Ah, gottcha. That question definitely took my mind to someplace completely different.
I've long found it highly unusual that Norse mythology has the gods living along side men instead of ruling over them from above. From that it would seem clear that any religion which preaches servitude to the gods would view the Norse system as antagonistic. Thus, the word Satan meaning "enemy" would fit naturally to describe Odin, at the head of the Norse pantheon.
I'll also thank you, as you've unknowingly helped me significantly with my own journey here.

To learn the secrets of magic. There is definitely a theme of having to lose something important in order to obtain power in this world.
The one conclusion that keeps recurring for me is that this world isn't as real as it appears, but exactly how is elusive.
