I think if you read the article carefully you'll find the tunnels were in the debris, not the ground
what I figured after reading several times, like whoever was writing the article did a bad translation
all ears, I grew up on west coast, back when they didn't even build 2 stories cause stuff sinks, not an engineer though, just old timer with fam down that way, swamps, sinkholes and the like, love to hear how it's done, here waiting for it actually, still think that article is not accurate but doesn't mean it can't be done
