Kind of a wild spin put on the event… per military record, 1 british soldier was wounded, 4 americans dead, and 24 americans wounded.. There weren't heaps of bodies holding up the flag.. The british were trying to intimidate the Americans with long range guns that had horrible accuracy.. The american cannons couldn't come close to reaching the ships at the same range, so they had to just sit there while the Brits took their best aim and prayed to hit anything, but mostly missed.
