I knew there was some other connection to the 11.11.18 date and so I looked into it and this is what I found

11.11.18 – The Centennial of the End of World War I

November 11 marks the end of “the war to end all wars,” in which nine million combatants and seven million civilians died. This program will emphasize America’s involvement in the war and will examine in detail the last hours leading up to Armistice at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month and will answer “who was the last man killed in WWI?” (He was an American.) A small exhibit of WWI items will accompany this lecture.

Lectures are presented by Steven Wright, Adult/Teen Librarian, and will last 60 to 90 minutes. Discussion and questions are encouraged!
