Trump team, broadly speaking, probably had a plan to take over those "powerful enemies" with the less collateral damage in the population, but they have to be caught doing so (to "show them").
The key point in Plato's Allegory of the cave is when the slave who saw the light COMES BACK the cave in order to "explain" the chained ones.
That is the duty of the Philosopher.
Some wanted to remain chained despite the explanations.
