PA State Sen. Argall says he got call from Trump, agrees audit could restore public’s faith in election process
State Sen. David G. Argall said he had a call from former President Donald Trump after the senator announced a few weeks ago that he would support an audit of Pennsylvania’s November election results.
Trump told him the audit would help “restore people’s faith in democracy,” Argall, R-29, Rush Twp., recalled in an interview Monday.
Argall is using similar language as the notion of an audit makes national headlines.
“An audit would help sort out the facts,” he said.
The audit became a second focus of a rally hosted by Schuylkill Indivisible and Fair Districts PA on Monday in front of the downtown Pottsville office Argall shares with state Reps. Joe Kerwin, R-125, Lykens, and Tim Twardzik, R-123, Butler Twp. (Schuylkill County). Participants called on Argall to “keep that sham audit out” and instead bring a vote on Senate Bill 222 on redistricting.
