Some years ago Anon and Spouse took a voluntary "bump" and then a second one. SW Airlines gave each of us $500 vouchers for a total of $2,000. and the delay wasn't very long. The next flight we took, when we checked in at the counter our seat numbers were 1A & 2A. It took a minute to recognize they gave us First Class just like that. Maybe they saw we took the voluntary bumps, IDK but we waz kangs for 1 flight.
I THINK it was SW, that was the one we flew 99% of the time but I wouldn't swear it. This was 2001. August was all the bumping and the First Class had to be Sept 2001 shortly after 911. The layover was in Phoenix then John Wayne in Orange County. I still remember that address, it was 18601, street unknown.
I might have to dig around. I bet I saved that ticket stub. Not like I'm ever paying for first class and that was right up there in experiences for anon. Fancy food, some molded thing and free drinks. Wasted on anon, not a drinker. Airline wise there's not too many suspects flying out of anon's airport. Did they never have first class? We used those vouchers to go to Cabo. In August. With no luggage for two days. Maybe Delta? Could be. SW was almost always the cheap/choice and redeye home, too many trips to Vegas & I'd do it again. I love a hot crap table. Poker too, Omaha hi/low.
