I know a local farmer who has never grown a cash crop since I've known him but claims he gets a gubmint check every year to not grow on his land so he grows a little corn and grain to attract deer/elk and leases his land out to hunters. He owns an excavation company for a day job. Not a true farmer IMO, more of a scammer but he seems to be doing quite well.
