Injuredanon with a few thoughts re the healthcare industry-

 

  1. There is a theme out there that even patriots are far too willing to swallow, and that is that the ridiculous cost is due to the horrible insurance companies. That the reason cash/no insurance pricing is so much cheaper is due to the hassle doctors have to go through to get paid. I submit that it takes two to tango, and providers will take as much as they can get, especially wh er n the patient is not involved in payment (yes, I'm pro HSA).

 

  1. Doctors should not be allowed to have ownership in businesses they refer patients to- x-ray, lab tests, MRI, physical therapy, drugs, etc. It's unethical and rampant.

 

  1. Physical therapy is snake oil, to some extent. No one but the patient knows what causes pain and what doesn't. Therapists are paid to push you to do what is painful, and at least with joint injuries, that's not how to heal.
