Targeted for associating with a pastor? Volunteer for Artur Pawlowski speaks out

https://www.rebelnews.com/targeted_association_pastor_artur_pawlowski_volunteer_street_church_calgary

After daring to remain open for worship despite COVID restrictions, Pastor Artur Pawlowski drew the ire of Alberta Health Services, politicians and lockdown advocates alike. Perhaps most shockingly, however, was the extent of malice the Pawlowski family endured at the hands of fellow citizens.

It is hard to imagine an incident more dramatic than the viral roadside footage of Pastor Artur’s arrest, but in the weeks following, Pastor Artur was assaulted while shopping with his daughter for a birthday cake, experienced an alleged arson at his home, and reportedly had the lug nuts on one of his vehicles loosened, not to mention the repeated incidents of vandalism at his church.

Most recently in the long string of apparently targeted attacks, Monty, a volunteer with Street Church, informed us that someone had fired a pellet or BB gun through his back window as he was driving. It seems now that even daring to help feed the poor alongside Pastor Artur makes you fair game for harassment and violence. Sadly, the politicians who riled up a great deal of the hostility against Pastor Artur and his church have yet to condemn these attacks against him, his family and his community of faith.

In this video I speak with Monty, who shared about his experience of being targeted simply for associating with Pastor Artur.

Restrictions are, for the time being, being relaxed across Alberta, but Alberta Health Services' persecution of pastors has certainly not slowed down. Pastor Artur is facing up to 21 days in jail for feeding the poor and continuing to worship throughout the COVID restrictions. We are covering all of Pastor Artur’s legal fees through our partnership with the Democracy Fund at SaveArtur.com. Consider contributing today if you want to support Pastor Artur’s fight for religious freedom.

Climate activists would like you to know that you're basically a murderer because of… breathing?

https://www.rebelnews.com/climate_change_activists_marc_morano_co2_killing_people_fossil_fuels

Marc Morano (@ClimateDepot on Twitter) joined Ezra Levant to discuss a new study claiming that your CO2-laden breath is killing people.

The two discussed how economic lockdowns have long been a proposed solution for climate change, and have now come into effect during the pandemic. "How long can climate activists, from Greta Thunberg to UN officials to John Kerry to Jane Fonda, the professors in academia, sit by and watch their coveted solutions — they were for economic lockdowns long before COVID came along!" Marc said.

"They want to make it so that there's a daily awareness of Americans, that everything we do with energy that involves fossil fuel — we're murdering people," Marc continued. "We're no better than the unvaxxed, unmasked person who's murdering grandma by not following COVID protocols. We need to follow the climate protocols."

ATTENTION CANADIAN BUSINESS OWNERS

Possible criminal and civil litigation charges for requiring employees, students

and clients to be vaccinated or forced masking, even if added to your business

policies.

To whom this may concern, this is for you and everyone of significance across Canada in relation to Vaccine and Masking Policies. It is time for everyone to get on the right side to protect the Canadian people with true scientific facts and the LAW instead of political agendas.

This is a courtesy fair warning “PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT” to let you know that possible criminal and civil litigation charges for requiring employees, students and clients to be vaccinated or masking in your facilities or being added to your business policies placing you and your company at risk. Your business policies do

not supersede human rights.

Please contact your legal department and Human Rights commission, the Privacy Commissioners and ombudsmen in your area before proceeding with your policies and service requirements. It is in your best interest to read the documents attached regarding the criminal malfeasance that you may be implicated

into. The premiers of the provinces are trying to get the businesses and corporations to enforce what is illegal for them to do through you. You are at risk of enquiring up to a 1 million dollar fine and up to 5 yrs. in jail

per person or employee forced into mRNA Vaccinations.

A formal “International Human Rights Council Complaint Procedure” is in process. We thought that the undeniable proof within our Criminal Malfeasance document would be of interest to you regarding, Criminal Malfeasance on the part of all levels of the Canadian Governance, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General David Lametti and Public Health officials across Canada regarding SARS-CoV-2 (covid -19) Non-Derogation of Human Rights violations of the Canadian Genetic

Non-Discrimination ACT and PCR tests and coerced Injections.

I have attached a copy of the letter with added links to the appendices which was sent by bailiff, fax and email to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General David Lametti and included his participation in trying to destroy the act from Canada’s Criminal Code in order to allow the provinces to subject the Canadian

people to more draconian measures instilled through eliminating the rights of the healthy majority instead of protecting the most vulnerable. Our economy and the hardships suffered were warrantless once you see the reality of the SARS-CoV-2

Isolation of March 2020.

Don’t you think it’s time that you stand with the people? Even if the Canadian

Government tries to change the laws to suit a vaccine passport and more draconian measures, they will be challenged in a court of law before the 2nd reading.

FYI: The letter to the Minister of Justice and Attorney general David Lametti is also on our website with all the downloadable Appendix PDFs. https://www.thepowershift.ca/open-letter

Canada Begins Allowing Vaccinated US Citizens to Visit Again

https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/virus-outbreak-us-canada/2021/08/09/id/1031579/

Canada on Monday is lifting its prohibition on Americans crossing the border to shop, vacation or visit, but the United States is keeping similar restrictions in place for Canadians, part of a bumpy return to normalcy from COVID-19 travel bans.

U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents must be both fully vaccinated and test negative for COVID-19 within three days to get across one of the world’s longest and busiest land borders. Travelers also must fill out a detailed on application on the arriveCAN app before crossing.

Even though travelers have to register, the Canada Border Services Agency won’t say how many people they are expecting to enter Canada for the reopening. But travelers should plan for the possibility of additional processing time at the border.

“CBSA will not compromise the health and safety of Canadians for the sake of border wait times,” agency spokeswoman Rebecca Purdy said in a statement.

While the Canada Border Services Agency won't say how many people it's expecting, Garnet Health, an Essex, Vermont-based company that offers same-day COVID-19 testing, has seen the number of tests it performs more than triple in recent weeks. The increase coincides with Canada's decision last month to drop a two-week quarantine requirement for its citizens when they return home from the U.S.

“I imagine once that border opens, we are going to see lots of people,” said Chelsea Sweeney, the company's director of business development.

The U.S.-Canada border has been closed to nonessential travel since March 2020 to try to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

The U.S. has said it will extend its closure to all Canadians making nonessential trips until at least Aug. 21, which also applies to the Mexican border. But the Biden administration is beginning to make plans for a phased reopening. The main requirement would be that nearly all foreign visitors to the U.S. will have to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.

But Canadians aren't waiting for reciprocal rules.

Joel Villanueva, owner of Primo's Mexican Grill in White Rock, British Columbia, about 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) north of the U.S. border, is more than ready for Americans to return.

“Let’s get this thing going,” he said. “A lot of our customers are from the United States, and we are literally minutes from across the border. We welcome our Americans, and we depend on their foot traffic.”

Villanueva said he supports people coming who are fully vaccinated and doesn't think there will be a rush of Americans initially. But if his restaurant and dozens of others along the waterfront could fill some tables with U.S. visitors every day for the rest of the summer, it would be a big financial boost, he said.

Near the border in Washington state, Blaine Chamber of Commerce board member Carroll Solomon called the reopening a step in the right direction for businesses. But she also said it was somewhat concerning because of an increase in COVID-19 cases nationwide as the highly contagious delta variant spreads.

“For people who need to get up there (to Canada) for family reasons, it's wonderful,” said Solomon, who also volunteers at the Blaine Visitor Information Center.

With all the hoops people need to jump through — being fully vaccinated, getting tested for COVID-19 and uploading that information to an app — she doesn’t think that people will be going to Canada for many day trips.

“I have a lot of friends on the Canadian side and would love to go have lunch with somebody, but you can’t just do that; you have to plan days in advance to make sure you can get through,” Solomon said.

It’s going to be an event for the Blaine area when Canadians can come down on a regular basis, she said.

As far as returning to the United States from Canada, U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman Jason Givens said there's no requirement to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.

“CBP officers have been processing essential travel throughout the pandemic and remain ready and able to process American citizens and permanent residents returning from Canada,” Givens said by email.

Steve Blake, who lives in Stanstead, Quebec, just across the border from Derby Line, Vermont, is hoping his siblings living in the United States will be able to visit Canada soon so they can hold a memorial service for their mother who died in early 2020, just before the pandemic closed the border. But given the requirements, he doesn't know how quickly that will happen.

“I’d like it to be sooner rather than later,” he said.

Antifa ATTACKS Pastor Artur Pawlowski's prayer rally in Portland

https://www.rebelnews.com/antifa_attacks_pastor_artur_pawlowskis_prayer_rally_in_portland

Pastor Artur Pawlowski is no stranger to adversity. Whether as a child behind the Iron Curtain or a pastor attempting to worship and feed the poor in Calgary throughout COVID restrictions, part of Artur’s story has always been about resisting government overreach. That spirit of resistance has unsurprisingly garnered some pushback.

Pastor Artur has made over 100 court appearances related to various offences (like feeding the poor). He was our very first FightTheFines.com client, and now he is facing up to 21 days in jail for having dared to open his church despite COVID restrictions.

In addition to his dramatic roadside arrest and alleged mistreatment in prison, Pastor Artur also endured a public assault, alleged attempted arson at his residence, numerous instances of vandalism and a string of threats and harassment that have drawn international attention.

Numerous American politicians have taken notice of the arrests of pastors being carried out in Canada. Pastor Artur, despite his mistreatment at the hand of Canadian authorities, is considered a hero by many Americans.

Since his release, Pastor Artur has been touring the United States sharing the cautionary tale of what has happened in Canada. He has been met with warm welcomes and large crowds. Compared to the near ceaseless harassment he endured in Canada, his experience has been largely positive.

Or at least it was until this past weekend, when Antifa attacked a speaking engagement at which he was set to present in Portland, Oregon. We have footage of the encounter, and we were joined for an exclusive phone interview by Pastor Artur himself just after the incident took place.

Pastor Artur is facing the legal battle of his life — he could be sent to prison for 21 days for daring to gather for worship. If you think that is unacceptable, go to SaveArtur.com and make a contribution to his legal battle today.

NS Liberals promise #ScotiaPass vaccine passport

https://www.rebelnews.com/ns_liberals_promise_scotiapass_vaccine_passport

Nova Scotia's Liberal premier has promised a provincial vaccine certificate for residents looking to go to restaurants, shops and gyms “without fear”.

The announcement was made by Liberal leader Iain Rankin on the campaign trail this morning, as the province prepares for its next election on August 17.

“We can’t risk another lockdown in this province, it would risk many businesses,” Rankin told media. If the Liberals are returned to power, the passport's details and usage would be “determined by epidemiology and Covid-19 case counts.”

At the time of writing, the Liberals are on track to win with 41.6 per cent of the vote, followed by the Progressive Conservatives under leader Tim Houston at 32.9 per cent.

Recent Trudeau hire reveals an election could be coming soon

https://www.rebelnews.com/recent_trudeau_hire_reveals_an_election_could_be_coming_soon

The next federal election appears to be upon us. A new hire, or rather re-hire, by Trudeau is my confirmation that a campaign is right around the corner.

The Trudeaus’ nanny is back on the payroll, which means the Liberals are taking their secret weapon out of storage. They are dusting off Sophie, the 'reclusive unless campaigning or getting freebies' wife of the prime minister. Mrs. Trudeau has scarcely been seen in public since March 2020, when she brought COVID home from a WE Charity event in London, England as the world was locking down to stop the spread of the virus.

A recent Order in Council re-hired the family nanny, Sarah Clarke, at the end of July and backdated her contract by a week. Clarke was previously released from her contract in a rare, frugal move by the PM and his family during the pandemic — though responsible management of the public purse may not have been the motive, but rather COVID isolation measures, wherein Clarke could no longer see her own friends and family if still caring for the Trudeau brood.

The nanny, or should we say nannies, have been a point of controversy for the Trudeau family. In 2016, news broke that taxpayers were footing the bill for not one, but two nannies for the three Trudeau tots. The millionaire Trudeaus, reacting to public pressure, assumed the cost of one nanny themselves while the other one remained on the public payroll as house staff at Rideau Cottage. In stark contrast, the Harpers covered their own childcare costs — like the rest of us do.

But Clarke is back and The Lady Trudeau will be out of storage, no doubt making awkward videos about all the super-cool middle class couple things the Trudeaus do — like having two full time nannies. Doesn't everyone have a couple of those?

While the nanny salary is technically above board, it's a clear campaign expense. If the Trudeaus want another freebie, this one should come from the Liberal Party coffers as a campaign expense.

Chaos at Pearson International Airport

https://tnc.news/2021/08/09/chaos-at-pearson-international-airport/

Passengers arriving at the International terminal at Pearson Airport were forced to wait hours on their plane before being cleared to proceed to customs over the weekend, True North has learned.

Once permitted to go through customs, passengers were met with pure chaos – including sprawling lines, tired and angry travellers, closed-off machines and little direction or customer service to answer the many questions of frustrated and confused passengers.

Passengers were told the reason for the delay was a “work-to-rule” decision by the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA).

Last month, when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that Canada would unilaterally open its border with the United States – a move not reciprocated by US President Joe Biden. To add insult to injury for the Trudeau government, CBSA then announced that its union had voted to strike.

Work-to-rule is a form of job action where union employees do no more than the minimum required by the rules of their contract, intentionally causing a slowdown or decrease in productivity in order to gain the upper hand in bargaining power.

“I’ve never seen anything like this in my 13 years flying,” an Air Canada flight attendant told True North, exacerbated by being made to force passengers to remain seated even after landing from a long international flight.

Many passengers arriving at the International terminal on Saturday evening were forced to wait over two hours on the plane before spending another two hours trying to navigate the chaos at customs. Entire banks of customs machines were intentionally turned off, making the wait even longer than it otherwise would be.

CBSA’s job action compounded with restrictive COVID-19 procedures limiting the number of people permitted in the customs area at Canada’s largest airport, creating an unprecedented and frenzied scene at Pearson.

According to a report in the Toronto Sun, the Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA) introduced a “capacity metering program” where passengers are deplaned in groups of 50 every five minutes once a plane arrives at its gate.

On Tuesday, CBSA’s union had served a strike notice to the federal government, but since border officers are considered “essential workers” they cannot institute mass “walk-offs.”

Instead, on Friday, the union started its work-to-rule campaign at more than 100 land ports of entry at the border and the four airports remaining open to international travel.

An eleventh-hour deal was reached late on Friday between CBSA and the Trudeau government to avoid further strike actions.

Even though a deal was reached, the strike caused massive delays across the country.

In Ontario, there was a 50-minute delay at the Thousand Island Bridge at Lansdowne, 75 minutes at the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge and 90 minutes at the Peace Bridge in Windsor.

The queue at Pearson International Airport was running upwards of three hours on Saturday evening.

The new deal struck by CBSA includes an average annual wage increase of more than 2% as well as other workplace perks.

A union spokesperson told CTV that the bargaining team would reconvene Tuesday to discuss the next steps for ratification of the deal.

The CBSA chose the worst time to strike – causing massive disruptions at a crucial time when the country is finally taking steps to open up after a year-and-a-half of isolation and closures.

“These guys sat on their asses for 18 months and the minute they go back to work, they decide to strike,” said one angry passenger who declined to give his name but said he was from Toronto. “This is a terrible way to treat people after forcing them to stay home and not travel for so long.”

Maverick Party will “learn from Quebec” as it prepares for upcoming election

https://tnc.news/2021/08/09/maverick-party-will-learn-from-quebec-as-it-prepares-for-upcoming-election/

With 25 candidates in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, the Maverick Party is hopeful for success in the upcoming election and to deliver the antidote to Western alienation.

Interim leader Jay Hill says his party will follow in the footsteps of Quebec’s historical separatist path.

“The first step is to learn from Quebec. They wrote the book on dealing with Ottawa,” interim leader Jay Hill told the Maverick Party founding convention on Saturday.

“For nearly 30 years, Quebec has sent MPs to Ottawa that represent Quebecers – we must do the same,” said Hill.

When asked if Maverick is solely a separatist party, Hill responded that his goal is “not necessarily independence, but independence if necessary.”

Founded in 2020, the Maverick Party describes their policy platform as “a reflection of what is best for the West, without compromise or any attempt to appease voters in Central and Eastern Canada.”

Hill recognizes that many Canadians in the West do not want to cut ties with Canada. This is why Hill says “the Maverick Party has adopted a Twin-Track approach to achieve greater fairness and self-determination for Western Canadians.”

The first track involves a constitutional change and creating a ‘nation within a nation,’ following Quebec’s path. Quebec has made several previous efforts to secede from the federation, conducting independence referendums in 1980 and 1995.

The second track involves completely separating from Canada and creating a Western nation. “We will make Canada work for all Canadians, including the West, or we will leave Canada,” said Hill.

The Maverick Party supports greater provincial autonomy in taxation, pensions, immigration and policing. They plan to eliminate all carbon taxes and implement five proposed constitutional amendments.

“Without the West, Canada would be a third world country,” said Hill. His policy platform includes the promise to eliminate the equalization formula and remove “current constraints on the Fiscal Stabilization Program that prevents Alberta from receiving billions of dollars in equalization rebates.”

Maverick Party members are excitedly awaiting the fulfillment of Alberta Premier Jason Kenney’s promise to hold a referendum on equalization payments on October 18, coinciding with the municipal elections.

Although Alberta has no power unilaterally to change the equalization program, Kenney said it does “elevate Alberta’s fight for fairness to the top of the national agenda, in a sense, it takes a page out of Quebec’s playbook.”

The Maverick Party foundation convention on Saturday also involved training sessions on social media strategy for candidates and asked member delegates to vote on the party constitution, bylaw, governing council and policies.

Hill says the party “won’t run in ridings where conservative candidates won by a small margin in the past.” Instead, their aim is to prevent splitting the vote between a conservative candidate and someone from either the NDP or Liberal party.

Another Islamist has been placed on a terrorist peace bond

https://tnc.news/2021/08/09/another-islamist-has-been-placed-on-a-terrorist-peace-bond/

Another Islamist has been placed on a peace bond after authorities expressed concerns that he might commit a terror attack.

30-year-old Daniel Khoshnood was known to the RCMP because he was an associate of convicted terrorist Kevin Omar Mohamed, who was also placed on a similar bond last week over fears that he might re-offend.

“Police uncovered some further online comments by Mr. Khoshnood suggesting support of extremist groups, and uncovered evidence suggesting that he had taken steps to locate some corrections staff with whom he had previous dealings,” Crown prosecutors told Global News.

Khoshnood has had trouble with the law in the past and has a history of making bomb threats. Khoshnood served time in prison but was released on September 23, 2019.

“You also wrote on a piece of paper (that you knew staff would find), that you wanted to find information on bomb-making techniques, chemicals used to make bombs, and that you wanted to learn how a specific terrorist made car bombs that ‘killed 77 people LOL,’” a parole decision reads.

“You told the psychologist that you had thoughts of ‘shooting people, killing people, cutting them up, just for fun … they’re just thoughts though.’” He scored “unusually high in psychopathy.”

The Public Prosecution Service of Canada has claimed that after his release, the RCMP became aware of Khoshnood’s ties to Mohamed.

According to Crown prosecutors, the two had met in person and also communicated through encrypted messaging applications.

Upon being recently arrested for a breach of probation, authorities found alleged terrorist materials on his phone.

Under the peace bond, Khoshood must follow 25 conditions including GPS monitoring for five months and entering a de-radicalization program. Khoshnood also must not have any contact with Mohamed, possess weapons or use any device that can access the internet, among other conditions.

Canadian Refused Entry To Own Country Despite Proving Strong Natural COVID Immunity And Negative Tests

https://www.zerohedge.com/covid-19/canadian-refused-entry-own-country-despite-proving-strong-natural-covid-immunity-and

A Canadian writer who flew home from Europe to visit her mother was refused entry and sent back because she wasn’t vaccinated, even though she presented detailed proof that she has strong natural immunity to COVID after having recovered from the virus.

Rachel Marsden detailed her experience in an op-ed last week, noting “Canada tried to force me into a Covid detention facility threatening fines and police action as they don’t recognize my natural immunity. I had no choice but to immediately fly back to Europe.”

Marsden notes that “I committed the apparent violation of trying to re-enter my own country with proof of naturally acquired Covid-19 antibodies made by my own immune system post-recovery rather than those generated by the manmade Covid-19 vaccine about which much is still to be learned.”

The writer recounts “I was treated worse than a criminal. I arrived at the airport with a negative PCR test (from within the previous 48 hours), two positive Covid antibody tests from March and July proving that I still had significant Covid antibodies post-recovery, and a ‘covid immunity certificate’ written and signed by my French doctor to confirm this fact.”

According to her account, Canadian border security refused to accept anything other than proof of being fully vaccinated to enter the country without quarantining for over two weeks.

“The Canadian border officer refused to accept the antibody laboratory test results as proof that I had recovered and was immune from Covid,” Marsden writes, adding that she was threatened with a $6000 fine if she did not co-operate and attempted to leave the airport.

“Let’s be clear: The Canadian government, by behaving in this manner, is routinely criminalizing those with Covid antibodies that are not derived from a manufactured experimental vaccine,” Marsden urges.

Marsden claims that her doctor has advised against getting vaccinated because she has “a high level of laboratory tested antibodies whose levels have yet to drop even after several months post-illness”.

New research by the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) in Spain published in the journal Nature Communications this weekend reveals that Healthcare workers’ IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 remained constant, if not increasing, seven months after infection.

ISGlobal researcher Carlota Dobano, who led the study, said, “This is the first study that evaluates antibodies to such a large panel of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies over 7 months.”

Gemma Moncunill, the senior co-author of the study, said, “Rather surprisingly, we even saw an increase of IgG anti-spike antibodies in 75 percent of the participants from month five onwards, without any evidence of re-exposure to the virus.”

The research clearly indicates that natural immunity to the virus provides ongoing strong protection, even against new variants. It even discovered Antibodies against human coronaviruses (HCoV) may also protect against COVID-19 infection.

But of course, because that is how the human race has evolved and survived forever!

Meanwhile, relatively little is known about the vaccines, and it is beginning to emerge that double jabbed people can still contract and transmit variants of the virus. The CDC even admits this.

Marsden also notes that the country she was trying to leave, France, now requires her “to succumb to nasal swab antigen tests every 48 hours if I wish to continue accessing everyday venues like public transit, gyms, restaurants, some shopping malls, and bars.”

Referring to her exclusion from Canada, Marsden concludes that “The next step for myself and others subjected to this discrimination should be a court challenge to the federal government’s actions. Government-ordered internment facilities for immune Covid survivors under threat of incarceration have no place in any democracy.”

‘Make a really loud noise:’ Grassroots org rallies Canadians to take on COVID-19 ‘tyranny’

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/make-a-really-loud-noise-grassroots-org-rallies-canadians-to-take-on-covid-19-tyranny/

‘Write your senators, write your elected officials, write whoever you need to… stop wearing the mask, don’t be part of the oppression,’ said Tanya Gaw, founder of Action4Canada.

BRITISH COLUMBIA, Canada (LifeSiteNews) — What began as a simple letter-writing campaign by a British Columbia (BC) mom has turned into a grassroots movement uniting Canadians across the country to push back against government overreach in a tangible way.

Six years after writing a letter to members of parliament and two years after founding her nonprofit Action4Canada in 2019, mother and BC resident Tanya Gaw has now partnered with a constitutional lawyer to pursue legal action against the BC government and the federal government of Canada.

Rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition that built Canada’s political system, Action4Life has angled itself in opposition to abortion, the radical LGBTQ agenda, globalization, and legalized recreational drug use. Now, the organization will go after the federal and BC governments for their COVID-19 policies which they argue have crippled the economy and deprived Canadians of their civil liberties.

In a podcast interview published June 29, Gaw detailed the history of her organization and the steps now being taken to fight for Canadians’ faith, freedom, and families.

According to Gaw, she became concerned about the direction her country was headed after now-Prime Minister Justin Trudeau launched his bid for the office in 2015.

“Leading up to the election I kind of saw the writing on the wall and what was to come,” she said.

Gaw argued that Trudeau’s election has “proven to be the worst thing that could ever have happened to Canada,” noting that she had two children finishing up high school at the time and became increasingly worried about direction of politics and the culture.

To air her grievances, the concerned mom wrote a letter addressed to Canada’s members of parliament (MPs), hoping to make her voice heard. She began to encourage her friends to write letters as well, or even to copy her letters and sign their names to get the word out.

The effort turned into a letter-writing campaign which, over the years, developed into Action4Canada, founded in August 2019.

But Canada’s increasingly radical politics took on a new flavor early last year when COVID-19 struck, and was met with an unprecedented flurry of “totalitarian” policies which Gaw says stripped Canadians of their essential liberties and kneecapped the economy.

“When COVID hit we’d already been uniting with incredible people and organizations across the nation, going against the legislation, fighting hard in the last election,” Gaw said, adding that after lockdowns and mandates were introduced, “we were really seeing communism heading into Canada, like at warp-speed.”

“Within a matter of a few days, I thought, ‘this is not about a virus,’” she said. “This is the next step in their strategy.’”

Gaw observed that the lockdown measures “made millions of people reliant on the government to survive,” a situation which led Gaw to use her organization to commence “legal action against the BC and federal government.”

In October 2020 Action4Life partnered with Italian-born Canadian constitutional lawyer Rocco Galati to mount a defense of Canadians’ Charter Rights and Freedoms in opposition to Bill C-19 (a sweeping measure to overhaul Canadian elections to make it “safer” to vote in the era of COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions) and the other extraordinary measures enacted in response to the spread of COVID-19.

The fundraising page of the site asks supporters to pitch in to help the organization “hold our corrupt governments responsible for the devastation they have caused this nation.”

By December 2020 the group had raised 50% of its funding goals for its legal action. According to a July 21 update on Action4Canada’s website, the organization has now received 96% of its financial goal, thanks in large part to a $25,000 donation from Vaccine Choice Canada.

“[W]e are getting closer to the day we have all been waiting for,” the update read, noting that a significant amount of work has gone into “preparing a rock solid case.”

“A constitutional challenge is costly but we believe this is the best way forward,” the website noted. “Whether you live in BC or not, this affects all Canadians.”

In the podcast interview Gaw said one of the primary undertakings of her organization, in addition to its constitutional challenge, is publicizing and distributing “vaccine notice of liability” documents to help people who are being coerced into taking the COVID-19 experimental jab to provide documentation to support their decision to refrain from getting the shot. Lacking federal action, Barrie to vote on funding First Nations drinking water

https://tnc.news/2021/08/09/lacking-federal-action-barrie-to-vote-on-funding-first-nations-drinking-water/

Barrie’s Deputy Mayor Barry Ward wants to step in where the federal and provincial government has fallen short and put an end to boil water advisories on First Nations reserves.

As a sponsor of a recent motion on overcoming discrimination and racism in Indigenous communities, Ward hopes that the City will approve a move to allocate a portion of the 2022 municipal water and wastewater revenue to improving access to drinking water.

According to the motion, the City of Barrie would “dedicate 0.2% of its 2022 water and wastewater revenue toward efforts to improve water services in Indigenous communities in a method to be determined at a future date.”

“The 0.2% should bring in at least $100,000 in 2022,” Ward told True North.

“The average annual water/wastewater bill in Barrie is about $880, meaning 0.2% would mean about $1.80 per household. It’s not a large amount but in my mind it would be a wonderful gesture on the part of Barrie residents toward the spirit of reconciliation, working with Indigenous communities to achieve something most Barrie residents take for granted: turning on our tap and drinking our water.”

Barrie City Council will debate the motion on Monday night. A second part of the initiative involves inviting representatives of Water First, an Indigenous-led NGO to give a presentation before the municipal Finance and Corporate Services Committee.

According to Ward, he has not yet decided whether the funds would directly fund internships by Water First which train Indigenous youth to be certified water plant operators and is open to ideas from his fellow councillors.

“Since an estimated 40% of Ontario First Nations are under boil water advisories, I think it is obvious that federal and provincial governments have not done enough,” said Ward.

Since being first elected in 2015, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has walked back on his promise to end all boil-water advisories on Indigenous land by 2021.

In October 2020, the federal government blamed COVID-19 for their failure to deliver on the matter.

“We recognize there’s lots more work to do. Travel restrictions related to (COVID-19) have made it more difficult in certain situations, but we continue to work very closely with communities across the country,” said Trudeau at the time.

Now, the Liberal government claims that it won’t be able to end the advisories until at least 2023. As of June 16, 2021, there are currently 51 long-term boil water advisories in 32 Indigenous communities.

Trudeau ignores impact of mandatory vaccines on First Nations, black Canadians

https://tnc.news/2021/08/09/trudeau-ignores-impact-of-mandatory-vaccines-on-first-nations-black-canadians/

As part of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s push to make vaccinations mandatory for the public service and federally-regulated industries, many Indigenous and black Canadians would likely be forced to get a COVID-19 jab.

Last week, Trudeau announced that he would pursue options to make vaccines mandatory for federal workers. He made no reference, however, to the fact that First Nations band leaders and reserve staff fall under that umbrella.

A vaccine mandate on all federal employees would include thousands of First Nations leaders.

Trudeau omitted referencing the impact on Indigenous and black Canadians despite official government statistics showing that vaccine hesitancy is highest among these two communities.

Statistics provided to True North by Health Canada confirm that black and Indigenous Canadians experience the highest rates of vaccine hesitancy in Canada.

A Statistics Canada COVID-19 vaccine willingness survey from March 26, 2021, reveals that black Canadians have the lowest willingness to take the COVID-19 vaccine (56.6%), while Indigenous Canadians have the second-lowest (71.8%).

“Certain sub-groups in Canada are more likely to report COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. These include black Canadians, Indigenous peoples, newcomers, and younger adults, among others” — this according to a federal government backgrounder on vaccine hesitancy intended for healthcare workers.

Statistics Canada data shows that black Canadians make up a sizable part of Canada’s public service, relative to the overall population. According to 2020 data on visible minorities in Canada’s public service, black Canadians made up 3.5% of the total federal workforce.

According to an official count, as of August 9, 2021, 71.1% of Canada’s population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 59.7% of Canadians have been fully vaccinated against the virus.

According to the Government of Canada’s website on federally regulated industries and workplaces, “First Nations band councils (including certain community services on reserve)” are included in the list of organizations that are federally mandated and therefore would fall under Trudeau’s proposed mandatory vaccination scheme.

The Prime Minister’s Office did not respond to True North’s request for comment on why these facts were omitted from Trudeau’s announcement on mandatory vaccines for federal employees.

“Politicians should be ashamed” for response to church burnings, vandalism

https://www.rebelnews.com/politicians_should_be_ashamed_for_response_to_church_burnings_vandalism

At last count, more than 50 churches in Canada have been burnt to the ground or vandalized. Little wonder that hundreds of people gathered at Celebration Square in Mississauga, Ont. last Saturday to take part in a rally called Stop the Burning of the Churches in Canada.

You would think that condemning arson and vandalism against places of worship would be a no-brainer; but alas, the silence has been deafening from our so-called leaders. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau refuses to weigh in on this issue. Also tongue-tied are Public Safety Minister Bill Blair and RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki. As for Trudeau’s best pal, Gerald Butts, he “understands” the passion for the destruction.

Appalling.

As for the mainstream media, these ongoing atrocities always fail to make the front page (if they get covered at all, that is). It is a miracle no one has died during these acts of terrorism.

And yet, one must ponder: would there be a different reaction if these places of worship were mosques or synagogues or temples? We suspect that if these grotesque attacks were carried out on these institutions, a royal commission would already have been struck by now.

The unspoken “justification” for these attacks is the disturbing news that is emerging regarding unmarked graves of First Nations children who attended residential schools decades ago. This is an atrocity, too, but how do two wrongs make a right? How does burning down a church on First Nations land that was used by the community for everything from weddings to funerals help matters in the here and now?

One of the keynote speakers at Saturday’s rally was Raheel Raza, who lamented that this ongoing desecration of churches is exactly the sort of policy ISIS and Taliban thugs take part in. (Raheel is also the chairman of the Rebel News advisory board.) The disturbing thing is that this is not occurring overseas, but in Canada in 2021.

Conspicuous due to their absence at the rally were the politicians. Neither Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie nor the MP and MPP for the region could be bothered to show up. Indeed, not a single elected leader was in attendance to condemn the ongoing atrocities against Christian churches. How shocking, how cowardly is that?

Indeed, if you are as outraged about this as we are, please sign our petition at www.SaveOurChurches.com. Regardless of your religious background, let’s let our elected leaders know that these acts of hate and terror against places of faith must not be ignored or even normalized.

Can Derek Sloan win? Former Conservative MP in campaign mode at Alberta event

https://www.rebelnews.com/can_derek_sloan_win_former_conservative_mp_in_campaign_mode_at_alberta_event

Independent Member of Parliament Derek Sloan, who was removed from the Conservative caucus for what leader Erin O’Toole called “a pattern of destructive behaviours,” has been touring the country speaking with large crowds of supporters who feel that Sloan was really ousted for standing by his principles and for failing to bend the knee.

As Rebel News’ own Matt Brevner reported, Sloan is in the process of starting a new federal party, the True North Party of Canada. We have seen our share of new parties emerging over the past few years, but very few have garnered the type of support that we witnessed on Thursday evening.

The raucous crowd of nearly 300 erupted with cheers, shouts, laughter and frequent rounds of standing applause as Sloan spoke. Sloan took time to answer questions and shake everyone’s hands, which was a welcome refresher compared to Justin Trudeau’s treatment of real journalists in Canada, like Drea Humphrey, as of late.

The Sloan family was also in attendance, including Sloan’s children, his wife and parents. This was not a mere photo opportunity either — his family is really on the road with him as he goes from town to town speaking to packed community centres and curling clubs. Not only did we interview Sloan, but we also managed to interview his wife and his parents, all while his children ran around and played. The entire thing felt hauntingly authentic… and authenticity and politics have not gone hand-in-hand in Canada for some time.

The event had all the hallmarks of good old-fashioned grassroots campaigning. The sentiment was not dissimilar to the good old days of Jason Kenney driving around in his blue pickup, meeting people face to face… which, perhaps born of some fundamentally Albertan heartbreak, prompted some skepticism. We can’t really trust a politician from Ontario, can we?

Albertans have been hurt by false saviours and floor-crossers alike over the last decade or so. I couldn’t help but wonder if Sloan, and his new party, might wind up like so many others who have set us up only to let us down. So I asked him why we should trust him, how he was different, if he had a plan to keep the party from compromising on principles, whether social conservatives would finally have a home in a federal party and if he thinks the True North Party of Canada can really win.

Rebel News follows the stories wherever they lead us, but unlike the CBC, who takes a few bucks out of your pocket via your taxes every month whether you like it or not, we count on your voluntary support to get out there. Whether we are driving to a nearby town or flying around the world, the costs really do add up. If you want to help us tell the other side of the story, go to RebelFieldReports.com and donate today.

RCMP are investigating a weekend fire at a church located on the Fox Lake Indian reserve, 550 kilometres north of Edmonton in Alberta.

The RCMP told media in a statement that emergency crews responded some time around 10 p.m. on Saturday night after reports of a fire at the Fox Lake Community Church:

…Mounties said smoke was observed coming from the interior of the structure as they arrived on scene.

The Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire.

“The building is still standing but sustained significant damage to the interior,” RCMP said. “A fire investigator attended the scene and was able to determine that the fire was deliberately set.”

Please go to SaveOurChurches.ca to sign our petition to Justin Trudeau, RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki, and Minister of Public Safety Bill Blair to recognize the burning of churches as acts of hate and terrorism, work forcefully to end them, and provide safety for Christians and their places of worship.

Chinese court upholds death sentence for Canadian man convicted of drug smuggling

https://www.rebelnews.com/chinese_court_upholds_death_sentence_for_canadian_man_convicted_of_drug_smuggling

A Chinese court has rejected a Canadian drug convict’s appeal of a death sentence on Tuesday, in what appears to be an effort to coerce Canada into releasing a detained executive of tech giant Huawei.

Robert Schellenberg, who was accused of smuggling drugs, had his sentence increased from a 15-year prison term to a death sentence. The decision seemingly coincided with Huawei chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou’s arrest in Canada.

Meng Wanzhou was detained at Vancouver Airport in December 2018 on U.S. charges related to possible dealings with Iran.

“We oppose the death penalty in all cases, and condemn the arbitrary nature of Mr. Schellenberg’s sentence,” Canadian Foreign Minister Marc Garneau said in a statement following the verdict. Garneau said that Canada “strongly condemns China’s decision” and will continue to seek clemency for Schellenberg.

The Higher People’s Court of Liaoning Province in the northeast rejected Schellenberg’s appeal and sent the case to the Chinese supreme court for review, which is required by law before a death sentence is carried out.

“We condemn the verdict in the strongest possible terms and call on China to grant Robert clemency,” the Canadian ambassador to Beijing, Dominic Barton, told reporters. He criticized the penalty as “cruel and inhumane.”

Schellenberg was convicted of smuggling over 200kg of methamphetamine, according to the court. He was sentenced in November 2018 to 15 years and resentenced to death in January 2019 after a one-day retrial.

Canada, along with Australia and the U.S., is among a growing group of countries that face arrests of their citizens, trade boycotts, and other pressure from Beijing over political disputes.

The United States has warned its citizens of a “heightened risk of arbitrary detention” in China for purposes other than law enforcement.

China has rejected the suggestion the Schellenberg’s case is linked to Meng's case in Canada, though China has warned of unspecified consequences unless Meng was released. Chinese courts have a conviction rate of more than 99 per cent, with a conviction rate of 99.965% in 2019 and 99.969% in 2018.
