Independence Day: Marvel Comics Makes Captain America Say American Dream ‘Is a Lie’

Just ahead of Independence Day, Marvel Comics featured a new Captain America issue in which the Captain slams the American dream as a false promise.

The first issue of the new series, “The United States of Captain America,” by writer Christopher Cantwell, was published on June 30, only four days before the country traditionally celebrates its day of independence from Great Britain.

As the issue begins, Steve Rogers — the original Cap — grouses about how America is built on “lies.”

“I’m loyal to nothing. Except the dream,” Rogers says early in the issue. “Here’s the thing about a dream, though. A dream isn’t real… I’m starting to think America actually has two dreams. And one lie. The first American dream is the one that isn’t real. It’s one some people expect to just be handed to them. And then they get angry when it disappears. When the truth is, it never really existed in the first place.”

He adds that the dream with the “white picket fences” is a lie that “doesn’t get along nicely with reality. Other cultures. Immigrants. The poor.”

Rogers goes on to take a swipe at those who favor tougher immigration laws, saying, “We’re at our best when we keep no one out. A good dream is shared. Shared radically. Shared with everyone. When something isn’t shared, it can become the American lie.”

The series features the Captain and his superhero pal Sam Wilson (who is portrayed by Anthony Mackie in the live-action Marvel movies) going on a quest to chase down the thief who stole the Captain’s original red, white, and blue shield. And during the crime-busting adventure, the pair crisscross America, meeting new Captain America figures from different regions of the country, including a gay Captain, a Native American Captain, and a black woman who claims her own version of the character, replete with her own shield.

Marvel has given over Cap to woke subversion for some time. Back in 2010, for instance, the Captain and Sam were seen saying Tea Party conservatives were a threat to America. The comics giant later apologized for the panels and said that the offensive parts would be removed in later compilations of the issue.

Flash forward to today, and only a few months ago, Captain America writer Ta-Nehisi Coates pushed out an issue that cast conservative philosopher and writer Jordan Peterson’s ideas as on par with the hateful ideas of the series’ Nazi villain, The Red Skull.

Tangentially, in the recent highly woke Disney/Marvel streaming TV series, The Falcon and Winter Soldier, as he takes on the mantle of Captain America, Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson delivers a monologue in which he portrays America as an oppressive place that needs change.

GOP Sen. Marshall: ‘Public Shaming’ Response Needed for China’s Role in COVID — ‘Not Just’ the U.S., But Other Countries As Well

During this week’s broadcast of FNC’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) urged a “shaming” policy for Mainland China for its role in the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.

Marshall pointed efforts by China to impede investigations into the origins of the virus.

“They do have an investigation underway, but I’m not expecting them to find anything that we don’t already know,” Marshall said. “What this reminds me of is, you arrest the godfather, and all the witnesses start dying. And, in this case, the witnesses, though, are the genomic banks that we have sitting in there. So, in January 2020, February 2020, the NIH erased 500 genetic sequences from the bat lady that she was storing in the NIH laboratory bank. Going back to 2019, in September, the bat lady erased a bunch of viruses from these [Wuhan Institute of Virology] laboratory banks that we had access to.”

“So the witnesses are all dying,” he continued. “There may be something, though, on the cloud server that we can dig up. We’re finding bits and pieces everywhere. But what we have to do is start holding China accountable. We can — certainly, we can sanction them. We can seize their assets. But what they need is public shaming, that we have to shame them, and not just the United States, but we need other countries to shame them as well. We need to start bringing in product lines, manufacturing jobs back to the United States, do all those things to publicly battle them.”

OPEC On Verge Of Collapse After Saudis, UAE Refuse To Budge

Is the world about to go through another 2014 Thanksgiving massacre when OPEC collapsed sending the price of oil crashing and unleashing a brief if catastrophic wave of destruction across the US shale sector?

That's what commodity traders are wondering this long weekend when just two days after the UAE refused to fall inline with the rest of OPEC+, late on Sunday, in a Bloomberg TV interview, Saudi Prince Abdulaziz said that “we have to extend,” referring to the deal agreed upon by all but the UAE on Friday, according to which oil production would be increased by 400kbd over the next few months, while also extending the broader production quota agreement until the end of 2022 for the sake of stability: “the extension puts lots people in their comfort zone” said the Saudi, adding that Abu Dhabi was isolated within the OPEC+ alliance.

"It’s the whole group versus one country, which is sad to me but this is the reality", the Saudi summarized the potentially explosive situation, which has seen Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates crank up the tension in their OPEC standoff which as Bloomberg summarizes, has left the global economy guessing how much oil it will get next month.

The bitter clash between the Saudis and UAE has forced OPEC+ to halt talks twice already, with the next meeting scheduled for Monday, putting markets in limbo as oil continues its inflationary surge above $75 a barrel. With the cartel discussing its production policy not only for the rest of the year, but also into 2022, the solution to the standoff will shape the market and industry into next year.

While traditionally the oil cartel has been shy of publicity, keeping its spats behind close doors, on Sunday the fight between the two key producers broke into public view with both countries, which typically keep their grievances within the walls of the royal palaces, airing their differences on television, with Riyadh insisting on its plan, backed by other OPEC+ members including Russia, that the group should both increase production over the next few months, while also extending the broader agreement reached in the aftermath of the oil price collapse of 2020 until the end of 2022 to avoid a production glut.

Just hours earlier, the Emirati energy minister, Suhail al-Mazrouei, again rejected the Saudi-proposed deal extension, supporting only a short-term increase and demanding better terms for itself for 2022.

“The UAE is for an unconditional increase of production, which the market requires,” Al-Mazrouei told Bloomberg Television earlier on Sunday. Yet the decision to extend the deal until the end of 2022 is “unnecessary to take now.”

What happens next is binary: while on one hand, Abu Dhabi is forcing OPEC into a difficult position: accept its requests, or risk unraveling the cartel without an output agreement in place, which would squeeze an already tight market, sending crude prices sharply higher. But only briefly because as Bloomberg notes, a more dramatic scenario is also in play - a repeat of Thanksgiving 2014 - when OPEC risks breaking down entirely, risking a free-for-all that would crash prices in a repeat of the crisis last year. Back then, it was a disagreement between Saudi Arabia and Russia that triggered a punishing price war, which according to some sparked the March 2020 liquidation panic, not the covid shutdown panic.

Death Toll Rises In Eastern Ukraine Amid Joint NATO Sea Breeze Exercise

Amid the Kiev’s glorious reports of major joint naval drills with NATO member-states in the Black Sea, there is still a military crisis in Eastern Ukraine that is claiming lives of soldiers from both sides.

On July 4, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (UAF) was killed as a result of shelling in the Donbas region. This is reported by the press service of the Joint Forces Operation on Facebook.

“Since the beginning of the day, 5 violations of the ceasefire regime have been recorded… one serviceman from the Joint Forces was fatally injured,” the report says.

According to the reports, the UAF positions were shelled with grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns and small arms.

According to unconfirmed reports, the victim was captain and head of the medical center of the UAF 93rd brigade. He was killed in fire exchange near the village of Grigorovka.

The DPR People’s Militia has not yet commented on the claims.

At the same time, the shellings are reported on the territory of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) on a daily basis. On July 2, as a result of the shelling, a soldier of the LPR was reportedly killed. This was announced by the official representative of the Defense Ministry of the Republic Ivan Filiponenko.

The representative of the defense ministry noted that due to the shelling of Ukrainian forces, the servicemen of the People’s Militia of the LPR were forced to open return fire on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The representative office of the LPR in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime (JCCC) clarified that the areas of Zolotoye-5 and the village of Kalinovo were under UAF fire that was carried out from 82-mm mortars, SPG-9 machine-gun anti-tank grenade launchers, AGS-17 automatic machine-gun grenade launchers and small arms.

The victims on the both sides of frontlines in Eastern Ukraine were reported amid the joint exercises in Ukrainian-NATO exercises Sea Breeze 2021 in the Black Sea that hosted participants from more than 30 countries and are the biggest in the last 20 years.

On July 4, on the occasion of Ukrainian National Navy Day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited not a Ukrainian warship, but the destroyer USS Ross in the port of Odessa.

Bill Cosby blasts Howard University for Phylicia Rashad response

“America’s Dad’’-turned-sex fiend Bill Cosby isn’t too happy about Howard University’s rebuke of actress Phylicia Rashad’s tweet praising his release.

The historically black university in Washington, DC said the comment from Rashad, its incoming College of Fine Arts dean, “lacked sensitivity” — outraging Cosby, who has been posting non-stop on Instagram and Facebook since his sex-assault conviction was overturned Wednesday.

“Howard University you must support ones Freedom of Speech (Ms. Rashad), which is taught or suppose to be taught everyday at that renowned law school, which resides on your campus,” Cosby said in a nearly incomprehensible statement reported by Deadline.

The fallen funnyman’s statement blasted the news media, who he said “are the Insurrectionists, who stormed the Capitol.”

“Those same Media Insurrectionists are trying to demolish the Constitution of these United State of America on this Independence Day,” the statement released by Cosby rep Andrew Wyatt continued. “No technicality — it’s a violation of ones rights & we the people stand in support of Ms. Phylicia Rashad.”

Cosby spent about two and a half years behind bars following his conviction on aggravated indecent assault charges for drugging and raping former pal Andrea Constand in 2004.

Preview, The Fourth Branch of Government

After many years of granular research about the intelligence apparatus inside our government, in the summer of 2020 I visited Washington DC to ask specific questions.

My goal was to go where the influence agents within government actually operate, and discover the people deep inside the institutions no-one pays any attention to.

It was during this process when I discovered how information is purposefully put into containment silos; essentially a formal process to block the flow of information between agencies, and between the original branches. While frustrating to discover, the silo effect was important to understand because comprehension of communication networks leads to our ability to reconcile conflict between what we perceive and what’s actually taking place.

In the next few days I am going to explain how the Intelligence Branch works: (1) to control every other branch of government; (2) how it functions as an entirely independent branch of government with no oversight; (3) how and why it was created to be independent from oversight; (4) what is the current mission of the IC Branch, and most importantly (5) who operates it.

When we understand how the Fourth Branch works, questions about our dysfunctional U.S. modern government are answered. Additionally, the motives and intentions of people inside the institutions start to reconcile. Before beginning a deeper explanation, here’s an example almost everyone overlooked. Remind yourself of a question raised in March of 2017 by Elise Stefanik, and a set of follow-up questions that were never asked.

In April of 2016 the FBI launched a counterintelligence operation against presidential candidate Donald Trump. The questioning about that operation is what Rep. Stefanik cites in March of 2017, approximately 11 months later.
