AZ State Senator Authored Ballot Harvest Ban Law: ‘SCOTUS Found Exact Opposite of Democrats’ Claims’

In an exclusive interview, the Arizona State Senator who authored the ballot harvest ban law upheld on Thursday by the U.S. Supreme Court told Breitbart News late Thursday night, “The Supreme Court found the exact opposite of what Democrats have claimed.”

“Thursday’s Supreme Court ruling in Brnovich v. Democratic National Committee affirms that I as the primary sponsor of HB 2023, and my colleagues in the legislature who voted for it, did not do it with discriminatory intent. That’s what the Democrats have been saying for five years,” State Senator Michelle Ugenti-Rita (R-3) told Breitbart News.

“The Democrats owe Arizona voters an apology,” she added.

Ugenti-Rita elaborated on why the Supreme Court upheld HB 2023.

“I agree with Justice Alito when he wrote in the majority opinion that ‘Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act provides vital protection against discriminatory voting rules, and no one suggests that discrimination in voting has been extirpated, or that the threat has been eliminated,’ ” she added.

“And I also agree with the very next sentence in Justice Alito’s opinion, that ‘Section 2 does not deprive the States of their authority to establish non-discriminatory voting rules.’ That’s exactly what we did when we passed HB 2023 in 2016, and that’s why the Supreme Court ruled to uphold that law with a six to three majority vote,” she continued.

“The big takeaway is that a State can take preventive measures against election fraud without waiting for that fraud to happen first,” Ugenti-Rita concluded.

She also pointed out that she agreed with the very first sentence of Justice Alito’s opinion, in which he stated, “Arizona law generally makes it very easy to vote.”

Ugenti-Rita noted that she has been working on election law issues for many years, first in the Arizona House of Representatives, and now in the Arizona State Senate.

“I could see the fight for our constitutional republic was going to revolve around election law. This is where the manipulation is happening. This is where bad actors can tip the scales in their favor by weakening and manipulating our election laws,” she noted.

Ugenti-Rita released her first statement on the Supreme Court decision Thursday morning in a tweet.

“Five years ago I authored Arizona’s ban on ballot harvesting to protect the integrity of our elections and ensure free and fair elections in Arizona. Despite Democrats’ continual effort to exploit the judicial system to circumvent the will of the public and levy false accusations of racism and suppression, I’m gratified the U.S. Supreme Court saw through the rhetoric on behalf of the voters,” she tweeted.

PATEL: Why Are Republicans Agreeing To Send Armies Of IRS Agents After American Small Businesses?

If you wanted to find the group getting the rawest deal in 2021 America, you might start with small-business owners. Many are finding themselves working 60- or 80-hour weeks just to scrape by. During the height of COVID-19, these companies were especially beaten down. Between Jan. 1, 2020, and Dec. 31, 2020, about 30% of U.S. small businesses closed, while total small-business revenue decreased by 31%, according to Economic Tracker. During the same period, the stock market boomed, and multinational corporations continued to thrive. The effects of this economic destruction are apparent in communities all over the country. Boarded-up storefronts on main streets across America are the norm.

Given this dynamic, it’s almost incomprehensible that Senate Republicans are about to help pass an infrastructure package that unleashes the IRS to collect more revenue through aggressive policing of small businesses.

Our tax code is massively complex. Huge companies have armies of lawyers and accountants to navigate the complexity. As a result, they often pay extremely low tax rates. Small businesses do not have this advantage. A dentist in America will often end up paying higher effective taxes than a billionaire hedge fund owner. The dentist makes a good living, but when you add in education, health care and other expenses, it would be hard to call him rich. We have had major debates on how progressive the tax code should be (should the rich pay higher wages, or should we have a flat tax system, for example), but nobody outwardly advocates for a regressive tax system, where the rich pay less. That’s precisely what we have at the top end of the tax scale. People are on to it, and it’s leading to much of the political dysfunction we’re experiencing.

In the face of all this, Senate Republicans’ answer to fund the bipartisan infrastructure package is to unleash more IRS agents on small businesses to close the so-called tax gap. The tax gap is the difference between what the IRS calculates it’s owed and what is actually paid each year. The IRS claimed the gap was $600 billion in 2019. That’s a lot of money. If this were a matter of nabbing tax cheats, it would be a great solution. That’s not what we are talking about, unfortunately. The tax code’s complexity leads to confusion and inadvertent errors much more than it leads to actual fraud.

Held on April 14, it featured three faculty presenters teaching instructors how to foster an anti-racist environment in their classrooms. But it’s not just racism the presenters encourage participants to root out.

One of the workshop leaders, Kelli Pyron Alvarez, explained in the recording how undergraduate students in one of her introductory English courses are “a little bit more emboldened to be racist” (17:17). To combat this, she forbids huge swaths of classroom speech, including “derogatory remarks, critiques, and hate speech,” as well as “white supremacist ideas or sources,” unless the student is using those sources to dismantle racism.

Exposed: Congressman Trying to “Shut Down” Cryptocurrency Gets Biggest Donations From Big Banks and Financial Institutions

Millions of Americans have bought into forms of digital, decentralized money known as cryptocurrency, valuing its privacy and independence from government meddling. Naturally, politicians in Washington want to rain on the parade and shut down the newfangled currencies— like Bitcoin and Ethereum—that are beyond their control.

One of the biggest opponents of cryptocurrency in Washington is Congressman Brad Sherman, a California Democrat who has in the past called for cryptos to be banned. At a Wednesday hearing for the House Committee on Financial Services, Sherman harshly criticized cryptocurrency and renewed his calls for its prohibition.

“Cryptocurrency is something you can bet on, but if people want to have the animal spirits to take risks, I’d prefer them to invest in equity markets to support the building of American companies, or the California lottery, to support the schools in my state,” Sherman said. “Cryptocurrencies are highly volatile, so if one person makes a million dollars… and nine lose $100,000, Coinbase makes money, the millionaire goes on TV and says how wonderful it is, and nine others do not retire in dignity.”

The congressman also claimed that “evading the know-your-customer rule is the one thing cryptocurrencies have as an advantage to the US dollar.”

“Cryptocurrencies have the political support of the ‘patriotic’ anarchists who are rooting for tax evasion,” Sherman concluded. “I hope we shut it down.” (Emphasis added).

The California congressman gets so much wrong here that it’s difficult to know where to begin.

For one, Sherman seems to think that his personal views on how to invest money should be superimposed on all Americans. Simply put, the congressman and his Washington pals think they know better, and little people like you or me are too foolish to make these decisions for ourselves. This is not only arrogant but incorrect.

You and I have infinitely more knowledge and familiarity with our own financial situation—acceptable levels of risk, investment goals, etc.—than detached politicians and bureaucrats could ever have. It logically follows that we will make better decisions for ourselves than if a top-down, one-size-fits-all approach is crammed down on us from Washington.

(I mean, the congressman is telling people they should put their money in the California lottery, and the odds for the “Grand Prize” are about 1 in 41.4 million. We’re supposed to trust his financial advice?)

Moreover, Sherman’s rhetoric about a select few cryptocurrency winners getting rich off the backs of losers is a classic example of the “zero-sum fallacy.” It’s economically untrue that wealth gains must necessarily come from someone else’s losses. Indeed, when transactions are voluntary, they must inherently serve both parties’ interests. (If they didn’t, the parties wouldn’t agree to it!) So, the picture the congressman paints of cryptocurrency as exploitation is by no stretch of the imagination the reality. People can gain value without others always having to lose.

Man charged after scuffle with police over facemasks

Police have charged a man with assaulting police after breaches of the public health act were detected in the NSW Southern Highlands yesterday.

Officers visited a Bowral cafe, south-west of Sydney, after midday on Thursday after they received calls from concerned residents.

Police said they observed employees and customers not wearing face masks while inside the premises and spoke with the manager, a 62-year-old woman.

The woman said she had "no intentions" of complying with the current orders and was arrested after refusing to provide police her details.

A 61-year-old female customer came into the store also not wearing a face mask.

Police requested the woman put a mask on or leave the store, but she refused.

The employee intervened, demanding police leave and both women were arrested.

Bennett says Israel will never hold back against enemies ‘near and far’

At ceremony marking death of Theodor Herzl, PM vows Jewish state will defend itself ‘firmly, creatively and consistently’ in face of threats

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Wednesday vowed Israel will never hold itself back from striking its enemies in self-defense if necessary.

“The State of Israel will always defend itself against any external threat and will not hold itself back from ensuring our security,” Bennett said at a ceremony in Jerusalem marking the anniversary of the death of Theodor Herzl, the founder of modern Zionism.

He added: “We will act firmly, creatively and consistently against threats both near and far.”

Bennett did not refer to any specific threat but his remarks came as the United States holds talks on rejoining the international accord restricting Iran’s nuclear program, a move Israel opposes.

The new premier last week singled out Iran when vowing not to allow any “existential threat” against Israel. He also hinted at Israeli involvement in a recent attack at an Iranian nuclear site — an alleged drone assault on an Iranian centrifuge production facility outside Tehran which reportedly damaged the site.

The Ruling Class Wants A Government-Run Credit Reporting System

House lawmakers on Tuesday called for sweeping reforms to the credit reporting industry with some politicians going so far as proposing a nationally run system, saying the three major bureaus are failing Americans.

Three pieces of legislation were put forth for discussion, including the National Credit Reporting Agency Act that “would establish the Public Credit Registry (PCR) within the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, creating a public option for consumers who choose to utilize it.”

“This is a system that fails people with perfect credit that may be victims of identity theft,” Chairwoman Maxine Waters said at the Financial Services Committee hearing. “This is a system that fails people who get caught in a debt trap because of predatory lending, and this is a system that fails people who don’t have the means to dispute errors that reporting agencies make.” –Yahoo Finance

A controversial Florida high school teacher, who dubbed herself 'biology bombshell,' has resigned before the district could fire her after being accused by a group of girls of making inappropriate comments about her personal life, discussing teenage boys' bodies and joking about having sex with students.

Tiffany Johnson, 39, has left Howard W Blake High School in Tampa Bay after more than five years teaching biology there, citing unspecified 'personal reasons.' She was not charged with any crime.

'It was clear that Ms. Johnson on many occasions made inappropriate comments and overall did not conduct herself in a professional manner,' a spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Public Schools told the Tampa Bay Times, which broke this story. 'As our district was moving toward termination, Ms. Johnson resigned.'

Johnson's departure came months after Madisyn Slater, a senior at the school, first raised the alarm about the teacher's outrageous classroom antics, which allegedly included telling students she was not wearing underwear, wondering aloud about the size of a student's penis, and discussing her vibrator.

In her February 2021 email to School Superintendent Addison Davis, Slater said she has been hearing stories about Johnson from her peers for four years, and urged officials to look into it.

Davis wrote back, thanking Slater for speaking out and assuring her that the district would look into her complaint 'immediately.'

Sure enough, just days later she was called down to the assistant principal's office and asked to fill out an official witness statement, along with her friend Jessica Chapa.

Chapa, who had Johnson as a teacher, recounted her inappropriate comments, including how she could not wait until her students turned 18, presumably so they could consent to sex with her.

Soon, more female students came forward with tales detailing Johnson's seemingly boundary-crossing conduct.

The Media May Be Responsible for Countless COVID Deaths

Late last year I wrote how a personal bout with COVID-19 changed my perspective and gave me hope that the pandemic wasn’t as dire as many made it out to be. My perspective changed in part thanks to a private practice doctor who had great success in treating COVID. According to him, COVID, if treated early and with a cocktail of various drugs, isn’t the death sentence we’ve been told it was.

As time goes on, it becomes apparent that my doctor friend isn’t the only physician who has this knowledge. The now well-known “COVID Hunter,” Dr. Joseph Varon, has been interviewed hundreds of times on various media networks highlighting the good doctor’s faithfulness and success in saving patients infected with COVID.

Those interviews, however, left out a key component of Varon’s success, and not because he has tried to hide his secret from the public. Instead, Varon’s experience shows how both the news media and social media platforms censor truth, spinning stories away from good news and toward fearmongering.

Varon’s story came to light in an interview done by former Fox News reporter Ivory Hecker. Hecker recently blew the whistle on her Fox station, documenting how she was reprimanded for reporting on positive news regarding drugs such as Hydroxychloroquine. Not surprisingly, Hecker was fired for this whistleblowing action, and now has produced an in-depth interview with Varon in order to present the truth she was not allowed to report on months ago.

According to Hecker, the death rate for patients under Varon’s care is about half that of the in-patient hospital death rate reported by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The reason for this success is credited to Varon’s use of the MATH+ Protocol, along with the drugs-which-must-not-be-named, otherwise known as Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin. While Varon has begun to phase out the former due to pressure over its political disfavor, he recently co-authored peer-reviewed research in the American Journal of Therapeutics on the effectiveness of Ivermectin. One of his co-authors, Dr. Pierre Kory, says that “the United States is in a media lockdown” over the potentially lifesaving information presented in this research, even though there is much interest among the general public.

Besides facing media censorship during interviews over the effectiveness of this treatment plan, Varon says he also has experienced censorship on social media noting, “Every time I use the word Ivermectin I go to Facebook jail.” When asked if more lives would be saved if word got out about the effectiveness of these drugs, Varon adamantly responded in the affirmative, but then asked how the word can get out if he, who has given over 1,600 media interviews in recent months, can’t even get the message through the media gauntlet.

The legal team was announced today as “Experienced criminal barrister Mark Higgins will be the lead prosecutor. Vania Holt, assisted by Eric Zhang, will be the solicitors and former senior sex crimes detective Susan Campbell will be our investigator”.

The team has been assembled by Victor Kline who is a barrister and leader of the new political party The New Liberals. Mr Kline first announced that he intended to go after Porter in court when he put the below message on Twitter on Sunday (27/6/21):
