Information is a thing, it's a substance, it can be qualified. Good information is true, bad information can be anything else. Often it is a lesser truth. Which is why we say, "whom the devil would deceive he tells not a lie but a lesser truth."
If we think of information as something like water, pure water is just that, and it can be lightly or heavily contaminated with visible and invisible contaminants.
Our information is heavily contaminated. It's about as dirty as Information can get and still maintain basic social function. In fact contaminants in our information are causing pathological behaviors in a large and growing segment of our population.
We want the purest information possible. The future is a true information society and to introduce false information, even accidently causes alarms to go off.
Information appears to be layer or stratified. On the surface is the overt meaning. Then there are multiple layers that go as far as our personal capacity will allow. We all know there 's lots of lies in our news, and some of us know about the subliminal and subsonic embeds that deliver messages below our threshold of conscious awareness.
There are deeper layers still, like TCIP packet wrappers, below the symbolic levels there is something else, which is IDK what and that layer has been poisoned, it looked like "-" dashes, and they weren't alive but they hated life.
