Colorado Mayor Bans Pledge Of Allegiance At Board Meetings — Gets Triggered After Members Recite It Anyway, Threatens To Remove Them

Colorado Mayor Shane Fuhrman banned the Pledge Of Allegiance At Board Meetings. So members recite it anyway.

Then the mayor loses it and threatens to remove them from the meeting!

Silverton, Colorado Mayor Shane Fuhrman unilaterally suspended the practice of saying the Pledge of Allegiance during board meetings last week. Fuhrman made the decision without a vote by the board members. Town Trustee Molly Barela questioned his power to make that change during the public meeting that was livestreamed on the internet.

Fuhrman told the board members and attendees, “Due to direct and indirect threats, inappropriate comments in and out of public meetings, and the general divisiveness this is creating in our community, we will not be doing the Pledge of Allegiance during town of Silverton board of trustee meetings.”

The mayor did not provide any specific information about the alleged threats and comments. That was just likely his excuse to be an authoritarian.

During the meeting several attendees and board members stood and recited The Pledge of Allegiance. That’s when the mayor got triggered and threatened to remove them all from the city meeting.

Wow!

Here’s an extended version of the video with the mayor threatening the attendees after they recite The Pledge of Allegiance!

Twitter Reinstates National File, Claims 12 Hour Lock Was ‘In Error’

The account has been fully restored, but the tweet in question remains removed after Twitter claims they made a mistake

Twitter has fully reinstated the account of National File, claiming that a 12 hour lock given to this news outlet earlier today was “in error.”

National File was locked out of their official Twitter account on Monday afternoon, for tweeting out a story covering the tragic death of a 13-year-old boy from Michigan who passed away only three days after receiving his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer. The 12 hour lock-out was down to the tweet having allegedly violated the Twitter rules, specifically regarding their policy on “spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19.

National File contacted Twitter, enquiring as to whether they believe that an article, based on a thread on their own platform, constitutes misinformation, and that if they do disagree with National File’s reporting, which specific points amounted to “misinformation.” National File also inquired as to why Ms. Burages’s tweet thread remains on the platform, while a news report on the story has been removed.

The action taken against National File for reporting on the story drew backlash from many conservatives, including prominent author and commentator Michelle Malkin, who decried Twitter for “covering up post-COVID vax deaths of children.”

WHY DOES TWITTER WANT TO COVER UP POST-COVID VAX DEATHS OF CHILDREN? https://t.co/BPDNbEoZrL

— Michelle Malkin (@michellemalkin) June 21, 2021

In an email response, a Twitter spokesperson said that they had taken enforcement action on the National File account “in error,” and as such, the account has fully been restored immediately. However, the tweet in question, which was captioned, “a 13-year-old boy is dead after taking the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, and his aunt, who is very pro-vaccine, is demanding an investigation from the CDC,” still shows up on the account timeline as having been deleted for breaking Twitter rules.

Twitter claimed earlier this month that the suspension of the Informed Consent Action Network for tweeting that they would publish emails from Anthony Fauci was also in “error,” with their account also being restored following a National File inquiry.

As originally reported:

National File reported on Monday morning on a viral Twitter thread from the aunt of [the boy]… Preliminary autopsy results indicated that following his vaccination, the boy’s heart had become enlarged and surrounded by fluid, a symptom similar to those documented in other teen boys who have experienced severe and potentially lethal side effects following their COVID vaccination.

“A week ago today my brother’s 13-year-old son had his 2nd covid shot,” Jacob Clynick’s aunt, Tami Burages, posted in a tweet, providing a photo of his vaccination card for proof. “Less than 3 days later he died.” She added, “The initial autopsy results (done Friday) were that his heart was enlarged and there was some fluid surrounding it. He had no known health problems. Was on no medications,” the post continued. Ms. Burages added that she was “pro-vaccine,” and even had her own 14-year-old son vaccinated, but still demanded a CDC investigation…

“Twitter’s censorship here is as repugnant as it is ridiculous,” said Editor-in-Chief Tom Pappert. “National File does not publish medical misinformation. We published a report containing direct quotes from a woman who – using Twitter – expressed concern about the death of her 13-year-old nephew, Jacob Clynick, which occurred after he received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine,” he continued.

Pappert noted that Burages is a “vaccine advocate who has used her Twitter account since 2017,” and that it was “disturbing” that National File was censored while her tweets remain on the platform. “It appears Twitter is attempting to censor news outlets for the crime of reporting on the concerns of a recently bereaved family member,” Pappert said.

“Our hearts and prayers are with Ms. Burages and her family during this difficult time. It is very unfortunate that Twitter would attempt to prevent this family from sharing its truth and its concerns about the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine only days after Jacob’s untimely and heartbreaking death,” Pappert concluded in the statement.

Monmouth University Requires Vaccinated Students to Wear Masks for Fall Semester

Monmouth University is requiring full vaccination while not lifting any mask restrictions in classrooms.

The school is also requiring students and faculty to submit documented proof of their vaccinations by August 1.

Monmouth University has released their new COVID-19 guidelines for the upcoming semester, which requires all students to wear masks regardless of vaccination status.

The June 14 guidelines state that all students and faculty are required to be fully vaccinated for the fall semester, with few religious or medical exemptions permitted. Students and faculty will also be required to submit proof or documentation of their vaccination by August 1 through the school’s health portal.

On May 28, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its Interim Public Health Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People:

Risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection is minimal for fully vaccinated people. The risk of SARS-CoV-2 transmission from fully vaccinated people to unvaccinated people is also reduced. Therefore, fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required…

Despite the CDC’s guidance, Monmouth University, located in New Jersey, will still be requiring masks in all classrooms, labs, and libraries even for fully vaccinated students.

“The university has carefully considered the role that COVID-19 vaccinations will play in safeguarding the overall health and safety of the university community,” Monmouth President Patrick Leahy said in the university’s June 14 statement. “We acknowledge that reaching a high vaccination level among our community is the most important factor in resuming in-person activities across campus this fall.”

Campus Reform reached out to a few Monmouth students to get their takes on the school’s COVID-19 guidelines.

“Science has proven that masks are nearly ineffective,” explained a Monmouth student who wished to remain anonymous for fear of being “kicked out” of the school for giving a conservative opinion. “So wearing them even unvaccinated is useless. Being vaccinated on top of that (if the vaccine really works) should eliminate the need to wear masks entirely.”

“Monmouth University requiring the vaccine is an outrageous attack on a person’s rights,” declared Carlie Zeidler, president of College Republicans at Monmouth, in an interview with Campus Reform. “The government and, or, any institutions do not and should not have the authority to tell someone what to put in their body. Vaccines should 100% be a person’s choice.”

Carlie has also begun a petition against the vaccine mandate at Monmouth, which currently has over 250 signatures.

Campus Reform has reached out to Monmouth University for comment but has yet to receive a response.

Justin Bieber goes viral on Instagram after ‘dropping in’ on French President Macron at Elysee Palace

Millions of Justin Bieber’s Instagram fans liked a photo in which the Canadian-born crooner and his model wife posed with the president and first lady of France after stopping by the Elysee Palace during their visit to Paris.

In the photo, Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte pose next to Bieber and his wife Hailey inside the presidential palace. The singer’s attempted nod to propriety consisted of a suit worn over blue sneakers and an unbuttoned shirt.

Bieber did not put a caption next to the photo, leaving fans and reporters alike to speculate about the meeting and its motives.

As more photos of the meeting began to circulate on other social media platforms soon thereafter, courtesy of Macron’s official photographer Soazig de la Moissonnière, the French media tried to provide some context.

The Biebers were “passing through” Paris and requested a meeting with the president, BFMTV reported. They were admitted to the palace on Monday afternoon, and discussed “issues related to youth.”

Macron isn’t exactly allergic to celebrity attention. Back in July 2017, he had the Barbadian singer-actress Rihanna over at the palace. They eventually worked together to raise money for education in developing countries, at a February 2018 conference in Senegal.

Earlier this month, however, during a visit to southern France, Macron was slapped by a member of the public, who shouted “Down with Macron-ism!” and “Montjoie Saint Denis,” the battle cry of the medieval French kingdom.

The man, identified as Damien Tarel, was sentenced to four months in jail for assault.

'It’s anti-science, and it’s anti-me': Fauci calls email controversy 'nonsense,' says 'far-right' trying to 'discredit' him

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the president’s chief medical advisor, has dismissed controversy surrounding numerous past emails being published as “anti-science” nonsense from the “far-right.”

Fauci has found himself facing new waves of criticism since thousands of his emails were released via Freedom of Information Act requests through Buzzfeed and The Washington Post.

Critics have timed what Fauci has said in some of the emails during the pandemic to what he was saying publicly and accused the infectious disease expert of hypocrisy on issues such as masking and theories about the origin of Covid-19.

In an interview with The New York Times published on Monday, Fauci dismissed his “far-right” critics as being “politically motivated” and pushing “nonsense” to discredit him.

"It’s clear. It’s anti-science, and it’s anti-me," Fauci declared.

He went on to say that every piece of correspondence is “perfectly normal, perfectly innocent, and completely above board.”

Fauci has long been accused of flip-flopping on key guidances in short periods of time during the pandemic, something he has denied, explaining that his opinion has changed as the “science” has, an argument he doubled-down on his most recent defense.

“So the people who are giving the ad hominems are saying, 'Fauci misled us,'" he said. "'First, he said no masks, then he said masks.' Well, let me give you a flash. That’s the way science works. You work with the data you have at the time. It is essential as a scientist that you evolve your opinion and your recommendations based on the data as it evolves.”

Dr. Fauci claims in a podcast that he hasn't flip-flopped on masks, etc.; it's just that new data emerged during the pandemic that proved their utility against Covid pic.twitter.com/4ZJatMoV6d

— Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) June 21, 2021

Fauci explained that because science is a “self-correcting process” that constantly changes as his recommendations have, people criticizing him are actually criticizing science itself.

“That’s the reason why I say people who then criticize me about that are actually criticizing science,” he said. “It was not a change because I felt like flip-flopping. It was a change because the evidence changed. The data changed.”

Fauci has referred to his controversy and criticism around his emails as “anti-science” in the past, but his critics continue to call for the medical advisor to step down from his White House duties.

Fauci isn't even acting as a scientist anymore. He's a Democratic party activist in a white lab coat.

— Tom Cotton (@TomCottonAR) June 21, 2021

Fauci should be in jail.

— Representative Mike Loychik (@MikeLoychik) June 21, 2021

here's what he said last summer about reversing himself on masks. it wasn't "science" that changed his mind https://t.co/RCCg1IjjLmhttps://t.co/ewwSQ0vGDwpic.twitter.com/upol40LjwP

— Allahpundit (@allahpundit) June 21, 2021

Fauci also claimed in his interview that he has received death threats and his family has been given “obscene notes” since the doctor has become one of the leading figures in the government’s handling of the pandemic.

“I mean, the more extreme they get, the more obvious how political it is. 'Fauci is like Hitler. Fauci has blood on his hands.' Are you kidding me?” he said, adding that the attacks shock him as he is a man who has dedicated himself to “saving millions of lives.”

“What I do is I’m a public health official and a scientist who’s devoted my entire 50-year medical career, 40 of which have been in public health, to saving lives - and, in fact, saving millions of lives,” he said.

US airlines and crew unions call on Biden administration to JAIL unruly passengers amid surging in-flight violence

Trade groups and unions for US airlines and their employees have urged Attorney General Merrick Garland to help deter violent and otherwise unruly passenger behavior by federally prosecuting and jailing offenders.

"The federal government should send a strong and consistent message through criminal enforcement that compliance with federal law and upholding aviation safety are of paramount authority," said a letter, sent on Monday by a coalition of airline organizations.

Cracking down on egregious passenger behavior through successful and publicized prosecutions, leading to punishments potentially including imprisonment, will help deter flight disruptions and make air travel safer, the groups added.

The appeal for help comes amid a sharp increase in what the Federal Aviation Administration has called "unruly and dangerous" passenger behavior. By May 25, the FAA had already launched investigations of 394 cases of unruly passenger behavior this year, exceeding the total for any previous full year on record. Investigations that involve such serious disruptions as assaulting crew members or disrupting their duties have already more than doubled the full-year totals dating back to 2005, according to FAA data.

The US has seen numerous cases this year of passengers brawling with each other or attacking airline crew members. In one instance, in late May, a woman punched a Southwest Airlines flight attendant and knocked out two of her teeth.

The FAA has adopted stricter enforcement policies, such as ramping up fines, which the airline industry associations said has been helpful. The FAA has accessed a combined $368,000 fines against 21 passengers.

"However, we asked that more be done to deter egregious behavior, which is in violation of federal law and crew member instruction," the letter said.
