Texas Attorney Ken Paxton: Over 500 Election Fraud Cases Still Need to Be Heard in Court

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced this weekend that there are still 500 election fraud cases that still need to be heard in court.

This comes as Governor Greg Abbott promised a new election integrity bill in the state as well as bail reform.

Texas Attorney Gen. Ken Paxton has announced that more than 500 election fraud cases are currently waiting to be heard in court. Over the weekend, Paxton relayed on Twitter that his team will prosecute every instance of voter fraud.

This comes after he shared information about a woman being arrested for multiple counts of election fraud in a 2018 local election. Monica Mendez was convicted on seven counts of illegal voting, eight counts of unlawfully assisting a voter, eight counts of unlawful possession of ballots and eight counts of election fraud.

In response to the case, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) said his team plans to pursue laws for more secure elections.

Paxton has been a staunch defender of election integrity.

Israel’s Apology Tour: Foreign Minister Tells Blinken ‘Mistakes Were Made’ by Netanyahu in U.S.-Israel Relationship

New Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid told U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken on Sunday that “mistakes were made” by the previous Israeli government in the U.S.-Israel relationship, appearing to blame Benjamin Netanyahu for an Obama-era rift and for U.S. Democrats’ shift against Israel.

Bipartisan support for Israel in the United States was harmed during the Benjamin Netanyahu years, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid told US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Rome on Sunday.

“In the past few years, mistakes were made,” Lapid said in a statement before their meeting. “Israel’s bipartisan standing was hurt. We will fix those mistakes together.”

Speaking at the opening of their first meeting since he became foreign minister, Lapid said he had spoken with Democratic and Republican leaders over the past few days.

“I reminded them all that Israel shares America’s most basic values — freedom, democracy, free markets, the constant search for peace.”

Though the American left blamed Netanyahu for the rift at the time, it was the deliberate result of Obama administration policy to create “distance” between the U.S. and Israel, as former Israel ambassador and historian Michael Oren wrote.

Obama also pursued a nuclear deal with Iran over Israeli objections, shared by both left and right there. Under his influence, and with the support of group like J Street, more Democrats began opposing Israel and Israeli policies openly.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu chose to oppose Obama’s pursuit of the Iran deal openly, addressing a special joint session of Congress to make his case. Left-wing Democrats boycotted his speech, enraged by open opposition to Obama.

While Netanyahu’s approach was controversial, it helped build opposition to the Iran deal. His objections to the deal were echoed by Republicans, including President Donald Trump, under whom U.S.-Israel relations were their strongest.

The left-wing drift of American politics in the wake of the “Resistance” to Trump brought anti-Israel — and antisemitic — politicians like Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) to the fore.

Lapid did not, apparently, criticize them.

Former Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon, speaking to Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM 125, said he had advised the new Israeli government not to waste time criticizing its predecessor, but to prove itself instead.

Kevin McCarthy Releases House GOP ‘Framework’ for Fighting Big Tech Censorship

House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy on Sunday night released a “framework” he argued to House Republicans would help rein in Big Tech companies from engaging in censorship and silencing of conservatives.

In a letter sent to House Republicans on Sunday night, McCarthy announced the framework as an apparent counterweight to a series of antitrust bills which last week passed the House Judiciary Committee with largely Democrat support but also some Republicans, most notably Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO).

“Just days before the 2018 primary election, Google search results for ‘California Republicans’ identified our ideology as ‘Nazism,’” McCarthy wrote:

At the same time, conservatives like Devin Nunes and Donald Trump Jr. were shadowbanned on Twitter. For pro-life groups like Live Action and others, the discrimination wasn’t subtle at all. Since then, the examples of conservative censorship and bias across internet platforms has proliferated. Each one of you are all too familiar with how Big Tech and its overwhelmingly liberal executives want to set the agenda and silence conservatives. But Big Tech doesn’t just have a free speech problem. It has an anti-competition problem too.

The letter from McCarthy is heavy on criticism of Google — and specifically mentions several other Big Tech companies like Twitter, Amazon, and Apple — but does not mention Facebook. A House GOP leadership aide told Breitbart News this framework would apply across the board to everyone including Facebook, though. It is notable that McCarthy’s letter also cites efforts specifically from Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA). Jordan, in particular, is noteworthy because he is the founding chairman and chairman emeritus of the House Freedom Caucus who also serves as the House Judiciary Committee ranking member and holds lots of sway with conservatives and has been at loggerheads with Buck on the approach to combatting Big Tech for a while now.

Five arrested, one wanted for sexual assault of a minor in Carolina Beach

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Five people have been arrested and a sixth person is wanted in connection with sexual assault of a minor in Carolina Beach.

The arrests follow a 2.5 year long criminal investigation by the Carolina Beach Police Department.

According to police, a 14-year-old girl was assaulted at a house party on October 31, 2018. Multiple attendees took video and photos of the assault.

Those arrested include:

Austen Charles Tounsel Montouri: One count of sexual exploitation of a minor – $100,000 secured bond.

Brayden David Walker: One count of second degree forcible rape, one count of second degree forcible sex offense, one count of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor – $50,000 secured bond.

Corey Tate Webster: Two counts of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor, one count of second degree forcible sex offense, three counts of assault on law enforcement – $130,000 secured bond.

Nicholas James Foutty: One count second degree forcible rape, one count statutory rape of a child, one count statutory sex offense of a child, one count of second degree forcible sex offense, three counts of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor, two counts of indecent liberties with a child – $100,000 secured bond.

Riley Scott Crouch: One count of statutory sex offense of a minor, one count of second degree forcible sex offense, three counts of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor – $125,000 secured bond.

Patrick Austin Wise: Outstanding warrant for one count of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

The Chief of Defence Staff was told to isolate for 10 days after testing positive for the virus and close contacts were traced.

According to the Telegraph, NHS Test and Trace has now ordered Ben Wallace and the heads of the Navy, RAF and Strategic Command to isolate for the same period of time after coming into contact with Sir Nicholas.

The newspaper reports that the 62-year-old attended a summit with Defence Secretary Mr Wallace and Admiral Sir Tim Fraser, Vice-Chief of the Defence Staff, at the Defence Academy at Shrivenham, Oxfordshire, on Thursday.

Multiple People Shot at Hooters Restaurant In Long Beach

LONG BEACH, CA – On Saturday, around 7:30 p.m., officers were in the area of Shoreline Drive and Aquarium Way when they were flagged down regarding a shooting that just occurred outside of a Hooters restaurant. The officers, who were working as additional patrol resources assigned to the area on overtime, broadcasted information to other officers in the area, and medical aid was immediately rendered to three shooting victims until Long Beach Fire Personnel arrived on scene. Within minutes, assisting officers were able to locate and detain a vehicle with three suspects believed to be involved in the shooting.

The three victims were transported to local hospitals by the Long Beach Fire Department. The first victim, a 23-year-old male adult, was struck in the upper torso and he is listed in critical condition. A second victim, an 18-year-old male adult, was struck in the upper torso and he is listed in stable condition. A third victim, a 13-year-old male juvenile, was struck in the lower torso and he is listed in stable condition.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victims were standing in front of a business, when gunshots were fired at them from a vehicle driving by. The three victims and a nearby business were struck by the gunfire. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a possible suspect vehicle that was seen fleeing the area and detained three possible suspects who were inside the vehicle. A firearm was recovered from inside the vehicle. There were multiple crime scenes located with evidence collected, as well as surveillance video from the area.

A motive for the shooting is still undetermined, but detectives are investigating it as possibly being gang related. Gang detectives responded to the scene and conducted an investigation. Three arrests were made after the suspects from the vehicle were positively identified as being involved in the shooting:

Jonathan Rodriguez-Zamora, a 23-year-old resident of Wilmington. He was booked on three counts of attempted murder, one count of shooting into an inhabited dwelling, carrying a concealed weapon, and driver permitting a person to discharge a firearm from a vehicle. He is currently being held on $3,000,000 bail.

A 15-year-old male juvenile was booked for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and shooting into an inhabited dwelling.

A 17-year-old male juvenile was booked for attempted murder, shooting into an inhabited dwelling, altering a firearm, and carrying a loaded firearm on a person or in a vehicle while in a public place.

Chief Robert Luna had the following message:

“We had additional officers in the area working overtime who were able to immediately render aid to the victims and also detain three people of interest. I would like to thank all of the community members who assisted the officers in the area by quickly providing valuable information during this tragic incident. I would also like to thank the Long Beach Police Officers who acted swiftly to render aid to all three victims and risked their lives to safely apprehend the dangerous armed subjects believed to be responsible for this crime.”
