A Chinese ‘Spy Recruitment’ Scholar is Now Running Joe Biden’s NSA Personnel Department.

Thomas Zimmerman – a Special Assistant to Joe Biden on National Security Agency personnel – formerly served as a visiting scholar at a Chinese Communist Party think-tank labeled as a “front group for Chinese intelligence collection and overseas spy recruitment” by the FBI, The National Pulse can reveal.

The stunning revelation – that Joe Biden’s intelligence apparatus relies on the recruitment from a recent collaborator with the Chinese Communist Party – comes just weeks after the G7 summit where Western nations pledged tougher measures against an increasingly aggressive Beijing.

Zimmerman’s influence over the National Security Agency (NSA) also follows explosive allegations from Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Carlson recently claimed the agency has covertly accessed his emails and texts. The NSA did not outright deny the allegations.

Shanghai Academy.

While working at New York University’s Center on International Cooperation, Zimmerman doubled as a fellow at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS). SASS has been flagged by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for its close ties to the Chinese Communist Party’s top spy agency: the Ministry of State Security.

SASS – which the FBI explicitly labels a “front group for Chinese intelligence collection and overseas spy recruitment” – was a key player in a 2019 criminal case involving a retired Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operative selling classified U.S. defense documents to the Chinese Communist Party.

The American operative, Kevin Mallory, was contacted by SASS officials via LinkedIn to begin the relationship that culminated in a 20-year prison sentence for Mallory.

As a result, the FBI has described the Chinese Communist Party as dependent upon SASS employees to serve “spotters and assessors” of potential Western spies. Ministry of State Security officers – described by the FBI as keen on “influencing the foreign policy of other countries” – have also “used SASS affiliation as cover identities.”

The Biden White House’s budget report, which details the salaries of Executive Office of the President employees, reveals that Zimmerman is serving as a Special Assistant to the President on National Security Agency Personnel with a yearly salary of $110,000.

During the transition, Zimmerman served as a Deputy Lead for National Security Personnel.

He also “hosted an academic salon” alongside Chinese Communist Party adviser Li Lifan on “topics concerning counter-terrorism in Afghanistan and Pakistan, security issues in Central Asia, the US perspective on the One Belt One Road initiative, and security issues in South Asia” at the Shanghai Institute of American Studies (SIAS).

Belarus Sentences Former Presidential Contender to 14 Years

KYIV, Ukraine—The Supreme Court in Belarus on Tuesday sentenced a former contender in the 2020 presidential race to 14 years in prison on corruption charges in a case that has been widely seen as politically motivated.

Viktor Babariko, the former chief executive of a Russia-owned bank, aspired to challenge Belarus’s authoritarian president, Alexander Lukashenko, in last year’s election. But Babariko was arrested two months before the August 2020 vote. His arrest drew thousands of protesters to the streets. At the time, he was widely perceived as a top contender in the race.

Babariko has remained in jail since his arrest and rejected the corruption charges against him as politically driven. On Tuesday, he was found guilty of taking a bribe and money laundering. The court handed him a 14-year prison sentence and a fine roughly the equivalent of $57,000. He will not be able to appeal the Supreme Court verdict.

Lukashenko’s reelection to a sixth term last year prompted months of mass protests, the largest of which drew up to 200,000 people. The opposition refused to recognize the results of the election, saying that the vote was manipulated. Authorities responded to the demonstrations with a massive clampdown that saw more than 35,000 people arrested and thousands beaten by police.

Most opposition leaders have been jailed or forced to leave the country.

Boy Scouts Pay Out Nearly a Billion for 60,000 Sex Abuse Victims and Almost No Arrests Were Made

Just because it is considered a boys club does not mean the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is unprofitable. In fact, their assets topped over a billion dollars. Some might conclude it is long overdue but on Thursday of last week, the billionaire boys club announced it has finally agreed to pay for all the decades of child sexual abuse its members have inflicted on unsuspecting young boys, usually at the hands of the club’s leaders. In an historic settlement with victims, the Boy Scouts of America will be paying out $850 million dollars to the abused.

While that figure will substantially diminish the club’s net worth, unfortunately, because the victims are so numerous, the $850 million will amount to between three and five thousand dollars per victim, the equivalent to a month and a half’s earnings at minimum wage, a proverbial drop in the bucket. Undoubtedly, the settlement will feel like a slap in the face to those children, many of whom are now adults, who have lost their innocence to predators and the organization which allegedly protected such pedophiles.

According to NPR, it is the first time the organization has ever paid out any settlement for any lawsuit to which it has been named a party, and there are several.

The agreement, announced on Thursday, is the first legal settlement in a long list of lawsuits against the Boy Scouts, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in February 2020.

Ken Rothweiler, one of the chief negotiators in the settlement called it, “the largest settlement of sexual abuse claims in United States history.”

The organization is relying on its local councils to pay at least $300 million, and the parent organization will also pay for things like “non-monetary commitments to abuse victims, including youth protection measures, a reporting system, formation of a Child Protection Committee, and information sharing related to abuse claims,” according to NPR.

Rothweiler’s law firm represents over 16,000 abuse victims dating back to the 1940’s, whose predators were catalogued in an internal list called the “perversion files”. Rothweiler, along with Tim Kosnoff, partnered to form the group known as Abused in Scouting to bring awareness to the thousands upon thousands of victims encouraging them to come forward. Kosnoff is now livid at the agreed upon settlement, according to NPR which quoted Kosnoff as saying:

I don’t know how you can characterize this as anything but a failure…I would say it is a nonstarter, and if my clients asked me if I thought it was a good deal for them I would say no…You’re talking about clients who, in some cases, were anally raped for years that are now supposed to get payouts of $3,500 … maybe $5,000…That is an insult to all of the men who found the courage to file claims and participated in this process.

For its part the BSA believes the payouts are fair. In a statement they proclaim:

Compromised: PBS Anchor Judy Woodruff’s Clinton Foundation Donation Dark Cloud over Potential Virginia Governor Debate

PBS anchor Judy Woodruff’s donation to the Clinton Foundation potentially complicates any return to the Old Dominion state gubernatorial debate stage, tying her inextricably with Democrat candidate Terry McAuliffe.

While Woodruff has not yet been announced as a moderator—or even that she is in consideration for the job—for an upcoming Virginia Bar Association (VBA) debate between McAuliffe and Republican Glenn Youngkin, she has moderated VBA-hosted debates the last two election cycles in Virginia in 2017 and 2013.

McAuliffe, the former Virginia governor, is now the Democrat nominee for his old job this year, facing Youngkin in November. Virginia term limits governors so they cannot serve two consecutive terms, but after leaving office for a term they can come back as McAuliffe is attempting to do. The two campaigns are in the process of agreeing to debate terms—including the number of debates, what organizations will sponsor them, and who will moderate them—and debates in consideration include ones being offered to be sponsored by the VBA.

Since political organizations are usually creatures of habit, given the fact that Woodruff has moderated debates for the VBA in the last two gubernatorial elections in Virginia there is a good chance—sources throughout Virginia on both sides say this is a point of contention right now—that the organization may turn to Woodruff again this year, even though no such news has been announced yet.

But Woodruff’s history of backing the Clinton Foundation financially may complicate matters here. Politico revealed in 2015 that Woodruff gave $250 to the Clinton Foundation’s “Clinton Haiti Relief Fund” in 2010. That fund, which was also supported by former GOP president George W. Bush, was purportedly used for providing aid to Haiti in the wake of the deadly 2010 earthquake.

Clinton-connected corruption in Haiti, however, largely overshadowed anything productive the Clinton Foundation may have intended in the poverty-stricken Caribbean island nation.

Former Haitian Senate president Bernard Sansaricq blistered the Clintons with criticism during the 2016 presidential campaign in comments bolstered by now former President Donald Trump’s campaign, saying they stole billions of dollars from starving and suffering people in Haiti.

184 Die Over Independence Day Weekend As Violent Crime Continues Its Rise

Gun violence over the Fourth of July weekend resulted in 184 people killed and 464 injured across the United States, according to data from Gun Violence Archive.

The data shows injuries and homicides caused by gun violence during a 72-hour period, from the evening of Friday, July 2 to the evening of Monday, July 5, according to Gun Violence Archive data.

In Chicago, 13 people were killed and 64 people were injured, data from the Gun Violence Archives shows. The most shooting attempts occurred in Chicago – 51 of the 490 incidents.

In Baltimore, three people died and six people were injured, while in New York, seven people died and 40 people were injured due to gun violence.

Cities across the country have been dealing with a spike in violent crime. Many cities have seen a sharp uptick in homicides, as well as an increase in the proportion of murders committed against black people.

Declining morale among police officers and a dramatic plummet in recruitment have left law enforcement agencies across the country under-staffed and unable to keep up with the rise in violence. Officers leaving the force most often cite anti-police sentiment and political turmoil as the reason for their resignations.

Bail reform that began in 2019 has led to an uptick in crime, according to National Fraternal Order of Police Vice President Joe Gamaldi.

“People are out on multiple felony bonds, shooting another person and getting out again. When there’s no consequence with actions, you’ll see an uptick in crime,” Gamaldi previously told The Daily Caller.

GOP Rep. Mace Says She’s Now Carrying a Gun After Death Threats — ‘I Won’t Be Intimidated’

After dealing with death threats and vandalism to her home, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) says she is now carrying a gun to protect her and her family.

Mace told FNC’s “Fox & Friends First” how “shocking” and “violating” it felt to be the target of threats and vandalism. She said arming herself feels “empowering,” adding she “won’t be intimidated.”

“[W]hen I was running for Congress, I had someone vandalize my vehicle,” Mace advised. “I’ve had threats, but until those individuals show up at your house, it doesn’t feel as real. And when that happened, I was shocked. My neighbors were shocked, and worse, my kids were shocked about it. It doesn’t feel good when you have to look over your shoulder every day worried about what might happen next.”

Mace was asked how her children are handling the threats and vandalism.

“They get it,” she replied. “They are in middle school, and they still have got good senses about them. They’re young enough to understand that — they didn’t feel safe when this happened and were worried, and I remember the first day of picking them up after school when this happened, and … the first question out of their mouth was, ‘Are we safe?’ And we have had to change our lifestyle quite a bit since it happened to feel safer, but they get it. They understand. And they understand that mom has got an important job and she’s not going to be threatened, and they understand that I want to protect myself and my family and that I won’t be intimidated. These are really tough lessons to learn at a tough age, and they are learning them right now.”

“I will tell you that I learned that it is very empowering to know that I can defend myself and my family and my beliefs if I have to,” she continued. “And so, it was a critical decision. And I got my concealed carry permit at the end of the year but didn’t feel the need to use it until someone showed up on my front steps. And I’m so glad and grateful that I have the opportunity to carry a gun just about wherever I go. it is important. But the biggest thing for me is feeling safe and feeling empowered.”

Report Shows How ‘Queer Creators’ Spent Years Pushing the LGBTQ Agenda in Children’s TV Programs

The increase of LGBTQ characters and themes popping up in TV shows made for children in the last decade is not an organic development. It’s the consequence of so-called “queer creators” pushing the LGBTQ agenda and working with major entertainment networks, writers, producers, showrunners, and directors to place sexualized themes into on-screen fare made for young audiences.

A recent, extensive report by Entertainment Insider highlights the increase of LGBTQ messaging in children’s programming, and explains that LGBTQ activists behind the scenes have made it happen.

“The rise of gender-diverse representation isn’t a coincidence,” Insider reports. “Shows created and run by queer women, trans, and nonbinary showrunners are largely responsible for the influx of nonbinary and trans characters in kids’ animation.”

One way activists have accomplished this is by getting around the typical merit-based hiring process, and searching specifically new staff that are members of the LGBTQ community.

Taneka Stotts, a “genderfluid” writer on Steven Universe: Future, told Insider that nonbinary, bisexual showrunner creator Rebecca Sugar “went out of the way” to make sure a show was staffed by so-called “inclusive” standards, and that new talent was searched for on platforms like Twitter and Tumblr, rather than traditional hiring avenues.

“Visible queer content and multiple queer creators means no one has to feel isolated the way that I did,” Sugar said.

One transgender showrunner, Shadi Petosky, told Insider that it isn’t enough for LGBTQ activists to simply get roles within the entertainment industry, they must also make sure that pro-LGBTQ content makes it into the shows.

And this didn’t come easy, according to Petosky, who said, “there were little arguments, and battles, and suspensions” throughout the production process.

“I had to fight with the help of GLAAD to get the actual word ‘Pride’ in, instead of it being called ‘Rainbow Parade’ or something,” Potesky said.

GLAAD has, in fact, convinced Hollywood to increase the representation of the LGBTQ agenda into TV shows, and networks — including Nickelodeon, PBS, and Cartoon Network — have signed onto the effort.

Jewish Groups In Hungary Insist On Their Right To Show Homosexual Material To Underage Children

Jewish groups in Hungary have condemned a new law that forbids sharing homosexual propaganda materials with underage children:

Called the “gay propaganda law,” the legislation passed last week in parliament follows similar moves in Russia in 2013 that define written or visual materials pertaining to sex reassignment or homosexuality as propaganda that should not be allowed to reach children.

The measure, which President Janos Ader signed Wednesday, has triggered a diplomatic spat between Hungary and other member states of the European Union.

The Golem Theater, a Budapest-based institution that deals extensively with Jewish subjects and has many Jewish members, said on Facebook that it “stands against the propaganda law.”

Mazsihisz, the largest federation of Jewish communities in Hungary, also criticized the legislation without naming it in the group’s statement. Mazsihisz defines itself as a religious community.

“The Mazsihisz, as a Jewish group, firmly believes that all people are inherently pure and their emotions do not make them unclean,” the statement read. “No one should be labeled impure, be discriminated against and certainly not outlawed simply because of their orientation or identity. Such classifications destroy social cohesion and our sense of belonging.”

Hungary’s right-wing government under Viktor Orban has clashed on several issues with Mazsihisz, which has warned that the government’s campaign criticizing Jewish billionaire philanthropist George Soros risks encouraging antisemitism, and that the government is facilitating Holocaust revisionism. Other local Jewish groups, including the EMIH Jewish federation, have disputed these allegations.

We wouldn’t be going out on an antisemitic limb to suggest that Jews are the single-most influential group in promoting homosexual propaganda to children — and society in general.

Shortly after the Boy Scouts of America started allowing gay scout leaders, they were forced to file for bankruptcy because of all the sex abuse lawsuits.

Poland passed a similar law in 2019 making it illegal to promote any sexual activity to under-age children — not just LGBT materials — but it was clearly directed at stopping the spread of subversive LGBT ideology in general.

Will be Treated as 'Occupying Forces': Taliban Warns US, NATO Against Staying After 9/11 Deadline

Earlier, the US announced that the withdrawal of its forces from Afghanistan would not be complete in the near future amid speculation that the process may be finished by mid-summer.

The Taliban* has cautioned the US and its NATO allies against failing to withdraw troops from Afghanistan before the self-imposed deadline of 11 September 2021. Otherwise the troops will be treated as "occupying forces", the Taliban added.

"If [NATO] leave behind their forces against the Doha agreement then in that case it will be the decision of our leadership how we proceed. We would react and the final decision is with our leadership", Taliban* spokesman Suhail Shaheen said in an interview with the BBC.

In light of this, Shaheen hailed the US move last week to abandon Bagram Airfield, which has long served as the base of operations for NATO. The Taliban* spokesman noted, however, that embassies, diplomats, and foreign charities would not be treated as occupiers and would thus not be targeted.

As the US and its allies gradually pull troops out, the Taliban* is reportedly expanding its control over Afghanistan's territory, having allegedly captured roughly 1/3 of it so far. Still, the head of the group claims it has no goal to seize Kabul, with which it has been negotiating unsuccessfully for less than a year.

US Can Pull Out of Afghanistan, But Can’t Remove Taliban from Crosshairs?

While US troops are packing their bags in Afghanistan, no clear decision has been made as to whether Washington intends to leave the Taliban* and Afghanistan alone after the withdrawal. According to CNN, the White House plans to continue carrying out strikes against the group in support of missions of the Afghan security forces.

Furthermore, the US may reportedly continue its practice of targeting suspected terrorists in Afghanistan using its drone programme. Currently, Afghanistan is designated as a combat zone – meaning that the CIA and the US military have broad authority to call in airstrikes that do not require authorisation from the White House or POTUS.

Now, however, the future of this status is in limbo, CNN reports, citing sources. According to them, the CIA itself is not sure whether or not the bar will be raised for ordering drone strikes in Afghanistan. At the moment, the US National Security Council is reviewing the issue, just like many other strategies and practices that were utilised by the previous administration.

The latter was responsible for signing a peace treaty with the Taliban*, which President Joe Biden decided to uphold (mostly). He only made changes to the troop withdrawal deadline, shifting it from 1 May to the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy that prompted the invasion in Afghanistan in the first place.

Kaseya ransomware attack: 1,500 companies affected, company confirms

Software company says 60 customers, plus around 1,500 downstream businesses have been impacted by the attack

Enterprise tech firm Kaseya has confirmed that around than 1,500 businesses were impacted as a result of an attack on its remote device management software, which was used to spread ransomware.

It appears that the attackers carried out a supply chain ransomware attack by leveraging a vulnerability in Kaseya's VSA software against multiple managed service providers (MSP) – and their customers.

"To date, we are aware of fewer than 60 Kaseya customers, all of whom were using the VSA on-premises product, who were directly compromised by this attack. While many of these customers provide IT services to multiple other companies, we understand the total impact thus far has been to fewer than 1,500 downstream businesses. We have not found evidence that any of our SaaS customers were compromised," Kaseya said in an update on the attack.

The attackers exploited a previously unknown flaw in Kaseya's VSA software, which is used by MSPs and their customers. VSA is remote monitoring and management software, which is used to manage endpoints, such as PCs, servers and cash registers, as well as manage patching and security vulnerabilities.

On Sunday, the actors asked for $70 million in exchange for a universal decryption tool that would supposedly resolve the REvil issue for Kaseya and its customers.

Some victims, such as Swedish supermarket Coop remained closed for business on Monday due to the attack. The company is currently working to replace its affected checkout systems at multiple stores, it said in a statement on Monday.

Kaseya noted that it had not received reports of VSA customers that had been compromised since Saturday. It says that no other Kaseya products were compromised.

While Kaseya's software-as-a-service (SaaS) line of VSA was not affected, its servers were taken down during the incident response and remain offline today.

Kaseya has developed a patch for customers running VSA on their own servers. A patch should be available with 24 hours after its SaaS servers are brought back online, which it estimates will happen today, July 6, between 2 PM and 5 PM EDT, Kaseya said in an update.

Russian Foreign Ministry Shocked There Hasn’t Been an EU/NATO Summit Over Assange Languishing in UK Prison

Western elites only concerned about jailed dissidents in other countries? Say it ain't so

Official spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, after one of the witnesses admitted the accusation of perjury in the case against the founder of WikiLeaks Julian Assange, drew attention to the fact that the leaders of the EU or NATO countries did not touch on the fate of the journalist at any of the summits.

In an interview with Stundin, Sigurdur Ingi Thordarson, a key witness in the US Department of Justice case against Julian Assange, admitted that he fabricated parts of his testimony.

“And after all, not a single EU or NATO summit has even touched on the fate of Assange,” she wrote in her Telegram channel. Zakharova recalled that the investigative journalist is now in a UK prison. “The term of his imprisonment, according to UK law, has long expired. But who cares about it in the West when there are so many interesting things east of liberalism,” she said.

According to Zakharova, this story is a bad look for Western liberal values. In addition, the methods, she noted, are not entirely legal. “We are talking about outright pressure, blackmail, and judicial forgery. But for the American repressive power machine, the methods are justified by the goals,” she said.

In the United States, 18 criminal charges have been brought against Assange, on which he faces up to 175 years in prison. He is charged with crimes related to a major case of disclosing classified information. Since April 2019, the founder of WikiLeaks has been in a UK prison awaiting a final decision on his extradition to the United States.

On January 4, a court in London ruled that his extradition to the US authorities would be unlawful, since Assange, who suffers from autism and clinical depression, is ready to commit suicide and will carry out his plan if he ends up in a US prison. The judge’s conclusions were based on evaluations by psychologists and experts. At the same time, the judge recognized the charges against Assange in the United States as completely legitimate and well-grounded. At the moment, the American prosecutor’s office is trying to challenge the decision to refuse extradition, and Assange, who was not allowed by the court to leave prison on bail, remains in custody.

Hunter Biden paid Joe's AT&T bill and spent thousands on house repairs for him while he was Vice President, new laptop emails claim

Hunter Biden complained that 'half' of his salary went to paying his father's bills while he was Vice President, casting doubt on the Joe's previous claims that he's never benefited from his son's business dealings.

The bills included a $190-a-month AT&T phone bill and thousands in repairs on Joe's lakeside home in Wilmington.

The payments were described in a 2010 email, when Joe Biden was earning $225,000-a-year as Vice President. He had already made well over $100,000-a-year for decades prior as a senator and author.

Hunter, according to emails, had to foot a $190-a-month AT&T phone bill for his father, and pay for repairs to his lakeside property in Wilmington, Delaware. At the time, Hunter was working as the interim CEO of Paradigm Global Advisors and he'd also founded the investment firm Rosemont Seneca Partners.

He joined Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings on its board in 2014.

Joe has always insisted that he neither set up nor benefited from Hunter's international business relationships while he was Vice President.

But in emails between Hunter and Eric Schwerin, his business partner at Rosemont Seneca, in 2010, they discussed how much they needed to spend paying Joe's bills.

The subject was 'JRB bills' - which match Joe's initials - and described how $2,600 was to be paid to a contractor for a 'stone retaining wall' at Joe's home, along with $1,475 to be paid to a painter for the 'back wall and columns' of the property and $1,239 to a builder who'd fixed the AC at Joe's late mother's home. He rented that house to the Secret Service for $2,200 a month.

LinkedIn restores account of mRNA vaccine pioneer who warns about their risks

Robert Malone says a "senior executive" reached out to personally apologize for the unwarranted suspension.

LinkedIn restored the personal account of mRNA vaccine pioneer Robert Malone after suspending it without explanation last week, following Malone's comments on potential dangers of mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines.

Malone posted the notice he received Monday morning that the "restriction has been lifted" from his account. He also posted a personal note he said he received Monday night from a "senior executive" at the Microsoft-owned professional social networking company.

"I’d like to apologize on behalf of LinkedIn - we’re just not good enough at detangling complicated, subtle scientific claims concurrent with similar (but different) misinformation coming from others,” the note reads.

LinkedIn notified Malone of the basis for his suspension on Thursday morning, according to an email screenshot he shared with Just the News. It cited six posts for sharing "misleading or inaccurate information."

In the first flagged post, Malone responds to a reader who told him that two fact-checks by Reuters had contradicted Malone's claims about some COVID-19 vaccines. Malone said Reuters participates in the Trusted News Initiative, whose explicit purpose is censoring what it considers vaccine disinformation, and the news organization “has a direct link to Pfizer."

He was referring to longtime Pfizer board member James C. Smith, who retired as Reuters president and CEO on the eve of the pandemic last year and now leads its charitable foundation. "Apparently my top thoughtcrime was calling conflict of interest on" Smith, Malone told Just the News.

Other posts discussed the danger of the "spike protein" on mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, adverse events following vaccination and Big Tech censorship of COVID contrarians such as former Evergreen State College evolutionary biologist Bret Weinstein.

When a Twitter follower pointed out the unnamed LinkedIn executive's explanation of the wrongful suspension didn't include Malone's comments on the Reuters-Pfizer connection, Malone said Monday night he was "trying to be generous" with LinkedIn: "So time to be nice." He said he'll deal with Reuters "in other ways" that are "already in motion."

Malone didn't immediately respond to a question about how he is dealing with Reuters.

Judicial Watch Sues FBI for Records on Alleged Transfer of Bank Financial Data of Every Person in Washington, DC Area around January 6

Judicial Watch announced today it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the United States Department of Justice for records of communication between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and several financial institutions about the reported transfer of financial transactions made by people in DC, Maryland and Virginia on January 5 and January 6, 2021 (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:21-cv-01216)). Last week, the FBI refused to confirm or deny any such records exist.

The lawsuit was filed after the FBI failed to respond to a February 10, 2021, FOIA request seeking:

All records of communication between the FBI and any financial institution, including but not limited to Bank of America, Citibank, Chase Manhattan Bank, Discover, and/or American Express, in which the FBI sought transaction data for those financial institutions’ debit and credit card account holders who made purchases in Washington, DC, Maryland and/or Virginia on January 5, 2021 and/or January 6, 2021.

Bank of America reportedly “actively but secretly engaged in the hunt for extremists in cooperation with the government” and, following the events of January 6, gave the FBI financial records of their customers who fit the following profile:

  1. Customers confirmed as transacting, either through bank account debit card or credit card purchases in Washington, D.C. between 1/5 and 1/6.

  1. Purchases made for Hotel/Airbnb RSVPs in DC, VA, and MD after 1/6.

  1. Any purchase of weapons or at a weapons-related merchant between 1/7 and their upcoming suspected stay in D.C. area around Inauguration Day.

  1. Airline related purchases since 1/6.

On June 8, 2021, the court overseeing the lawsuit ordered the FBI/DOJ to respond substantively to Judicial Watch’s request within 30 days.

On June 17, 2021, the FBI responded to Judicial Watch’s request, stating that the request was “too broad” and asked for “further clarification and/or narrowing” of the request.

On June 24, 2021, Judicial Watch responded to this request by sending a news article detailing Bank of America’s handing over transaction records to the FBI of people in the Washington, DC area around the date of January 6.

Russian An-26 Passenger Plane Disappears Near Kamchatka, 28 People Missing

According to preliminary data, all people on board were killed as a result of the crash. The rescue work is difficult due to the landscape, according to Rosaviatsia center.

UPDATE: The first video showing the place of the accident was released online.

In Russia’s far east, rescuers identified the crash site of the An-26, which flew from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to the village of Palana and stopped communicating before landing.

Presumably, the plane crashed into the sea, an emergency services representative told RIA Novosti.

Onboard there were six crew members and 22 passengers, including two children and the head of the village Olga Mokhireva.

A group of ships was sent to search. A special commission has been formed, a hot line is working. Meteorological conditions are difficult – there’s a thick fog and it’s very cloudy.

A criminal case was initiated on violation of traffic safety rules and aircraft operation.

The local government said that the aircraft had a valid certificate of airworthiness and the crew had passed a pre-flight inspection.

Local authorities published a list of passengers of the missing in Kamchatka An-26.

In February 2018, a Saratov Airlines An-148 aircraft crashed near Moscow shortly after take-off, killing all 71 people on board. An investigation later concluded that the accident was caused by human error.

The Espionage Act & Julian Assange — 1: A History of Prosecuting Speech

From its earliest years the United States has found ways to deny the rights of a free press when it was politically expedient to do so.

One of the latest ways was to arrest WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange 29 months ago on April 11, 2019 and to indict him — the first time a publisher and journalist has ever been charged under the 1917 Espionage Act for possessing and publishing state secrets.

Though several U.S. administrations had come close to punishing journalists for revealing defense information, they all pulled back, until Assange. They were restrained because of a conflict with the First Amendment, which prohibits Congress from passing any law, including the Espionage Act, that abridges press freedom.

Until that legal conflict is resolved in court, resulting in parts of the Espionage Act being found unconstitutional, the language of the Act threatening press freedom remains. Bolstered by 1950 amendments to the Act, the Donald Trump administration crossed a redline to arrest a journalist. A 1961 amendment made it possible to indict a non-U.S. citizen, acting outside U.S. territory.

The Trump administration’s first indictment of a publisher opened an alarming precedent for the future of journalism.

President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice has not reversed Trump’s move to continue to seek Assange’s extradition from Britain though it could have. Instead it decided on Feb. 13 to pursue the appeal of Judge Vanessa Baraitser’s decision not to extradite Assange to the U.S. on health grounds. If the U.S. should win on appeal, Assange will be brought to the Eastern District of Virginia to face 17 Espionage Act counts, amounting to 175 years in prison, as Baraitser challenged none of those counts in her judgement.

Threats to press freedom are an integral part of U.S. history. Assange’s arrest and indictment comes within a long line of government repression of a free press, first by the British against American colonists, and then by the U.S. government, which based the Espionage Act on the British Official Secrets Act.

Possession and Dissemination

Assange did not pass state secrets to an enemy of the United States, as in a classic espionage case, but rather to the public, which both the U.S. and British governments might well consider the enemy.

Assange revealed crimes and corruption by the state. Punishing such legitimate criticism of government historically amounted to a charge of sedition, but two sedition acts were repealed in the U.S. shortly after they were made law and are no longer on the books.

Other journalists and publishers in the past have been prosecuted under the Espionage Act, but mostly for criticizing and trying to curtail the military draft during the First World War.

Assange became the first journalist prosecuted under sections of the Act that make it a crime to have (or even attempt to have) unauthorized possession of defense material, and separately, to communicate it, since technically neither he nor anyone working for WikiLeaks were authorized to do so.

The language used in his indictment based on the Espionage Act is so broad that theoretically anyone who has shared a classified WikiLeaks publication on social media could also be liable to prosecution, not to mention the many mainstream media organizations that routinely report on and quote from classified material, including from WikiLeaks.

The overly broad language means the government does not generally have to prove that the intent was to harm the U.S., only that a defendant, in this case Assange, knew it could.

Neither does the possession and publication of classified information have to cause any actual harm to the U.S. The government does not need to prove that publication actually threatened national security.

Intent, Retention, Communication & Person

The main issues involving Assange’s Espionage Act indictment and the history of Anglo-American espionage legislation are: a) intent: whether motive is relevant to prosecution and whether a public interest defense is possible; b) person: who is liable for prosecution, whether only government officials, normally the source of leaked secrets, or anyone, including journalists who publish them; c) retention: whether mere unauthorized possession is a crime; and d) communication: the laws as they have regarded unauthorized communication of defense information.

These four aspects of espionage laws on both sides of the Atlantic evolved in numerous complex ways over the century between 1889 and 1989, in particular how they have affected journalism. But earlier governments also found ways to choke off press freedom.

A former Maldives minister, Sri Lankan politicians, and a Buddhist monk were arrested over child sex exploitation in Sri Lanka

32 people - including a former Maldives minister - were arrested over the sexual exploitation of a teenage girl.

She was being sold online for sexual services over a period of three months.

Police said 22 people are known to have had sex with the minor.

Visit Insider's homepage for more stories.

A former Maldives minister and politicians from Sri Lanka's ruling party were part of over 30 people arrested in connection with a child sex trafficking case in Sri Lanka, police said Monday.

Sri Lanka police discovered two websites advertising girls for sexual activities, according to an AFP report on Channel News Asia.

One of the girls advertised is a 15-year-old police say was repeatedly raped by nearly two dozen men.

"We have 32 people in custody, and 22 of them are known to have had sex with the minor," Sri Lanka Police Deputy Inspector-General Ajith Rohana told the AFP.

The racket was busted after a 35-year-old was arrested last month for selling the teenager online for sex over a period of three months, reported Ceylon Today.

Those arrested include Maldives' former State Minister for Finance Mohamed Ashmalee, politicians from Sri Lanka's United National ruling party, a merchant navy captain, a wealthy gem dealer, and a Buddhist monk.

Charges have not yet been filed.

Ashmalee, the former Maldives minister, will be held on remand until July 16, a court official told AFP. His lawyer claimed the finance minister was trying to book a massage online, and was unaware the site was part of an online child sex trafficking ring.

The 15-year-old's mother, along with the website owner and the financial controller of the website, was also part of the 32 arrested, reported Ceylon Today.

In recent years, Sri Lanka has made significant steps to curtail the sex trafficking of minors but remains on the US State Department's Tier 2 watch list of countries that have failed to meet the minimum standards set in the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000.

Child Trafficking For Labour Goes Up As COVID Restrictions End: What We Know

With state governments easing norms following a drop in COVID cases, child activists and police have reported a sudden spike in child trafficking for labour

The police also arrested 34 child traffickers.

In Moradabad, 38 children were rescued from the Karmabhoomi Express while 34 were saved on three different trains at Aligarh.

With state governments easing norms following a drop in COVID cases, child activists and police have reported a sudden spike in child trafficking for labour, as per TNN.

In the last 13 days, 132 minors at the very least, mostly from Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh, were rescued while they were being taken to be used as labourers. The police also arrested 34 child traffickers.

In Moradabad, 38 children were rescued from the Karmabhoomi Express while 34 were saved on three different trains at Aligarh. Also, 33 were rescued from Saket Express in Prayagraj along with 15 from Lucknow.

Teams of RPF and GRP also recovered eight minors from Gorakhpur and four from Firozabad following a tip-off by the activists of Bachpan Bachaao Aandolan (BBA).

State coordinator for BBA, Surya Pratap Mishra, said: “After easing of Covid restrictions, demand for labour has risen in Delhi and Punjab. Child traffickers are making every attempt to cash in on this opportunity.” “The accused lure the parents by claiming that their children would be provided education and job. Before boarding train or bus, children are asked to share incorrect information if caught by the police. Children receive minimum wages and get trapped in the never-ending cycle of exploitation,” he said.

Activists claim that the minors are paid up to Rs 3,500 per month and are forced to work 16 hours a day in factories.

Coordinator of ChildLine in Lucknow, Krishan Pratap Sharma, said, “Traffickers have changed their modus operandi. Though they work in groups of 4-5 members, one trafficker associates himself with two-three children posing as their close relative.”

“We have found that minors are taken from backward areas of Bihar, UP, Jharkhand and West Bengal,” said Zafar Alam, a CWC member from Firozabad.

Test and trace isolation to be dropped for double-jabbed and children but not until AUGUST 16 - by which time 4.6m people a WEEK could be going into house-arrest

Furious businesses accuse ministers of 'carnage' that could tip them over the brink after Sajid Javid delays axing of self-isolation rules for double-jabbed and children until AUGUST 16 - dooming around 4.6m people a WEEK to house arrest

Self-isolation rules for double jabbed won't be dropped until August 16 more than a month after Freedom Day

Sajid Javid has admitted cases could top 100,000 a day this summer as he defended July 19 unlocking move

Professor Lockdown Neil Ferguson said they could go even higher but said 'optimistic' PM's plan will work

Boris Johnson has told Britons not to get 'demob happy' amid the relaxation of restrictions later this month

Return to normality could only last for weeks amid the surge in Delta variant cases, scientists warned

Furious businesses accused ministers of causing 'carnage' that could tip them over the brink today after Sajid Javid revealed the requirement for the double-jabbed to self-isolate will not be dropped until August 16.

The Health Secretary announced the rules on what people must do when they are 'pinged' for contact with an infected individual will stay in place for weeks after so-called 'Freedom Day' - despite rising alarm at the chaos and misery being inflicted.

From the middle of next month people who have received two doses - with the second administered at least two weeks previously - can take PCR tests rather than self-isolating. Under-18s will also not be subject to the restrictions from the same date.

But the timetable means 'scary' numbers will be caught in the system after all other restrictions lift on July 19, with furious firms warning they are on the brink of disaster amid 'massive' problems of staff absence and customers bailing out out of bookings. Others also raged that the government is failing to provide any clarity on the rules for getting staff back in offices.

Mr Javid told the Commons that ministers had looked at changing the isolation rules sooner, but were 'more comfortable' waiting until even more people are vaccinated.

The grim news came after Mr Javid admitted coronavirus cases could top 100,000 a day by the summer as the government pushes ahead with the unlocking.

The Adam Smith Institute estimated that an increase on that scale will mean 4.6million people a week being asked to self-isolate by Test and Trace call handlers or the NHS app.

The PM was given a boost this morning as 'Professor Lockdown' Neil Ferguson said he is 'optimistic' the 'gamble' of releasing restrictions will work - although he cautioned that cases could hit 200,000 a day and they might need to be reimposed if vaccines are slightly less effective than hoped and deaths surge.

Mr Javid said that by 'Freedom Day' he expects daily cases to reach 50,000 - nearly double the current level.

'As we ease and go into the summer we expect them to rise significantly and they could go as high as 100,000 case numbers,' he told BBC Radio 4's Today programme.

'We want to be very straightforward about this… but what matters more than anything is hospitalisation and death numbers. That is where the link has been severely weakened.'

Last night Mr Johnson signalled a 'big bang' end to lockdown on July 19, saying it was now or never for a return to normality despite the pandemic being 'far from over'.

He claimed further delay would run the risk of trying to reopen in autumn or winter when 'the virus has an edge'.

And at a sombre Downing Street press conference, Mr Johnson warned against going 'demob happy' at the ending of most coronavirus restrictions on July 19.

And he toned down previous pledges that the path out of lockdown would be 'irreversible' – with restrictions potentially returning and 'contingency' powers kept in reserve. A final decision on whether to press ahead on July 19 will be taken at the start of next week but seems almost certain to be approved.

Gab Reveals They’ve Been Canceled By ANOTHER Bank, Torba Slams ‘Financial Persecution’

Multiple banks have now shut down accounts linked to Gab or Torba for seemingly no reason other than politics

Gab’s Andrew Torba revealed on Tuesday that yet another bank, BB&T, has shut down their account for no seemingly no reason other than politics.

In a letter addressed to Torba that he posted on Gab, BB&T, which merged with Sun Trust in 2019 to become Truist, informed him that they made a decision to close his bank account with them. “This decision is not based on credit reporting information or any other considerations related to your credit,” the letter read. “We have made this decision because some or all of your account activity is not consistent with the intended purpose of the account,” confirming that they had they right to close any account at any time at their discretion.

“Thankfully we’ve spent months getting other banking partners in place who share our values, but this is what we are up against,” Torba wrote in the post, acknowledging the difficulty the free speech social media network has had in getting access to a bank that wouldn’t cancel their account for no reason. National File reported earlier this year that Gab had been banned from four banks in four weeks, due to social media smears of “harboring extremism,” and that it was getting so bad that Torba even considered buying their own bank.

One of those banks was even a supposedly Christian credit union, ECCU, who sold Torba on “working together to build God’s Kingdom only to ban Gab for no stated reason.” Two of the other banks had previously been named as NBT Bank, which mostly operates in the northeast of the country, and the City National Bank of Florida.

“Since the Biden administration came into office Gab has faced tremendous banking challenges,” said Torba, speaking exclusively to National File. He claimed that Operation Chokepoint, an Obama-era program which was originally meant to target banks who worked with firearms companies, is “being weaponized against us for political reasons, just as it was used in a similar way against conservative businesses during the Obama administration.”

“I predict that soon we will see the same level of financial persecution used against churches who refuse to go woke and continue to preach God’s Word,” Torba continued. “Christians and conservatives need to wake up to what is happening in this country. We’re moving beyond simply getting banned from Facebook and Twitter and onto something much worse: they want us banned from the entire financial system,” he concluded.

Ironically, BB&T was once well known for being a libertarian institution, with one of their former chairmen, John Allison, going off to head the CATO Institute, and according to reports, gave their staff members copies of Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged” to read. However, the current CEO of Truist, which BB&T has now been merged into, has apologized for the bank’s alleged past role in “slavery,” despite being founded in 1872.

Google Cancels National File’s Advertising Account With Phony Excuse

Big tech oligarchs attack National File's revenue with the spurious and false allegation that this website contains "sexual content"

This morning, National File was informed via an automated message from Google that our Adsense account was being suspended due to supposedly “sexual” content on this website.

Google Adsense informed National File that “your ad serving has either been disabled or the inventory has been restricted” due to “sexual content” on the website. Google does not provide examples of supposedly sexual content found on National File, and instead informs this publication that it is to “remove the sexual content, then request a review in the Policy Center” or “Remove the ad code from the page, then wait 7-10 days for the violation notification” to be removed.

While making a press inquiry about Google’s decision to censor this publication, National File informed the big tech giant that “There is no sexual content on NationalFile.com, as we are a news website, not a pornography website. Any “sexual” content would be incidental, as it would likely pertain to news reports. Accordingly, it would be heavily censored to comport with journalistic standards.” (READ MORE: Google Search Lists George Floyd As ‘American hip-hop artist,’ Features His Songs About Drug Abuse)

National File asked Google if it has a statement about its decision to cancel a conservative news website’s advertising revenue for such a vague and spurious reason, and did not receive an immediate response. However, National File has a long history of exposing Google’s anti-conservative, anti-family, and pro-China agenda. (READ MORE: Google Notifies Children If Parents Are Monitoring Their Accounts)

As early as 2019, when National File was only a few months old, National File reported that the wife of a Google whistleblower who claimed the tech giant rigs elections for Democrats conspicuously died in a car accident. Only a few months later, in February of last year, National File uncovered that Google funds the radical left-wing Young Turks’ new leftist “journalism tactics academy” with its $300 million Google News Initiative. Also in 2020, Google began censoring the anti-CCP phrase “communist bandit” from YouTube comments sections, scaled back its diversity program due to fears it would appear “anti-conservative”, and worked with a so-called digital hate watchdog to ban The Federalist and ZeroHedge from advertising with Adsense. It is unknown if a similar alliance was formed to strip National File of its Adsense revenue. (READ MORE: Google Reportedly Scales Back Diversity Program, Fears Appearing ‘Anti-Conservative’)

Alexi McCammond, ousted at Teen Vogue over social media posts, returns to Axios

Alexi McCammond — who resigned as editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue in March days before she started the job after an uproar over racially charged social media posts — is returning to her former job as a political reporter for Axios.

On Tuesday, Axios — where McCammond had notable bouts with everyone from Donald Trump to former NBA star Charles Barkley since starting in 2017 — said it was happy to have her back. She had been working at NBC News since her Teen Vogue withdrawal.

“Alexi McCammond is an accomplished journalist and professional,” Axios co-founder and CEO Jim VandeHei said. “We’re excited and proud that she is returning to Axios.”

Some of McCammond’s former colleagues at Axios — where she had covered Joe Biden’s presidential campaign — were among her staunchest defenders as she got slammed over comments she had made about Asians a decade earlier as a freshman at the University of Chicago.

“I worked with her for four years,” Axios political reporter Jonathan Swan said in an appearance on the Fox News show “America’s Newsroom.” “She doesn’t have a racist bone in her body. If we can’t as an industry accept somebody’s sincere and repeated apologies for something they tweeted when they were 17 years old, what are we doing?”

The hiring of McCammond, 29, initially looked like a step by Condé Nast to diversify its leadership. She had been named “Emerging Journalist of the Year” in 2019 by the National Association of Black Journalists. But when deleted comments she had made a decade earlier on social media complaining about Asians resurfaced, she became a victim of the woke crowd.

She issued several public apologies and Condé Nast, headed editorially by chief content officer and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, initially hoped to weather the controversy.

But editorial staffers at Teen Vogue publicly expressed their anger over the hiring to Wintour and CEO Roger Lynch. As the controversy continued to swirl last March, McCammond and Condé Nast issued a statement saying she had decided to step down.

“I became a journalist to help lift up the stories and voices of our most vulnerable communities,” McCammond said in a statement back in March announcing her decision to not take the job.

“As a young woman of color, that’s part of the reason I was so excited to lead the Teen Vogue team in its next chapter. My past tweets have overshadowed the work I’ve done to highlight the people and issues that I care about — issues that Teen Vogue has worked tirelessly to share with the world — and so Condé Nast and I have decided to part ways.”

Wintour cast a wide net in her search for a replacement for McCammond, and in May announced she would be succeeded by Versha Sharma from NowThis News.
