New Zealand Sends Male Weightlifter to Defeat Women in the Olympics

New Zealand will set a transgender first by sending a biological male to the Olympics to compete against women in weightlifting. Former Olympians have condemned the decision. Other males competing in women’s weightlifting have set new records, demonstrating the commonsense principle that sports are sex-segregated for a reason.

Laurel Hubbard, who set New Zealand junior records in weightlifting in 1998 before he transitioned to identify as a woman in 2013, qualified for the Olympics in women’s weightlifting due to a 2015 International Olympic Committee (IOC) rule change, CNN reported. According to the Olympics guidelines, males can compete in women’s divisions so long as their testosterone levels stay below 10 nano moles per liter for at least 12 months before their first competition.

Hubbard, 43, suffered a significant injury in 2013.

“I am grateful and humbled by the kindness and support that has been given to me by so many New Zealanders,” the athlete said in a statement. “When I broke my arm at the Commonwealth Games three years ago, I was advised that my sporting career had likely reached its end. But your support, your encouragement, and your aroha [love] carried me through the darkness.”

New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) CEO Kereyn Smith admitted that Hubbard’s presence will be controversial.

“We acknowledge that gender identity in sport is a highly sensitive and complex issue requiring a balance between human rights and fairness on the field of play,” Smith said. “As the New Zealand Team, we have a strong culture of manaaki [respect, care] and inclusion and respect for all. We are committed to supporting all eligible New Zealand athletes and ensuring their mental and physical wellbeing, along with their high-performance needs, while preparing for and competing at the Olympic Games are met.”

A female Belgian weightlifter who has a chance of competing in the same category, the over-87-kilogram super-heavyweights, condemned the obvious advantage Hubbard enjoys.

Speaking to Inside the Games, Anna Vanbellinghen began by insisting that she “fully” supports the transgender community and that she is “aware the defining a legal frame for transgender participation in sports is very difficult.”

“However, anyone that has trained weightlifting at a high level knows this to be true in their bones: this particular situation is unfair to the sport and to the athletes,” the Belgian weightlifter declared.

Vanbellinghen, 27, pointed out that when people take steroids, they retain benefits even years afterward. “So why is it still a question whether two decades, from puberty to the age of 35, with the hormonal system of a man also would give an advantage [in competing against women]?” she asked.

“I understand that for sports authorities nothing is as simple as following your common sense, and that there are a lot of impracticalities when studying such a rare phenomenon, but for athletes the whole thing feels like a bad joke,” the Belgian added. “Life-changing opportunities are missed for some athletes – medals and Olympic qualifications – and we are powerless.”

Fauci Lets Slip That Mark Zuckerberg Offered Him ‘Resources & Money’ In Redacted E-mails.

Dr. Anthony Fauci has revealed what Mark Zuckerberg offered him in redacted portions of his recently released emails. The conversation, he admitted, included offers of “resources and money” from the Facebook founder who recently ploughed cash into interfering in the 2020 election.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) Director divulged further information as pressure ramps up over his personal emails, and the series of stunningly poor and hypocritical political decisions he appears to have taken over the course of the pandemic.

Fauci’s research, and that of his colleagues, been repeatedly linked to Chinese Communist Party entities including the hostile nation’s military. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s activities circle the same networks, with the billionaire tech CEO recently funneling money to long-term Fauci colleague Dr. Ralph Baric.

Following The National Pulse’s reporting on these matters, the Facebook-funded “fact checker” Lead Stories began to censor The National Pulse content on social media.

“Resources & Money.”

Appearing on the “Sway” podcast published by the New York Times, Fauci revealed what was behind the redactions in his e-mails with Zuckerberg which were released through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

Host Kara Swisher – who has interviewed Zuckerberg and number of times – notes to Fauci:

“…thousands of your emails dating from January to June of 2020 have recently been released by BuzzFeed and the Washington Post that’s giving your critics, particularly on the right, more material to work with. Your redacting of Mark Zuckerberg have added fuel to the fire. Representatives Jim Jordan and James Comer and Senator Marsha Blackburn have alleged that you worked with Facebook to censor speech.

“And you’re just laughing at me, right,” she asks while Fauci laughs before asserting, “No, no, the reason I’m laughing, Kara, because every single one of those emails can be explained in a way that is perfectly normal, perfectly innocent, and completely above board.”

What does Fauci regard as being “above board,” precisely? The offer of private funding for him and his organizations, despite being a government employee.

In any other world, this would be constituted as a form of a bribe towards a government official. Zuckerberg has form in this area, as The National Pulse revealed around the 2020 election.

“It’s like having private interests stuffing money into the pockets of the umpire before he calls the first ball or strike,” said former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline commented upon the release of information pertaining to the private, left-wing financing of the 2020 Presidential election.

Now we know that at the same time this was going on, Zuckerberg was attempting to funnel cash to Fauci. The e-mails, originally redacted, were explained by Fauci:

“…I don’t know who redacted that. When people ask for my emails, I don’t look through my emails and say, “OK, I’ll give you this one and redact this.” It’s completely out of my control. So you want to know what the email was really about? Hey, big scoop. Here we go. Mark said, hey, is there anything that we can do to help out to get the messages out, the right public health messages? I have a very important medium here in Facebook. Can I help? And as a matter of fact, if you guys don’t have enough resources and money to do some of the things you want, just let us know.”

Psaki says Biden admin has 'highest ethical standards of any administration in history'

Jen Psaki defended the Biden administration's "ethical standards" Monday when asked how the current presidency ensures that the children of top officials don't receive preferential hiring treatment.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki defended the Biden administration's "ethical standards" Monday when asked how the current presidency ensures that the children of top officials don't receive preferential hiring treatment.

"Can you describe what safeguards the administration has in place to make sure that the children of top officials don't get preferential treatment in hiring?" A reporter asked Psaki at Monday's White House press briefing.

"We have the highest ethical standards of any administration in history," Psaki answered from the podium, noting that "a number of ethics officials" agreed and conveyed the sentiment. "And we're proud of that," she said.

Asked about children of top officials from getting preferential treatment, @PressSec says "we have the highest ethical standards of any administration in history."

She adds that "a number" of ethics officials agree, "and we're proud of that."— Philip Melanchthon Wegmann (@PhilipWegmann) June 21, 2021

Psaki added that they're staffed "at an unprecedented pace," also declaring it "the most diverse administration in American history."

She said the administration "expects that everyone will abide by those high ethic standards that applies to how we operate and how hiring is done."

Psaki's defense comes after former director of the Office of Government Ethics under the Obama administration Walter Shaub blasted President Joe Biden's nepotism.

"I'm disgusted," Shaub tweeted Friday, citing the administration's repeated hires of individuals who have close family and personal ties to officials.

"The jobs went to privileged kiddos with mommies & daddies who cozied up to POTUS. Nepotism is illegal," Shaub declared on Twitter last week.

Pathetic! The responses from people who spent 4 years complaining the other side was putting party over country are pathetic. They sound just like MAGAs. The jobs went to privileged kiddos with mommies & daddies who cozied up to POTUS. Nepotism is illegal. https://t.co/LumH4uSzSt— Walter Shaub (@waltshaub) June 18, 2021

"Do I sound bitter? HELL, YEAH, I'M BITTER! I'm the stupid moron who fell for his false promises," continued Shaub.

"I wasn't naive enough to think he'd be a transformative president. He told us he'd be plain vanilla. But I thought there was momentum behind his ethics promises. Boy was I stupid."

Twitter SUSPENDS National File for Report on Viral Twitter Thread About Vaccine Death, Tweets Still on Platform

National File's been locked out of its Twitter account for 12 hours

The official Twitter account for National File has been suspended for 12 hours after the outlet dared to report on a viral tweet thread about the death of a teenager after taking the COVID vaccine.

National File reported on Monday morning on a viral Twitter thread from the aunt of a 13-year-old boy from Michigan who passed away only three days after receiving his second dose of the Pfizer brand COVID-19 vaccine. Preliminary autopsy results indicate that following his vaccination, the boy’s heart has become enlarged and surrounded by fluid, a symptom similar to those documented in other teen boys who have experienced severe and potentially lethal side effects following their COVID vaccination.

“A week ago today my brother’s 13-year-old son had his 2nd covid shot,” Jacob Clynick’s aunt, Tami Burages, posted in a tweet, providing a photo of his vaccination card for proof. “Less than 3 days later he died.” She added, “The initial autopsy results (done Friday) were that his heart was enlarged and there was some fluid surrounding it. He had no known health problems. Was on no medications,” the post continued. Ms. Burages added that she was “pro-vaccine,” and even had her own 14-year-old son vaccinated, but still demanded a CDC investigation.

Ohio House Ousts Lawmaker Accused of Corruption

The Ohio State House ousted last week a lawmaker whom the FBI accused of accepting millions of dollars in bribes to pass legislation bailing out two nuclear plants.

Republican lawmaker Larry Householder lost his seat in the Ohio House of Representatives almost a year after U.S. federal authorities arrested and charged him, but have not yet tried or convicted him for the US$60 million corruption scandal.

Although it was the first expulsion from the Ohio State House in over 100 years, it wasn't Householder's first time leaving office under federal investigation.

In 2004, he resigned under accusations of money laundering but the government closed his case without charges. Householder was reelected in 2016 in a shocking comeback and before returning to office, he told the Associated Press he had some “unfinished business involving the district.”

Last July, while Householder was Speaker, the FBI filed a criminal complaint against him and four of his associates.

“The Defendants enriched themselves and increased Householder’s political power by engaging in a scheme to defraud the public of the honest services of Householder,” FBI agent Blane Wetzel wrote in the supporting affidavit.

Former United States Attorney David DeVillers called this “likely the largest bribery, money laundering scheme ever perpetrated against the people of the state of Ohio.” Two co-defendants signed guilty pleas. Householder has pleaded not guilty.

“I fully intend to walk into a courtroom in Cincinnati and walk out of there a free man and innocent,” Householder said last Tuesday. But, before he could have his day in court, he was forced to walk out of the Ohio State House stripped of his elected position.

The Ohio Constitutionsays that members of the House may be expelled for “disorderly conduct,” and some representatives insisted that the fact such unprecedented corruption unfolded under Householder’s leadership points to his professional misconduct, regardless of his involvement in the case.

“This isn’t about his innocence and his guilt,” Democratic Rep. Kristin Boggs told the AP. The House expelled Householder Wednesday in a 75-21 vote.

Defenders of Householder argued that this historic move went against the Constitutional principle to treat people as innocent until proven guilty.

Rep. Nino Vitale referred to the ousting as “profound and tragic” and asked on his Facebook page whether “the Constitutions even matter any longer?”

In his testimony, Householder warned lawmakers: “Just think of the precedent this will set: allegations are enough to remove anyone from office.”

His court date has not yet been announced.

Arizona Senate Liaison Ken Bennett Says He Hopes Senate Will Not Have to Take Legal Action to Get Routers from Maricopa County

On Monday, The Arizona audit started its last week of paper evaluation and counting Braille ballots.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that the audit would complete by June 26th as they are evaluating over 100 THOUSAND ballots per day.

Conradson: it’s last week of counting. can you tell us about what’s going on, on the floor?

Bennett: Well, there’s a few little holdovers on the counting side. The last three boxes that we haven’t touched yet are the Braille ballots. We’ve got two or three Braille readers who are going to be in tomorrow morning to deal with those ballots, everything else has been counted. There’s some double checking going on. And then, most of the activity on the floor, has to do with the paper evaluation.

Conradson: So we’re set to be done on Saturday, right.

Bennett: At the pace we’re making. We should be done this week.

Conradson: What about the subpoenaed passwords and routers?

Bennett: We’re still pushing the county for some of the information that we’ve not received, but I think the focus is getting these two phases the hand count, And the paper evaluation done. Then we’ll turn our focus to getting some of the other information that didn’t come over.

Conradson: Are you guys going to have to take criminal action?

Bennett: I hope not. I believe that they will provide us what we need by subpoena. The county and the Senate both know that the Maricopa County Superior Court judge has ruled that the counties are that the Senate subpoenas are valid and need to be complied with, so we hope things will go smoothly.

Conradson: Can we talk about the end of the legislative session here in Arizona, the Senate’s going home, what is going to happen with the end of the audit?

Bennett: well, obviously, if we find things that need to be fixed in Arizona election laws or procedures in the audit, we would love to have those things considered, this year for passage of corrections to those state laws, instead of waiting for next year. Because if you put it in the regular session next year, and the session doesn’t end until May or June, like this year did then, those bills don’t become effective until 90 days later. By that time you’re well into the election of 2022. So, one way or another, I personally hope that the legislature and the governor will find a way to either keep the legislative session open. Maybe recess instead of sine die, or a commitment maybe to come back for a special session later this fall, so that these corrections if we find any can be made this year and be in effect for next year instead of being made next year and not effect until 2024.

Conradson: what can regular citizens do to make sure that these corrections are made this year?

Bennett: They can contact their state representatives and state senators, encouraged them to be open to consider any recommendations that come out of the audit, and get those things taken care of this year so that they are in effect for next year.

Months later, the county has still not given the subpoenaed routers or passwords to the Senate. Ken bennet hopes this violation of the law does not lead to criminal action.

Another issue that may arise is the end of the 2021 legislative session in Arizona. If the state senate adjourns before making the necessary reforms to our election, these laws will not be passed until after the 2022 midterm election.

We can expect to see this process finished by Saturday, June 26 and the final report will be released by August.

Nellis Air Force Base Hosts First-Ever Drag Queen Show: ‘Essential to the Morale, Readiness’

The Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada recently hosted its first-ever drag queen show at one of its on-base dining and entertainment clubs, according a base spokesperson.

Nellis Air Force Base said in an email statement to Breitbart News:

Nellis Air Force Base and the 99th Air Base Wing hosted its first-ever drag show Thursday, June 17, at the Nellis Club. The event was sponsored by a private organization and provided an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the history and significance of drag performance art within the LGBT+ community.

Ensuring our ranks reflect and are inclusive of the American people is essential to the morale, cohesion, and readiness of the military. Nellis Air Force Base is committed to providing and championing an environment that is characterized by equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion.

The drag queen show came to light after Air Force veteran podcaster “BK” posted a digital flyer for the event that read: “DRAG-U-NELLIS” and “CLASS IS IN SESSION.”

“Discover the significance of Drag in the LGBT+ Community at the Nellis Club,” it said.

It was scheduled for Friday, June 17, at 5 p.m. and “Sponsored by the Nellis Top 3.”

The “Top 3” at Nellis Air Force Base is a social and professional organization established to “enhance the morale, esprit de corps, of all enlisted personnel assigned to the Wing and to facilitate cooperation between members of the top three enlisted grades,” according to its private Facebook page.

“The base Top III will provide a forum for its members to meet, share personal experiences and expertise, and assist one another. It may function as an added channel of communication within the chain of command, between the commander, and the enlisted force on Nellis AFB,” it said.

One person who attended the drag queen show posted on her social media account, “Had a fun night … at a drag Queen show at nellis afb last night.”

The Nellis Club, according to the Nellis Force Support Squadron website, is a consolidated club offering a “versatile dining and entertainment experience for all its members.”

“We now serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a midnight meal from Mon – Fri as well as brunch, dinner, and a midnight meal on Sat, Sun, Holidays, and Family Days. All meals are open to Essential Meal Card Holders! There is something for everyone to enjoy here at your Nellis Club, come give us a try,” it said.

Nellis Air Force Base is home to the service’s Warfare Center where Air Force pilots undergo the most demanding advanced air combat training in the country. “The crews do not come to learn how to fly, but instead how to be the best combat aviators in the world,” the base website said.

Biden’s ‘Sanctuary Country’ Orders Freeing Criminal Illegal Aliens from Florida Jails

President Joe Biden’s “sanctuary country” orders for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are resulting in the release of criminal illegal aliens at Florida jails.

After taking office, Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued the sanctuary country orders that prevent ICE agents from arresting and deporting illegal aliens unless they are recently-convicted aggravated felons or are known terrorists or gang members.

In Martin County and St. Lucie County, Florida, the Biden orders have resulted in ICE dropping detainers on criminal illegal aliens in local custody. ICE detainers typically prevent criminal illegal aliens from being released into American communities.

Martin County Sheriff William Snyder told WPTV 5 News that “close to 50 percent” of the criminal illegal aliens in his agency’s custody are having their ICE detainers dropped and law enforcement is not told why.

“We’ve had some problem with ICE dropping holds so we have people that have ICE holds and inexplicably they’re dropped,” Snyder said.

This year, ICE has had 24 detainers on criminal illegal aliens in Martin County. Thus far, 11 of those detainers have been dropped. This indicates that unless the county can keep the criminal illegal alien in their custody, they will be released back into the community.

In St. Lucie County, ICE has placed 26 detainers on criminal illegal aliens this year and two have been dropped.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, who filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration in March over the sanctuary country orders, detailed multiple cases in which criminal illegal aliens in the state were being released into communities rather than being turned over to ICE.

Similar releases have occurred in Arizona.

In early May, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich revealed that criminal illegal aliens convicted of armed robbery, drunk driving, drug crimes, and arson to walk free out of prison instead of being taken into custody and deported by ICE agents.

The latest arrests of illegal aliens by ICE, reported by Fox News’ Adam Shaw, shows the Biden administration has cut down the number by nearly 50 percent compared to last year. For example, in May, ICE arrested just 2,837 illegal aliens whereas in May 2020, ICE arrested 5,579 illegal aliens.

Colorado Democrats Pass ‘Rules’ That Prohibit Election Audits

Last month, Democrats across the country were horrified when Republican voters in Arizona began auditing the state’s highly dubious 2020 election debacle, specifically for Maricopa County where, after the counting was delayed for days last November, a surprise flood of last-minute ballots suddenly materialized – handing that key swing state to Democratic nominee Joe Biden, albeit by the slimmest of margins.

In response to these numerous calls nationwide for election accountability, Democrats in Colorado have rushed to pass new ‘measures’ that prohibit any such election audits from taking place in the Democrat-controlled state.

“My office just issued rules prohibiting sham election audits in the State of Colorado. We will not risk the state’s election security nor perpetuate The Big Lie. Fraudits have no place in Colorado,” said Secretary of State, Democrat Jena Griswold on Twitter this week.

My office just issued rules prohibiting sham election audits in the State of Colorado. We will not risk the state’s election security nor perpetuate The Big Lie. Fraudits have no place in Colorado. https://t.co/PFLCjJJmZg

— Jena Griswold (@JenaGriswold) June 17, 2021

“Colorado’s elections are considered the safest in the nation, and we must remain steadfast in our dedication to security,” said Griswold in her press release. “Along those lines, no third-party person or vendor will be permitted access to voting equipment in our state. We will not risk the state’s election security nor perpetuate The Big Lie. Sham audits have no place in Colorado.”

The Independent Chronicle reports…

The rules dictate that only certain qualified parties can access the state’s voting systems, including, “an employee of the county clerk, an employee of the voting system provider, an employee of the Secretary of State’s Office, or an appointed election judge.” The party must also pass “a comprehensive criminal background check” to access the systems.

Texas senator Ted Cruz responded to Colorado’s measure, asking why they would prohibit ballot audits if they truly had nothing to hide.

“This is just odd,” Cruz tweeted. “Who puts out rules saying ‘NO AUDITS ALLOWED!!’ Only those with something to hide.”

“If a company said “WE REFUSE TO BE AUDITED,” would you invest in them? (And to the straw man re “sham” audits, of course, don’t have a sham. But real audits are good.)” his tweet continued.

Maryland Detects Over 500K Fraudulent Unemployment Claims In Last 6 Weeks

BALTIMORE – (Maryland Department of Labor) – The Maryland Department of Labor today announced that the department has detected over 508,000 fraudulent new unemployment insurance claims since the beginning of May.

“With fraudulent activity rampant in unemployment insurance programs across the country, Maryland has consistently adapted and added new security measures to prevent, detect, and report fraud,” said Governor Larry Hogan. “In fact, an astonishing 1.3 million claims flagged by the state have been confirmed as fraudulent since the beginning of the pandemic, with over 508,000 being detected in the last month and a half alone.”

With the record number of unemployment insurance claims filed and the additional federal benefits available during the COVID-19 pandemic, states have combated bad actors and fraudsters using illegally obtained data to file fraudulent unemployment insurance claims.

“As the economy recovers and states across the country continue to opt out of the federal benefits programs, bad actors are becoming more brazen and aggressive in their attempts to exploit unemployment insurance programs than ever before,” said Labor Secretary Tiffany P. Robinson. “I strongly encourage all Marylanders to remain especially vigilant in the coming weeks to protect themselves against scams and identity theft.”

Over 508,000 Potentially Fraudulent Claims Detected Since May

CVS Health Records for 1.1 Billion Customers Exposed

A vendor exposed the records, which were accessible with no password or other authentication, likely because of a cloud-storage misconfiguration.

More than 1 billion records for CVS Health customers were left in the database of a third-party, unnamed vendor – exposed, unprotected, online. Researchers said the data points revealed could be strung together to create an extremely personal snapshot of someones’s medical situation.

The glitch is likely due to human error, security researcher Jeremiah Fowler said in a post on WebsitePlanet on Thursday: In other words, it’s probably yet another incidence of rampant misconfiguration that’s plaguing cloud-based storage, leading to exposure of sensitive data on an internal network.

According to Fowler’s post, researchers at WebsitePlanet – a portal for web developers and internet marketers – found the non-password-protected database, which had no form of authentication in place to prevent unauthorized entry, on March 21. They coordinated with Fowler in documenting their discovery and on that same day, after they contacted CVS Health, the naked database was closed off from public view.

CVS Health is the parent company behind multiple household brands, including the CVS Pharmacy retail pharmacy chain; CVS Caremark, a pharmacy benefits manager; and Aetna, a health insurance provider.

A CVS spokesperson confirmed the researchers’ findings, saying that CVS Health had been notified of the exposure of a publicly accessible database that contained non-identifiable CVS Health metadata. Upon investigation, they determined that the database was hosted by a third-party vendor, whose name the company didn’t disclose. The database didn’t contain any personally identifiable information (PII) of customers, members or patients, the company said in a statement, and the database was quickly taken down.

As the researcher’s report indicates, there was no risk to customers, members or patients, and we worked with the vendor to quickly take the database down. We’ve addressed the issue with the vendor to prevent a recurrence and we thank the researcher who notified us about this matter. —CVS Health statement.

What Was in That CVS Cache of Data?

Fowler said in his post that there was in fact enough information to derive customers’ PII, including their email addresses. The total size of the database was 204 GB, according to the researchers. It held 1.1 billion records, or, to be precise, 1,148,327,940 files. They were labeled “production” and included information typed into search bars, such as the data types add to cart, configuration, dashboard, index-pattern, more refinements, order, remove from cart, search, server.

The records also exposed fields called Visitor ID, Session ID and device information, such as whether customers were using an iPhone, an Android, an iPad or a desktop PC. The team noted that by stringing together the data, they could reveal emails that could be targeted in a phishing attack, in social engineering, or “potentially used to cross-reference other actions.”

Trans Olympic athlete said 'goal' is to win event to 'burn a US flag on the podium'

The Olympics are traditionally a time when Americans come together under a shared sense of patriotism and love of country. But for one U.S. Olympic athlete, the dream of standing on the winner's podium would mean an opportunity to express the exact opposite.

In a Facebook post last year, unearthed by Fox News, transgender BMX freestyle rider Chelsea Wolfe declared that being able to set fire to the American flag in protest while on the podium was the motivating factor driving them to accomplish their dream.

"My goal is to win the Olympics so I can burn a US flag on the podium. This is what they focus on during a pandemic. Hurting trans children," wrote Wolfe, who qualified to be an alternate for this year's Olympic games in Tokyo, Japan, wrote on March 25, 2020.

Included underneath Wolfe's text was a link to a PinkNews story titled, "Trump administration officially declares it believes trans girls should be treated as 'biological males.'"

In conversation with Fox News, Wolfe explained that the since-deleted post was not intended to convey a disdain for America. Rather, it was an attempt to "take a stand against fascism":

"Anyone who thinks that I don't care about the United States is sorely mistaken," Wolfe told Fox News. "One of the reasons why I work so hard to represent the United States in international competition is to show the world that this country has morals and values, that it's not all of the bad things that we're known for. I take a stand against fascism because I care about this country and I'm not going to let it fall into the hands of fascists after so many people have fought and sacrificed to prevent fascism from taking hold abroad. As a citizen who wants to be proud of my home country, I'm sure as hell not going to let it take hold here."

Wolfe, who was born a biological male, if given the chance will compete as a female in the upcoming games in Japan.

Earlier this month, in an Instagram post announcing their acceptance as an alternate, Wolfe discussed her journey as a transgender BMX rider.

"I searched for so long trying to find out if there had ever been a professional trans bmx rider to show me that who I am would be okay and unfortunately I found no one. I had the badass cis women inspire me but there was always a disconnect," Wolfe said. "Eventually I started to meet some amazing women who helped me accept that I am a woman just like any other and that I deserve a place to exist in the world just like everyone else."

In order to compete as a transgender female athlete, the International Olympic Committee specifies that athletes must declare that their gender identity is female and cannot change that declaration for at least four years.

As part of an effort to maintain "fair competition," the athlete must also test under specified testosterone levels at least 12 months prior to competitions.

McDonald's will hire 20,000 staff and open 150 new restaurants across UK and Ireland as lockdown eases

McDonald's is looking to hire 20,000 people and to open 150 new restaurants

Fast food chain said positions were not to replace jobs lost during the pandemic

Comes amid struggle to fill hospitality roles with 188,000 vacancies across UK

McDonald's is looking to hire 20,000 people and open 150 new restaurants across the UK and Ireland, it has announced.

The fast food chain wants to employ additional staff and set up 50 new franchises in locations across the country over the next 12 months.

Another 100 stores will follow in the next two years.

The huge expansion by the firm is seen as a shrugging off of fears over the decline in footfall in the high street where it has traditionally had a large footprint.

Making the announcement, Paul Pomroy, its UK chief executive, said: 'It's fantastic to be able to offer an additional 20,000 people an opportunity to work with us.
