Tehran, 31 May: In an interview with a Fars News Agency reporter for

defence affairs, Brig-Gen Pilot Aziz Nasirzadeh, deputy commander of the

Air Force of the Military for coordination, referred to the successfully

held Velayat-e 89 war game and said: "Three bases from the Air Force of

the Military participated in the Velayat-e 89 war game. They supported

the surface and coastal defence forces. Moreover, they played an active

role in technical transport and information gathering flights. All these

missions were carried out successfully."

 

Nasirzadeh said that Mirage aircrafts were used at the war game and

added: "It was the first time that Mirage aircrafts were used at a real

war game and they successfully destroyed a number of targets."

 

The deputy commander of the Air Force of the Military for coordination

referred to proper functioning of the Sadaf [Shell] radio listening and

radar [surveillance] aircraft and said that it was an efficient means

for information gathering. He added: "The Sadaf aircraft had an active

role at the war game."

 

He said: "The Sadaf aircraft is carrying out its mission everyday and

the operation zone of the aircraft is the entire borders of the

country."
