…why not both?
