Baofeng are cheap-ass Chinese ham band radios.ZEROvoice encryption capabilities, only squelch identity keys. Any other radio will have the squelch opened when a transmission is detected. The "key" is likely just a ctcss or similar dtmf string code so that other non coded squelch won't disturb the operation between each radio.

I repeat:ANYother radio will still be able to hear the non-encrypted speech as clear as a bell!

But; then it's NOT the radio that is encrypted! The radio is cheap ass! It has a processor that is used to control the display and the frequency synth + the squelch codes. The transmission, encrypted by any other means, is still not encrypted by the radio.

SO

Yes, those files could be encrypted but they will not be encrypted by the Baofeng radio!

If you ant to be right, tell me and I'll just tell you you're right.

You'll still be wrong but if it stops you from continuing to be a dumbass; I'll do it!
