Gladys Berejiklian has announced further rules for NSW as infections in the state infections increased to 82 cases on Saturday.
From 6pm today, all of Greater Sydney, the Blue Mountains, the Central Coast and Wollongong will go into a lockdown with stay-at-home order in place until midnight, Friday July 9. Despite this, no curfew has been implemented.
This means residents will only be able to leave their home for select reasons, which include…
– To purchase essential goods
– Work or education that must be undertaken outside of the home
– To seek medical attention, which includes getting a Covid test
– Outdoor exercise
– Care or compassionate grounds
Previously only residents who lived or worked in four LGAs: Woollahra, Waverley, Randwick and City of Sydney council areas, were under stay-at-home-orders which were originally put in place until 11.59pm, Friday July 2.
Numbers released today reported 29 locally acquired cases in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. This included 12 new cases, while 17 of those were announced yesterday.
