Actually Q in front of a number for that type of Truck is not unusual. Not being a nay sayer, just factual. That type of truck is called a Quint -Per National Fire Protection Association; which classifies fire apparatus, a Quint "Q" has an elevated ladder, on board water supply, water pump, attack/supply hose, and ground ladders. It is a hybrid Fire Pumper / Ladder Tender. Now, is it a coincidence that truck was used…Nope.
forgot to add Q
man I can't type today Q = Quint, 74 would be the vehicle / possibly the station it runs out of identifier
Depending upon where you are from, some departments call them T for "Truck Companies" some call them L for "Ladder Companies" where I am at If it is a hybrid and does not fulfill the technical specs of being a defined Ladder truck, it is a Quint.
