Indiana 3.8 quake today.

2.9 miles NE of Montezuma, IN

6.5 miles N of Mecca, IN

3.8 miles N of Arabia, IN

20 mile N of Markle Mill

"Markle Mill was the longest operating gristmill east of the Mississippi, and is rumored to have been part of the Underground Railroad, but all that remains of the original 1816 structure are the dam and parts of the foundation. The ghost girl who has been seen here is believed to have been someone who passed away while using the now-closed underground tunnels."

Arabia, IN is nothing but woods surrounded by farmland. Wikipedia is the only thing I find on the 'net, and they show the following detailed history-

"Arabia was probably founded in the 1820s."

Draw a line straight north 118 miles and you're at Hobart, IN

On the way you pass by towns named Tangier, Lebanon, and Hebron.

"The small town of Hobart became home to an infamous mobster tied to Al Capone, Michael Carrozzo. This small town, then only home to less than 6,000 Hoosiers, offered safe haven for the mobster and his mafia allies, away from the action of Chicago, and was rumored to draw many of his friends, including Capone himself."

Abraham Markle was born in Ulster County, New York on October 26, 1770. He spent the early part of his life in the Hudson Valley which was at that time a battleground for the American Revolution.2 Abraham continued the family tradition of milling by building and operating a mill on Cascadilla Creek in the present city of Ithaca, New York.3While in New York, Markle became a Mason and bore a certificate declaring him "An Honest Brother"

During the Civil War Markle’s Mill played an important role in the effort to save the Union as well as the effort to free the slaves. The mill was used for storage of ammunition and was the headquarters of the home guard of which Fredrick Markle served as commanding officer. Markle was a friend of Lincoln’s and corresponded with him frequently.36 The Markle home was also an important stopover on the underground railroad. There were rumors of secret passageways and hidden rooms that were only opened at night. Most of the fleeing slaves were probably hidden in caves in the hills behind the mill. Pieces of clothing and cooking utensils were found in some of the caves.
