The March for Jesus is a gathering of faith-filled followers of Jesus Christ that takes place in different cities across the world. The March started in the United Kingdom in 1987 and has been happening in Calgary for over a decade.

In previous years the gathering has drawn crowds ranging from 200 to 2,000 people. Aside from the occasional run-in with counter-protesters, the Calgary march has generally carried on without incident, but this year questions arose early as to whether overreaching COVID restrictions would hinder the event.

This concern was magnified by several high-profile attendees, namely the Pawlowski family, minus Pastor Artur, who is presently touring in the United States.

They were joined by Pastor Peter Reicher, who was also briefly arrested and subsequently released after he took over leadership of Artur’s church while he awaited his court date. Interestingly, Pastor Peter shared that he originally met the Pawlowski family at March for Jesus many years ago.

Roughly 150 gathered for the March, among them many pastors from various Calgary area churches. The march proceeded from Millennium Park to Olympic Plaza with frequent stops for songs, worship, and even dance. Business patrons in crowded Stephen Avenue patios looked upon the processing group with a mix of supportive cheers, bewilderment, and occasionally evident opposition. The mood was joyous and festive throughout the entire event. Pastor Peter even remarked that this was the first March for Jesus that he can recall which faced no opposition from protesters.

Police were on hand in large numbers, which set many on edge, given the ongoing persecution of Christians in Calgary at their hands. However, the officers seemed, at least for the day, to simply be facilitating the peaceful gathering. We will closely monitor police activity in the coming days if any arrests occur as a result of the march.

Just prior to the March for Jesus, we were on site as the imprisoned Pastor Tim Stephens’ Fairview Baptist congregation once again gathered for worship at an undisclosed location. Despite a police helicopter flyover, their worship also carried on without interference.

The bell finally tolls for the gross homeless encampment at Toronto’s Trinity Bellwoods Park

Trinity Bellwoods Park in downtown Toronto is typically a blissful place to visit. But that’s changed in the last year or so, primarily due to two reasons: COVID and homeless encampments.

Indeed, last year the city marked the park with hundreds of social distancing circles, something that was repeated again this year. The idea is that law-abiding taxpayers visiting the park must stay in these circles at a capped number — or face $880 fines.

But get this: if you erect a tent or even build a wooden shelter, the law no longer applies.

For several months, authorities have been turning a blind eye to vagrants illegally occupying the park — some of whom are dangerous and/or mentally ill.

Little wonder the tent city at Trinity Bellwoods has continued to grow. And although the city posted flyers months ago warning the vagrants to leave by April 6, it was all bark and no bite given that the deadline came and went and the city did nothing.

But on June 22, it appeared that the putrid party had come to an end. More than 100 police officers and security guards descended upon the park to take down the illicit tents and tell the vagrants to vamoose. In many respects, they were doing the occupiers a favour given the city has enough shelter beds for all of the Trinity Bellwoods occupiers.

But amazingly, law enforcement had their hands full — not just with homeless people who didn’t want to leave, but also with a crowd of about 200 supporters of the homeless people, a diverse group that ranged from champagne socialists to violent Antifa types (some peace officers were actually assaulted by these punks).

There were also homeless advocates there, but get this: they were advocating against these people being put in shelters!

That’s right, homeless advocates these days are actually advocating for homeless people to remain… homeless!

But why? There is space at shelters (and even hotels that the city has leased to house homeless people).

Who wouldn’t want a roof over their head and indoor plumbing and three square meals a day? Who wants to live outdoors in unsanitary and unhealthy conditions?

And what about the property owners who live around Trinity Bellwoods Park? Why must they put up with hobos urinating and defecating and discarding used drug needles, even in the children’s playground area?

But that’s how the progressive left rolls in sanctuary city Hogtown these days — it’s all about penalizing the makers and rewarding the takers.

Liberals plan to introduce new hate speech bill before summer break

The Liberals plan to release a new bill targeting online hate speech before the House of Commons breaks for the Summer.

According to the National Post, Justice Minister David Lametti plans to table a bill that will “amend the Criminal Code and the Canadian Human Rights Act and to make related amendments to another Act (hate propaganda, hate crimes and hate speech).”

It is not immediately clear if the legislation will include regulation of internet content or only cover types of hate speech which the government consulted on last year.

The proposal comes as the Liberals try to pass the controversial internet regulation bill, C-10, which has been attacked for limiting free speech online.

Speaking at the Banff World Media Festival, Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault hinted at the forthcoming legislation, going so far as to admit the bill will be divisive.

“Now, this is going to be controversial. People think that C-10 was controversial. Wait till we table this legislation,” he said.

Lametti’s bill has the potential of reviving an extremely controversial former law — Section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act.

Section 13 was heavily criticized for going beyond hate speech, effectively prohibiting speech online that was perceived as offensive. At the time, the section was widely condemned by civil rights groups.

Section 13 was repealed in 2013 thanks to a private member bill from a Conservative MP, but Lametti’s parliamentary secretary, Arif Virani, confirmed that the Liberals are examining the section to see if any of it should be returned to.

True North fellow and free speech expert Lindsay Shepherd says government hate speech laws inevitably end up censoring legitimate free speech which some find offensive, adding that social media platforms already censor dissenting opinions.

“It all goes back to this: we don’t want the government defining online hate, because it will inevitably cast too wide of a net. We know that a Reddit forum for gender critical feminism was banned. A pro-life news site called LifeSiteNews had their YouTube channel banned. Rebel News was kicked off of PayPal,” she said.

“This shows us that if the views you’re expressing fall outside the liberal-progressive orthodoxy, you can and will be shut out — and with a return of section 13 or some other similar online hate speech law, Canadians who express non-politically correct opinions could potentially face fines or legal trouble.”

In 2019, Shepherd testified at the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights on regulation of hate speech online.

Warren Buffett Resigns From Gates Foundation Board

In another potential indicator of how public opinion has turned against Bill Gates in the weeks since he and his now ex-wife Melinda Gates disclosed their divorce plans, financier Warren Buffett has resigned as a trustee of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Buffett's position on the board was a major PR coup for the foundation, which is one of the world's biggest charitable enterprises.

Buffett, now 90, announced his decision to step down from the Gates Foundation board in a statement that also announced he had reached the halfway point in giving his Berkshire Hathaway shares to charity. Buffett gave away another $4.1 billion in Berkshire shares to give foundations.

In a statement shared with CNBC, Buffett said he was resigning from the Gates Foundation board "just as I have done at all corporate boards other than Berkshire's".

"For years I have been a trustee – an inactive trustee at that – of only one recipient of my funds, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. I am now resigning from that post, just as I have done at all corporate boards other than Berkshire’s," Buffett said in a statement. "The CEO of BMG is Mark Suzman, an outstanding recent selection who has my full support. My goals are 100% in sync with those of the foundation, and my physical participation is in no way needed to achieve these goals."

While it's true that Buffett has slowly been pulling back from his non-Berkshire activities for years now, the timing of his departure from the Gates Foundation board is certainly curious. As Buffett himself concedes, he was an "inactive" member of the board. The board includes two other members, Bill and Melinda. Maybe Buffett simply couldn't stomach the awkwardness at board meetings.

Melinda Gates reportedly divorced her husband over his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, something that Buffett has been mum about - though Warren Buffett was never tied to Epstein like many other titans of American business and finance have been.

Buffett has contributed $27 billion to the Gates Foundation over the past 15 years. Mark Suzman, the foundation’s chief executive officer, told employees last month that he was in talks to strengthen "the long-term sustainability and stability of the foundation."

Suzman "is an outstanding recent selection who has my full support," Buffett said. Suzman has insisted that both Bill and Melinda remain committed to the Foundation even after their divorce.

An Amazon series released at the height of the COVID pandemic revolved around a plot where a virus is deliberately released and then a vaccine offered to a terrified public as a form of population control

Utopia is a remake of the UK Channel 4 series originally released in 2013 and stars Jessica Rothe, Rainn Wilson, and John Cusack.

The plot centers on a group of comic book fans who discover an unpublished manuscript for a graphic novel which turns out to be a real life plot to fake a global pandemic in order to thin the earth’s population.

People are killed or poisoned to convince them that the virus is real before a traumatized population is convinced to take a vaccine which sterilizes the vast majority of them, lowering the planet’s population to just 500 million people total in a single generation.

The comic book fans are hunted down by a shadowy deep state organization after attempting to expose the conspiracy.

The edit of Utopia was only finished in April 2020 at the height of the first wave of the pandemic and was subsequently released in September 2020.

Indeed, the plot of the series is so close to what some “conspiracy theorists” claim is the real agenda behind the COVID-19 pandemic, that outlets like Slate said it should have never been released.

“It’s impossible to enjoy a story where the heroes persuade themselves that shadowy forces have manufactured a phony pandemic to trick people into taking a dangerous vaccine when those exact beliefs are helping to kill hundreds of thousands of Americans,” wrote Matthew Dessem.

The New York Times also reported on how author and showrunner Gillian Flynn knew that Utopia had “unsettling COVID parallels,” but that she wrote it before she knew anything about QAnon.

Suffice to say, the show was canceled in November 2020 after Amazon opted not to commission a second season.

Maybe it was just too close to the bone.

The woman had a negative COVID test result, but was delayed in crossing into Canada, and thus ordered to have another test or stay in a quarantine hotel.

June 23, 2021 (Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms) – The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms is pleased to announce that the federal government has dropped a ticket for $3,450 issued against a woman who travelled to Costa Rica and returned with three rescued dogs. The client, “Sunshine” (not her real name) and her three pups Bella, Sparky and Pablo, crossed into Canada by land after flying into Seattle.

Early in 2021, the woman travelled to Costa Rica for medical reasons and while there came across three sick and abandoned dogs, one of whom had been hit by a car. The woman was determined to find loving homes for the dogs in Canada. She flew with them to Seattle because flight restrictions prevented her from flying directly into Canada.

As required by Transport Canada, the woman had obtained a negative PCR test but was delayed while attempting to cross the border with the dogs.

When she presented herself at the border, the government agents told her that she would have go to Washington to get another PCR test or stay in a domestic quarantine hotel because her test had expired 24 hours earlier. Due to the difficulty of finding a hotel that would care for the three dogs, the woman decided to cross the border by road and was issued a $3450 ticket for not presenting a valid PCR test, and for refusing to stay at one of the federal government’s federal isolation facilities.

“The rules for returning travelers are not only arbitrary and oppressive, they are also devoid of compassion and flexibility,” stated Jay Cameron, Litigation Director with the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms. “Our client is a not a health risk to the country. There is no rational reason why she cannot quarantine in her own home as opposed to in one of the federal government’s internment facilities.”

Justice Centre lawyers appeared in Federal Court in the first week of June on behalf of eleven clients who are challenging the government’s policy of forcing returning Canadians into a federally approved hotel at their own expense. The Justice Centre maintains that sequestering travelers in federal facilities is a violation of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The Federal Court ruled that forcing returning Canadians to be confined to federal facilities against their will is not an infringement of their Charter rights. The decision will be appealed.

“The forced detention of returning Canadian air travelers in federal facilities is arbitrary, unnecessary, and totalitarian,” states Justice Centre Litigation Director, Jay Cameron.

“These unconstitutional hotel quarantines were imposed on Canadians without parliamentary scrutiny or debate by a government that has repeatedly demonstrated it has little respect for the Charter of the democratic process. Canadians across the country are anxiously waiting for the judiciary to impose limits on government overreach of this type as has happened repeatedly in other countries around the world,” adds Mr. Cameron.

June 22, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Twitter suspended National File on Monday after the conservative news website posted about the death of a teenager who recently received a COVID-19 vaccine.

National File had reported on a viral Twitter thread by Tami Burages, the aunt of a 13-year-old Michigan boy, Jacob Clynick. Burages said that her nephew died just days after getting a second dose of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine and that an initial autopsy revealed unexpected heart issues.

“A week ago today my brother’s 13-year-old son had his 2nd covid shot,” she tweeted on Sunday, posting a picture of her nephew’s vaccination card. “Less than 3 days later he died.” Burages said that his “initial autopsy results (done Friday) were that his heart was enlarged and there was some fluid surrounding it.” “He had no known health problems,” she added. “Was on no medications.”

“If Jacob had not received the 2nd shot, we believe he would be alive today,” Burages, who describes herself as “pro-vaccine,” continued. She tagged the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), saying that the agency “needs to investigate this.” Burages has since deleted the thread, which quickly gained tens of thousands of likes and retweets.

Hundreds of cases of potentially life-threatening heart disorders after COVID-19 vaccination have been reported in young males, the CDC announced earlier this month. The agency was scheduled to hold an emergency meeting about the reports last week, but postponed it due to Juneteenth. Israeli authorities already have said that the heart issues, which appear to occur disproportionately in men, are likely linked to the vaccines.

Three hours after National File tweeted about their article on Burages’ posts, Twitter locked the website out of its account for 12 hours. The Big Tech platform said that National File’s tweet “violated Twitter Rules” for “spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19.”

“Twitter’s censorship here is as repugnant as it is ridiculous,” National File editor-in-chief Tom Pappert said shortly after the ban. “National File does not publish medical misinformation. We published a report containing direct quotes from a woman who — using Twitter — expressed concern about the death of her 13-year-old nephew, Jacob Clynick, which occurred after he received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine,” he said.

Pappert noted that National File’s account was locked even though Burages’ tweets were not deleted. “It appears Twitter is attempting to censor news outlets for the crime of reporting on the concerns of a recently bereaved family member,” he said.

Twitter restored National File’s account later on Monday, claiming the account was suspended “in error,” National File said. Nevertheless, when National File reporter Jack Hadfield celebrated the reversal on Twitter, he likewise was banned from the social media platform for 12 hours, allegedly for violating COVID-19 guidelines.

“How on Earth can Twitter reverse the suspension of a news outlet, and then lock out that same reporter from his personal account, for using almost identical language in their tweets? If this is yet another ‘error’ on Twitter’s part, it is certainly concerning that these ‘errors’ only ever seem to go in one direction,” Hadfield, whose account also has since been restored, said on Tuesday.

Twitter has banned numerous, often conservative, users, including the House Oversight Committee and congressional personnel, only to claim to have done so “in error.”

“Somebody wanted to kill us”: Lug nuts allegedly loosened on Pastor Artur's truck

The Pawlowski family has been subject to extensive harassment and even criminal activity in the months since Pastor Artur’s daunting roadside arrest. Beyond the brutal treatment endured by Pastor Artur during his arrest and the time he spent in jail, potentially the most dramatic experiences have come at the hands of fellow citizens. Pastor Artur has repeatedly stated that Premier Jason Kenney, Health Minister Tyler Shandro and the mainstream media, among others, are responsible for stoking the hatred that has led to these acts of violence, and his wife Marzena agrees.

The discrimination commenced with acts of vandalism at Pastor Artur’s church, including nails, garbage, horse manure and dog feces being spread throughout the church parking lot, in addition to an alleged attempted break-in at the church. Soon after, a fire was started at the Pawlowski residence in the middle of the night. One week later, Pastor Artur was shopping with his daughter at a grocery store when he was allegedly assaulted.

Most recently, the Pawlowskis informed us that they suspect that someone loosened the bolts on their truck.

Fortunately, no one was injured, but all of the bolts on one wheel came off at once, very suspiciously. Marzena also relayed that police suspected the tire may also have been slashed. This apparent act of extremely dangerous vandalism occurred one day prior to the March for Jesus in Calgary, and Marzena would have been driving with her children on Sunday had a friend not happened to have taken the vehicle to wash it for her prior to the march.

Pastor Artur has been in the United States on a speaking engagement and so was not at home during this incident. We obtained footage of the Pawlowskis’ encounter with police when they visited the scene to investigate. The officers repeatedly asked what Marzena wanted them to do, which was rather alarming considering the string of targeted attacks against the family. Marzena asked them to do their jobs and open an investigation. The police keep saying, “we are just doing our jobs” when they are arresting pastors — ostensibly this is not the case when the Pawlowskis call.

If even half of these alleged incidents prove to be true, this is targeted discrimination on a level that merits a meaningful response from the authorities. What the Pawlowski family has received in response is relative indifference. Politicians who rightly rushed to Twitter to condemn vandalism at other religious institutions have been utterly silent in their condemnation of outright bigotry and violence directed against the Pawlowski family.

WHO removes statement advising against COVID-19 vaccinations for children from website

The World Health Organization quietly changed its website this week to remove a bolded statement advising against children receiving COVID-19 vaccines.

The statement, which had been circulating online, said the following in bold:

"Children should not be vaccinated for the moment."

The sub-headline, which can be found in screenshots and archived versions, appears to have been removed from the active page along with a sentence stating that there is not yet enough evidence to recommend the vaccines for children, opting for a rewording further down the page. The old version read:

"There is not yet enough evidence on the use of vaccines against COVID-19 in children to make recommendations for children to be vaccinated against COVID-19."

While the updated version now shows:

"More evidence is needed on the use of the different COVID-19 vaccines in children to be able to make general recommendations on vaccinating children against COVID-19.

WHO's Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) has concluded that the Pfizer/BionTech vaccine is suitable for use by people aged 12 years and above. Children aged between 12 and 15 who are at high risk may be offered this vaccine alongside other priority groups for vaccination. Vaccine trials for children are ongoing and WHO will update its recommendations when the evidence or epidemiological situation warrants a change in policy."

Nova Scotia MLA tells Trans-Canada blockaders to stand down; premier slams “unacceptable” border protest

More than 100 transport trucks are backed up at the Nova Scotia–New Brunswick border, as the local NS MLA who called for the blockade yesterday asks protesters to stand down.

Yesterday, MLA Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin called on her constituents to join her at the provincial border to block the highway in protest. The shutdown is in response to Nova Scotia's Liberal government's COVID-19 travel rules, which were changed suddenly today to deny unvaccinated New Brunswick residents entry to Nova Scotia without isolation.

Progressive Conservative MLA Smith-McCrossin (Cumberland North) represents the border region between the two maritime provinces, and the Trans Canada Highway 104 is the main point of entry.

The highway remained closed as of this morning, according to a social media post from the local RCMP.

Police on scene are blocking traffic.

This morning, at 11:39 a.m. AT., Smith-McCrossin updated her Facebook profile to announce that she had been waiting for Premier Iain Rankin at his office in downtown Halifax since 8:30 a.m. AT and would not leave “until the Premier meets with [her] on your behalf”. She also encouraged people who are “keeping the TransCanada highway closed to allow traffic to move for everyone's safety” and to head to Halifax two hours from the border to join her on Thursday.

Several minutes later, at 11:53 a.m. AT., the premier uploaded a message to his Facebook profile to denounce the blockade and asked residents to give the government and their chief medical officer Dr. Robert Strang another week:

The Trans-Canada is blocked today because of the reckless actions of MLA Elizabeth Smith-McCrossin. Truck drivers are not getting across the border; the hospital in Amherst is now only offering essential services; & schools are not able to open.

This is unacceptable and the MLA must tell her protesters to stand down.

I ask all Nova Scotians to trust public health for one more week as we get more doses in arms and protect our province. Let’s give Dr. Strang and public health the confidence we have for the past 16 months.

There are two land border entries connecting Nova Scotia to the rest of the country. The main entry is the Trans-Canada just outside of Amherst. A second, smaller entry in Tidnish Bridge is reportedly also blocked, but protesters are allegedly letting some travellers through.

Two Catholic churches on indigenous land in British Columbia were set on fire recently, in what police are deeming a “suspicious” incident. The fires occurred early Monday morning, which happened to coincide with National Indigenous Peoples Day in Canada.

On yesterday's Rebel News DAILY Livestream, David Menzies and Sheila Gunn Reid shared their reactions to this tragic occurrence. Conservative Party leader Erin O'Toole tweeted his thoughts on the potential arson, only to see his comments section filled with people essentially suggesting the churches 'had it coming.'

Sheila pointed out the hypocrisy in the way these responses are treated on social media, saying:

I know that if anybody else had tweeted that about a mosque fire on Twitter, not only would you be banned from Twitter — your descendants would be banned from Twitter. Your children, and your children's children. You would never exist on Twitter and you would probably have a hate crimes investigation against you.

But because this is an arson against a Christian church, that sort of rhetoric is perfectly fine on the internet.

Senator pledges to stop Bill C-10 following Liberal “kangaroo court” vote

Senator Pamela Wallin pledged on Tuesday to do everything within her power to stop Bill C-10 from being rushed through the Senate and becoming law before parliamentarians go on summer recess.

“At 1:30 am this morning the House of Commons passed Bill C-10. Now, with just two days left on the calendar the Senate is being asked to pass it. No scrutiny, no oversight- we haven’t even seen the secret amendments they passed. ‘Kangaroo court’ would be an understatement,” tweeted Wallin.

“The government has had 6 years to pass legislation it wants. It is not our job in the Senate to rubber stamp and give up our constitutional responsibilities just because they want fodder for an election- especially if it means killing free speech.”

Bill C-10 passed its third reading in the House of Commons with 196 votes for the legislation and 112 votes against. Liberal MPs were joined by their NDP, Green Party and Bloc Quebecois colleagues in supporting the motion while Conservative MPs opposed the bill.

“I will do everything I can to make sure this bill isn’t rammed through. Standing up to Bill C-10 is standing up against censorship and standing up for free speech. If we don’t say NO now, it will be too late,” continued Wallin.

During a heated debate on the legislation in the House of Commons, Conservative MPs accused the Trudeau government of politicizing the law and threatening the free speech rights of Canadians.

“The bill had several flaws and we were in a hurry to find common ground, but sadly, the government amended it along the way. I believe that is where the problem lies. The government, without notice and despite a pretense of collaboration, was paving the way so that social media could become official broadcasters with all the consequences that could have,” Conservative MP Alain Reyes told the House of Commons.

“Even worse, the government’s willingness to play partisan politics, by framing the issue as being between freedom of expression and the artists themselves, offended many people. Under no circumstance could we let the Liberals get away with that. We will always work to protect freedom of expression.”

Other senators including Conservative Senator Leo Housakos have indicated that they do not intend to oblige the Liberals and rush the bill into law.

Civil liberties group urges Liberals to end use of facial recognition tech

The Canadian Civil Liberties Association (CCLA) is calling on the Liberal Party of Canada (LPC) to immediately end its practice of using facial recognition technology to verify the identities of voters during the nomination process.

According to the Globe and Mail, the CCLA sent a letter to Liberals asking them to “cease and desist” their use of the invasive technology.

CCLA executive director Michael Bryant and privacy and surveillance program director Brenda McPhail noted that the Liberal’s “use of the controversial technology takes unfair advantage of its exemption from Canadian privacy laws, and sends the wrong message to municipal, provincial and federal election officials that this technology is ready for prime time.”

“By using it for the purposes of nominating candidates for federal election, LPC is tacitly endorsing an unreliable, racist technology,” the letter read.

Currently the Liberal Party’s official website does not make any mention of facial recognition technology or how identities are verified.

“As soon as a nomination voter is verified, associated information is deleted immediately and automatically, and not retained,” Liberal Party spokesperson Braedan Caley told the Globe and Mail.

The facial recognition technology that the party employs is executed by the California-based company Jumio.

According to Bryant, there is a lack of clarity and transparency when it comes to how the information is collected, stored and used.

“This is the problem: there are so many unanswered questions and unknowns because this is an entirely unregulated technology,” Bryant told the Globe and Mail.

“Its so private, its so unique, it works because it creates a code that identifies you, just like a finger print is a code that identifies.”

EU to take legal action against Hungary’s anti-pedophilia bill

European Commission Presiden von der Leyen called the bill ‘a shame,’ claiming it ‘goes against all the values, the fundamental values of the European Union.’

BRUSSELS, June 23, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has announced that the European Union will take initial steps against a Hungarian anti-pedophilia bill that bans promotion of LGBT ideology to children.

Von der Leyen said in a press conference on Wednesday that she will use “all the powers of the Commission” against the legislation, which was passed by the Hungarian parliament last week.

“I’ve instructed my responsible commissioners to write a letter to the Hungarian authorities concerning or expressing our legal concerns before the bill enters into force,” she said, though she did not announce other specific measures. Justice commissioner Didier Reynders and market commissioner Thierry Breton will be preparing the letter to Hungary, according to POLITICO.

Hungary’s sweeping new anti-pedophilia law prohibits showing pornographic content or depictions of homosexuality or transgenderism to minors under 18. It includes other child protection provisions, like regulations on sexual education, tougher rules against child pornography, and the creation of a new sex offender registry.

Von der Leyen called the bill “a shame,” claiming it “goes against all the values, the fundamental values of the European Union.” “So, I will use all the powers of the Commission to ensure that the rights of all EU citizens are guaranteed,” she added. Her comments made no mention of the religious and political rights of majority-Christian Hungary, whose conservative supermajority in parliament passed the child protection bill with a wide majority last Tuesday.

The European Commission’s initial action comes as left-wing governments of several European states clamor for retaliation against Hungary. 17 countries have joined a letter initiated by Belgium calling on the Commission to take Hungary to the European Court of Justice, if necessary, to negate the anti-pedophilia bill, the Belgian government announced yesterday. Historically Catholic Ireland, Italy, and Spain have joined the statement, as have France and Germany.

If Budapest ignores the European Commission’s letter, the Commission can start an infringement procedure to try to stop the bill once it takes effect. If the Hungarian government then refuses to comply, Hungary could be tried in the Court of Justice and could face financial sanctions.

The European Union already has begun Article 7 proceedings against both Hungary and Poland, which have the potential to strip the countries of their EU voting rights. European ministers were slated to meet with officials from the two conservative Eastern European nations regarding the sanctions procedure on Tuesday, EUobserver reported.

Christian conservative artist Bryson Gray has song deleted by Spotify

Hip-hop artist and Christian conservative Bryson Gray has had his song "Safe Space feat. Patriot J" removed by streaming platform Spotify without apparent cause.

Gray, who has enjoyed recent success with his album Bold as a Lion: Season 1 reaching the top 10 on iTunes hip-hop charts, appears to be the first major artist to have content removed by Spotify.

"I've been in the music industry for a long time and I've never experienced anything as crazy as this," Gray told Rebel News.

"It's crazy, but I guess it is what it is," he said.

According to Gray, after contesting the removal of his song, he contacted Spotify who told him to seek answers from his distributor TuneCore.

TuneCore made headlines in early 2021 when they blocked the distribution of Christian artist Sean Feucht to digital platforms, a decision they later reversed.

However, Gray says this isn't the case for him, as his song has only been removed from Spotify and not other digital platforms.

In a screenshot posted to Twitter, TuneCore appears to tell Gray "…this was an internal decision from Spotify, and they reserve the rights to remove content that violates their policies."

In subsequent tweets, Spotify is shown telling Gray to once again reach out to his distributor, and that they are "unable to comment further" on the issue.

Several high-profile artists such as R. Kelly, XXXTentacion and Morgan Wallen have been removed from Spotify's playlists for various reasons such as "hateful conduct," but it doesn't appear at this time that other artists have suffered the same fate as Gray.

Residential school protest reportedly behind vandalism at decommissioned Mennonite church in Saskatchewan

Vandals left broken windows, beer bottles and a note at the old Horse Lake Mennonite Church near Duck Lake, Saskatchewan over the weekend.

The Horse Lake Mennonite Church was decommissioned in a service in 2016 after 74 years and purchased by local farmer Stan Neufeld, who told media that they had lost basically “every window”.

According to LaRongeNow, the vandals left a note inside the church building indicating that the damage was influenced by the reports out of Kamloops that 215 bodies were found near a former residential school:

Neufeld—who has lived in the community for 40 years— says he bought the church so it could remain a ‘keepsake’ for the community, and as somewhere quiet for locals and visitors to continue to go.

“We’ve got a register [guest book] there and there’s people who sign it when they come through. There’s [even] a lady in town who goes there and plays piano once and a while,” he said.

Neufeld said they found empty beer cans among the broken glass inside the church Sunday, and a note that had been left under a rock that suggested the vandalism may have been done as a form of protest against the recent residential school discovery in B.C.

RCMP told paNOW that no arrests have been made in connection to the vandalism, but Neufeld “suggested he had little confidence the ‘kids’ responsible for the damage would be brought to book.”

Neufeld's daughter Shelly Ann described the damage and asked for donations to fix the broken windows in a Facebook post:

On the weekend some people decided to break every single window in our special little church in Horse Lake. We are devastated. We would love to continue our open door policy in our little church for people to feel free to come and play piano, sing praises, read the literature and reminisce in this building that has brought so much hope and love to so many over the years. 85 days of captivity: Alberta government to release GraceLife Church from its temporary jail

After already spending 85 days in captivity, the GraceLife Church building will be returned to the congregation.

The Alberta government has announced it will pack up its temporary church jail, the porta-potties and mall cops, and retreat on July 1.

The church was seized in a dawn raid on April 7, when RCMP, Alberta Health Services, Paladin Security and a fencing company took over the church property after first issuing a closure notice to the church in January. The congregation has continued to meet in secret rotating locations, despite threats of fines and imprisonment.

The church and its pastor, James Coates, received fines after the congregation took a principled stance to oppose the lockdown restrictions on places of worship — refusing to limit capacity, wear masks and social distance, stating that the requirements violated their rights to freedom of expression, religion and assembly.

The church and pastor were both fined thousands of dollars, and Coates spent 35 days in the maximum security Edmonton Remand Centre for failing to comply with public health orders.

Coates stood trial in May and Judge Robert Shaigec had previously ruled that his Charter rights were not violated when he was ticketed back in December.

However, the release of the church property does not signal a change in course in the Alberta government.

The government is moving to stage three of reopening on July 1 and thus lifting most pandemic restrictions. Another pastor, Tim Stephens of Fairview Baptist in Calgary, remains in jail for violating public health orders and his congregation’s building is also in the custody of the province.

Pastor Coates and GraceLife are being represented by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms.

Guelph man who tried to join ISIS walks free due to time served

23-year-old Ikar Mao was sentenced by a federal court to serve 49 months in prison and a 12 month probation period on Wednesday. However, due to his pre-trial detention, the accused will not spend a single day further behind bars.

Mao pleaded guilty to joining the violent terrorist organization ISIS in 2019. As a result of his guilty plea, Crown prosecutors agreed on Monday to drop a second charge against Mao and separate charges against his wife Haleema Mustafa.

“Mao undertook the trip to Turkey in July 2019 with the express purpose of crossing the border into Syria, and eventually moving to ISIS controlled territory,” court documents claim.

“Mao did this with the intention of making himself available to ISIS and/or for the benefit of ISIS.”

Mao and Mustafa were arrested after flying to Turkey in July near the country’s border with Syria. It is believed that Mustafa arranged the trip and paid for the plane tickets which the couple used to fly out of Toronto.

According to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada, charges against Mustafa were dropped after considering “her role, the evidence against her, and the public safety protection assessment.”

Evidence submitted to the court shows that Mao had downloaded an ISIS manual which guided budding extremists on how to migrate to the so-called Islamic State.

Additionally, Mao had purchased several items recommended by the guide before embarking on his journey.

Upon returning to Canada in 2019, Mao was apprehended by RCMP officers and had his electronic devices seized. ISIS propaganda was found on the devices.

According to Public Safety Canada, there are approximately 250 Canadian Extremist Travellers (CETs) currently abroad and within Canada.

“Of the estimated 190 CETs currently abroad, nearly half have travelled to Turkey, Syria and Iraq. The remaining CETs are located in Afghanistan, Pakistan and parts of North and East Africa. These individuals have travelled to support and facilitate extremist activities and, in some cases, directly participate in violence,” writes the Government of Canada.

The Trudeau government wants the Federal Court to intervene and prevent the disclosure of documents regarding the firing of two federal scientists accused of collaborating with China.

Prior to the censure of Public Health Agency of Canada president Iain Stewart on Tuesday, court filings show that Attorney General David Lametti submitted an application declaring that the documents contained “information which if disclosed would be injurious to international relations or national defence or national security.”

House of Commons Speaker Anthony Rota was named as the respondent in the application and the matter could eventually reach a public hearing.

The Conservatives have been pressuring Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to disclose a trove of files related to the removal of Xiangguo Qiu and Kending Cheng from the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg.

Prior to Monday’s censure, Stewart had refused to obey three prior government orders by the Special Committee on Canada-China Relations to disclose the documents.

Liberal Health Minister Patty Hajdu has also refused to oblige fellow parliamentarians claiming that national security reasons prevent the government from releasing the files.

Both scientists were escorted out of the federal facility following an RCMP raid in 2019.

The government has refused to reveal the exact nature of Kending and Xiangguo’s dismissal but claim that it does not have to do with the scientists sending samples of deadly viruses like Ebola and Henipah to the Wuhan Institute of Virology upon request.

According to media reports, several scientists employed at the lab also collaborated with researchers tied to China’s People’s Liberation Army.

House of Commons rejects Sloan’s motion to sanction Facebook and Twitter for censorship

Parliamentarians rejected a motion by Independent MP Derek Sloan to sanction Facebook and Twitter for censoring a press conference Sloan held last week.

During the conference, Sloan appeared with a number of medical health professionals who detailed ongoing attempts to silence and reprimand them for speaking out against the prevailing COVID-19 narrative.

“Mr. Speaker, last week I hosted a Parliamentary press conference on the censorship of Canadian doctors and medical experts. Their testimony was truly shocking. Unfortunately, Facebook stopped my livestream in mid-conference. Despite this, the full press conference is now the most viewed video in history on CPAC‘s YouTube channel, with over 500,000 views,” said Sloan.

“However, on Facebook and Twitter, they’re still restricting the sharing of this video on their platforms. Given the importance to democracy of Canadians seeing official parliamentary functions, does the minister denounce this censorship by Big Tech?”

In response to Sloan being censored, Liberal MP Jennifer O’Connell implied that Sloan was spreading “misinformation” by hosting the event.

Eventually Sloan rose in the House of Commons on Tuesday to introduce his motion calling on the government to stand against social media censorship by tech giants.

“The Government must strongly defend the rights of parliamentarians against the outside interference of social media companies such as Facebook and Twitter and (b) call on the Government to recognize that any potential suppression of information or censorship of parliamentary events such as official press conferences can not be allowed to happen, and to officially sanction Facebook and Twitter for their actions,” Sloan’s motion read.

The motion did not receive the unanimous consent required for it to pass after a fellow MP rose to reject it.

Sloan also held a separate press conference earlier this week on the Liberal government’s conversion therapy bill, C-6. Sloan appeared alongside mental health professionals and other witnesses to speak out against the legislation’s passing.

According to Sloan and others, the broad definition of conversion therapy would target practitioners, particularly faith-based ones, whose therapy may not seek to change sexual orientation but might discourage certain sexual behaviours.

The majority of Canadians reject the idea that our country is racist

Is Canada a racist country? According to a recent study from the Angus Reid Institute, a clear majority of Canadians say no.

That’s pretty remarkable given the constant diet of Canada-bashing from our political and media elite. Since the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis last summer, nearly every public political figure has pushed the notion that Canada is a “systemically racist” country and has used this as a pretext to force woke ideology into every aspect of our society.

Medical school professor fired for questioning COVID-19 vaccinations for children

A surgeon and professor at the University of Saskatchewan has been fired after he questioned giving COVID-19 vaccinations to children and calling for informed consent.

According to the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF), Dr. Francis Christian has been suspended from all teaching responsibilities at the university and will lose his position by September.

The move came after Dr. Christian wrote a letter to fellow doctors that families and children should be aware of potential risks of COVID-19 vaccinations, noting that a patient should always be “fully aware of the risks of the medical intervention, the benefits of the intervention, and if any alternatives exist to the intervention.”

“This should apply particularly to a new vaccine that has never before been tried in humans… before the vaccine is rolled out to children, both children and parents must know the risks of m-RNA vaccines,” he wrote.

Dr. Christian spoke at a rally last week to share the same position. Christian, who says he is pro-vaccination, says currently available COVID-19 vaccination should not be issued to children as young as 12 like the province of Saskatchewan recommends.

Dr. Christian is fighting the action taken against him and is receiving help in his defense from the JCCF.

In a statement to Global News, the Dean of the College of Medicine Dr. Preston Smith said that Dr. Christian’s beliefs are so inappropriate that his suspension is justified.

“When somebody is saying things that are at such great variance with all of our experts and worldwide experts and public safety is involved and could be jeopardized through these differences of view, I think we have to recognize that that’s a special situation that requires urgent and extraordinary action and that’s our reason for acting at this time.”

On Wednesday, True North contributor Anthony Furey reported on how SickKids Hospital is noticing a handful of cases of myocarditis — inflammation of the heart — in youth following vaccination for COVID-19.

Health organizations around the world are investigating the side effects amongst youth who received the COVID-19 vaccine. In its June guidance, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends parents should hold off on vaccinating their children.

“More evidence is needed on the use of the different COVID-19 vaccines in children to be able to make general recommendations on vaccinating children against COVID-19,” the WHO writes.

Recently, multiple healthcare professionals have been punished for speaking out against official narratives around COVID-19 or COVID-19 vaccines.

According to JCCF Litigation Director Jay Cameron, any professional who questions the government narrative on COVID-19 puts their career in jeopardy.

“We are seeing a clear pattern of highly competent and skilled medical doctors in very esteemed positions being taken down and censored or even fired, for practicing proper science and medicine,” he said.

Letter ‘Q’ Posted to John McAfee’s Instagram Account, Hours After His Death

John McAfee was found dead in a Spanish prison cell on Wednesday, but the letter “Q” was posted to his Instagram account hours after his death.

McAfee’s wife, Janice, is believed to have posted to his accounts for him while he was imprisoned — but it is currently unclear who has access or posted the cryptic “Q.”

There was no caption or explanation with the photo.

The death of the 76-year-old outspoken political activist and anti-virus software pioneer is currently being reported as a suicide, however, he has frequently claimed that if he dies by suicide it was the government. Earlier in the day, Spain’s National Court approved a request for his extradition back to the US.

McAfee even got a tattoo in 2019 reading “$WHACKD.”

McAfee was arrested by Spanish authorities on October 3, 2020 at the El Prat Airport.He was wanted by the US government for owing millions of dollars in taxes.

Zero Hedge reports that earlier this month, McAfee argued in a videolink hearing that charges against him are politically motivated, and that he would die in prison if he was returned to the US.

If convicted, he was facing up to 30 years in prison.

Those who choose not to get the jab will be faced with a mandatory hotel quarantine for at least three nights upon arrival, followed by a home quarantine for the remainder of the 14-day period.

OTTAWA, Ontario, June 23, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — The Canadian federal government announced Monday that, starting July 5, air travelers coming into the country who have had two doses of a COVID-19 shot will no longer have to quarantine for 14 days. Minors under the age of 12 who are not eligible for the COVID-19 shot must still isolate at home, however, as well as those who have chosen not to get the COVID-19 jab.

“The cautious adjustments announced today are only possible because of the tremendous efforts of Canadians, and additional ones will only happen if we continue to protect each other. Thank you to all those who have stepped up to get their first and second dose. If you haven’t, get vaccinated when it’s your turn, follow up for your second dose, and continue to follow public health measures,” said Canada’s Minister of Health Patty Hajdu in a Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) press release Monday.

PHAC said also in its news release that those who are fully jabbed “will not be required to stay at a government-authorized hotel” upon arrival in Canada.

However, those who choose not to get the jab will have to abide by the rules currently in place, meaning a mandatory hotel quarantine for at least three nights upon arrival, followed by a home quarantine for the remainder of the 14-day period.

Hajdu said Monday that “unfortunately most children will not be vaccinated” due to the jab being only approved for those 12 and older, meaning kids under 12 do not qualify for the new rules.

“And so, the advice from the team of scientists and public health experts is that to protect Canadians from contact with an imported case of COVID-19, that children under 12 do have to quarantine,” said Hajdu.

Under the new July 5 rules, all air travelers must still produce a negative COVID-19 PCR test both before boarding a plane and upon arrival into Canada — regardless of of vaccination status.

According to the federal government, to be considered “fully vaccinated,” a traveler must have received the full two doses of a government-approved COVID-19 jab “at least 14 days prior to entering Canada.”

The relaxation of rules only applies to Canadians and permanent residents.

Health Canada has authorized four COVID-19 injections for adults, all with connections to abortion. They also have been associated with severe side-effects such as blood clots, rashes, miscarriages, and even heart attacks in young healthy men.

Monday’s news of relaxed quarantine rules for the vaccinated comes shortly after Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his government is working on “two tracks” to prove one’s vaccination status.

Trudeau confirmed last Friday that in the fall the federal government will be rolling out a system of “national certification of vaccination status” that travelers can use to prove they’ve had both doses of the COVID-19 jab.

Dr. Christian was called into a meeting today [June 23], suspended from all teaching responsibilities effective immediately, and fired from his position with the University of Saskatchewan as of September 2021.

There is a recording of Dr. Christian’s meeting today between Dr. Christian and Dr. Preston Smith, the Dean of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, College of Medicine, Dr. Susan Shaw, the Chief Medical Officer of the Saskatchewan Health Authority, and Dr. Brian Ulmer, Head of the Department of Surgery at the Saskatchewan College of Medicine.

In addition, the Justice Centre will represent Dr. Christian in his defence of a complaint that was made against him and an investigation by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan. The complaint objects to Dr. Christian having advocated for the informed consent of COVID vaccines for children.

Dr. Christian has been a surgeon for more than 20 years and began working in Saskatoon in 2007. He was appointed Director of the Surgical Humanities Program and Director of Quality and Patient Safety in 2018 and co-founded the Surgical Humanities Program. Dr. Christian is also the Editor of the Journal of The Surgical Humanities.

On June 17, Dr. Christian released a statement to over 200 doctors which contained his concerns regarding giving the Covid shots to children. In it he noted that he is pro-vaccine, and that he did not represent any group, the Saskatchewan Health Authority, or the University of Saskatchewan. “I speak to you directly as a physician, a surgeon, and a fellow human being.” Dr. Christian noted that the principle of informed consent was sacrosanct and noted that a patient should always be “fully aware of the risks of the medical intervention, the benefits of the intervention, and if any alternatives exist to the intervention.”

CDC finds ‘likely’ link between heart inflammation and Pfizer, Moderna COVID vaccines

During today’s meeting, members of a CDC advisory committee acknowledged 1,200 cases of heart inflammation in 16- to 24-year-olds, and said mRNA COVID vaccines should carry a warning statement — but physicians and other public commenters accused the CDC of exaggerating the risk to young people of COVID, and minimizing the risk of the vaccines.

June 24, 2021 (Children’s Health Defense) – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) said Wednesday there is a “likely association” of “mild” heart inflammation in adolescents and young adults after vaccination with an mRNA COVID vaccine and a warning statement is warranted.

According to a report by the COVID-19 Vaccine Safety Technical (VaST) Work Group, the risk of myocarditis or pericarditis following vaccination with the mRNA-based shots in adolescents and young adults is notably higher after the second dose and in males.

“Clinical presentation of myocarditis cases following vaccination has been distinct, occurring most often within one week after dose two, with chest pain as the most common presentation,” said Dr. Grace Lee, co-chair of VaST.

There have been more than 1,200 cases of myocarditis or pericarditis in 16- to-24-year-olds who received an mRNA COVID vaccine, according to a series of slide presentations published Wednesday at the ACIP meeting.

Myocarditis is inflammation of the heart muscle that can lead to cardiac arrhythmia and death. According to researchers at the National Organization for Rare Disorders, myocarditis can result from infections, but “more commonly the myocarditis is a result of the body’s immune reaction to the initial heart damage.”

Pericarditis is often used interchangeably with myocarditis and refers to inflammation of the pericardium, the thin sac surrounding the heart.

According to the CDC, men under 30 make up the bulk of the cases and most cases appeared to be mild. Of the 295 people who developed the condition and have been discharged, 79% have fully recovered, according to the presentation. Nine people were hospitalized, with two in intensive care as of June 11, according to the CDC.

The agency said through June 11 there have been 267 cases of myocarditis or pericarditis reported after receiving one dose of the mRNA vaccines and 827 reported cases after two doses. There are 132 additional cases where the number of doses received is unknown.

Dr. Tom Shimabukuro, deputy director of the CDC’s Immunization Safety Office, said in a presentation that data from one of the agency’s safety monitoring systems — Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD) — suggests a rate of 12.6 cases per million in the three weeks after the second shot in 12- to 39-year-olds.

A team of Israeli researchers said they began studying the possible link between Pfizer’s vaccine and thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura after reports of a sudden increase in cases across Israel — four cases in one month compared to two or three cases per year.

June 24, 2021 (Children’s Health Defense) – Israeli researchers on Monday said they discovered a link between Pfizer’s COVID vaccine and thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), a rare blood disease.

Scientists with the Institute of Hematology at Shamir Medical Center said they began researching the possible link after reports of a sudden increase in TTP across Israel — four cases detected in one month compared to two or three cases per year.

TTP is an autoimmune disorder that causes blood clots to form in small blood vessels throughout the body. According to the National Institutes of Health, these clots can cause serious health problems if they block vessels and restrict blood flow to organs, such as the brain, kidneys and heart.

According to the Jerusalem Post, the medical team said they found a “chronological connection” between vaccination and the onset of TTP symptoms. They stressed this occurred in both new patients and in patients with pre-existing TTP whose disease had been in remission but flared up soon after getting the vaccine.

The Health Ministry, which is evaluating the research, asked doctors not to provide interviews until the evaluation is complete.

Dr. Maya Koren-Michowitz, head of the Hematology and the Translational Hemato-Oncology Laboratory and lead author of the study, recommended people with a history of TTP get vaccinated only with special permission from their doctor — and if they do vaccinate, get a follow-up clinical evaluation.

Koren-Michowitz also called on “healthy people” who are vaccinated to be vigilant and seek medical help immediately if symptoms appear.

“Physicians and patients need to be alert to the clinical symptoms: weakness fatigue, neurological disorders, hemorrhage and chest pain,” the Israeli team said in a press release.

A spokesperson said the study is very small and “should not deter individuals from getting the COVID vaccine.”

Billionaire Warren Buffett announced Wednesday that he would donate $4.1 billion in Berkshire Hathaway shares to five left-wing foundations.

Currently the sixth-richest man in the world, Buffett boasts a net worth of $104.5 billion, the vast majority of which is in shares of Berkshire Hathaway, a multinational conglomerate with an estimated market cap of over $600 billion, of which he is CEO. One the largest public firms in the world, Berkshire Hathaway has its hands in everything from insurance to underwear.

In 2006, Buffett announced his intent to give away the vast majority of his fortune in annual gifts to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, the Sherwood Foundation, the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, and the NoVo Foundation. Buffett’s daughter, Susan Alice Buffett, leads the Sherwood Foundation, which formerly bore her own name. The NoVo Foundation operates under the leadership of his son Peter Buffett. Buffet’s son Howard leads the foundation bearing his name.

Of the five routine recipients of Buffett’s donations, only the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is not run, founded by, or named for a member of his family. Buffett had, however, been a trustee of that organization for years before announcing his resignation Wednesday.

“For years I have been a trustee — an inactive trustee at that — of only one recipient of my funds, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMG). I am now resigning from that post, just as I have done at all corporate boards other than Berkshire’s,” Buffett said, according to CNBC.

Buffett’s beneficiaries primarily work toward left-wing social causes, in Nebraska and nationwide. The Sherwood Foundation’s mission statement, for example, reads: “The Sherwood Foundation® promotes equity through social justice initiatives enhancing the quality of life in Nebraska.”

Likewise, the NoVo Foundation, which works to end violence against women, also “seeks to foster a transformation in global society from a culture of domination and exploitation to one of equality and partnership.”

The Howard G. Buffett Foundation seeks to “catalyze transformational change to improve the standard of living and quality of life, particularly for the world’s most impoverished and marginalized populations.”

The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, formerly just the Buffett Foundation until it was renamed for Warren’s late wife, funds college scholarships but is quietly one of the nation’s largest contributors to pro-abortion, population control, and “reproductive health and family planning,” Influence Watch noted.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, meanwhile, is well-known for its work on left-wing, globalist initiatives including gender issues, equity, vaccination, and more. The organization has been a loud proponent of “vaccine equity” amid the Chinese coronavirus pandemic, advocating for a globalized approach to vaccinating the world population.

Wednesday’s announced $4.1 billion marks the latest in a string of annual gifts to those groups aimed at achieving Buffett’s goal of giving away all of his Berkshire Hathaway shares. Buffett possessed 474,998 shares in 2006 and now claims a total of 238,634 shares, making Wednesday’s contributions a halfway point toward transferring them all to foundation ownership.

“Today is a milestone for me,” Buffett said. “In 2006, I pledged to distribute all of my Berkshire Hathaway shares — more than 99% of my net worth — to philanthropy. With today’s $4.1 billion distribution, I’m halfway there.”

Forbes totals the value of Buffett’s contributions since 2006 at $41 billion, based on the share price at the time of each transfer. Despite giving away half of his shares, Buffett’s net worth, now over $100 billion, has seen a net increase over the period due to a steady rise in the value of his remaining stake in Berkshire Hathaway.
