Three human rights complaints have been filed by the Public Interest Law Centre (PILC) against the federal Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) on behalf of First Nations adults living with disabilities.

The complaints challenge the Government of Canada's alleged “ongoing systemic discrimination and failure to provide necessary supports and services to First Nations adults with disabilities in Manitoba.”

According to the PILC, the three complaints — two filed on behalf of individuals, and one on behalf of a coalition of First Nation adults with disabilities — are in response to a lack of access to the “support and services” required based on needs:

“They’re not even getting the baseline assessments to determine their needs that other Canadians would expect,” PILC attorney Joëlle Pastora Sala told CTV News.

Sala cited access to therapy, equipment and communication devices as examples.

“They’re not getting any supports as soon as they transition to adulthood.”

Sala stated in a news release that “Canada's continued failure to provide necessary supports for First Nations adults with disabilities is unconscionable, particularly at a time when reconciliation is stated to be a top priority for Canada”.

The circumstances in Ontario are similar, with Premier Doug Ford speaking against vaccine passports, yet some businesses are calling for their implementation, while one of the province's colleges has implemented a system of its own.

Freedom group beats bylaw cops at their own game, holds music festival

On Saturday, July 17, I covered a music festival in Lakeview Park in Oshawa, Ontario. This park features a brand new playground, splash pad and lakefront beach as well as sprawling green space and an on-site restaurant/canteen.

A freedom-loving group called Rise Up Durham is self-described as a “grassroots organization primarily focused on standing up to governmental tyranny in all its facets.” The group coordinated this music-in-the-park family friendly event. The organizers have hosted regular, peaceful events over the last year and a half in the face of continual government-imposed restrictions.

Upon arrival at the location, the organizers were met with law enforcement and bylaw officers in an attempt to prevent their event from proceeding. Armed with a copy of the actual bylaw and email communications, the organizers were able to secure their event in spite of attempted intimidation tactics.

The event featured a henna tattoo tent, apple spiralizing for the kids, and information tents including advocates from Vaccine Choice Canada and Learning Pods Canada.

In this report I focus on what this group thinks of the most recent mainstream narratives. With Ontario Premier Doug Ford declaring that he won't make vaccines mandatory or require vaccine passports, does the public still remember that he also vowed not to make masks mandatory last summer before implementing a mask mandate less than four months later?

Fight the Fines victory! But Pat McHenry “regrets” paying $85 of $1,255 fine

You may recall the curious case of Pat McHenry of Sarnia, Ontario, one of the first Fight the Fines cases that we took on more than a year ago.

McHenry is a retired carpenter who was initially given an $880 ticket for allegedly breaking quarantine when he brought his dog, Molly, out into his apartment building parking lot so that the pooch could have a bathroom break. McHenry even took the stairs instead of the elevator, in order to avoid contact with other tenants.

Alas, a Covid-Karen took exception to this little excursion into the parking lot and called the cops. And the constables were not interested in employing officer’s discretion here, as these cops looked upon McHenry as a modern day version of Typhoid Mary.

It gets worse: when McHenry went public with his story, the Sarnia Police paid another visit to his apartment to deliver what appeared to be some good news. Which is to say, they withdrew his $880 ticket. But the good news was short-lived, because McHenry was then immediately presented with a brand new ticket — this one for $1,255, for allegedly violating the Quarantine Act! The Sarnia cops were apparently perturbed that McHenry embarrassed them in our initial Rebel News report. How petty, how vindictive, how pathetic can you get?

Prior to his trial, the Crown offered to reduce his $1,255 ticket to $500. McHenry declined. Later on, the Crown offered him over a 90 per cent discount, reducing the ticket to just $85. McHenry agreed to this deal just to “make the whole thing go away,” although in hindsight he regrets paying a cent, given that he now believes he would’ve beat the ticket.

Lawyer creates database for businesses requiring vaccines for customers, staff

A lawyer in Toronto has created a website to list businesses that are either requiring all of their staff to be fully vaccinated or are request proof of vaccination status from patrons. The website, SafeTO-Do, was apparently set up to help individuals who are concerned about the prevalence of COVID-19 mitigate risk factors — and wasn't designed to be political, according to its operator.

On yesterday's Rebel News DAILY Livestream, hosts David Menzies and Sheila Gunn Reid discussed how these kinds of policies from businesses are requiring potential customers to expose personal medical details to someone simply because they want to do something normal like have a bite to eat or exercise.

Speaking about how these small businesses are in dire need of customers after months of lockdown restrictions, Sheila said:

Privacy doesn't exist anymore. We have total weirdos on the internet asking other people if they've been vaccinated before you can even go get a burger somewhere or have a beer, because you're dying to patronize a small business to help them stay open.

The small business says to you, hmm… have you had a vaccine? Have you had a mind your own damn business, how's that? What happened to decency anymore? It is completely gone.

Canada and allies blame China for massive cyberattack on email servers

The communist Chinese regime is responsible for a massive cyberattack that compromised thousands of computers around the world earlier this year, according to the Canadian government and its international allies.

In March, it was revealed that hackers exploited Microsoft Exchange emails. The federal government estimates 400,000 servers were compromised.

The Canadian government believes the objective of the attack was to steal intellectual property and personal information.

“Canada is confident that (China’s) Ministry of State Security is responsible for the widespread compromising of the exchange servers,” said Foreign Affairs Minister Marc Garneau, Public Safety Minister Bill Blair and Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan in a statement.

“This activity put several thousand Canadian entities at risk — a risk that persists in some cases even when patches from Microsoft have been applied.”

Canada was joined by the US, Britain, the European Union and NATO in accusing China of being behind the attacks.

A senior US official described the attack as part of a “pattern of irresponsible behaviour in cyberspace.” Meanwhile, the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre believes the Chinese hackers were targeting maritime industries and naval defence contractors in the US, Europe and the Finnish parliament.

China’s belligerent cyberattack comes in light of a new report by the Communications Security Establishment (CSE), which warns that Canadians are likely to encounter efforts by foreign actors, including China, to influence or interfere with their vote in the next federal election.

According to the CSE report, Canada is a potential target because of its active role on the world stage and that foreign actors have the tools, capacity and understanding of Canada’s political landscape to take action in the future “should they have the strategic intent.”

Vancouver city councillor helps hand out $3,000 worth of free meth, heroin and cocaine

Vancouver city councillor Jean Swanson joined two drug advocacy groups last week to hand out free packets of meth, heroin and cocaine outside the Vancouver Police Department’s Downtown Eastside detachment. Swanson participated in the drug distribution event in order to advocate for a “safe supply” of illegal drugs and bring attention to the statistic that 6 British Columbians die a day from overdosing.

According to one of the advocacy groups Swanson partnered with, the Drug User Liberation Front (DULF), the drugs were obtained on the dark web using cryptocurrency, and were then tested by DULF to ensure they weren’t contaminated with other substances, such as fentanyl.

According to DULF organizer Eris Nyx, the drugs handed out on July 14th cost about $3,000.

Nyx told True North that the group buys drugs with donations from “middle-class, well-to-do people” who want to save lives. “We are not sourcing money from organized crime,” said Nyx. “We are trying to do this as above-board as possible.”

Nyx stated that no one at DULF is profiting off of their advocacy, and the 50 volunteers at DULF are unpaid.

Ralph Kaisers, President of the Vancouver Police Union and the BC Police Association, expressed his disapproval of Jean Swanson on Twitter, writing “Wow! I sure hope this wasn’t actually the case. @JeanSwanson_ please confirm this never happened.” Vancouver city councillor Melissa De Genova was similarly baffled, writing on Twitter “Isn’t this called drug trafficking?”

“We only handed out drugs to existing drug users within Vancouver,” said Nyx. “We are not just handing these out to the public willy-nilly.”

DULF volunteers only distributed drugs to their partner drug user organizations such as the Vancouver Area Network of Drug Users, the Western Aboriginal Harm Reduction Society, and the Coalition of Peers Dismantling the Drug War Society. The representatives of these groups then distributed the drugs to their members, and DULF maintains a database of known drug users from within these organizations.

“We do keep data,” said Nyx. “To date, no one has overdosed on the drugs we’ve given out.”

DULF claims that with this system, no minors are able to get their hands on the substances.

“We are absolutely not distributing drugs to minors, 100%,” Nyx said. “We’re not idiots, we really do care about people’s lives.”

One of DULF’s policy objectives is to see drugs like heroin and cocaine regulated in the same way alcohol is. “We are people thinking about this from a market standpoint.”

As for their partnership with Jean Swanson, Nyx said “Jean’s always been an ally of our community, historically… We understand that having a city councillor handing out drugs is going to bring publicity to the issues… we knew this would bring us into the news.”

Swanson did not respond to True North’s request for comment.

BC has a history of avant-garde drug policy. In 1989, the City of Vancouver funded the first needle exchange program, and in 2003 the continent’s first supervised injection site opened. The city is also home to the Crosstown Clinic, the first clinic in North America to offer injections of heroin and hydromorphone – a heroin substitute – to chronic users who have tried to quit but are unable to.

Recently, the federal government announced they would be providing nearly $3.5 million to fund vending machines that dispense hydromorphone pills to approved users.

The opioid overdose crisis was declared a public health emergency in BC in 2016, and 2020 was the province’s worst year on record for illicit drug deaths.

Feds have spent $2 million on gun buyback program that doesn’t yet exist

The federal government has not purchased a single firearm under its promised gun buyback program, but has still managed to rack up more than $2 million in salaries and administrative costs.

This revelation comes from documents obtained by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) showing the government has spent $2,017,334 to facilitate a buyback plan that has not bought anything.

CTF’s report confirms the costs have been incurred by the Firearms Buyback Secretariat, an office the Liberal government established to “provide advice and direction for the design, implementation, and management of the federal gun buyback.” There are eleven bureaucrats staffing the office, which was set up after Trudeau implemented an order-in-council on May 1, 2020 banning more than 1,500 variants of lawfully owned firearms.

The Liberals initially said a buyback plan to compensate gun owners for the prohibition would cost $200 million, though a Parliamentary Budget Office report earlier this year pegged the true cost at up to $756 million, not counting the administrative costs of running the actual program.

The Firearms Buyback Secretariat is expected to spend $4 million per year, which all goes to administration and operations.

The CTF has derided the program as a “boondoggle.”

“Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s gun buyback has all the makings of a taxpayer boondoggle,” said Franco Terrazzano, the CTF’s federal director. “This is going to cost a lot of money, but police officers are making it clear that it won’t make Canadians safer.”

These ballooning costs are no surprise to those who followed the Liberal government’s failed long gun registry in the 1990s, which was supposed to cost $2 million and ended up costing $2 billion.

Chrystia Freeland’s office ran up $5k AV bill for two Zoom meetings

Two virtual meetings attended by Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland wound up costing taxpayers more than $5,000 in audio-visual expenses.

Documents released in response to an access to information request for information pertaining to Freeland’s remote appearance on a January panel at the World Economic Forum’s Davos Agenda included a $5,099.13 invoice for “minister’s media events” on Jan. 26.

The breakdown of the invoice from Toronto AV firm Bespoke Audio Visual is redacted, but it shows the total billable amount, as well as the date and venue, which is the finance minister’s regional office in downtown Toronto.

Freeland’s public itinerary, as well as a version circulated internally in the Access to Information documents, shows only two events that day – the World Economic Forum panel and a virtual roundtable for the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce.

The World Economic Forum panel, which was on Stakeholder Capitalism, was conducted by Zoom. A Jan. 21 email from someone in Freeland’s office said she would be “using a laptop, nothing fancy, but will have a webcam/microphone for better quality.”

The email also said Freeland would likely have “no support staff with her. In other words, simple is best!”

Despite this initial plan, Freeland instead used her Toronto office and rented audio-visual equipment for the World Economic Forum panel and the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce roundtable, sitting in a room adorned with several Canadian flags.

Freeland attended Question Period virtually on Jan. 26 in between the two meetings, though it appears she did so through a simple computer set-up with a headset.

While the dollar value might not rank high as far as government expenses are concerned, it seems like an unnecessary cost, Canadian Taxpayers Federation federal director Franco Terrazzano told True North.

“Why are a few Zoom meetings costing us more than $5,000?” Terrazzano asked. “I don’t know too many Canadians that spend thousands of dollars for a couple of Zoom meetings. Freeland is our finance minister so she knows how broke the feds are. We need to see better leadership from her on saving money.”

The Department of Finance did not respond to a request for comment.

A consortium of investors led by the Soros Economic Development Fund (SEDF) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are buying UK-based COVID testing company, Mologic, which has developed a 10-minute coronavirus test - and is best known for its deep-nostril swab test for the virus.

According to Forbes, citing a Monday press release, the buyout was done to increase access to "affordable state-of-the-art medical technology" via a rapid 'lateral flow' test, which offers an early-warning screening for Covid-19, as negative tests are going to be increasingly required to go back to 'normal life' - along with one's vaccine passport of course.

The Gates-Soros collaboration is part of a new initiative, Global Access Health (GAH), which will invest "at least" $41 million in the deal, according to the statement. The transaction will feature a buyout of all Mologic's existing shares - including investments held by Foresight Group LLP and Calculus Capital.

Soros and Gates are part of the billionaire community looking to direct their philanthropic efforts to the so-called global south, referring broadly to the regions of Latin America, Asia, Africa and Oceania that many fear will be left behind as the more affluent West accelerates its program of vaccinations, testing and biosecure bubbles in the years ahead. Sean Hinton, the CEO of the Soros fund, said in a statement that the pandemic has “painfully demonstrated the fundamental inequities” in global public health, adding that this “unique transaction” has brought philanthropic funds and investors together to address the issue.

Roxana Bonnell, a public health expert from Soros’ Open Society Foundations, which claims to be the world’s largest private funder of human rights and social justice advocacy groups, said, “As we have seen during the Covid-19 pandemic, access to testing is absolutely essential when it comes to containing the spread of contagious disease—an issue that ultimately affects us all.” -Forbes

Founded in 2003 by father-son team Mark Davis (CEO) and father Paul (Chief Scientific Officer), Mologic has worked with Gates' philanthropic arm in the past - establishing the Center for Advanced Rapid Diagnostics (CARD) in 2016 with a backing of the Gates Foundation. Paul Davis is also known for inventing the Clearblue pregnancy test in 1988 - the world's first application of lateral flow technology according to the company.

This isn't the first time Gates and Soros have 'collaborated.' In 2015, a Jeffrey Epstein-funded think tank, the International Peace Institute, hosted a "Preparing for Pandemics" conference in Geneva - with senior officials from the Gates Foundation, Open Society, WHO, CDC, Red Cross and Pasteur Institute in attendance.

Canadian court upholds right to free expression after Christian event was cancelled without explanation

NEW WESTMINSTER, British Columbia, Canada, July 20, 2021 (JCCF) — The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms is pleased to announce that on Monday, July 19, 2021, the Supreme Court of British Columbia ruled in favour of Grace Chapel, after the City of New Westminster cancelled the church’s Christian youth conference at the City-owned and managed Anvil Centre in 2018.

The Justice Centre brought a legal action on behalf of Grace Chapel, a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, located in downtown New Westminster, B.C. The Justice Centre argued that the City’s decision to cancel the Church’s conference violated the church’s freedom of conscience, religion, thought, belief opinion, expression, and association. Grace Chapel’s vision includes the desire to build a multi-ethnic, diverse church.

Grace Chapel does not have a church building of its own, so it holds events in rented spaces including at the Anvil Centre. In May of 2018, Grace Chapel entered into a contract with the City to rent a portion of the Anvil Centre for a youth conference to be held later in July.

On June 20, 2018, the Anvil Centre received a single complaint from a member of the public who saw a poster promoting the conference. Only hours later, Grace Chapel received an email from Heidi Hughes, the Anvil Centre Director of Sales & Marketing, stating that the Centre was cancelling the conference on the basis that “one of [Grace Chapel’s] event speakers / facilitators …vocally represents views and a perspective that run counter to City of New Westminster and Anvil Centre booking policy.”

Ms. Hughes did not identify the “views” or “perspective” said to have led to the City’s cancellation of the conference, or explain how Grace Chapel had breached the Anvil Centre’s booking policy.

In a decision released on July 19, 2021, Justice Maria Morellato ruled that Grace Chapel is entitled to a declaration that the City’s cancellation of the conference unjustifiably infringed its right to freedom of expression under section 2(b) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

In response to the City’s argument that Grace Chapel’s alleged expression at the conference was of “low value”, Justice Morellato stated the following:

In a free and democratic society, the exchange and expression of diverse and often controversial or unpopular ideas may cause discomfort. It is, in a sense, the price we pay for our freedom. Once governments begin to argue that the expression of some ideas are less valuable than others, we find ourselves on dangerous ground.

“We are pleased that the Court has vindicated our client’s freedom of expression and affirmed that government must respect the Charter in providing access to publicly-owned facilities,” states Justice Centre Staff Lawyer, Marty Moore.

“The City’s knee-jerk reaction to cancel the booking of a religious community made up primarily of new Canadians based on unfounded accusations was reprehensible,” continues Mr. Moore.

Canada’s Gun Confiscation Scheme: Still More Questions than Answers

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- On June 29, Yves Giroux, Canada’s Parliamentary Budget Officer, released a report on the estimated cost of implementing the firearm confiscation (“buyback”) program that is part of the sweeping Order-in-Council announced by Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on May 1, 2020. That law immediately banned more than 1,500 models of firearms (along with any current or future firearms that could be considered a “variant” of the listed guns) and established a time-limited amnesty that allows the owners of these formerly lawful guns to possess the guns until April 30, 2022, without incurring criminal liability. Owners would be offered the “choice of either grandfathering or compensation if they surrender the firearm,” with the details “announced later.”

More than a year later, gun owners in Canada still have no information about how the grandfathering, confiscation, or compensation will work, although the government assures Canadians that it is “committed to a buy-back program that would allow you to return [turn in] your firearm for fair compensation.”

Taxpayers are likewise still waiting for answers regarding the costs of implementing this law. Last fall, Bill Blair, the federal Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness overseeing the implementation of the gun ban, refused to answer questions about the price tag for this gun control scheme, although he had previously indicated that the “buyback” program alone was expected to cost between CAD$400 million and $600 million.

Unfortunately, the new report by the Parliamentary Budget Officer (PBO) fails to shed much light on the compelling question of cost. What the report does provide is a very inexact estimate for just the firearm confiscation/compensation program, ranging from CAD$47 million to $756 million.

This upper range exceeds, by a considerable amount, the maximum of $600 million given by Bill Blair. Moreover, a careful reading of the PBO document indicates that the common thread that runs through the entirety of the 16-page report is uncertainty – the document is replete with hedging and qualifications and disclaimers. It is apparent the authors simply weren’t given much to work with, but the clear implication nevertheless is that the actual cost has the potential to climb far above the $756 million maximum. OTTAWA — Mark Carney won't be on the Liberal ticket if there's an election this fall.

The former governor of the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England told The Canadian Press he's made commitments to help in the global fight against climate change and he can't walk away from them just a few months before a crucial United Nations conference.

"I thought long and hard on this because I believe strongly in public service … and in the government's agenda, which I fully support," Carney said in an interview Tuesday.

"In the end, despite the temptation to running and the wrestling with it, a commitment's a commitment."

Carney is the UN special envoy on climate action and finance and also chairs the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero, which aims to bring together banks and asset management firms worldwide to accelerate the transition to an economy based on net-zero carbon emissions.

His work will be crucial to the success of the UN climate conference, known as COP26, which is scheduled to run from Oct. 31 to Nov. 12 in Glasgow.

"It's a critical time in the COP26 process. I made commitments to the (UN) secretary-general and the U.K. prime minister to organize the private sector for net zero, for a net-zero economy and we have tremendous momentum and I don't want to break that momentum," Carney said.

"I think this is the best contribution I can make right now for Canada, arguably the world, but also for Canada because this matters. This matters hugely to us and this is something I can do, I'm in the middle of and I need to see it through."

Carney did not rule out running for the Liberals at another time.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is widely expected to call an election for this fall. If he does, Carney said he wanted to put an end to rampant speculation that he would run in a riding in Ottawa, where he lives.

Infrastructure Minister Catherine McKenna announced last month she would not seek re-election in Ottawa Centre. Her surprise decision opened up some prime political real estate that could have become a launching pad for Carney.

There had also been speculation that Ottawa South MP David McGuinty or Kanata-Carleton MP Karen McCrimmon might step aside to open up their Liberal ridings for Carney.

Carney promised in April, during his political debut at the Liberal party's virtual convention, to do whatever he can to support the party.

His name has been bandied about as a potential Liberal leader for at least 10 years.

While he was still Bank of Canada governor in 2012, Carney quietly flirted with the idea of a leadership run, courted by Liberals desperately searching for a new saviour after the 2011 election flame-out.

But amid criticism that even the smallest whiff of partisanship was undermining the independence crucial to a central banker, Carney eventually squelched the speculation by saying he’d just as soon become a “circus clown.” He left Canada shortly thereafter to take over the helm of the Bank of England.

He returned to Canada last summer and earlier this year released a book promoting his vision for a new kind of capitalism that combines the pursuit of profit with social purpose.

The prime minister will make two stops in Hamilton today — one to recognize Eid al-Adha, and one to make an announcement about housing.

Justin Trudeau will visit the Hamilton Mountain Mosque in the Albion Falls area, then Indwell's Royal Oak Dairy on Robert Street in the lower city's Landsdale neighbourhood.

Labour Minister Filomena Tassi, also MP for Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas, will join him on both stops, and Ahmed Hussen, minister of families, children and social development, will be part of the announcement at the Indwell property.

The visit comes days after Hamilton Police Service say a mom and daughter were targeted in a hate crime that involved someone uttering anti-Muslim slurs.

Police say a woman, 62, and daughter, 26, were in an Ancaster Meadowlands parking lot on July 12 when they were almost hit by a driver pulling out of a parking spot.

As the women walked away, the driver allegedly started chasing them in his truck.

A Cambridge, Ont., man now faces a number of charges, including assault with a weapon.

Friday night, Edmonton's Cuban community and their allies headed to the Alberta Legislature grounds to demand an end to the Communist regime strangling the island nation.

The protesters, led by Miguel Ramos, a Cuban immigrant who has been in Canada for four years, chanted for Cuba to be released from over six decades of Communist rule, in favour of free speech, religious liberty, capitalism and democracy. Several speakers also called for the Canadian government to impose sanctions against Cuba, in the same vein as those levied against Venezuela. Some wanted a formal denouncement of the Cuban government by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, whose family had a long friendship with now deceased Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro.

The protesters repeatedly made it a point — despite reports in many mainstream media outlets and tweets from Biden administration officials suggesting that the uprisings are about vaccines and the decades-long American embargo — to articulate the real reason for the ongoing protests in Cuba. The people want freedom.

The Cuban community at the legislature was joined by Belarusian expats and Peruvians, who also want an end to communist tyranny in their own countries.

Human rights activists, journalists, lawyers, and other people of interest around the world have been targeted with malicious phone malware sold to authoritarian governments by an Israeli surveillance firm, media reports say.

A list of some 50,000 phone numbers of people believed to be of interest to clients of the company, NSO Group, has been leaked to major news outlets, the BBC reports.

It is not yet clear where the list came from or how many phones have the malware installed.

NSO denies any wrongdoing, saying that the software’s intended use was against criminals and terrorists, and that it was made only available to law enforcement and intelligence agencies from countries with good human rights records.

It said the original investigation which led to the reports, by Paris-based NGO Forbidden Stories and the human rights group Amnesty International, was "full of wrong assumptions and uncorroborated theories,” adding that it would "continue to investigate all credible claims of misuse and take appropriate action.”

The allegations about the use of the software, known as Pegasus, were released Sunday by the The Pegasus Project, a collaboration of news outlets including the Washington Post, the Guardian, Le Monde, and 14 other media organizations around the world.

The software infected iPhones and Android devices, allowing operators to extract emails, messages, photos, record phone calls, harvest GPS data, and even activate microphones and cameras without the victim knowing.

Media outlets said they had identified over 1,000 people in over 50 countries whose numbers were on the list, which includes politicians, heads of state, activists, business executives, and several Arab royal family members. On the list were over 180 journalists, some of whom work at organizations such as CNN, the New York Times, and Al Jazeera.

When contacted by outlets, spokespeople for countries named in the report denied that they were clients of NSO or that they had abused their power of surveillance.

Schools are safe to operate without strict COVID-19 protocols, according to the Ontario Science Table and researchers from SickKids Hospital.

In its report, the Science Table calls for a return of most activities in schools this fall and dropping mask mandates, social distancing and cohorting.

The report also does not recommend vaccinating children as a precondition to return to school.

“In-person learning is essential for the learning and overall well-being of children and youth,” the report reads. “Therefore, barring catastrophic circumstances, schools should remain open for in-person learning.”

While the report recommends many protocols to be dropped, one of the key measures the Science Table recommends to keep in place is active screening for COVID-19 symptoms and the need to stay at home.

“Asymptomatic screen testing (i.e., asymptomatic testing in the absence of documented exposure), is not routinely recommended, especially in the low to moderate COVID-19 risk scenarios,” the report says.

The report from Ontario’s Science Table is a relief for many parents and students in Ontario. Schools across the province have been shuttered due to endless government lockdowns.

In the past 15 months, Ontario public school students have only been in school for approximately 5 months. The closure of schools has had a negative effect on students, according to a number of leading children’s health and pediatrics organizations.

In June, the Children’s Health Coalition released an open letter condemning Ontario’s decision to keep schools closed.

“We are witnessing a crisis in children’s mental health with a dramatic increase in the utilization of acute mental health services. Schools play an essential role in the recovery process. In-person school provides students with routine and structure, accountability, socialization and recognition of abuse and neglect,” claimed an open letter by the group.

Both Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson were back in the news this week, because their products have harmed so many people.

Yesterday, it was announced that Johnson and Johnson had reached a $26 BILLION settlement to end litigation over thousands of opioid lawsuits.

Facing thousands of opioid lawsuits, Johnson & Johnson and major distributors are close to a $26 billion settlement to end the litigation, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Under the deal, J&J would pay $5 billion over nine years and the three distributors would pay a combined $21 billion over 18 years, the report says. In a recent SEC filing, J&J had already earmarked $5 billion for an “all-in settlement” that would resolve “opioid lawsuits and future claims by states, cities, counties and tribal governments.”

Over the last two decades, the opioid and addiction crisis killed roughly 500,000 Americans who overdosed on prescription and illegal opioids, the CDC says. The epidemic has sparked lawsuits from local and state governments, who claim the companies downplayed the risks of using opioids while aggressively marking them. (Source.)

And J&J has had problems with their COVID-19 “vaccine,” as well, being the only one of the three currently in use to be halted by the FDA for a while, due to serious side effects.

This made former President Donald Trump, the most pro-vaccine president the U.S. has ever had, furious, showing that he had more concern for his buddies on Wall Street in Big Pharma, than he did for the victims of the experimental injections. He wrote:

The British Columbia Civil Liberties Association board of directors praised Harsha Walia for stepping down despite her tweet that supported violent acts.

July 20, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – The head of a Canadian civil group who called for Catholic churches to be burned “down” in late June resigned from her job after an outcry.

In a statement posted last Friday, the board of directors for the British Columbia (B.C.) Civil Liberties Association (BCCLA) announced they accepted the resignation of Harsha Walia, who served as its executive director.

The BCCLA Board heavily praised Walia for “her bold, skillful, and compassionate leadership” at the organization in the statement about her resignation.

Walia recently sparked online fury after openly calling for violence against Catholic parishes, writing on Twitter in response to news of Catholic churches being torched to “Burn it all down.”

She tweeted in response to the discovery of unmarked graves at now-closed indigenous residential schools once run by the church.

According to a Global News report, shortly after her “burn it all down” tweet, Walia tweeted that it was “totally ridiculous to suggest I am actively calling for arson,” adding that “yes, I do think deadly genocidal colonialism locally and globally needs to collapse.”  

There has been heavy media coverage of the discovery of unmarked graves at now-closed residential schools once run by the Church in parts of Canada. Forty-seven churches, most of them Catholic, have either been burned or vandalized.

In a separate statement regarding Walia’s resignation, BCCLA president David Fai wrote that the organization regrets the “misunderstanding that was caused by the tweet and apologizes for the harm the words caused.”

“Words matter. Context matters. The British Columbia Civil Liberties Association supports the cherished right to free expression, and as an organization we want our messages to be clear. A tweet by our executive director on her personal account failed in that regard,” Fai wrote.

Fai claimed that Walia’s “Burn it all down” quote resulted in large amounts of “hateful commentary” directed at her that he said was “fueled by the fact that our executive director is a racialized woman leader.”

He defended Walia’s comments, claiming earlier they were not to “be taken literally but were a recognition that the system that created residential schools is so flawed that we need ‘to burn it all down’ and start over.”

Many took to social media to show their disbelief that the head of a well-known organization would call for destruction after his tweet went viral.

Walia’s words received condemnation from B.C. Minister of Public Safety Mike Farnworth, who said they were “disgusting and reprehensible” and would not bring about “reconciliation.”

On an appearance with FOX News host Tucker Carlson, Rebel News founder Ezra Levant said the multitude of arson attacks on churches in Canada is the nation’s “Black Lives Matter” moment and called out the near silence regarding the burnings from the nation’s top leaders.

Carlson noted that “all of a sudden Canada looks a lot like the Soviet Union,” before his interview with Levant.

“Seems like we're exaggerating a little bit? Well, they're burning Catholic and Anglican churches in recent days. Leftist groups are. But Canada's leaders aren't condemning the burning of churches. No, they're endorsing the burning of churches,” he continued.

Canadian lawyer Naomi Sayers came to the defense of Walia, saying publicly that she would help “burn” down Catholic churches, as well as offering to help defend anyone caught attempting arson.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau waited weeks before acknowledging the church vandalism, and when he did speak, he said it is “understandable” that churches have been burned, also saying it is “unacceptable and wrong.”

As several businesses set out policies requiring staff and customers to be vaccinated, an Ontario boxing club is going the other way.

Fearless Boxing Club in South Etobicoke is barring the vaccinated from joining.

“For the safety of our members, the Fearless Boxing Club will no longer be accepting those who received the experimental Covid vaccine,” gym co-founder Mohammed Abedeen said in an Instagram story, which he later shared to Facebook.

“Our current members including doctors, nurses, teachers, parents and many youth feel safer waiting until more research is done on the side effects being discovered right now.”

Abdeen added the hashtag #JustSayNo to his post, which asked people who have received the COVID-19 vaccine to “please keep your distance from organic people for at least 28 days.”

There are no risks to associating with people who have received a COVID-19 vaccine.

In recent weeks, the debate about mandatory vaccines and vaccine passports has ramped up. While many provinces have rejected the idea of mandating vaccines or issuing passports, some Canadian businesses have taken matters into their own hands.

Discover Fitness in Timmins, in northern Ontario, said last week the gym would only allow vaccinated people to work out there.

Citing a rise in hate-motivated crimes and “drug-fuelled attacks,” Alberta’s justice minister is calling on the federal government to allow the use of pepper spray for self-defence.

“I suggest consideration be given to allowing individuals, including vulnerable persons, to carry capsaicin spray, commonly known as ‘pepper spray,’ for self-defence,” Min. Kaycee Madu says in a letter to his federal counterpart David Lametti and Public Safety Minister Bill Blair.

“As you are aware, pepper spray is currently a prohibited weapon. It is sadly ironic that a vulnerable person carrying pepper spray for self-defence could quite possibly receive a longer sentence than her attacker.”

Pepper spray causes temporary blindness and pain, which can allow someone under attack time to get away.

Madu points to an “increase of drug-fuelled attacks” in Alberta and across the country, saying Albertans should not be prohibited from accessing a tool of “personal defence when absolutely needed.”

Pepper spray has been designated as a prohibited weapon in Canada since 1995 as a “device designed to be used for the purpose of injuring, immobilizing or otherwise incapacitating any person.” Someone convicted of carrying it could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.

The prohibition exempts sprays designed for repelling animals, but anyone found to be carrying or using these sprays for defence against people can still be charged.

In his letter, Madu says this is unacceptable.

“Our government wholeheartedly supports the notion of permitting Albertans, and indeed, Canadians, to defend themselves in circumstances where they are in serious risk of imminent danger,” he writes. “Vulnerable communities and persons would be well served by your government allowing them to effectively defend themselves, as an additional measure to the community safety measures we are undertaking.”

Former Conservative Party of Canada leadership candidate Kellie Leitch promised to “clarify” the laws surrounding self-defence in 2016.

“The law should not force women to be victims of violence when non-lethal means exist for them to protect themselves,” Leitch said at the time.

Brad Trost disqualified, then reinstated, as Conservative nomination candidate

Former Conservative member of parliament and leadership candidate Brad Trost has been approved to run as a nomination candidate in Saskatchewan after an earlier disqualification by the Conservative party’s candidate selection committee.

Trost, a prominent social conservative who served as a Saskatoon MP from 2004 to 2019, is seeking the nomination in Moose Jaw—Lake Centre—Lanigan, a seat currently held by longtime Conservative MP Tom Lukiwski, who is not seeking reelection.

Trost’s application to seek the nomination was initially rejected by the National Candidate Selection Committee (NSCS), though this decision was appealed to the party’s elected National Council. On Sunday, the National Council voted to reverse the NSCS decision, effectively approving Trost as a candidate, True North has learned.

Trost declined to comment on the situation.

“I’m a candidate in good standing,” Trost said. “There were some minor issues but they got resolved rather quickly.”

True North was not able to verify the reason for Trost’s initial disqualification.

A Conservative Party of Canada spokesperson confirmed that all candidates who submitted applications – including Trost – have been approved by the party’s National Council.

The other candidates vying for the nomination in the relatively safe Conservative seat are Moose Jaw mayor Fraser Tolmie and Kathryn Pollack.

A date has not yet been set for the nomination, which will allow the riding’s Conservative members to vote on who will represent them in the next general election, widely rumoured to be coming this summer.

Trost ran for the Conservative party’s leadership in 2017, coming in fourth place with over 14% of the points. Trost’s support was ultimately what pushed Andrew Scheer to his narrow victory on the 13th ballot.

Months later, the party fined Trost’s campaign $50,000, alleging it leaked the membership list to a Canadian firearms group. The Conservatives eventually backtracked on their accusation, citing “insufficient evidence” after Trost filed for judicial review in an Ontario court.

After the leadership race, Trost was defeated in a nomination by Corey Lochor, who went on to win the 2019 general election.

Immediately after the tragic death of Const. Jeffrey Northrup on July 2, the Toronto police issued a statement indicating a man had been charged with first-degree murder.

We heard that Northrup had been “deliberately” struck in the parking garage of Old City Hall in downtown Toronto. We were also told Northrup’s partner was treated and released from hospital in relation to the incident.

We were informed that the person charged in connection with the death was 31-year-old Umar Zameer and that he appeared in court that same day. No pictures of the suspect were released, by police or media.

Unlike other police press releases, there wasn’t even an indication of where Zameer called home. We don’t know if he was also charged in connection with Northrup’s partner.

A publication ban was quickly slapped on any further details of the alleged killing, and to this day there has been radio silence.

No journalist in Canada, from the best I can tell, has bothered to question who this man is, his background or where he came from.

A week has gone by since Northrup’s funeral, and crickets from the media.

A Toronto police spokesman informed me Tuesday that there is “no further information” to be provided due to the publication ban.

It’s as if protecting Zameer’s rights is more important than the officer he allegedly killed.

But we only have to look to another sad incident that occurred the month before in London, Ontario to find proof of the shameful double standard perpetrated by the police, our politicians and the media who go along with this selective narrative.

While Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took two long days to weigh in about Northrup’s tragic death, in the London case, he and everyone else couldn’t wait to call it a “hate crime” and to label the alleged perpetrator as a “terrorist” and the incident a “terrorist attack.”

On the evening of June 6, a Muslim family of five was mowed down by the driver of a black pickup truck as they were out for a walk. Four succumbed to the injuries while a nine-year-old boy survived.

Nathaniel Veltman, 20, was charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one of attempted murder in connection with the attack.

Within hours, his photos were circulating on social media as members of the legacy media were quick to post photos found of the alleged perpetrator as a teenager. It didn’t even take London police 24 hours to call it a “planned premeditated act motivated by hate.”

One week later they laid terrorism charges against him after working with federal crown prosecutors on the case.

This is despite the fact that police admitted they had not established a connection between Veltman and known hate groups. Police have never said what evidence led them to surmise he engaged in an alleged terrorist act.

Veltman was tried and convicted in the media and questions of his mental state were conveniently ignored, according to one source. A court document from his parents’ divorce several years ago revealed that he suffered from mental illness and was medicated.

But mental illness didn’t fit with this narrative, it seems.

Still, the die was cast from the get-go after Trudeau wasted no time calling it a clear terrorist attack, as did his second in command, Chrystia Freeland. She called it an “act of terror.”

More than 20 protesters were arrested by Toronto Police on Wednesday after trying to block city employees and Toronto Police from clearing the illegal homeless encampment at Lamport Park.

The protesters – most of whom are not homeless and do not live in the encampment – showed up in hundreds to protect an illegal homeless encampment from being cleared.

Many of the activists blocking the police belonged to the Encampment Support Network, a volunteer network that supports residents of the illegal encampments.

Toronto Police arrived at the scene in the morning to notify those living in the encampment that they were trespassing and that they must leave. The police put up fencing to block out protesters and clear the way for city officials to dismantle the encampment.

As protesters refused to listen to police orders, they were met with force by law enforcement.

Footage from the scenes at Lamport show the protesters actively blocking police from clearing the tents and refusing to obey commands.

When the police arrived, they fenced off the homeless encampment to keep protesters and activists out and allow for the city to do its job. As the crowd of protesters grew, they eventually broke through the fencing.

In recent days, the City of Toronto has cleared several other homeless encampments, including an encampment in Alexandra Park on Tuesday. Police arrested 11 people when clearing the homeless encampment.

These clearings began after people living in four different homeless encampments received trespassing notices from the city. Residents of these encampments that refuse to leave also face a fine of up to $10,000.

The City of Toronto has provided hotels and other forms of shelter to the residents of the illegal encampments however many of them prefer to live in the encampments instead citing the fear from random check-ins.

Speaking after clashing with protesters, Toronto Police Staff Supt. Randy Carter said that the police were there to support city workers and make sure that the public was safe.

“We do our best to get to a place where nobody gets hurt and where we don’t have to be physically fighting with people but you were all witness to how we had to get to that place today,” Carter said.

Speaking to the Toronto Sun after having to leave his encampment, Joey Mauger said, “We like it here, we don’t want to go and we don’t know where we’re going to go.”

He added that he had been living there for six months.

Sloan wondered where Canadian public health officials were in delivering this same message here, only for his account to be locked for spreading misinformation about COVID-19.

Sloan joined Ezra Levant as the guest on last night's edition of The Ezra Levant Show to talk about this suspension and a number of other topics, including his plans for the suspected upcoming election.

Speaking to Ezra about his suspension, Sloan said:

It really is a bit of a kangaroo court. I can't think of any good example of a left-wing politician getting banned. I remember there was some prominent tweets in the Israel/Palestine events that we had a little while ago that we had by some people that were harkening back to even talking fondly about Hitler, and they were left-leaning type people and I don't think got banned. We're seeing really a political bias in this censorship, which is why I'm so concerned.

Regarding his plans for an election that seems almost certain, Sloan told Ezra that he was planning to work with a slate of candidates who share similar values as him:

Well, I want to ensure that there is a candidate worth voting for in every single riding in the country. Now, you mentioned different organizational things: in the long run, all of those options are on the table and I'm actively looking at several of them. I want to make sure that if an election is called in August, as some of the rumours say, that in as large a portion of the country as possible, there is a candidate worth voting for.

In some cases that might be a Conservative, in many cases it won't be. But this is the type of thing that I want to make sure is in place in the event of an early election.

Censorship minister awarded sole-sourced contract after declaring intent to run as Liberal

Guilbeault's censorship bill, C-36, criminalizes mean words on the internet, even for things you said years ago. It's retroactive and allows for secret nuisance complaints making social media users liable to pay up to $20,000 for every offensive tweet or Facebook post, in addition to $50,000 in fines to the government. But that's not all. The bill is truly designed to chase you right off the internet, through the threat of litigation chill. If Guilbeault, as reported by Blacklock’s Reporter, is concerned that mean tweets are undermining democracy, he better call the feelings cops today. Rebel News has uncovered evidence of a strategically crafted, sole sourced contract gifted to him by his friends in the federal government well after he announced his intentions to run with the Liberal Party, and after he was widely reported as the preferred candidate in his riding.

The proof was buried on page 21 of 329 of a recent order paper question response tabled in the House of Commons. "STEVEN GUILBEAULT for “Other professional services not elsewhere specified." Isn't that just conveniently vague? The amount of the contract is also convenient. At $9,759.08, the contract value falls just under the $10,000 amount that requires mandatory reporting on the proactive disclosure list and under the amount requiring an open tender process.

Guilbeault made a public spectacle of resigning from the environmental organization, Équiterre, in November 2018 before he was awarded this contract in January 2019 to run until March 13 2019.

In an article from the French-language paper Le Devoir dated March 12, 2019 — incidentally, one day before the end of that sole sourced contract —, it was clear Guilbeault was Trudeau's man for the job:

“The Liberal Party is counting on environmentalist Steven Guilbeault to win the riding, confirmed another source for Le Devoir. Mr. Guilbeault had left Équiterre in October, and the federal Liberals almost immediately appointed him co-chair of an advisory council on climate change.”

Rebel News sought a legal opinion regarding any potential ethics violations relating to this contract. Since Guilbeault was not yet an MP at the time, the contract is inappropriate but not illegal.

Internet censorship Bill C-36 will “see more things through to charges,” says RCMP specialist

A specialist with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police has praised Bill C-36, the Canadian federal censorship bill. The controversial legislation has received widespread support from liberal politicians across Canada, despite pushback from conservatives and online political commentators.

Blacklock’s reports that an RCMP specialist said that the bill will be useful in prosecuting bloggers and Facebook subscribers.

Bill C-36 proposes to make it “a discriminatory practice to communicate or cause to be communicated hate speech by means of the internet or other means of telecommunications in a context in which the hate speech is likely to foment detestation or vilification of an individual or group of individuals on the basis of a prohibited ground of discrimination.”

The law, if passed, would apply to communications by individuals on the internet, including on social media, blogs, news websites, and newsletters. It will also apply to user comment sections on public platforms like Facebook and YouTube.

The legislation will “see more things through to charges,” said Corporal Anthony Statham of RCMP’s British Columbia Hate Crimes Team, adding that “Law enforcement has to have the ability to use the law effectively.”

He made his comments at a webinar sponsored by the federally-funded Canadian Anti-Hate Network, where he noted that Section 319 of the Criminal Code currently bans “public incitement of hatred” by “communicating statements in any public place (that) incite hatred against any identifiable group.

“The government is now proposing to add a definition of hatred under this section of the Code,” said Statham. “Now, it may come as a surprise to many Canadians just in general, the fact we have this section that deals with promoting hatred but we haven’t actually defined what hatred is.”

Under Bill C-36, any internet publisher, blogger, or social media user suspected of posting hateful content without incitement of any crime could face house arrest or up to $70,000 in fines. The bill was introduced in June, minutes before Parliament adjourned for a three-month recess.

Bill C-36 will define hatred as “the emotion that involves detestation or vilification and that is stronger than dislike or disdain,” a clarification that Statham says will lead to more charges against those responsible for hate speech.

“I think the proposal to do that is a very good thing,” he said. “It may not seem like a massive development in terms of dealing with the scope of everything that’s been talked about here today, but it will equip law enforcement to see more things through to charges in this country.”

“This needs to be revisited,” added Statham. “An amendment to this section of the Code I believe will have a positive effect as far as our ability to do something about online hate when something needs to be done.”

“In Canada we don’t have anything regulating speech,” said Statham. “Under section two of our Charter Of Rights our freedom of expression is protected” adding that there is no such thing as free speech in Canada, “only freedom of expression.”

I went to Montreal to attend Justin Trudeau’s press conference on funding for the aerospace industry at the city’s convention centre. Various ministers were in attendance, alongside Quebec Premier Francois Legault.

My colleague Yanky Pollak and I did not have any expectations of being able to ask questions at the event, and we were not surprised that in the end our questions went unanswered. Patiently, I waited in line with other reporters from corporate media outlets. A man asked me to identify myself, which I did. He told me to stay in line and soon after, asked me how I got into the press conference, since I wasn’t accredited or registered. I told him that the security people had wanted to register me when I walked into the room, but they hadn’t done so. He even admitted this had happened before!

The same man then came to me to tell me that he approved my request for a question, but all other media outlets would be going before me. When it was my turn, I noticed that they had turned off the microphone before I got there. What a lack of respect! So I went up to Mr. Trudeau to ask my question. I was quickly intercepted by security, who surrounded me. I explained to them that the man in question had lied to me, and that he had given me permission to speak at the microphone.

Despite everything, Rebel News and other independent media outlets will always be the ones kept in silence. Real questions are too great a risk for these politicians to allow.

Trudeau, police response to church attacks not strong enough

Condemning any sort of attack against a place of worship ought to be universally laudable. We should never use qualifying language to soften such condemnations. When someone decides to vandalize, trash or set fire to a place of worship, they are committing a hate crime. There is no excusing this conduct.

This is a simple reality that politicians, police and citizens have collectively understood, that is, until recently. When 11 churches were vandalized in one night in Calgary alone, and in the very same week we learned of arsons at a church in Calgary and at a First Nations parish only an hour away from the city, people suddenly forgot this line in the sand. Worse still, the acts of hatred in Calgary were only the latest in a string of nearly fifty acts of arson and vandalism across the country. Where was the fundamentally Canadian sympathy towards a faith community under attack? Dead and gone apparently, a casualty of progressive politics.

Harsha Walia, the now-resigned head of the BC Civil Liberties Association, in response to the mass burning of churches, tweeted “BURN IT ALL DOWN.” She has since decried those condemning her hateful words as the hateful ones themselves. Walia’s sentiment was far from unique on social media, and unbelievably, many supported her harmful mentality unabashedly.

Justin Trudeau visited Calgary following the brazen anti-Christian attacks, but he was too busy campaigning at a door company to visit or comment on the hate crimes. However, he was quick to visit a mosque in Hamilton, Ont. mere days after it was vandalized in what he and countless other officials quickly took to Twitter to decry as a hate crime with no place in Canadian society. While I could not agree more with the sentiment, why, following a dozen hate crimes in Calgary, were Christians not afforded the same compassion?

First Nations leaders have been among the most outspoken opponents of these attacks. There is an undeniable legacy of harm from the Canadian residential school system, but justifying these attacks based on the actions of the government of Canada and the actions of churches half a decade ago is ignoble. These acts of violence sow division and hinder healing. Every religion has darkness in their history, using the sins of a religion’s past to justify current hate crimes is monstrous.

Sadly, many of the churches affected serve new immigrant communities, people who had no knowledge of or connection to the residential schools. Many of these immigrants fled from countries where persecution of Christians was commonplace, only to find it once more in Canada.

Immediately following the spate of vandalisms, I spoke with Calgary Police, who insisted that they had ample physical evidence and that they should be able to create a very short list of suspects. With that good news, we hoped for an imminent arrest.

It never came.

In fact, aside from a few press releases that discussed residential schools nearly as much as the hate crimes themselves, the public has heard nothing more. Numerous people on social media have suggested that the response of Calgary Police has been inadequate, and that if crimes of the same scale were committed against any other faith group in the city, much more would have been done. I reached out to police with these concerns, but they would only state that this is a complex and ongoing case and that they were not willing to comment further for fear of impacting their investigation.

While politicians and social media pundits waver in the condemnation of the hate crimes, or outright encourage them, Rebel News is unwavering in decrying these acts of discrimination. Hungary's Orban To Bring Referendum Over Controversial LGBTQ Law After EU Blowback

Along with Jarosław Kaczyński's Poland, Viktor Orban's Hungary's has developed a reputation as one of the "bad boys of Europe" due to Orban's embrace of what he calls "illiberal democracy." A strident nationalist, Orban has closed Hungary's borders to immigrants, drove out meddlesome foreign NGOs backed by billionaire George Soros, and other policies that are at odds with Brussels' meddlesome, transnational priorities.

At a time when the EU needs Hungary (whose notoriously low corporate tax rate has been a boon for economic growth) to help support America's international trade agenda which currently involves convincing the world (or at least the OECD) to adopt a minimum corporate tax rate, Brussels has renewed its rhetorical attacks on Budapest, demanding that the country scrap a new LGBTQ+ law.

Hungary says the law bars young children from being exposed to "sexual propaganda", while the European Commission insists it discriminates against LGBTQ+ people.

A spokesman for the Hungarian government defended the law and said the EU is open to discuss it.

"We stand ready to debate the law with those who have spoken out against it," he told the BBC on Tuesday. "The law is strictly about the protection of children. It says that for minors under 18, sexual education has to be appropriate and what we don’t want is the intrusion of so-called LGBTQ+ lobby NGOs and pressure groups walking into kindergartens and schools to explain to children why it’s a great idea to have hormone treatments and operations to change their sex before they’re 18. These are not acceptable practices."

Speaking in a video published on Wednesday, Orban bashed the EU's latest attack, insisting that he is not willing to back down in accordance with the EU's demands.

"Hungarian laws do not permit sexual propaganda in kindergartens or schools, on television and in advertisements," Orban said, adding that, in Western Europe, LQBTQ+ activists propagate their message in educational institutions, something Hungarians are against.

In response to the EU's legal action against Hungary, Orban said he would now hold a five-question referendum on the issue. Here are the questions, according to RT. The EU is already pushing a plan to tie access to the bloc's recovery funds to upholding the rule of law, something over which Budapest decided to take the European Commission to court over.

The law, which the EU has denounced as anti-LGBTQ, has prompted outrage in Brussels, with one of Europe's longtime leaders, Dutch PM Mark Rutte, even suggesting that Hungary should consider leaving the bloc.

While one provision of the controversial law focuses on increasing the punishment for convicted pedophiles, another stipulates that LGBTQ+ issues cannot be portrayed or promoted to under-18s. Orban says the law has been misunderstood by those in the EU, stating: "This is not against homosexuality. It’s about the right of the kids and the parents."

In addition to pushing for Hungary's outcast from the EU, PM Rutte has also said his "goal is to bring Hungary to its knees on this issue". We suspect Orban won't simply stand by and allow that to happen.

For people who haven’t traded in basic social intelligence for social credit realize that if the person who is issuing warnings of catastrophes is best friends with the very same people who will go on to create those catastrophes, those aren’t warnings. July 21, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – A Canadian doctor claims he has seen blood clotting in the majority of his patients who have had COVID-19 jabs and has issued a “grim” outlook that the worst is “yet to come” due to potential “permanent” damage caused by the injections.

“And so, I'm still trying to accumulate more information. But on the ones I have so far, 62 percent of them have evidence of clotting, which means that these blood clots are not rare. It means that the majority of people are getting blood clots that they have no idea that they're even having,” said Dr. Charles Hoffe of Lytton, British Columbia, in an interview with Vancouver-based Christian broadcaster Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson last week.

“So, Laura-Lynn, the most alarming thing about this is that there are some parts of your body, like your heart and your brain and spinal cord and lungs, which cannot regenerate. When those tissues are damaged by blood vessels, they are permanently damaged.”

Hoffe’s remarks are not his first concerning COVID-19 injections.

In April, he was punished by his local health authority because he raised concerns about the side effects he observed in some of those who had received the Moderna COVID-19 jab within his community.

Hoffe said he was barred from working in the local ER after his local health authority “suspended” his clinical privileges “for the crime of causing ‘vaccine hesitancy,’ for speaking out about my vaccine injured patients.”

Hoffe told Tyler Thompson that in a single dose of one COVID-19 jab (Moderna) there are “40 trillion messenger RNA molecules” and that only 25 percent of the jab stays at the injection site. Continue…

Immunologist and former NIH scientist J. Bart Classen analyzed data on COVID vaccine adverse events reported to the UK’s Yellow Card system and found thousands of reports of multiple symptoms that are “clear signals” of neurodegenerative disorders.

July 22, 2021 (Children’s Health Defense) – As cases pile up (445 as of July 9) of the reportedly “rare” neurological disorder Guillain-Barré syndrome in people who received a COVID vaccine — forcing the sluggish U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to add a warning label to the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) shot — scientists are issuing urgent warnings about a possible tsunami of other types of neurological injuries.

Immunologist J. Bart Classen, one-time National Institutes of Health (NIH) contract scientist and proprietor of Classen Immunotherapies, a Maryland biotechnology firm, published a paper in February outlining the potential for messenger RNA (mRNA) COVID vaccines to trigger development of prion diseases as well as other chronic diseases.

Prion or “prion-like” diseases include Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), multiple system atrophy (MSA) and others. A hallmark of these neurodegenerative diseases is the formation and clustering of misfolded proteins within the nervous system.

Classen’s February conclusions were based on analysis of RNA from the Pfizer injection.

Now, Classen has published a second paper on prion disease risks that draws on actual adverse event data from the United Kingdom following vaccination with the AstraZeneca or Pfizer COVID vaccines.

These data show the risk of neurodegenerative adverse events is far from theoretical. In fact, the AstraZeneca vaccine is already producing a safety signal for Parkinson’s disease, and the Pfizer vaccine may not be far behind.

Clear signal

Classen’s analysis focuses on roughly six months’ worth of data (through mid-June 2021) for two of the experimental COVID injections currently authorized in the U.K. — the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine that deploys genetically engineered adenoviruses and the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine reliant on lipid-encapsulated synthetic mRNA. (Due to insufficient data, Classen was not able to include the Moderna shot.)

The U.K. government’s Yellow Card adverse event reporting system organizes the data by organ system and symptom or disease.

Though both vaccines aim to spur production of coronavirus spike protein and related antibodies within the recipient, the two injections are “quite different in their composition,” according to Classen.

This might explain the first startling finding generated by Classen’s scrutiny of adverse reaction data: Thus far, the U.K. has seen 3.55 times more adverse reactions reported for the AstraZeneca injection compared to the Pfizer injection (745,965 vs. 210,168). Each AstraZeneca report describes an average of 3.63 adverse reactions versus 2.84 reactions, on average, for each Pfizer report.

This general pattern also holds true for “Nervous Disorders,” with 4.14 times as many such reactions reported for the AstraZeneca shot as for the Pfizer shot (statistically significant at the p=0.00001 level).

Within the “Nervous Disorders” category, Parkinson’s disease reactions display a “highly significant and specific increase … in the AstraZeneca reports compared to the Pfizer vaccine reports.”

Why We Petitioned The FDA To Refrain From Fully Approving Any Covid-19 Vaccine This Year

We are part of a group of clinicians, scientists, and patient advocates who have lodged a formal “Citizen Petition” with the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), asking the agency to delay any consideration of a “full approval” of a covid-19 vaccine. The message of our petition is “slow down and get the science right—there is no legitimate reason to hurry to grant a license to a coronavirus vaccine.” We believe the existing evidence base—both pre- and post-authorization—is simply not mature enough at this point to adequately judge whether clinical benefits outweigh the risks in all populations.

The covid-19 vaccines in widespread use have emergency authorizations (EUA), not actual approvals, a crucial regulatory distinction that reflects major differences in the level of regulatory scrutiny and certainty about the risk-benefit balance.

Our petition doesn’t argue that risks outweigh benefits—or that benefits outweigh risks. Rather, we focus on methods and processes, outlining the many remaining unknowns about safety and effectiveness—and suggest the kinds of studies needed to address the open questions.

If the FDA listens to us, they won’t give serious consideration to approving a covid-19 vaccine until 2022. Our first request is that the FDA require manufacturers to submit data from completed Phase III trials—not interim results. Trials by vaccine manufacturers were designed to follow participants for two years, and should be completed before they are evaluated for full approval, even if they are now unblinded and lack placebo groups. These Phase III trials are not simply efficacy studies; they also are necessary and important safety studies (as the study titles say), and all collected data remain invaluable.

We also call on FDA to require a more thorough assessment of spike proteins produced in-situ by the body following vaccination—including studies on their full biodistribution, pharmacokinetics, and tissue-specific toxicities. We ask the FDA to demand manufacturers complete proper biodistribution studies that would be expected of any new drug and request additional studies to better understand the implications of mRNA translation in distant tissues. We call on data demonstrating a thorough investigation of all serious adverse events reported to pharmacovigilance systems, carried out by independent, impartial individuals, and for safety data from individuals receiving more than two vaccine doses, in consideration of plans for future booster shots. We ask the FDA to request necessary studies in specific populations, including those previously infected with SARS-CoV-2, pediatric subjects, and those with immunological or other underlying medical complexities. Bill Gates funded the creation of a “vaccine passport” tracking system long before the coronavirus pandemic

(Natural News) The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation helped fund a study that aims to record a patient’s vaccination history by injecting dye under the skin.

Researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) developed a novel way to record a patient’s vaccination history. It was by storing data in a pattern of dye delivered under the skin at the same time as the vaccine.

In a December 2019 news release by MIT, the researchers suggested that the method was developed mainly to aid poor countries where traditional medical records are rare or do not exist. According to the MIT news release, the goal is for the dye to be “delivered under the skin at the same time as the vaccine.”

People are going to be vaccinated, quite literally, with a vaccine passport. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic may have revealed the true purpose of the specialized dye as talks of using vaccine passports and making COVID-19 vaccines mandatory continue to gain ground in the U.S. and elsewhere. (Related: Critics slam Biden administration’s vaccine passport plan for being “un-American.”)

Before the pandemic, vaccination campaigns in developing nations were made more difficult by little infrastructure for storing medical records. There’s no easy way to determine who needs a particular vaccine.

“In areas where paper vaccination cards are often lost or do not exist at all, and electronic databases are unheard of, this technology could enable the rapid and anonymous detection of patient vaccination history to ensure that every child is vaccinated,” Kevin McHugh, a former MIT postdoc and co-lead author of the study, said at the time.

LEVY: Activists have made Toronto parks into horrendous Shantytowns

If nothing else, the activists who’ve enabled the homeless to languish in squalor in Toronto’s downtown parks for more than a year are predictable.

As has occurred with every long overdue eviction of the Tent Cities, the activists – largely a group of artists, academics, harm reduction workers and other radicals associated with the Encampment Support Network (ESN) –issued a call to arms early Wednesday morning on social media to come down to Lamport Stadium.

This was the third encampment to be cleaned out in a matter of weeks and the activists intended to do everything they could to stop the eviction–or at least to put on a good show.

People were instructed to be at the encampment as early as 5 a.m. and look for “greeters” with “yellow armbands” to get their marching orders.
