Look at PG movies, even to this day…They have a thing with the violence. You can't show too much violence against a person…UNLESS they have been shown to be an alien just disguised as a human.
The last X-Men movie is a perfect example. The aliens get stabbed, necks snapped, etc
I forgot where I read about it, where violence against aliens/creatures is totally fine.
