Toronto Mayor John Tory was recently enjoying a meal on a patio at a Toronto restaurant when a frustrated citizen journalist confronted him over his harsh lockdown policies. It's no secret that Canada's largest city has experienced one of the longest lockdowns in the world.

The mayor, meanwhile, tends to only field questions from journalists who largely agree with him on his policies.

On yesterday's Rebel News DAILY Livestream, Ezra Levant shared his reaction to this person's choice to confront the mayor when he had the opportunity.

When you are sitting in a public street, publicly visible to the public walking by, and when you yourself have issued public edicts that not only limit peoples public lives, but their private lives too. I think the line moves a little bit and I would say there's two differences between this and the Tyler Shandro video.

The first is that there was no kids involved. There was no kids shown on screen there at all. I don't even know if that's a bar where kids are allowed, because I saw some alcohol. So, that kids thing doesn't apply. And this isn't a private home, it's not a private thing. Now, his wife was with him, but I don't think that's a mitigating factor. She was not brought into the conversation at all.

I think that what you saw here is actually the first time there's been a real debate, a real opposition, to lockdownism in 18 months. Every single governing body in Canada — every city hall, every provincial legislature, the federal Parliament, — it's all been unanimous, even though it's not unanimous with the people. There is no governing party or opposition party that's opposed to the lockdowns.

The Liberals are still running headlong into their useless, job-killing plastics ban, even after the pandemic offered a reality check about just how invaluable plastics are to creating a hygienic, convenient and clean world.

Stores suddenly stopped packing groceries into those E. coli-soaked reusable bags and went to the much-maligned plastic bags many municipalities had waged war on for years. Restaurants pivoted to delivery and take out, relying on plastic for affordable, sterile containers and utensils. Healthcare relied on plastics for intubation, face and eye shields and syringes.

And yet, the Liberals refuse to back down from their single-use plastics ban, listing single-use plastics as schedule one toxins alongside deadly substances like lead, asbestos and mercury. That's insane. If plastic were toxic, we'd all be long dead. Plastics are inert and a safely stored form of hydrocarbon energy that can be used, when incinerated efficiently, to create electricity. Plastic is the perfect garbage when handled wisely. It's certainly not Canadian plastic that ends up in the eyeballs of sea turtles or plugging up Chinese rivers.

However, plastics are an extension of the oil and gas sector, which explains the Liberal war on them. The plastics manufacturing industry creates over 100,000 well-paying Canadian jobs and saves lives. Banning single-use plastics is one of the dumbest ideas Trudeau has ever had.

As other provinces like Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan remove all COVID-related restrictions, here in Ontario, our science is different. Which means that our rules and regulations are, too.

Ontario’s health mandates — which are a revolving door of full lockdowns, partial reopenings and have shifted from a regional to colour-coded and now a phased approach — don’t actually have an end in sight. There has been no announcement of what comes after the province’s current stage three of reopening. The restrictions in Ontario fall under the Reopening Ontario Act, which is ironic because the legislation itself is the red tape standing in the way of a full reopening.

It seems like this is intentionally confusing. The laws change so much that no one can keep track, including those meant to enforce them.

In this story I bring you a prime example of this. Kyle Anthony and his group of friends felt targeted by local police for exceeding the outdoor gathering limits when they went to a local beach in Port Stanley, Ontario, to enjoy some good old-fashioned fun in the sun.

Armed with a No More Lockdowns sign, Kyle claims that he was politically profiled and that police assumed he didn’t respect authority because of this sign, which voices opposition towards sweeping lockdowns and indiscriminate health mandates. But it turns out, the police didn’t know that gathering limits had changed, and were attempting to enforce a moot law against Kyle and his friends!

This type of subjective rule enforcement, with no real justification as to how capacity limits or gathering restrictions are established, is exactly what you get when you have health officials morphing themselves into lawmakers. It’s discombobulated, unconstitutional, and arbitrary.

Kyle’s message is that law enforcement should all be trained and briefed when the laws magically change to reflect the doc-tators’ flavour of the day, so that they don’t embarrass themselves further.

INVESTIGATION: Could a church arsonist have caused the Lytton, B.C. fire?

On June 30, the village of Lytton, B.C., known as “Canada’s Hot Spot,” ended up engulfed in flames, dispersing its residents across nearby towns and cities after they were forced to flee for safety.

Shortly after, it was determined that two lives and 90 per cent of the village had been claimed by the raging fire, but what actually caused the flames is still unknown.

Limited theories such as climate change (despite Lytton burning to the ground once before, in the 1930s), and a passing train quickly became the general claims from media and politicians about the likely cause of the fire.

But could the people of Lytton have become victims of human negligence, arson, or even more specifically, another hate-motivated church burning, on First Nations band land?

Canada has now seen 48 churches burned or vandalized since the location of mostly unmarked grave sites near residential schools became international news. The highest concentration of fire-related attacks on Christian places of worship has been in British Columbia, mostly on First Nations land. And Lytton fits the description of the areas where these acts of terror have occurred to a T.

The village of Lytton is right in the centre of reserve land, and was home to St. George’s Indian Residential School, as well as a few historical churches. The general public was also recently made aware that Lytton First Nation was aware of “one marked grave, and several unmarked graves” near the site of the school.

So why are mainstream media and politicians jumping on the opportunity to use the Lytton fire as a reason for needing action on climate change — without even noting the possibility of arson, and using it as a reason to call for the end of the dangerous acts of hate being committed against the Christian community?

In this report, you’ll hear what I’ve found out so far about all of the likely theories for what caused the fire, including some expert opinions. You’ll also hear from some of the Lytton residents themselves, while they weren’t waiting for their green light to be able to go back and see what was left of life as they once knew it.

Federal budget won’t be balanced until 2070: PBO

Future generations will still be paying for the government’s growing debt if politicians do not curb spending, according to the Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO).

In its most recent Fiscal Sustainability Report, the PBO warns that the federal government will not return to a balanced budget until 2070 under the status quo.

In its estimate, the PBO says the government is projected to tack on an additional $2.7 trillion in debt before balancing the budget in 2070. Interest charged will cost Canadians approximately $3.8 trillion by 2070.

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) voiced its concerns following the PBO’s shocking report.

“Racking up trillions of dollars in debt and interest is not okay, and that’s why we need to see federal politicians start taking deficits seriously,” said CTF federal director Franco Terrazzano.

“If things don’t change, Canadians will lose out on a tonne of money to the bond fund managers because of government debt interest charges. That money can’t go to health care or lower taxes because of these huge debt interest costs.”

In April, the Trudeau government revealed a $354 billion deficit in the 2021 budget. The government announced $100 billion in new spending but no plan for a balanced budget.

Canada’s federal debt recently surpassed $1 trillion dollars following a frenzy of pandemic spending by the ruling Liberal government.

The CTF took aim at the Trudeau government’s massive spending and disregard for fiscal restraint.

“Prime Minister Justin Trudeau promised Canadians he would balance the books in 2019, but it turns out that we will have to wait about 50 years before we see a balanced budget,” said Terrazzano.

“Politicians should not be okay with five decades of red ink and families shouldn’t be forced to pay for all the overspending, so we need the feds to roll-up their sleeves and save some money.”

Based on 2021 federal and provincial budgets, Canadians’ share of federal and government debt totalled $57,500 per person.

LAVAL, Quebec, July 22, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — A Quebec nurse has testified that in accordance with provincial health department directives, her long-term care home administered morphine to coronavirus patients instead of caring for them to prolong their lives.

“I had never seen deaths happen so quickly,” Sylvie Morin told the Globe and Mail. Morin was an assistant chief nurse at Sainte-Dorothée, a long-term care (LTC) home where more than 100 residents died last year during the “first wave” of COVID-19.

She explained that the nursing home staff were instructed to give the residents thought to have COVID-19 a “respiratory distress protocol” that included morphine, the sedative Ativan, and the anti-nausea drug scopolamine. The Mayo Clinic notes that common side effects of injected morphine are “difficult or troubled breathing,” “irregular, fast or slow, or shallow breathing,” “shortness of breath,” and “very slow breathing.”

COVID-19, a respiratory illness, can cause severe breathing problems, especially in old people. (For healthy people under 65, the survival rate of the coronavirus is extremely high and the virus, especially with early treatment, does not cause severe breathing problems.)

“You should not take morphine if you have severe asthma or breathing problems…Morphine can slow or stop your breathing,” warns drugs.com, a popular reference website that offers “free, peer-reviewed, accurate and independent data on more than 24,000 prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines.”

Of Ativan, the Mayo Clinic warns, “This medicine may cause respiratory depression (serious breathing problem that can be life-threatening), especially when used with narcotic pain medicines.”

Morin said the protocol is “not what kills the person. It makes them more comfortable,” but pointed out that she had never seen such a rapid track to death.

“The person had symptoms, we tested, we got the results 24-48 hours later. A day later, they were dead. It wasn’t long.”

“They didn’t all die but most did,” said Morin.

The nursing home procedures stemmed from provincial Health Department orders, which were designed to “offload 80 per cent of hospital patients who didn’t need acute care,” so that hospitals weren’t overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients.

Such patients were either discharged or sent to LTC homes, according to a document filed at a coroner’s inquest, the Globe and Mail reported.

A health-board planning document also filed at the inquest revealed that the families of LTC residents were contacted to change their loved ones’ level of care to “move towards C and D levels.”

C and D levels of care aim to alleviate pain as a patient approaches death, while A and B levels are geared towards prolonging life.

How refreshing to see that Hogtown is continuing to divest itself of its public park pigpens. Just a day after Alexandra Park had its disgusting tent city torn down, another filthy encampment was eradicated next to Lamport Stadium.

Not that it was easy. Oh, the removal of tents isn’t problematic, especially with the city employing heavy construction equipment. It’s just that the woke mob and Antifa types showed up to cause trouble, resulting in some 26 arrests that included assault with a weapon, assaulting a peace officer and trespassing.

It was stunning to see that yet again, supposed homeless advocates continue to demand that the homeless should… remain homeless!

Toronto might be a so-called “sanctuary city,” in which lawlessness prevails or those in authority are supposed to turn a blind eye to certain types of lawlessness. But what these sanctimonious do-gooders fail to understand is that no one has the right to camp out in a public park for months on end — all the while turning that aforementioned park into a patch of land resembling a landfill site in the process.

And please keep in mind that the City of Toronto states that there are more than 6,000 shelter spaces, some of them now located in city-leased hotels.

In other words, there are more than enough spaces available for those who were/are camping in parks. Then again, some of these “campers” are mentally ill people, and being cast adrift outdoors is a tragic side effect of the progressive policy pertaining to “de-institutionalizing” mentally ill patients decades ago. As for others, they simply do not want to work. There’s no other way to put it.

Hopefully, the cleanup of Toronto’s remaining tent city parks shall continue in the days and weeks ahead.

But after the cleanup is completed, wouldn’t it be jolly if the authorities simply evicted a squatter the moment his or her tent is pitched? Why do we always have to surrender an entire park to a massive tent city, until eventually a cleanup kicks in? Why can’t we just nip this nonsense in the bud the second it begins — assuming there's still some political will left to do so?

EXCLUSIVE DOCUMENTS: Court documents reveal Green Party Leader Annamie Paul is being sued by her own party

New court documents filed Wednesday in Toronto in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice against Green Party leader, Annamie Paul reveal the tortured process she has endured as she tried to stay in control of the party she was elected to lead in October.

Paul narrowly dodged a leadership review earlier this week as party old guard faithful to former leader Elizabeth May and vocal anti-Israel elements in the party try to maintain their stranglehold on the reigns of power. The party terminated one of Paul's key advisors, Noah Zatzman, after he made comments on social media in response to Green MPs’ posts on the recent Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Zatzman enthusiastically labelled the party “Zionist” and supportive of Israel. The ensuing drama and infighting culminated in Green MP Jenica Atwin defecting to the Liberals, where her anti-Israel sentiments were, evidently, more appropriately reflected. The Green Party has also suspended $250,000 in funding that had been earmarked for Paul's next campaign.

Paul is the only Jewish federal party leader, however she was excluded from active participation in the Liberal government's ongoing anti-Semitism summit. After outcry, Paul was permitted to attend, but only as an observer.

The documents are part of a lawsuit against Paul filed by the Green Party itself and its fundraising arm, the Green Party Fund of Canada. The documents are public and do not appear to be subject to any publication bans.

The lawsuit also undermines the now-shattered narrative that calm has been restored to the party. The documents indicate that the Green Party and the Fund are jointly seeking to overturn an impartial arbitrator's decision, arguing he exceeded his authority in requiring party executives to cancel their non-confidence vote against Paul as well as a review of her party membership.

The documents state that Paul’s employment contract was with the Green fund, a separate legal entity that controls the party finances, as opposed to the party. Therefore, the suit argues that the arbitrator “erred in law” because he had no authority to impose a contract on the party itself.

Paul downplayed the lawsuit outside her Toronto office on Thursday afternoon:

I am not feuding with anyone. There is no infighting going on. This is really a one-sided attack that is focusing attention where it shouldn’t be.

Ontario Science Table recommends “vaccine certificates”

“Vaccine certificates” could help Ontario reopen sooner, according to Ontario’s COVID-19 Science Advisory Table.

In its briefing Wednesday, the Ford government’s science advisors included vaccine certification among its recommendations to the province.

The science table claims that a “vaccine certificate” is different from a vaccine passport.

“A vaccine passport provides proof of vaccination status for the purpose of travel across international borders … a verifiable attestation by an issuing body, for example, the Province of Ontario, that a person received an approved and complete series of COVID-19 vaccines,” the brief reads.

The science table believes “vaccine certificates” would be helpful on a short-term basis so that higher risk settings can reopen sooner. The group of scientists and health experts identify settings such as indoor dining and gyms as high-risk settings.

On a long-term basis, the brief says “vaccine certificates” could serve as a way to show immunization records.

“Given the anticipated seasonality of [COVID-19], as well as the possibility of additional variants of concern, establishing … [a] COVID-19 vaccine certification may be useful if public health measures need to be reintroduced,” the briefing reads.

Ontario already administers paper slips as proof of vaccination upon receiving a vaccine dose. Vaccination status can also be viewed and downloaded online.

Last week, Ontario Premier Doug Ford came out strongly against the idea of a vaccine passport.

“The answer is no, we’re not gonna do it. We’re not gonna have a split society,” Ford said.

Toronto Mayor John Tory said he would be in favour of a “vaccine certificate.”

“The bottom line is that if there are people including [the] government who are going to ask you to show that you’ve been vaccinated or not as just a practical means, then the same government, the provincial government in this case, has to provide something to people to be able to show they’ve been vaccinated,” Tory told CP24.

Foreign actors could blackmail, threaten voters and politicians next election: CSIS

Canadians should be on alert for foreign interference in the upcoming election, according to the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS).

In its special report on foreign interference threats, CSIS believes foreign actors may attempt to blackmail and threaten voters and politicians to influence the outcome of the upcoming federal election.

“State actors may use threats, bribery or blackmail to affect the voting behaviour of individuals inside or outside of communities,” reads the report.

“Individuals may be threatened or fear reprisal for themselves or their loved ones in Canada or abroad if they fail to comply with publicly supporting a particular candidate or contributing funds to the foreign state’s preferred party.

“While state actors may use coercive techniques to achieve their objectives, they may also use flattery, promise compensation, or appeal to an individual’s sense of pride towards another country to elicit the desired behaviour.”

CSIS warns that foreign actors may also attempt to influence MPs and their staff through romantic affairs.

“These relationships enable the manipulation of targets when required, for example, through requests for inappropriate and special ‘favours,'” warns CSIS.

“The individual may also be able to hinder or delay initiatives that are contrary to the foreign state’s interest.”

CSIS’ report follows a similar warning from another government body, the Communications Security Establishment (CSE). The CSE believes Canadians are likely to encounter efforts by foreign actors, namely Russia, China and Iran, to influence or interfere with their vote in the next federal election.

According to the CSE, Canada is a potential target because of its active role on the world stage and that foreign actors have the tools, capacity and understanding of Canada’s political landscape to take action in the future “should they have the strategic intent.”

'Pingdemic' Triggers Widespread Panic Hoarding At UK Supermarkets

Britain's supermarkets are struggling to ensure adequate food supply after reports of panic hoarding due to what the British press calls "ping-demic" - a reference to being "pinged" by the NHS test-and-trace system.

We noted on Monday that ping-demic was likely to "lead to food shortages," and that is precisely what is happening today.

The Independent reports UK's largest supermarkets are experiencing shortages after the number of people getting "pinged" on the NHS Test and triggered mass confusion.

The NHS app sent a half-million alerts last week, notifying users they have to quarantine for ten days because of possible close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

This has caused a supply chain shock and disruptions as hundreds of thousands of people panic buy food and fuel to survive the quarantine.

British newspapers and social media users published pictures of empty supermarket shelves.

"We're very concerned about the situation," Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng told Sky News when asked about panic hoarding at supermarkets. "We're monitoring the situation."

Sainsbury's, Britain's second-largest supermarket group, warned about supply shortages:

"We are working hard to ensure customers can find what they need.

"While we might not always have the exact product a customer is looking for in every store, large quantities of products are being delivered to stores daily and our colleagues are focused on getting them onto the shelves as quickly as they can," a Sainsbury's spokesperson told Reuters.

The ping-demic comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson lifted the remaining COVID-linked restrictions on movement and business at midnight on Monday, finally allowing people to move about more or less freely, even as new COVID cases are climbing in the UK and much of the EU.

A meat industry body warned that Britain's food supply chains are on the cusp of "failing" due to labor shortages.

British supermarket Iceland had to close several stores in recent weeks due to staff shortages.

Rabobank's Michal Every points out that ping-demic is hugely disruptive to businesses as crucial staff suddenly don't turn up to work when there are already labor shortages.

I am often asked the question: "If I have taken the "vaccine," how long will I live?

I deferred this question to a friend of mine, Dr. Mylo Canderian, Ph.D. [born Milos Iskanderianos, Corfu, Greece, 1938], who developed the patent for Graphene Oxide for use as a Hematological Bioweapon in 2015.

Dr. Canderian is of the opinion that 95% of the world's population are "Useless Eaters" who need to be euthanized as quickly as possible.

"Look at downtown Chicago, Baltimore, or Los Angeles," he has stated, "and you will clearly see why the Useless Eaters must be put down like rabid dogs."

He has expressed his disdain for "Infectious Educators" who promote Critical Race Theory, and is confident that the "vaccine" will put an end to "Human Cancer Upon the Earth."

Dr. Canderian is an ardent supporter of Freemasonry's Duty and Obligation to rid the world of the "Plague of Humanity."

So, I asked Mylo, "How can the "vaccinated" know with certainty how long they have to live once they have been jabbed?"

He presented me with the information, called the "End of Cycle Formula."

He explained how easy it is to calculate.

"The Power of Simplicity," he said. "There is a maximum cycle of ten years from injection to End of Cycle," [or death], he elaborated. "And it is extremely easy to determine."

He said any hematologist can see it within seconds under a microscope, and even more readily under an electron microscope. "The percentage of blood affected [or contaminated] by or with Graphene Oxide is the reciprocity of the End of Cycle calculation," he divulged.

In other words, an "inoculatee" [as he calls anyone jabbed with the Experimental Use Authorization Eugenics Depopulation Lethal Injection Bioweapon] having 20% Graphene Oxide deterioration in their blood will, barring any other input criteria, live for 8 years. [10 years less 20%].

Someone with 70% Graphene Oxide deterioration will not live more than 3 years. [10 years less 70%].

Canada to halt its mandatory quarantine hotel stay, but will only allow fully jabbed tourists to visit

The government issued a warning that 'all travellers must still provide a quarantine plan and be prepared to quarantine in case it is determined at the border that they do not meet the necessary requirements.'

OTTAWA, Ontario, July 21, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – The Canadian federal government is getting rid of its controversial three-day mandatory quarantine hotel stay for all air travelers as part of a border reopening program.

Starting August 9, the much-contested three-night “government authorized hotel stay requirement will be eliminated for all travellers,” reads a statement from the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) dated July 19.

“Fully vaccinated travellers who meet the requirements will be exempt from quarantine; however, all travellers must still provide a quarantine plan and be prepared to quarantine in case it is determined at the border that they do not meet the necessary requirements,” the PHAC statement advised.

Also effective August 9, U.S. citizens who have been “fully vaccinated” at least 14 days before their trip with a COVID-19 jab approved by Health Canada will be allowed to visit.

Travelers are allowed to bring their kids with them who have not had the COVID-19 jabs. That means U.S. citizens who have chosen not to get the COVID-19 jab will be barred from visiting the country for leisure purposes for the moment.

Fully jabbed travelers starting August 9 will also be allowed to skip a mandatory COVID-19 pre- and post-arrival PCR test unless they are randomly selected for one. Unvaccinated travelers still must take mandatory COVID-19 tests and quarantine at home for two weeks upon arrival.

In late January, the government announced that all air travelers would have to submit to a mandatory hotel quarantine for at least three nights while waiting for test results from a mandatory COVID-19 test given upon arrival.

Canadian Minister of Health Patty Hajdu said the new changes announced are being made due to “rising vaccination rates and fewer cases in Canada.”

“We can begin to safely ease border measures. A gradual approach to reopening will allow our health authorities to monitor the COVID-19 situation here and abroad. Canadians have worked hard and sacrificed for each other, and because of that work, we can take these next steps safely,” said Hajdu.

Starting September 7, Canada will also allow only “fully vaccinated” tourists from other countries to visit. On August 9, Canada will also allow five additional airports to accept international flights, up from the current four.

Vancouver International airport has installed lines for those with and without the COVID-19 jabs, which one must queue through upon entering Canada.

According to the airport's website, passengers are now split into “vaccinated and non/partially-vaccinated queues before reaching Customs.”

The federal government says that to be considered “fully vaccinated” a traveler must have received the full two doses of a government-approved COVID-19 jab “at least 14 days prior to entering Canada.”

All travelers entering Canada will be subject to a new border screening program that uses biometrics.

The government will use its “new border testing surveillance program at airports and land border crossings.”

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) had earlier announced that there was an “urgent” need to create an “Office of Biometrics and Identity Management” that could be used to verify the vaccine status of all Canadian and foreign travelers who enter the country.   Continue…

Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).

It’s a portal that allows Americans to report adverse reactions to vaccines. It has been the topic of many stories here as it shows currently around 11,000 deaths following the so-called Covid “vaccines.”

A lawsuit that we covered laid down the bombshell that a CDC whistleblower claims the actual post-vaccine death estimates from the CDC are around 45,000. This bit of information dominated conversations regarding the lawsuit, but there was an important gem also described that needs as much attention, if not more.

According to the lawsuit, the V-Safe database has much more data about vaccine adverse reactions than VAERS. It’s a mobile app that allows the tens of millions of vaxxed in America to easily report adverse reactions. As their website notes, “Use your smartphone to tell CDC about any side effects after getting the COVID-19 vaccine. You’ll also get reminders if you need a second vaccine dose.”

With VAERS data, one must proactively find the database and fill out a long questionnaire for their information to be registered. This is one of the reasons experts estimate between 1%-10% sampling; in other words, whatever the number of reactions are reported on VAERS should be multiplied by 10-100 in order to get a more accurate picture.

V-Safe is the opposite. Instead of making it difficult to report, it makes it very easy. Instead of being challenging to find (doctors have been told not to refer their patients to VAERS if they have a reaction), it is proactive and actually sends push notifications to the vaccinated to inquire about their conditions. The CDC has built a vast repository of data that is smartphone-confirmed, meaning nobody’s sitting in their basement with a VPN making false reports. This is the most accurate recording of information about the adverse effects of Covid-19 vaccines.

And it’s locked away with cybersecurity protocols that would make the NSA sweat. Why?

The answer is obvious. They are very well aware that there are mountains of adverse reactions to the Covid-19 “vaccines” but if they reveal it, any of it, they will verify what countless doctors, scientists, and whistleblowers have been saying for month. Angering lawmakers from New York to Michigan, the U.S. ban on nonessential travel from Canada will extend through at least Aug. 21, according to a statement Wednesday from the federal Customs and Border Patrol.

“Certainly this makes a big dent in our tourism picture,” Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau spokeswoman Renee Monforton told Bridge.

“Canada is a big market for us, especially for the summer. It hurts.”

“The Biden Administration’s failure to develop a plan to reopen the border between the United States and Canada is not only embarrassing, it highlights President Biden’s inability to lead,” U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI) said Wednesday.

“President Biden’s inaction is also stifling the economic recovery of communities in Michigan, New York, and states that share a border with Canada,” he continued, noting the ongoing border closure costs the U.S. economy an estimated $340 million per week.

“Michiganders deserve a President who will fight for them, not one that keeps them separated from their loved ones, lowers their standard of living, and threatens their livelihood,” Huizenga said.

Democrat U.S. Rep. Brian Higgins (D) was equally critical.

“For months now people and businesses along the border have been strung along month after month holding out hope for the border to reopen,” he said, according to Bridge.

Higgins added the Biden administration’s decision “harms economic recovery and hurts families all across America’s northern border; this is completely unnecessary.”

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) was mildly critical of the delayed reopening.

“An open border with our neighbors to the North means families will be reunited once again and much-needed relief for our border communities that depend on cross-border trade and supply chains,” Cuomo said, the Burlington Free Press reported.

The Trudeau government appears unwilling to target Cuba’s oppressive communist regime with targeted sanctions against those responsible for cracking down on anti-communist protesters.

According to Bloomberg, Foreign Minister Marc Garneau declined to comment on whether Canada would be pursuing sanctions. Instead, a spokesperson for Garneau’s office said that adding sanctions is one potential tool available in defending human rights.

On Thursday, the US Treasury Department issued sanctions on multiple Cuban officials. President Joe Biden said this was “just the beginning” of the US response to the Cuban regime’s repression of the recent wave of protesters on the island nation.

“I unequivocally condemn the mass detentions and sham trials that are unjustly sentencing to prison those who dared to speak out in an effort to intimidate and threaten the Cuban people into silence,” Biden said in a statement.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was recently forced to condemn the violence used by Cuban authorities to silence protesters.

When Trudeau was first asked if he would condemn the communist regime’s horrendous human rights abuses, the prime minister did not have an unkind word to say about the Cuban regime.

“Canada has always stood in friendship with the Cuban people. We have always called for greater freedoms and more defence of human rights in Cuba,” Trudeau said, stopping short of condemning the Cuban government outright.

“We will continue to be there to support Cubans in their desire for greater peace, greater stability and greater voice for how things are going.”

The opposition Conservatives are calling on the Trudeau government to fast-track applications by Cuban-Canadians to sponsor relatives seeking to leave Cuba. While the government did not directly address the Cuba proposal, Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino’s office says Canada would continue to prioritize family reunification in welcoming newcomers.

Human rights groups believe hundreds of anti-communist protesters have been jailed in Cuba in recent days. The Cuban regime has also cut out internet access in an effort to suppress the protests.

Five city councillors have signed an open letter asking Toronto Mayor John Tory to adopt a “nonviolent approach” when clearing out illegal homeless encampments in Toronto parks.

The letter, signed by councillors Shelley Carroll, Mike Layton, Josh Matlow, Gordon Perks and Kristyn Wong-Tam, calls on the mayor to stop using “extreme show of force” when the city dismantles homeless encampments.

“There is absolutely no need for batons, pepper spray or even guns, not when the work should be done by the City’s Streets to Home staff and other outreach workers,” the letter reads.

The letter comes days after the city finally dismantled an illegal encampment at Alexandra Park and Lamport stadium, resulting in violent clashes between activists and police.

At Lamport staidum, hundreds of protesters — most of whom are not homeless and do not live in the encampment — showed up to stop the tent city from being cleared.

Many of the activists blocking the police belonged to the Encampment Support Network, a volunteer network that supports residents of the illegal encampments.

Footage from the scenes at Lamport show the protesters actively blocking police from clearing the tents and refusing to obey commands.

Twenty-six people were arrested at Lamport Stadium. Seven of them are facing criminal charges while the rest were charged under the Trespass to Property Act.

Police said three officers were injured while clearing the encampment, and that objects were thrown and an unknown substance was sprayed at officers.

The City of Toronto has provided hotels and other forms of shelter to the residents of the illegal encampments, however many of them prefer to live in the encampments instead citing the fear from random check-ins.

It is anticipated that the illegal homeless encampment at Moss Park will be cleared in the coming days.

The church was constantly surveilled by the provincial government, harassed by health inspectors and interrupted by police. Both the pastor, James Coates, and the church as an entity were ticketed. Then Coates was arrested twice, and turned himself in to spend 35 days in Edmonton’s maximum security Remand Centre for the crime of refusing to close his church to worship.

The congregation kept meeting while Pastor Jake Spenst stepped up each week to the pulpit. The church property was ultimately seized and turned into a police fort in an effort to make GraceLife stop gathering. But that didn’t work either. The congregation started meeting in secret, and the government got a black eye in the court of public opinion for it.

I want to know about the planning of the persecution and seizure of GraceLife and the incarceration of Pastor Coates, and what Alberta Justice Ministry staff were saying about them when they thought no one was watching.

On May 21, we filed for access to information documents with the Alberta Justice Ministry asking for:

Copies of all documents, including e-mails, texts or instant messages, Slack messages, WhatsApp messages, memos, briefing notes, correspondence, reports, etc., regarding GraceLife Church and/or James Coates. Time period: from January 01, 2021 to May 21.

The Justice Ministry finally responded to our request on July 16, indicating that there are 1,500 pages available for release.

However, it will take government bureaucrats 58.25 hours to prepare the documents for release. Along with an explanation of the labour hours breakdown was a bill for $1,947.75, with approximately $1,000 of that payable immediately for work to begin.

West Kelowna man caught on video setting fire re-arrested, charged with arson

A West Kelowna, B.C. man accused of intentionally starting a fire has been arrested a second time and is now facing a single charge of arson, according to police.

West Kelowna RCMP officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Weber Road on July 10, around 8:30 p.m. Neighbours who called the police said they had extinguished a hillside fire in the area.

Video posted to the “Kelowna Alert” Facebook page on July 11 shows a shirtless man carrying what looks like a flaming torch, bending down and intentionally setting fire to the bushes in the Glenrosa neighborhood area.

The original post on the Facebook page stated "My neighbour saw him in the bushes behind his house and thought it was weird so he started recording him. Would have been much worse if it wasn’t for the quick response of all the neighbours with fire extinguishers."

On July 12, police said that witnesses had told them that they observed a man lighting a fire in the neighbourhood, and were also able to identify his truck. After a quick investigation, police findings were sent to the B.C Prosecution Service and a charge of arson was approved.

Suspect Stephen Leader, 36, was first taken into custody with no charges and later released. This morning a warrant was issued and he is currently in custody. He will appear in court on July 29.

Kelowna West MLA Ben Stewart has written a letter to B.C. Public Safety Minister Mike Farnworth calling for suspects arrested on serious allegations of arson to be held in custody until the charge assessment is complete.

“It’s bad enough when they (wildfires) are caused by thunderstorms and lightning, but it is even more upsetting when it’s caused by negligence or stupidity…and it’s completely outrageous when it appears people are deliberately trying to start fires.”

Stewart said there needs to be a balance between the right to be presumed innocent before proven guilty and public safety, “but I also believe the public has right to be protected from serious criminal conduct… especially where the evidence is so compelling, and the potential consequence to law-abiding citizens is so severe.” he said.

“I was astonished that person was then released back into the community,” Stewart's letter to Farnworth read.

Saskatoon resident Leo van Dam, 64, died on June 12 of a cardiac event, three days after taking a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

His widow Kathryn van Dam told Western Standard earlier this week that Leo had complained of a shooting pain in his back after his first Pfizer inoculation and that she blames the second for his death.

“I believe that this is from the second vaccination," Kathryn said.

“And there’s no doubt in my mind that’s what has happened.”

Kathryn had tried to convince her husband to not take his second COVID-19 jab about two weeks before his appointment. However, she said her husband was “adamant,” telling her that the jab was the only way to get the Canadian economy back on course and to return to them their freedom to travel.

“And he followed mainstream media and fell for it hook, line, and sinker,” Kathryn said.

She and Leo had been worried he would be at risk for contracting COVID-19 due to him having a heart condition. Leo had suffered a serious heart attack in 2015.

“We went to great lengths to make sure that we weren’t mixing with anyone. And he said that to me, too, ‘If I get COVID, Kathryn, it's unlikely that I will survive’,” the widow related.

However, Kathryn herself had reservations about the COVID-19 jab, and the couple had argued about it. Leo had asked her how many people had to get vaccinated before she would believe the vaccines were safe, and she had said the issue wasn’t just about numbers, but also time.

“We don’t know what the long-term effects of this experimental emergency usage inoculation is,” she told the Western Standard.

Kathryn would show her husband alternative news, and he would question the sources. Eventually she stopped showing Leo what she was reading, but she continued to voice her doubts in the popular narrative about the vaccines.

“… I was like, ‘I know that mainstream media is lying to us. Some of these far-fetched conspiracy theories – I don’t believe those either,’” Kathryn recalled.

“And I thought, ‘The truth is somewhere in the middle of all of this, but I don’t know what the truth is.’”

Kathryn told both the coroner and the police that her husband had died because of his second COVID-19 jab.

While Canada’s ruling Liberal Party under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has not officially revealed the costs of the program, according to Blacklock’s Reporter, estimates from Canada’s Parliament peg the total amount spent on the COVID hotels at $225,556,596.

Privy Council President Dominic LeBlanc claimed that they made the “best decisions” they could regarding the COVID jails.

“Other countries have done the same thing. We recognize every country has its sovereign responsibility to make the best decisions it can in the interests of protecting their populations,” said LeBlanc as reported by Blacklock’s Reporter.

On July 19, the Canadian federal government announced that, effective August 9, it is stopping its controversial three-day mandatory quarantine hotel stay for all air travelers as part of a border reopening program. Starting that day, U.S. citizens who have been “fully vaccinated” at least 14 days before their trip with a COVID-19 jab approved by Health Canada will be allowed to visit as tourists.  

In late January, the government announced that all air travelers would have to submit to a mandatory hotel quarantine for at least three nights while waiting for test results from an obligatory COVID-19 test given upon arrival.

Initially, the federal government footed the entire cost of the program, however starting in late February, travelers were expected to pay the cost for their three-day stay, which in some instances could top $5,000.

Despite this, exceptions were made for some travelers who were unable to pay for their hotel stay, meaning the government footed the tab.

These times of the new normal are not normal times at all. Psychoanalyst Joyce McDougall coined the term normopathy to connote an excessive—and pathological—attachment and adaptation to conventional social norms. English psychoanalyst Christopher Bollas has coined a term with a similar meaning – normotic, which seems to be a variation of and play on the word neurotic. Not having developed an independent sense of self, people who are normopathic or normotic have a neurotic obsession with appearing normal, to fit in – they are abnormally normal. At the bottom of this malady is an insecurity of being judged and rejected. Normotics are overly concerned with how others view them, rendering them afraid to creatively express their unique individuality (which remains undeveloped as a result), which results in being afraid of participating in the call of their own individuation. As Jung counsels, we should be afraid of being too healthy-minded, as, ironically, this can easily become unhealthy.

Many families, groups or societies are afflicted with normopathy (according to whatever the group’s rules are regarding what is considered “normal”), such that it is considered normal to be normotic. The strange thing is if that if almost everyone in the group is normotic, the pathology is seen as normal and healthy, which makes the person in the group who isn’t subscribing to being normotic appear to be ab-normal, the one with the pathology. Insanely, in a case of projecting their own craziness, the ones with the pathology then pathologize the one who doesn’t have it. Something of this nature is going on in our world at the present time.

One of the greatest dangers about unconsciousness is proneness to suggestion, where we take on other peoples’ perspective of the world—and of who we are—thereby easily falling prey to the prevailing collective groupthink of the herd. The proclivity towards hive-mindedness strongly correlates with being susceptible to having our minds hijacked, manipulated and controlled by forces outside of ourselves.

Whatever term we use—normopathic or normotic—there are many people who depend upon and derive their self-worth through external validation by others. Being social creatures, we have an unconscious undertow to want to belong to a group, which opens us up to the possibility of disconnecting from our own intrinsic urge to uniquely individuate. Instead of seeing the world through our own eyes, we then see the world—and ourselves, i.e., our own self-image—not through how others see us, but how we imagine others see us. The source of this process lies in our own creative imagination, which we have out-sourced to others. To connect with our own sovereignty, we have to find the source within ourselves from which our true creative power derives.

In the challenging times that we are living through, it is crucially important for us to not “fit in,” but rather, express our unique creative spirit that more than anything wants to come through us and find its place in the world. Instead of blindly and passively subscribing to the new normal, let us create “the new abnormal,” in which we step into the radical act of being our naturally creative selves. Whereas repressed and unexpressed creativity is the greatest poison there is to the human psyche, creativity given free license to express itself is the greatest medicine imaginable.
