In looking for reason the kiosk in the Q pic might be closed in the afternoon, a quick check of the Adelphi Theatre (for no specific reason) for this year’s holiday season found they have no shows on 24/25 DEC. Not direct proof but an indication theatres might not customarily perform those days.

Also, currently they have generally 2 shows per day: 2:30pm and 7:30pm. Will need to check on other theatres for similar showtimes, but if there is some conformity to that schedule, then the kiosk could still sell tickets in the afternoon for a 7:30pm show.

But our RED BUS kiosk appears to be shuttered in the afternoon.

Now if other theatres follow a custom of no shows on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, then a kiosk might decide to stop selling tickets early on the 23rd of DEC.

People could then try other kiosks, online, or box office for tics. Kiosks could stay closed on 24/25 DEC. And if someone wanted an afternoon show on the 27th, then they could buy their tics that morning.

Only that there is no river traffic atm the ROT1 Q pic is taken.

Anon, can I ask if you or anyone saved the December tides caps that were posted? TideAnon has lost the email with the attachment.

The email was deleted slong with a bunch of old emails. Hoping you might have saved screencaps from that old bread. Tried to go back to that bread but images are lost. I had written out by hand the tides up until 23DEC, which I can guestimate the progression from but would really love to get that screencap.

Well, let’s see what anons might have. Can say that our lunar matches for evenings of 24 and 25DEC are 4:00am and 4:41am.

Based on my last written high tide at 5:04am on 23DEC, with an average procession (increase) in the times of 27-30 minutes, I get roughly high tides of 5:58am on Christmas and 6:25am the day after Christmas. So, if those lunar times are right, we would be looking at 2 hours before high tide on the evening of Christmas Eve and 1hr,45mins before high tide on the evening of Christmas Day.

The rule of twelfths would still mean that we would be seeing an incoming tide level that is 3/4 of high tide, with strong currents visible (water not smooth in appearance.) Note the water in LisaMI6 pic does not appear smooth.

The Rule of Twelfths is a method of determining the TIDE HEIGHT BETWEEN HIGH AND LOW WATERS. In the six-hour period that separates the low and the high waters, the overall level will rise/fall 1/12th in the first hour, 2/12ths in the second hour, 3/12ths in the third hour, 3/12ths in the fourth hour, 2/12ths in the fifth and 1/12th in the last sixth hour. The Rule of Twelfths is also frequently presented as 1:2:3:3:2:1

A check of the London night sky on timeanddate(.)com for 23DEC2013 shows sunset around 4pm.

But a gud ref pic. Could just make out the festooned lights on Hispaniola. Looks like tide is low as well. Would not be a match for a 23DEC late afternoon low because they would have had a high tide around 6pm that day, but there are low tides around that time on the 12. 13, and 14th at 3:30, 4:39 and 6pm respectively.

Anon, may I ask another favor? Would you be so kind to post that very detailed map of Winter Wonderland? See close-up of map provided. Was going over my proof of a star over WildMaus coaster and noticed another light source over the Apres Ski Bar which resembles a “moon”. But it should not be there by my last reckoning of which direction North is in. Want to double-check our agreed upon decision regarding the orientation of the WW footprint. If that was the Moon, then I was all wrong about the picture facing Northwest, 315 degrees. Or perhaps you can clear up the ID of that light source, you having gone over hundreds of hours of vids. Thanks so much.

Sorry, anons. That map is pretty near true to North. That’s Marble Arch at the top (North) and Knightsbridge is to the South. Must be a light from an attraction. Almost got my hopes up. Can’t be the Moon in the Northern sky.
