Theresa Ann Bridgeman and Elizabeth Lynn George are to be married Sunday at the Healdsburg Shed, a restaurant and events space in Healdsburg, Calif. The officiant will be Chief Judge Theodore A. McKee of the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals, with chambers in Philadelphia and for whom Ms. George was a clerk from 2010 to 2011.

 

Dr. Bridgeman (left), 33, is known as Tess. She is to become a deputy legal adviser to the National Security Council this month, and will be on assignment there from the State Department Office of the Legal Adviser, in Washington. She graduated with distinction from Stanford and received a law degree magna cum laude from New York University. She also received a doctoral degree in international relations from Oxford University in England, where she was a Rhodes scholar.

 

She is a daughter of Diane L. Bridgeman and Bruce Bridgeman of Santa Cruz, Calif., where her mother is a clinical psychologist. Her father is a professor of psychology and psychobiology at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

 

Ms. George, 33, is a professional staff member and legal counsel to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, and is on assignment there from the national security division of the Justice Department in Washington, where she is a staff counsel. She graduated summa cum laude and received a law degree magna cum laude from New York University, where the couple met.

 

She is a daughter of Betsy Martin George and S. David George of Marietta, S.C. Her mother retired as a second-grade teacher at La France Elementary School in Pendleton, S.C. Her father retired as the owner of Rapid Lube of Anderson, an oil-change provider in Anderson, S.C.
