China successfully LAUNCHES first astronauts to new space station (Watch!) The Shenzou-12 is the first manned mission in 5 years for China – as the country expands its near-Earth presence and rivals the US for leadership in orbital space. The spacecraft successfully docked with the country’s unfinished space station on Thursday – three more crewed missions are forecast, for an expected completion date of year-end 2022.
