>I believe PICKLE refers to military slang for hitting the bomb release button.

A "Pickle", or "in a bit of a pickle" is British slang for a difficult situation, or quandary. In this case, whether to reveal names of corrupt officials + con deal or not. Which option gives a better outcome?

As always with Q, secondary meanings can come into play, and yours (bomb release) certainly applies, but I think in the more euphemistic sense of the BOOM the name release would cause.

>so it is foolish to see the C_A everywhere when they are being guided by another hand.

>Ident that hand!

That would be [P] or one of his minions, and we have thus far been unable to identify [P]. "The CIA" is simply convenient and (mostly) understood shorthand for that.
