Lincoln Project Never Trumpers Argue More Will Die Because of January 6 than Did in 9/11 Attacks

Steve Schmidt, cofounder of the disgraced, anti-Trump Lincoln Project, said the January 6 Capitol protests are “likely to kill a lot more Americans than were killed on the 9/11 attacks,” which resulted in the deaths of thousands of Americans on U.S. soil.

Speaking at the Lincoln Project’s virtual July 7 town hall discussing what the far-left PAC is doing to “defend democracy in 2022,” Schmidt echoed the sentiments of his “friend,” MSNBC political analyst Matthew Dowd, suggesting the January 6 Capitol protest will be worse in terms of casualties than 9/11.

“My friend Matthew Dowd, our friend, you know talked about this. He couldn’t be more right. The 1/6 attack for the future of the country was a profoundly more dangerous event than the 9/11 attacks,” Schmidt said, asserting that the “1/6 attacks are likely to kill a lot more Americans than were killed on the 9/11 attacks, which will include the casualties of the wars that lasted 20 years following it.”

“We have had periods of political violence in this country, and I believe we’re on the edge of another one, tragically. And we have to fight back against it at the ballot box,” he continued:

Schmidt’s remarks followed Tuesday comments from Dowd, who told MSNBC’s Joy Reid that the 1/6 Capitol protest was “worse than 9/11″ because it divided the country.

“Think about that, if we had done nothing after 9/11,” Dowd said. “To me, though there was less loss of life on January 6, January 6 was worse than 9/11 because it’s continued to rip our country apart and give permission for people to pursue autocratic means.”

“So I think we’re in a much worse place than we’ve been,” he continued. “And I think, as I’ve said to you before, we’re in the most perilous point in time since 1861 in the advent of the Civil War.”

Despite dramatically stepping down from the Lincoln Project after revealing he was molested as a child and claiming ignorance to cofounder John Weaver’s alleged sexual “misconduct,” Schmidt has taken on a more active role in the organization.

FDA, CDC Condradict Pfizer, Claim There's No Need For "Booster" Vaccines… Yet

Just hours after Pfizer and its partner BioNTech announced their plan to seek federal authorization to market a "booster" jab that they said would provide better protection against COVID variants like Delta, the FDA and CDC issued a joint statement contradicting Pfizer by claiming that there's no evidence that booster vaccines will be necessary.

The two federal entities said the US is "fortunate to have highly effective vaccines that are widely available for those 12 and up" and "Americans who have been fully vaccinated do not need a booster shot at this time."

However that could still change since the "FDA, CDC and NIH are engaged in a science-based, rigorous process to consider whether or when a booster might be necessary." If it is, then "we are prepared for booster doses if and when the science demonstrates that they are needed."

The CDC and FDA have issued an unusual evening joint statement, which pushes back on Pfizer's announcement that it will seek approval for a third shot (second booster).

After the developments of yesterday, when Dr. Fauci insisted the US-developed vaccines are extremely effective despite Israeli scientists saying the Pfizer jab might be only 64% effective against the Delta variant, the fact that these government agencies are breaking with Big Pharma is just the latest sign that - as former NYT reporter Alex Berenson posited - "they can't even keep the lies straight anymore."

Additionally, Pfizer and BioNTech said Thursday evening that they would begin developing a version of a COVID-19 vaccine that targets the delta variant, and that they expect to launch clinical trials of that jab next month.

US Blacklists Over 20 More China Firms For Human Rights, Beijing Vows "Relentless Retaliation"

On Friday the Biden administration has rolled out with a new human rights-related blacklist of companies from China, Russia and Iran - including over twenty Chinese entities targeted over abuses and high-tech surveillance in Xinjiang province, adding to the prior June list. Over 30 international companies total are said to be newly blacklisted in the move.

Included among them are Shenzhen Cobber Information Technology, the Beijing-based academic institution China Academy of Electronics and Information Technology, and Leon technology, among others. China Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin vowed "all necessary steps" in retaliation to "protect the rights and interests of its companies" against US interference.

An op-ed in the prominent state-run English language Global Times further vowed "relentless retaliation" for the new Xinjiang and Hong Kong related blacklist, the Friday publication wrote.

"All sanctions against Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland will receive relentless retaliation. The US and Europe will suffer the same losses as China from the conflict. We advise them to restrain themselves," it said.

Also interesting is this line, which appears to be the officials consensus in Beijing: "The Biden administration repeating the old path of the Trump administration means it will repeat the latter's failure." The op-ed added: "It will show that Biden's team is as incompetent as his predecessor, with a lack of imagination in a stalemate."

Last month five Chinese entities were targeted for "accepting or utilizing forced labor in the implementation of the People’s Republic of China’s campaign of repression against Muslim minority groups in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region" - with this list now being greatly extended.

Generally, entity-listed companies are met with huge hurdles if they apply for licenses from the Commerce Department, facing extra scrutiny when seeking US suppliers, making doing business with American companies extraordinarily difficult if not impossible.

‘God Bless Abortions’ sign draped across massive Jesus statue in Arkansas by activists over ‘attempts to ban’ terminations

A group of activists has claimed responsibility for draping a sign reading “God Bless Abortions” on a 60-plus-foot Jesus Christ statue in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, saying the act was a message on abortion legislation.

Images of the banner, placed on the Christ of the Ozarks monument located at the top of Magnetic Mountain, began circulating on Friday after it was erected overnight.

Guerilla protest art group Indecline took credit for hanging the banner and said in a press release that it was meant as a “direct response to the dramatic attempts being made in Arkansas and throughout the South, to ban abortion services to women in need.”

Protesters for Indecline snuck onto the mountain with a team disguised as a construction crew, according to local media. The group has previously made waves for similar art stunts with left-wing messaging. It erected nude statues of then-President Donald Trump in cities in the US in 2016, and vandalized an religious billboard in Mississippi earlier this year, giving it a pro-choice message instead.

Indecline is already capitalizing on its latest stunt, offering t-shirts on its website of the Christ of the Ozarks statue with a “God Bless Abortions” sign. The proceeds will go towards the Arkansas Abortion Support Network, the group said.

Arkansas is one of multiple states with new laws that have reignited debate around abortion and the 1973 Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision in the US.

A new impending law in Arkansas that would ban most abortions except in the case of saving the mother’s life is considered the most restrictive in the country by activists, though it does not enter into effect until the end of the month. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Planned Parenthood previously filed a lawsuit in May, demanding the law be struck down.

‘Wasteful spending!’: Bipartisan committee approval of $3.3 billion in US security assistance to Israel slammed on Twitter

Many United States taxpayers were far from pleased after the bipartisan US House Appropriations Committee approved a $3.3 billion security assistance package to Israel at a time when so many Americans are struggling.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) celebrated on Twitter Friday, following the approval last week, thanking both the Democrat and Republican members of the House Appropriations Committee.

AIPAC declared that the “critical aid helps ensure our ally has the resources needed to defend itself by itself in the world’s most dangerous region.”

Despite AIPAC’s enthusiasm, many Americans on social media were not happy to see their tax money being shipped off to a country with one of the highest GDPs in the world.

“As an American taxpayer I do not approve of this wasteful spending,” complained one person, while another commented, “Are they broke? It’s humiliating for them to even ask for or accept this money.”

Others questioned why the money would not be going toward Americans and joked that the US “must be currently running at a surplus if we have all this money to give away” – a reference to the nation’s $28.5 trillion debt, which is currently on track to reach as high as $89 trillion by 2029, according to the US Debt Clock website.

“There are millions of people who are homeless, unemployed, suffer from trauma and have a multitude of issues that need to be taken care of first,” another person wrote.

Israel is the second-highest receiver of US foreign aid, behind only Afghanistan.

The aid was approved last week as part of the 2022 State and Foreign Operations bill, which also condemned perceived “anti-Israel bias” at the United Nations – which has launched investigations into alleged Israeli war crimes – and expressed concern over international boycott movements of Israel.

AIPAC declared last week that “the committee’s appropriation, with no added political conditions, reflects the strong bipartisan commitment for Israel’s security in Congress.”

Newly surfaced emails show Fauci's agency gave grants for bat coronavirus research to US-Chinese scientists; Wuhan lab scrambled to find disinfectant

Newly surfaced emails show connections among a U.S. health agency headed by Dr. Anthony Fauci, EcoHealth Alliance, and Chinese scientists. The recently exposed documents also show that researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology were scrambling to find disinfectant and asked a National Institutes of Health official for help.

Judicial Watch obtained 301 pages of emails and other records from National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases officials who had connections with the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China. According to the documents that were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by Judicial Watch, the NIAID gave at least nine grants to EcoHealth Alliance, a U.S. nonprofit organization focused on finding unknown viruses and infectious diseases in nature. EcoHealth Alliance reportedly used those NIAID grants to work with Chinese scientists on research such as probing the emergence of a bat coronavirus — years before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Judicial Watch lists the nine grants to EcoHealth Alliance from the NIAID, where Dr. Fauci has been the director since 1984:

One grant awarded each year between 2010 and 2012 to EcoHealth Alliance, working with Chinese collaborator Jinping Chen of Guangdong Entomological Institute, to study in China "Risk of Viral Emergence from Bats."

One grant awarded each year from 2014 to 2017 to EcoHealth Alliance, working with Chinese collaborator Changwen Ke of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of Guangdong, in a project titled "Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence."

A grant was issued in 2012 to EcoHealth Alliance, working with Xiangming Xiao of the East China Normal University, in a project titled "Comparative Spillover Dynamics of Avian Influenza in Endemic Countries."

A grant was issued in 2018 to EcoHealth Alliance, again working with Ke in the project called "Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence."

The recently emerged emails also show that scientists at China's Wuhan lab were scrambling to find disinfectant for equipment, including positive pressure personnel suits.

The physical facilities of the Wuhan Institute of Virology were completed in January 2015, which made it China's first biosafety level 4 laboratory. BSL-4 laboratories are "used to study infectious agents or toxins that pose a high risk of aerosol-transmitted laboratory infections and life-threatening disease for which no vaccines or therapies are available," according to the U.S. Health and Human Services.

"Laboratory personnel are required to wear full-body, air-supplied suits, which are the most sophisticated type of PPE," the HHS states of BSL-4 labs. "All personnel shower before exiting the laboratory and go through a series of procedures designed to fully decontaminate them before leaving."

Biden to Sign Executive Order Targeting ‘Lack of Competition’ in American Economy

President Joe Biden will sign an executive order aimed at increasing competition in the U.S. economy, the White House said Friday.

“For decades, corporate consolidation has been accelerating. In over 75 percent of U.S. industries, a smaller number of large companies now control more of the business than they did 20 years ago. This is true across healthcare, financial services, agriculture, and more,” the White House said in a fact sheet released before the signing ceremony.

“That lack of competition drives up prices for consumers. As fewer large players have controlled more of the market, mark-ups (charges over cost) have tripled (pdf). Families are paying higher prices for necessities—things like prescription drugs, hearing aids, and internet service.”

The order includes 72 initiatives by over a dozen federal agencies that will help promote competition, the Biden administration says.

That includes making it easier to change jobs and raise wages by banning or limiting non-compete agreements and occupational licensing requirements deemed unnecessary, lowering prescription drug prices, letting hearing aids be sold over the counter at drug stores, requiring upfront disclosure by airlines of add-on fees, and banning early termination fees by internet providers deemed excessive.

“President Biden is taking decisive action to reduce the trend of corporate consolidation, increase competition, and deliver concrete benefits to America’s consumers, workers, farmers, and small businesses,” the White House said.

One key area is addressing big tech firms, which include Facebook and Google’s parent company Alphabet. The order takes aim at so-called killer acquisitions, or how big tech companies buy up potential competitors, by increasing scrutiny of such purchases or mergers. The administration is also accusing big tech platforms of gathering too much personal information and is directing the Federal Trade Commission to establish rules on surveillance and data accumulation.

Pushback against Big Tech is one of the few areas Republicans and Democrats agree action is needed, though they sometimes differ on how to approach the issue.

Aurelien Portuese, director of antitrust and innovation policy at Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), said the order shows “the White House is attempting to meddle into the work of federal antitrust agencies” and urged the administration to make sure agencies properly enforce existing laws instead of trying to implement new rules.

Nick Fuentes BANNED from Twitter Following ADL and SPLC Hitpieces

Fuentes had been temporarily suspended earlier this year

Nick Fuentes, the host of America First, has been permanently banned from Twitter, one day after a hit piece on him was published by the ADL.

Fuentes, the conservative populist commentator and host of the nightly show America First, was banned from Twitter on Friday, with Fuentes announcing his permanent ban on Gab and Telegram. It is unclear at the time of writing exactly why Fuentes was banned from the Big Tech platform. National File has reached out to Twitter for comment, and to ask whether the ADL’s recent hit piece may have impacted their decision, but did not receive a response by the time of writing.

Some following Fuentes’s ban were quick to highlight that the ADL, the well known anti-free speech “Jewish special interest group,” had written a hitpiece on him only the day before, and was posted to Twitter within the hour just before his ban, claiming that he is a “white supremacist leader and organizer” who “traffics in disinformation and division.” In a statement, Fuentes said that “the ADL published a report on me and then I was permanently suspended hours later. That’s what happened,” adding that he would discuss his ban more later on his Telegram channel.

Stunning Daszak/Fauci Emails Reveal Non-Zoonotic Coronavirus and Attempts to Infect Human Cells.

EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Daszak emailed Anthony Fauci in 2017 outlining his collaborative research on a “bat-origin coronavirus” with the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s Shi Zhengli, which included “doing assays to find out if it can infect human cells in the lab.”

Daszak titled the October 2017 email, released via a Freedom of Information Act filed by Judicial Watch, “Confidential – A new bat-origin coronavirus emerging in pigs in China discovered under our NIAID R01.” Daszak appears to be referencing a $3.7 million grant from Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) to the organization EcoHealth Alliance with the declared purpose of “understanding the risk of bat coronavirus emergence.”

The grant, however, likely led to “gain-of-function” research collaboration with the military-linked Wuhan Institute of Virology.

In the email to Fauci and his NIAID colleagues, Daszak, who was recently recused from the Lancet’s COVID-19 commission, attaches an unpublished paper on a “novel bat-origin Coronavirus” that’s “not known to be zoonotic.”

“We’re also doing assays to find out if it can infect humar cells in the lab — so far no evidence of this,” he adds before listing Wuhan researcher Shi Zhengli as a co-Principal Investigator. This description also undermines Fauci’s past attempts to distance his agency both financially and via personnel to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Daszak also reveals that he met Fauci “again” on the day he sent the email – October 1st, 2017 – which coincides with the opening day of a conference on “Emerging and Re-emerging Viruses.” Fauci delivered the keynote address at the event, and Daszak and Shi also spoke.

FNC’s Carlson on the Biden Admin’s ‘Hyper-Aggressive’ Vaccine Push: They Are No Longer ‘Pro-Choice’

Thursday on FNC’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” host Tucker Carlson decried the aggressive push from the Biden administration and the media to vaccinate people against COVID-19.

Carlson questioned the science behind the push and noted historical similarities of this push to other authoritarian regimes.

CARLSON: This show specializes in the obvious, that’s what we do. So, tonight we’d like to begin with the most obvious observation of all — force works.

If you decide to make people do something, if you demand they do it, and punish them if they don’t, generally they’ll do it. They’ll comply. They don’t really have a choice.

If you tell them they have to take a dose of experimental medicine for example, otherwise, they can’t have a job and their kids can’t be educated, most of them will in the end take it. And in fact, most of them have.

According to latest CDC data, 67% of all American adults have received the coronavirus vaccine so far, 67%. That is a huge number in a country like this one. Try to think of anything else that 67% of all adults have done recently.

For perspective, only about 24 of the country’s population voted for Joe Biden in November and that was enough to make him the President of the United States. So, in some ways, the administration has done something amazing. Get the vaccine or else — that was their message from day one, and most people did.

But not everyone did. There are still holdouts.

These are not people who haven’t heard of the vaccine or can’t afford it or just can’t find a dose, it’s free. It’s everywhere, and the media never stop talking about it. Every news hour is a Pfizer commercial.

So, these are people who just don’t want to take it.

Many of them have already recovered from COVID and they have active antibodies. They don’t need the vaccine. Should people take medicine they don’t need? Apparently, they don’t think so. Others may have religious objections and that used to be considered a valid reason, back when our leaders acknowledged God is more powerful than themselves. Still, others may have noticed that the vaccine was developed very quickly.

The first universal coronavirus vaccine ever, and still to this day, has not received FDA approval. Maybe that gives them pause. Who knows?

Maybe there are other reasons, including the stunningly high death rate on the government’s own vaccine harm database or the reports of young people developing cardiac emergencies in response to the shot. Maybe all of the above, we don’t know, we haven’t asked. And actually, at this point, it doesn’t matter anyway.

The Biden administration is no longer accepting excuses.

Teen Allegedly Raped and Murdered by Migrants Had 11 Ecstasy Pills in Her System

ustrian 13-year-old Leonie, who was found dead last week, is said to have been given at least 11 ecstasy tablets before she was allegedly raped and murdered by several Afghan migrants.

A full autopsy of the teen is expected in the coming weeks, but already, investigators believe she may have been given a large number of drugs. A coroner has claimed to have seen evidence of violence on the teen’s body, as well.

According to a report from the Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung, the coroner noticed fingerprints on the victim’s neck and compression marks on her chest, suggesting someone may have pressed their knee into her.

Police reports have also suggested that the teen may have died of heart failure after being allegedly raped by the four Afghan migrants, one of whom is yet to be apprehended and is subject to an EU-wide arrest warrant.

Investigators say that the 13-year-old met up with two of the suspects, a 16-year-old and a 23-year-old, on June 25th at the Danube canal in Vienna. The pair of migrants allegedly started giving her ecstasy pills while at the canal before bringing her to an apartment in Donaustadt.

The body of the 13-year-old was found near the apartment wrapped in a carpet against a tree. Emergency services attempted to revive the young teen but were not successful. A police dog was later able to lead officers to the apartment, where she is believed to have been murdered.

Days after the discovery of Leonie’s body, three Afghan migrants aged 16, 18, and 23 were arrested, while a 22-year-old fourth suspect is still on the run.

It also emerged that three of the four Afghans had been declined asylum. But due to appeal processes, they were never deported, despite the asylum claim denials occurring as early as 2017 in the case of the wanted 22-year-old.

The fugitive migrant has also been on trial three times for crimes including drug trafficking and bodily injury, all of which occurred after his asylum rejection.

Mexican President Claims ‘Attack from Corrupt Media’ After Video Shows His Brother Accepting Piles of Cash

Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said his administration is under attack from corrupt media when asked about a video that shows one of his brothers accepting stacks of cash. The video marks the second time one of the president’s brothers is seen taking money.

A new video released by Latinus shows a meeting between AMLO’s brother, Martin Jesus Lopez Obrador, and businessman David Leon, where they are seen exchanging cash. According to Latinus, Leon allegedly gave $150,000 pesos ($7,500 USD) to the president’s brother ahead of the 2016 presidential election–a campaign donation that, according to Latinus, was never reported.

The video caused an uproar on Thursday night, leading Leon to defend the transfer as a personal loan.

During his morning news conference, Lopez Obrador claimed the video was edited to attack him as part of a strategy by “corrupt” media figures whom are protecting individuals who stole from government accounts. The president said the money exchange in the video was a personal loan and the coverage is massaged to create the appearance the president will benefit from the matter.

Martin Jesus Lopez Obrador is the second of AMLO’s brothers accused of collecting campaign donations or bribes on tape. In 2020, Mexican journalist Carlos Loret de Mola exposed Pio Lorenzo Lopez Obrador in another video allegedly collecting cash. That video led to an ongoing investigation by Mexico’s election commission.

Father uses DUCT TAPE to restrain sex offender, 39, who broke into his five-year-old daughter's bedroom and masturbated in front of her while repeating: 'I love you'

A California father used duct tape to restrain a convicted sex offender who allegedly broke into his family's home and masturbated in front of a five-year-old girl.

The chilling incident unfolded at about 5am Tuesday in Grayson when the girl and her grandmother woke up to find Daniel Diaz, 39, standing outside their bedroom window with his genitals exposed, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office.

'He went and knocked the door, he tried to open the door, peeking through the window, trying to see and he was showing his private parts around the windows,' Ceci Ramirez, the girl's eldest sibling told CBS13 as she translated the events for her mother Martha Zapeda.

Ramirez said Diaz kept repeating: 'I love you,' as he touched himself before the grandmother went to wake the girl's parents.

The break-in was captured on surveillance video from outside the home, which allegedly shows Diaz peering through the window.

World Economic Forum’s ‘Concept 2021’ Deals with Attacks to Supply Chains – This Is Eerily Similar to Bill Gates Sponsored Pandemic Simulation in 2019

In 2019 the World Economic Forum held a simulation about reactions to a world pandemic sponsored by Bill Gates. This year ‘Concept 2021’ focuses on Internet supply chain failures.

In 2019 Bill Gates and Company held an exercise known as Event 201. It was put together only a few months before COVID-19 hit the United States. The Event claimed the following about its exercise:

Event 201 was a 3.5-hour pandemic tabletop exercise that simulated a series of dramatic, scenario-based facilitated discussions, confronting difficult, true-to-life dilemmas associated with response to a hypothetical, but scientifically plausible, pandemic. 15 global business, government, and public health leaders were players in the simulation exercise that highlighted unresolved real-world policy and economic issues that could be solved with sufficient political will, financial investment, and attention now and in the future.

The exercise consisted of pre-recorded news broadcasts, live “staff” briefings, and moderated discussions on specific topics. These issues were carefully designed in a compelling narrative that educated the participants and the audience.

The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, World Economic Forum, and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation jointly propose these recommendations.

The Event 201 ‘exercise’ mirrored the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020 the World Economic Forum conducted a simulation called “Cyber Polygon 2020” that predicted a coming global catastrophe caused by a worldwide “cyber pandemic.”

No Autopsies on COVID-19 Deaths: A Missed Opportunity and the Lockdown of Science

Abstract

Background: The current outbreak of COVID-19 infection, which started in Wuhan, Hubei province, China, in December 2019, is an ongoing challenge and a significant threat to public health requiring surveillance, prompt diagnosis, and research efforts to understand a new, emergent, and unknown pathogen and to develop effective therapies. Despite the increasing number of published studies on COVID-19, in all the examined studies the lack of a well-defined pathophysiology of death among patients who died following COVID-19 infection is evident. Autopsy should be considered mandatory to define the exact cause of death, thus providing useful clinical and epidemiologic information as well as pathophysiological insights to further provide therapeutic tools.

Methods: A literature review was performed on PubMed database, using the key terms: "COVID-19", "nCov 19", and "Sars Cov 2". 9709 articles were retrieved; by excluding all duplicated articles, additional criteria were then applied: articles or abstracts in English and articles containing one of the following words: "death", "died", "comorbidity", "cause of death", "biopsy", "autopsy", or "pathological".

Results: A total of 50 articles met the inclusion criteria. However, only 7 of these studies reported autopsy-based data.

Discussion: The analysis of the main data from the selected studies concerns the complete analysis of 12,954 patients, of whom 2269 died (with a mortality rate of 17.52%). Laboratory confirmation of COVID-19 infection was obtained in all cases and comorbidities were fully reported in 46 studies. The most common comorbidities were: cardiovascular diseases (hypertension and coronary artery disease), metabolic disorders (diabetes, overweight, or obesity), respiratory disorders (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), and cancer. The most common reported complications were: acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), acute kidney injury, cardiac injury, liver insufficiency, and septic shock. Only 7 papers reported histological investigations. Nevertheless, only two complete autopsies are described and the cause of death was listed as COVID-19 in only one of them. The lack of postmortem investigation did not allow a definition of the exact cause of death to determine the pathways of this infection. Based on the few histopathological findings reported in the analyzed studies, it seems to be a clear alteration of the coagulation system: frequently prothrombotic activity with consequent thromboembolism was described in COVID-19 patients. As a scientific community, we are called on to face this global threat, and to defeat it with all the available tools necessary. Despite the improvement and reinforcement of any method of study in every field of medicine and science, encouraging the autopsy practice as a tool of investigation could also therefore, help physicians to define an effective treatment to reduce mortality.

Are you overusing hand sanitizer? Doctors say this could lead to blindness and even death

Medical experts are urging caution and telling Americans not to overuse hand sanitizer, especially if it was not manufactured in the United States. This is because the hand sanitizer might contain one toxic chemical: methanol.

Hand sanitizers in the U.S. are banned from using methanol. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) noted that it is not an “acceptable ingredient” in any drug, and can be toxic to the point of causing death. Instead, manufacturers of hand sanitizers use safer alternatives like isopropanol and ethanol.

But many disinfectant products produced overseas can still contain this potentially deadly chemical. Furthermore, the FDA has warned that not every hand sanitizer product in the American market that has methanol in it might not have it listed as an ingredient.

Doctors are warning that methanol can be absorbed through the skin. This can result in methanol toxicity. Some of its symptoms include vomiting, nausea, lightheadedness, heart palpitations and headaches, according to Dr. Jennifer Love, an adjunct instructor at Oregon Health and Science University. Long-term absorption of methanol could result in vision damage, seizures, coma, permanent damage to the nervous system and even death.

Medical experts said using methanol in very limited amounts on intact skin should not cause significant problems because the human body can metabolize the toxin. But Dr. Asim Tarabar, a medical toxicologist and chief of emergency medicine at the Veterans Affairs Connecticut Healthcare System, warned if people continue using hand sanitizer with methanol multiple times a day for long periods of time, it could lead to dangerous health effects.

“It all depends on when their system is overcome or overwhelmed,” said Tarabar. “Everything depends on concentration and how much it is ingested in the body.”

People with underlying skin disorders like eczema can be particularly susceptible because their skin does not have the barrier that can prevent the absorption of large amounts of methanol.

“The skin is like a brick wall,” said Dr. Abigail Waldman, a dermatologist for Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. “You have these bricks that protect it and the hand sanitizer does such a good job that often it will create holes in that brick wall.”

She warned that regular use of hand sanitizer can actually help bacteria develop a resistance to it.

“The flora or the typical bacteria or viruses that you run into will develop resistance against whatever you’re using,” said Waldman.

Child Protection Director Charged with Child Endangerment After Officials Discovered What She Did with Over 200 Cases

The former director of a Pennsylvania county children and youth services office has been charged with multiple crimes after she allegedly manipulated her computer system in order to rid it of complaints of child neglect and abuse in order to ease her workload.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office said in a media release on Tuesday that Joanne Van Saun, 58, put children in danger through callous actions that endangered kids. The woman was for a time the director of the Luzerne County Children and Youth Services.

The attorney general’s office said that in 2017, Van Saun ordered her employees to “falsely terminate reports of child abuse and neglect, putting dozens of children in Luzerne County at risk.”

“Investigators learned that in May 2017, Joanne Van Saun, 58, director of the Luzerne County Children and Youth Services (LCCYS), directed employees to terminate at least 217 reports of child abuse and neglect received from the state ChildLine system.”

ChildLine is the state system for reporting cases of suspected child endangerment, abuse or neglect.

“These cases were part of a backlog that was initially reported by the press in May 2017. Luzerne County had 1,388 outstanding referrals, which accounted for seventy-five percent of the Commonwealth’s outstanding ChildLine referrals.”

“Under pressure from the reports of huge numbers of Childline reports in backlog status, Van Saun came up with a plan to eliminate the backlog without doing any investigation into whether any of the reports required further action to protect the children,” the state alleged in the media release.

Van Saun has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and obstruction in child abuse cases.

It is not clear when she resigned from her job, but former employees described her as being a bully and a tyrant, the Scioto County Daily News reported.

A criminal complaint against the woman said she and other senior-level employees at the Luzerne County Children and Youth Services tricked other employees into closing complaint cases in their computer system by asking them to label some abuse or neglect referrals as having been investigated.

Israel court deems 'racist' Nation-State Law constitutional

Israel's Supreme Court yesterday refused a host of petitions against the country's Nation-State Law, local media has reported.

Ten of the 11 judges favoured denying the petitions against the law, deeming it constitutional. Only the one Arab judge on the bench – Justice George Karra – objected.The Nation-State Law states that Israel does not belong to all its citizens, but is the "the Nation-State of the Jewish people".

The court was quoted in a statement as saying that the law provisions must be "interpreted in light of Israel's other basic law on human dignity and liberty and on freedom of occupation, which specifically address the dual character of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state."

The statement added that the Israeli basic laws, including the Nation-State Law, were designed "to consolidate Israel's Jewish character, and to not contravene the state's democratic character."

"This basic law is but one chapter in our constitution taking shape and it does not negate Israel's character as a democratic state," Esther Hayut, the court's president, wrote.However, Karra said sections of the law create "unconstitutional arrangements that negate the heart of the state's democratic identity and shake the very foundations of the constitutional structure."

Al Jazeera reported Adalah, a Palestinian rights group that tried to overturn the law, saying that the court upheld a law that "completely excludes those who do not belong to the majority group". It said it would "continue to work internationally to expose the discriminatory and racist nature of this law".

Japan Drops Charges Against 100 People Involved in Vote Buying

Media in Japan as well as some public figures criticized on Wednesday the decision by Japanese prosecutors not to charge 100 people involved in an electoral fraud scheme that landed former Justice Minister Katsuyuki Kawai in hot water.

Kawai tried to buy his wife, also a politician, a seat in the upper house of the legislature in 2019 and was sentenced in June to three years in prison and a fine equivalent to US$12,000. He had been found guilty of bribing 100 local political leaders and campaign supporters with a total of $260,000 to secure votes for Anri Kawai in the House of Councilors election. One of the 100 has since passed away from illness.

Kawai gave varying amounts of bribes to different people, apparently to align with the votes that the recipient could deliver, according to the June Tokyo District Court ruling. For a former legislative secretary from Hiroshima, Kawai gave $27,000. Forty local politicians received at least $900 each, and their staff at least $450.

Kawai, who had initially claimed innocence, pleaded guilty in March and resigned from his post in the legislature shortly after. His wife was sentenced to 16 months in prison, and had stepped down from her post in the House of Councilors in February.

The decision not to prosecute the recipients is highly unusual, especially since 94 of the 100 have acknowledged receiving the bribes. Under the Public Offices Election Act, bribe recipients can be charged even if they receive less than $90.

Yukio Hatoyama, a former Prime Minister, took to Twitter to express his concern about the outcome of the case.

“All the people who received cash from Mr. and Mrs. Katsuyuki Kawai were not charged,” he wrote. “From now on, if you say that you have received, no matter how much you have received, you will not be guilty. It's a de facto judicial transaction, but is this right?”

An editorial in Asahi Shimbun, a popular newspaper in Japan, said that prosecutors will “impose all responsibility on Mr. and Mrs. Kawai and wait for voters to forget? The trauma left by the incident is deep, and the path to regaining political confidence is far away.”

A special investigative unit in Tokyo’s Public Prosecutors Office suggested that the recipients had no malicious intent — and were instead forced to take the money.

In a Tuesday press conference, deputy chief prosecutor Hiroshi Yamamoto said that prosecutors considered whether to charge some of the local politicians who received large amounts of money from Kawai, but that it would be difficult to determine the exact amounts they received.

Yamamoto also stressed that none of the cash recipients ended up using the money.

CHILD PREDATORS ARRESTED IN SPECIAL OPERATION

On June 25th and 26th, 2021, Bakersfield Police Department officers began an operation designed to identify individuals soliciting juveniles online for sex and conducting sex registrant compliance checks. Bakersfield Police Department partnered with California State Parole, Kern County Probation, U.S. Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security, McFarland Police Department, Delano Police Department, and California City Police Department for a multi-agency task force.

During this operation, undercover detectives posing as a juvenile were contacted by several individuals engaging in inappropriate communication, and requesting to meet for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity. Detectives responded to the arranged meeting location and arrested the following individuals for unlawful communication with a minor, and solicitation of a minor for sex:

CANANDAIGUA POLICE CHARGE 5 OVER SOLICITATION OF MINORS

Canandaigua police arrested four people in the first week of July on charges related to their use of social media. The four arrests are unconnected, but are part of an ongoing “sting” which netted other suspects earlier this year for the same type of offense, manipulating minor girls to meet with them for sex by using social media. The minor the men were attempting to lure into a sexual encounter, identified online as a 14-year-old girl, but was in reality a police detective.

The most recently arrested men were Frank Garafalo, 56, of Canandaigua, who was arrested on Thursday, July 8, who was charged with attempted criminal sex act, and is facing other pending charges. Earlier in the week, thirty-eight-year-old Josh Maslyn of Canandaigua, and 61-year-old David Kepner of Bloomfield were charged separately with an attempted criminal sex act. Thirty-four year old Jeremy Worthington of Conesus was charged with attempting to lure a child..

In late June, Robert Schaefer, 56, of Canandaigua, was arrested by Canandaigua police and charged with attempting to lure a child a social media.

Toyota Blacklists Republicans Who Contested the 2020 Election. Now, Do Democrats.

In the wake of the Capitol riot, many corporate PACs announced that they would “pause” donations to Republican lawmakers who voted to contest the results of the 2020 election, suggesting that these lawmakers were in league with the rioters even though they loudly condemned the riot. A leftist mob has demanded the blacklisting of all Republicans who contested the election, as if Democrats had not contested the election 4 years before or suggested that there should be “uprisings all over the country” in 2020.

Toyota appeared to be one of the last bastions of sanity on the issue. The left-leaning Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) raised the alarm about Toyota because the company’s PAC had given $55,000 to 37 Republicans who objected to the certification of Electoral College results on January 6.

“We do not believe it is appropriate to judge members of Congress solely based on their votes on the electoral certification,” a Toyota spokesperson told Axios late last month.

Even then, Toyota claimed it had excluded some — likely Republican — members of congress because they had “undermined the legitimacy of elections.” “Based on our thorough review, we decided against giving to some members who, through their statements and actions, undermine the legitimacy of our elections and institutions,” the spokesperson added.

While the Capitol riot does leave a black mark on American history, Toyota’s measured approach makes far more sense than rote condemnations of the 147 Republican congressmen and senators who voted to contest the 2020 election results. Partially due to the extraordinary election procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic and partially due to the Left’s documented attempts to pull the levers behind the scenes, serious concerns about the 2020 election remain. The Republicans who voted to contest the election were not attempting to “overthrow” it, but to delay the certification of the Electoral College vote until all their concerns had been addressed.

Ironically, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) — one of the leaders of the 2021 impeachment of Donald Trump — himself voted to contest the 2016 election, joining many of his fellow Democrats in repeating baseless Russia collusion claims.

Yet many on the Left vociferously condemned Toyota’s measured decision. The Washington Post‘s Dana Milbank pledged that he will no longer buy another Toyota vehicle. “Toyota likes to say its cars are ‘made in America’ — while its actions are unmaking America,” he baselessly alleged.

The Lincoln Project launched an ad campaign, declaring, “We will also digitally blanket the top 20 Toyota dealerships in the country.”

On Thursday, Toyota appeared to cave on the issue. The company announced that its PAC would stop contributing to those eevil Republicans who did in 2021 what Democrats did in 2017.

“Our bipartisan PAC equally supports Democrats and Republicans running for Congress. In fact, in 2021, the vast majority of the contributions went to Democrats and Republicans who supported the certification of the 2020 election,” Toyota’s statement began.

“We understand that the PAC decision to support select Members of Congress who contested the results troubled some stakeholders. We are actively listening to our stakeholders and, at this time, we have decided to stop contributing to those Members of Congress who contested the certification of certain states in the 2020 election,” the statement concluded.

Toyota did not pledge to stop giving to all 147 Republicans in perpetuity, as the activists demand. (In fact, the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center has called for Congress to censure or expel every single Republican who contested the 2020 election results.) Instead, the company echoed other companies in pledging to pause contributions for now.

Even so, leftists are celebrating this cancel culture effort.

Mitt Romney sells $23.5M home after years of backlash from neighbors

The notorious San Diego home of Mitt Romney, which made headlines in 2012 for having planned an installation of a car elevator, is now in escrow for $23.5 million.

The move comes after years of enduring backlash from neighbors for tearing down and demolishing the initial oceanfront structure and building a new, bigger home.

Anthony Ciani, a La Jolla, California, architect and former neighbor of Romney at the time, told The Post that his issue was mostly concerning public use of the beach.

“Not all of the neighbors had issues with the Romneys’ project,” Ciani said, “but others, including me, disputed their claim to own the sandy beach west of the historic property line which could interfere with the historical public use of the beach, and because that uses that additional area of land to build a larger house than would otherwise comply with the development regulations.”

“I hope the new owners enjoy their new home and appreciate the public’s enjoyment of the beach and ocean and sunsets the new owners will have 365 days a year,” Ciani said.

But Ciani added that he no longer has hard feelings after Romney kept his promise to “dedicate the beach for public use.”

Five years ago, Ciani explained why the former Republican presidential candidate wanted to buy the home.

“He could have bought other nearby houses that were bigger and for less, and for less trouble sooner, and he didn’t do that,” Ciani told the San Diego Tribune in 2015. “Supposedly the story was that it was really important to him, so this is a contradiction to that, and a significant contradiction.”

Johnson & Johnson Agrees to Pay $263 Million in New York Opioid Settlement

Johnson & Johnson on Saturday, June 26, agreed to pay $263 million to resolve claims that it fueled an opioid epidemic in New York state and two of its largest counties.

The settlements removed the pharmaceutical company from a jury trial that started Tuesday, June 29, on Long Island, New York. Several big opioid makers and distributors are also defendants in the case.

Johnson & Johnson did not admit liability or wrongdoing in settling with New York state and with Nassau and Suffolk counties, but the $229.9 million settlement with the state also called for the company to stop selling the painkillers nationwide.

Johnson & Johnson fuels opioid epidemic

New York Attorney General Letitia James said in a statement that “the opioid epidemic has wreaked havoc” across the nation and that “Johnson & Johnson helped fuel this fire.” James said her focus remains “getting funds into communities devastated by opioids as quickly as possible.”

Johnson & Johnson said the settlements were consistent with its prior agreement to pay $5 billion to settle opioid claims by states, cities, counties and tribal governments nationwide. The company and the largest U.S. drug distributors – AmerisourceBergen Corp., Cardinal Health Inc. and McKesson Corp. – have proposed paying a combined $26 billion to end thousands of opioid lawsuits.

Tuesday’s opioids trial was one of several scheduled for this year, with others underway in California and West Virginia. Drugmakers AbbVie Inc. and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. and several distributors are among the defendants. Pharmacy chain Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. is also a defendant, though it was sued only by the counties. (Related: Kentucky sues WALGREENS for promoting opioid epidemic.)

Walmart Inc., Rite Aid Corp. and CVS Health Corp. were detached from the trial during jury selection. CVS reportedly settled with Nassau and Suffolk counties although terms of the settlement have not been disclosed.

Johnson & Johnson has also been appealing an Oklahoma judge’s 2019 ruling that the New Jersey-based company pay that state $465 million for its deceptive marketing of opioids. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said nearly 500,000 people died from opioid overdoses from 1999 to 2019.

Johnson & Johnson causes all sorts of health problems

The pharmaceutical giant knew for decades that its baby powder was tainted with carcinogenic asbestos and chose to keep that information from regulators and the public. A government-funded study from the mid-1990s found that Johnson’s baby powder caused cancer in rats and other studies have found an increased risk of cancer in women who used the company’s talc-based products.

In 2018, the company was ordered to pay $4.7 billion to thousands of victims who reportedly developed cancer from using Johnson & Johnson’s products. In that case, 22 women alleged the company’s talc-based products, including its baby powder, contained the known carcinogen, asbestos, which caused them to develop cancer. According to reports, there are over 9,000 similar talc lawsuits against the company.

These cases may have contributed to the hesitancy of many Americans to take the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine manufactured by Johnson & Johnson – one of the three COVID-19 vaccines to receive emergency use authorization (EUA) from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The other two were manufactured by Pfizer and Moderna.

Bill Gates Visits Sun Valley for Climate Change Lecture to Jet-Owning Billionaires

Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos have both reportedly been spotted at the annual “billionaire summer camp” held in Sun Valley, Idaho, this week. Non-scientist Gates is attending to give a lecture on climate change to the assembled Big Tech Masters of the Universe and media moguls. There have been so many private jets flying in and out of the elite event that the FAA has reportedly delayed incoming planes.

Business Insider reports that Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos were both spotted in Sun Valley, Idaho, on Thursday as billionaires from around the world flock to the annual conference hosted by the private investment bank Allen & Co. The event has been dubbed the “summer camp for billionaires,” and so many turned up in private jets this year that the FAA had to delay incoming planes.

Bill Gates is a regular attendee but his appearance this year is the first time he’s been at the conference since the announcement of his divorce from Melinda French Gates in May. This is also his first in-person appearance at a major event since the announcement and the first since a number of reports were published about Gates’ allegedly unsavory behavior.

Multiple reports characterized Gates as a womanizer and bully whose actions prompted an investigation by the Microsoft Board in 2019. In a report, Business Insider alleged that the public image many have of Bill Gates as an affable, nerdy, tech genius is actually part of a well-crafted PR campaign.

The real Gates reportedly pursues extramarital affairs with employees and acts as an office bully, according to former executives who spoke out anonymously. Business Insider reported:

Gates was known for swearing and berating underlings. “That’s the stupidest fucking idea I’ve ever heard” became a catchphrase for the CEO. He kept tabs on employees by memorizing their license plates. Gates tried to dilute Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen’s equity in the company because he was “unproductive” while dealing with his first bout of cancer, Allen wrote in his memoir.

The report also includes details of Gates’ various extramarital relationships including his annual vacation with an ex-girlfriend, the software entrepreneur Ann Winblad whom he would spend a long weekend together with every spring at Winblad’s beach cottage in North Carolina.

The Microsoft founder broke work and personal boundaries, too, The New York Times reported. Once, after attending a presentation given by a female Microsoft employee in 2006, he asked her out to dinner by email. “If this makes you uncomfortable, pretend it never happened,” Gates wrote in the email obtained by The Times.

On another occasion, Gates asked a Gates Foundation employee on a date while they were at a cocktail party in New York. “I want to see you. Will you have dinner with me?” he asked her in a low voice, the woman told The Times.

Conference sources have stated that Gates was due to give a speech about climate change at the event on Friday, whether that speech is still happening remains to be seen.

Kabul Calls on Russia, India, China to Help Fight Terrorism in Afghanistan

As the US-led coalition nears the September 11 deadline for its pull-out from Afghanistan, the Taliban has reportedly seized control of some 85% of territory within the country, according to a Friday statement issued by the militant group. The Taliban's issuance has been dismissed as propaganda by some.

Afghan National Security Adviser Hamdullah Mohib revealed on Friday that Afghanistan has tapped the militaries of Russia, China and India to request support for anti-terrorism operations.

Tom Cotton: Ethics Questions Surround China-Linked Hunter Biden Selling His Artwork

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said there are “tough” ethical questions that loom around Hunter Biden, who is “still investing in CCP [Chinese Communist Party]-linked firms,” as he is expected to sell his artwork for up to half a million dollars to “anonymous” buyers.

“Some very tough ethical questions about whether the president’s son, who is still investing in CCP-linked firms, should take $500,000 in payment (bribes) for his ‘artwork,'” Cotton said in reaction to reports of the White House crafting a plan to address mounting ethics questions surrounding Hunter Biden’s art venture.

“Better consult the experts on this one!” the Arkansas senator added:

His remarks follow reports of the White House working on a plan to address ethical concerns over Hunter Biden’s art sales, particularly in light of the lingering accusations of members of the Biden family, including Hunter himself, cashing in on their family name over the years. Notably, money laundering has already been identified by lawmakers as a major issue in the art world, which is largely cloaked in secrecy, as a bipartisan Senate investigation detailed last year.

“Secrecy, anonymity, and a lack of regulation create an environment ripe for laundering money and evading sanctions,” the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations report found.

Hunter Biden is working with Soho art dealer Georges Bergès, who has links to China himself. Bergès is holding an art exhibition in the fall, where Hunter’s art is expected to sell anywhere from $75,000-$500,000. The entire venture has prompted ethics concerns, particularly given Hunter’s past work as his father served as vice president — striking deals with Chinese officials and raking in tens of thousands of dollars per month serving on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian oligarch-owned oil and gas company, despite having no experience in the energy sector. His father would later brag about threatening to withhold aid from Ukraine unless officials fired the prosecutor conducting a corruption investigation into Burisma.

But instead of making the transactions more transparent and open, the White House is hoping to strike a deal to make buyers of Hunter Biden’s artwork, which is expected to sell for up to half a million dollars, anonymous.

Accoridng to Bloomberg, Goldman Sachs banker Michael Daffey just obtained a $30.6MM loan from Citigroup to buy one of the most infamous pieces of real estate in the US: the Manhattan townhouse formerly owned by Jeffrey Epstein. Daffey, who was recently named chairman of crypto investment bank Galaxy Digital (run by his old friend and former Goldman colleague Mike Novogratz), received the 30-year mega-mortgage back in May, two months after he bought the townhouse located at East 71st Street. He got the mortgage a few months after he purchased the townhouse for a deeply discounted $51MM (the property was marked down 40% from its original asking price of $88MM).

Pentagon Offered National Guard Troops 2 Days Before Jan. 6, Former Chief Of Staff Confirms

The Pentagon offered National Guard troops two days before the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol building, but that proposal was rejected, former chief of staff Kash Patel has confirmed.

In an episode of EpochTV’s “Kash’s Corner,” Patel, who served as chief of staff to the Acting United States Secretary of Defense under former President Donald Trump, explained why the Capitol breach could have been prevented.

Patel, who also served as a government official in the United States National Security Council and the United States House of Representatives, said that he believes that the offer from the Trump administration was blocked for “political reasons.”

“You have to ask yourself, what happened on Jan. 6? I was chief of staff on the Department of Defense on Jan. 6,” said Patel. “We had offered the Capitol Police and Mayor Bowser of Washington D.C. thousands of National Guardsmen and women two days before Jan. 6, and they turned us down. So it could have been prevented.”

The breach took place during a joint session of Congress when lawmakers met to certify electoral votes submitted by states. The Capitol grounds and building were breached by protestors and some rioters, some of whom wanted to voice their stance against then-Vice President Mike Pence’s refusal to intervene in the certification process. Thousands of peaceful protesters remained outside.

Biden Sending FBI, DHS To Haiti After President Assassinated

Update (1427ET): Many unanswered questions are swirling around the two American assassins, part of a team of 26 heavily armed Colombians who stormed Haitian President Jovenel Moise's private residence Wednesday and shot him dead, also critically injuring his wife.

Reuters says U.S. law enforcement and intelligence agencies are investigating James Solages, 35, and Joseph Vincent, 55. Both are from South Florida and were arrested by the Haitian National Police Thursday in connection with the president's slaying.

Two law enforcement sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters an "active investigation" is open on Solages and Vincent, and their roles in the killing. The sources said U.S. agencies have yet to assist Haitian police because officials have not requested help.

But in a new update via CNN, it appears the U.S. is sending officials to Haiti at that the request of the Caribbean government.

"The U.S. remains engaged," White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters, adding that senior FBI and Department of Homeland Security officials will be arriving shortly in the country's capital of Port Au Prince. She said the agents would evaluate the situation and provide assistance.

One of the most critical questions investigators should be asking is what motivated the two Americans to commit such a heinous act on foreign soil.

Reuters points out Solages described himself as a "certified diplomatic agent" and the former "chief commander of bodyguards" for the Canadian embassy in Haiti.

Florida records show Solages has security officer and firearm licenses. He also runs a company called FWA SA A JACMEL AVAN INC, which defines itself as a charity supporting impoverished children in Haiti.

Out of the two dozen Colombians, 17 of them were ex-soldiers, police say.

So what motived the two Americans and more than two dozen Colombians to perform such a brazen assassination of the Haitian president? Was it money?

Taliban Boasts It's Already Taken 85% Of Afghanistan Day After Biden Declared "US Objectives Achieved"

The Taliban on Friday says it's now taken control of a whopping 85% of all territory in Afghanistan, however, this excludes the capital of Kabul and other high-population dense areas.

Reuters is already citing "international concern" which has "mounted over problems getting medicines and supplies into the country" as the terror group which American forces have spent 20 years fighting is poised to take back the whole central Asian nation again for the first time since 2001.

But the national US-backed government in Kabul is dismissing the latest Taliban statement as "propaganda" aimed at Western retreating forces. It was only yesterday that Biden hailed to completion of US objectives in the war-torn country which the US invaded quickly after the 9/11 terror attacks.

Propaganda or not, it's certainly not looking good given even US intelligence estimates recently projected some six months before Kabul could fall. Many military analysts chimed in to say six months is far too optimistic an assessment. Consider too the rapid advances just this week, as Reuters details of a mere few of the latest examples:

The Taliban "emboldened by the withdrawal, had captured an important district in Herat province, home to tens of thousands of minority Shi’ite Hazaras."

"Torghundi, a northern town on the border with Turkmenistan, had also been captured by the Taliban overnight, Afghan and Taliban officials said."

"Hundreds of Afghan security personnel and refugees continued to flee across the border into neighboring Iran and Tajikistan, causing concern in Moscow and other foreign capitals."

The humanitarian situation looks to grow worse by the day as the WHO has recently estimated more than 18 million Afghan civilians are in dire need of assistance, including over three million children who could suffer acute malnutrition.

On Friday the Pentagon's reaction to the Taliban claim of 85% of territory taken strongly suggested the Taliban might not be exaggerating after all…

Asked about how much territory the Taliban held, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby declined direct comment.

"Claiming territory or claiming ground doesn't mean you can sustain that or keep it over time" he said in an interview with CNN. "And so I think it's really time for the Afghan forces to get into the field - and they are in the field - and to defend their country, their people."

As we detailed earlier, the consistent pattern has witnessed Afghan military personnel abandoning their posts in droves amid the advancing Taliban, also as they saw their American trainers and allies sneak off "in the middle of the night" - as they did at Bagram days ago.
