EMP is misunderstood, IMO.

 

This 'THOR' most likely uses directional EM pulse at wavelength which accords with common electronics.

 

This is not EMP. But youtubers refer to this tech as EMP, because youtubers gonna youtube

 

EMP is misnoma based on my research.

 

The issue is actually magnetic. Sharp magnetic pulse causes high current in circuit. High current breaks circuit. Truly this issue is MP, not EMP.

 

The magnetic pulse is of course generated by electrical action, as all magnetism is. So "EMP" is not totally wrong, but misleading

 

Faraday cage does not protect against magnetic pulse. Need high mu material. High mu material shell will pull the pulse into it
