President Joe Biden's approval rating among Iowans is underwater six months into his term in office, with 43% approving of the job he is doing and 52% disapproving in the latest Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll.

Five percent say they aren't sure.

That's a reversal from the last time the question was asked. In March, by a narrow margin, more Iowans approved of the job Biden, a Democrat, was doing as president (47%) than disapproved (44%).

In the June Iowa Poll, Democrats say they overwhelmingly approve of the job Biden is doing, at 89%. The president’s job performance has the approval of 43% of independents and just 6% of Republicans.

The poll also asked about Vice President Kamala Harris’ job performance. More Iowans disapprove, at 50%, than approve, at 42%. Eight percent aren't sure.

The poll of 807 Iowa adults was conducted June 13-16 by Selzer & Co. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

Biden gets positive marks for handling COVID-19

A majority of Iowans continue to approve of the job Biden is doing to handle the COVID-19 pandemic, with 53% approving, 44% disapproving and 3% not sure. Those numbers have also dropped from March, when 57% approved of Biden’s handling of COVID-19, but they still mark his most favorable performance rating on a policy issue.

…

On his handling of COVID, Biden has the approval of 94% of Democrats, 52% of independents and 20% of Republicans.

David Andringa, a 67-year-old poll respondent from Hartley, said he believes Biden is taking credit for the nation’s COVID-19 response that he doesn’t deserve, since the vaccines for the virus weren’t as widely available during former President Donald Trump’s term.

“The drugs weren’t there in the previous administration and now they are, so it’s not really — he didn’t have anything to do with that,” said Andringa, a political independent. “It just so happened it happened in his term in office.”

But Bridget Montgomery, a Democratic poll respondent and Urbandale City Council member, said she’s happy with Biden’s focus on the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I think that’s the biggest issue facing our country right now in terms of getting back on track and I believe that he hit the ground running with a plan to get the vaccine distributed and address the economic needs of our country,” said Montgomery, who is 46.

A plurality of Iowans approve of Biden’s handling of roads, bridges and other infrastructure, at 45%, compared to 40% who disapprove. That includes 78% of Democrats, 46% of independents and 15% of Republicans. On a range of issues tested, infrastructure was the only area aside from the COVID-19 pandemic where more Iowans approve of Biden’s approach than disapprove.

Biden originally proposed a roughly $2.2 trillion infrastructure plan that would upgrade roads, bridges, railroads and airports as well as addressing broadband, electric vehicles, housing and clean energy.

He is currently negotiating with Republicans on a smaller $1.2 trillion infrastructure package, but Congressional Democrats are still considering moving forward with the larger proposal under a procedural method that would only require 50 votes in the Senate. It's unclear what a final deal could look like.

Forty percent of Iowans approve of Biden’s handling of the economy, compared to 56% who disapprove. On criminal justice, 35% approve of Biden’s approach, compared to 52% who disapprove. And 41% approve of his handling of voting laws, compared to 50% who disapprove.

Montgomery said she wishes Biden was doing more to get federal voting legislation passed, including the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the For the People Act, to counteract laws limiting voting in Republican-controlled states, like Iowa.

Both bills have stalled in the U.S. Senate, where Democrats hold a bare 50-vote majority.

Military & Defense , World

Is Joe Biden weak on China? Tens of millions of Americans certainly think so. In the past, the Sleepy Joe moniker has been criticized. However, when it comes to recognizing the threat posed by China, Biden’s somnambulism is clear for all to see.

At the recent G7 summit, Biden pleaded with world leaders to unite against China. Yet, just a few days prior to this, the president signed an executive order revoking Trump-era bans on TikTok and WeChat, two spy tools favored by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Actions, as they say, speak louder than words, and Biden’s executive order spoke volumes.

With 100 million users in the United States, TikTok is a ridiculously popular social media platform. With graphic content easy to come by, it’s also an unsafe one. Now, though, things appear to be getting considerably worse. Earlier this month, TikTok introduced a string of new U.S. based privacy policies. From now on, the app will collect the “faceprints” and “voiceprints” of customers in the United States. The former is comparable to a unique fingerprint (but for your face), while the latter involves collecting unique vocal characteristics.

Why does TikTok, a company with headquarters in China’s capital city, Beijing, require such information? Is Bytedance collecting this data for the CCP? This is not a ludicrous question to ask. After all, the new policies were introduced at the same time as the CCP ordered its biggest tech companies, including ByteDance, to share their data with government representatives. China has a history of weaponizing biometric data, even using it to surveil and torment minority groups in Xinjiang Province.

Human rights groups have issued statements in the past warning world leaders that the CCP is intent on bolstering its already sizable biometric database by whatever means possible. Why would it not use TikTok? With the average person spending close to 90 minutes a day using the app (the equivalent of about 2 full days each month), one shudders to think about the ways in which all this data may be misused.

But TikTok is just one part of the problem. Another company that has been ordered to hand over its data by the Chinese government is Tencent, owner of WeChat, a popular messaging app. In January of this year, Californian attorneys filed a lawsuit against the Chinese company, accusing it of using its messaging app to closely monitor and censor its users. If the CCP is surveilling users in California, are they also monitoring users in other states? With 1.48 million customers in America, this is an important question that needs answering.

The lawsuit reads, “For all that a WeChat user can do on the WeChat platform, what they cannot readily do—including in California—is send messages perceived as critical of the Party-state.” Why? Because every single conversation is monitored. According to the suit, critical messages “tend to be blocked, censored, deleted, and can lead to the blocking, suspension, or deletion of the user’s account.”

With sizeable stakes in the likes of Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group, two of the biggest music conglomerates in the world, Tencent is much more than a messaging app company. It is a huge, multinational corporation. Pony Ma, the company’s CEO, is worth $75 billion, making him one of the wealthiest men in East Asia, and by extension, one of the more powerful.

TikTok and WeChat are Trojan Horses. With both apps, the spying appears to be a feature, not a bug. As I.T. security expert Stefan Strobel has noted, the developers of these apps have “built back doors” and “spy functions” in order to collect lots of data that is then sent back to Chinese officials. Why is it being sent back?

The Chinese government has been collecting vast amounts of vocal and facial data for years. This data is fed into A.I. algorithms, thus making the technology “smarter.” Today, China exports this kind of technology all around the world. Are Americans’ voices and faces being used to train these algorithms? Again, this is not a ludicrous question to ask. To “train” these algorithms effectively, a diverse range of vocal and facial patterns are needed. And the United States is one of the more ethnically and racially diverse countries in the world.

The Trump administration issued executive orders on TikTok and WeChat for a very specific reason: both were, and still are, national security concerns. Last September, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross warned Americans that “China’s malicious collection of American citizens’ personal data” needed to be stopped.. By lowering the security flag, Biden has shown himself to be a weak leader. His inability to see the dangers posed by Chinese-backed technology is understandable, when one realizes that Biden appears to be asleep.

Dr. Michael Yeadon, former Pfizer vice president, warns children are 50 times more likely to be killed by the covid vaccines than the virus itself.

“These covid vaccines are not safe,” he told War Room, Wednesday.

“The gene based design makes your body manufacture virus spike protein, and we know and we’ve known for years that virus spike protein triggers blood clots,” Yeadon explains. “That’s a fundamental problem.”

Dr. Yeadon revealed the astronomically high adverse events from the vaccine alone should have shut them down.

“Here’s the real problem,” he said. “I’m a father and grandfather. Young people are not susceptible to covid-19.

“They’re not at risk,” Dr. Yeadon said. “It’s a crazy thing then to vaccinate them with something that is actually 50 times more likely to kill them than the virus itself.”

“If you look from about January of this year and compare month by month to any previous year…the number is just enormous,” he said. “It’s between 50 and 100 times higher. It’s not my data, it’s the U.S. public data.”

Dr. Yeadon said the VAERS system has reported roughly 5,000 vaccine deaths in the first six months of 2021.

“Normally there’s 200 a year for all vaccines combined,” he said.

“It’s appalling, bluntly,” Dr. Yeadon said. “These should all have been withdrawn.”

Dr. Yeadon also explains how the covid vaccines were “fraudulently” approved — and haven’t even been proven to be effective.

“I’m very pro vaccines,” Yeadon said. “My biggest beef with the vaccines include serious concerns about safety.”

“They have not been sufficiently tested,” he explained. “They were approved for emergency use fraudulently, in my view, because they shouldn’t do it if there are safe and effective medicines. And there are. They have just been hidden.”

Yeadon said hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, azithromycin, and inhaled steroids are all safe and effective at treating the coronavirus. Each were suppressed by Dr. Fauci, the scientific establishment, and the media.
