Raise your hands if the 2000 election 'chad' fuckery flipped a switch in your mind. You knew from that moment forward there would never be another 'real' election.
I think there is something systemic at play here, with the over-complexity of our laws. We have such high turnover, and frequency of elections, that many things intended for good end up being used for bad by the next guy. No doubt DeSantis had reasons for putting that in, or some could argue they already had that power.
But fuck. It is a kick in the gut. There is just no escaping the police state until you burn the whole fucking system down and start over. Keeps coming back to that conclusion. Then again I concluded it in 2015 and left the country.

Someone observed if you nuked the entire financial system and divided it up evenly among all people, that withing one generation there would still be a 1% in control. I tend to agree with that observation.
