UAE to Open Embassy in Israel on Wednesday as Historic Rapprochement Taking Place

The Israeli diplomatic mission has been operating in the United Arab Emirates since January, when the first Israeli diplomat arrived in the Emirati capital after a US-brokered normalization deal in September.

The UAE is set to open its embassy in Israel on Wednesday, with Israeli president Isaac Herzog to be present at the event, The Times of Israel reported on Sunday.

Israel already opened its embassy in the Emirati capital, and in late June, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid inaugurated the Consulate General in Dubai. Lapid touted rapprochement as a "historic moment" and a time when "we chose peace over war."

In September last year, long-term efforts of the Trump administration to enhance Israel's position in the region and unite Gilf states against its "arch enemy" Iran resulted in the historic normalization deal, officially known as the Abraham Accords. By signing the agreements, the UAE and Bahrain agreed to establish diplomatic ties with the Jewish state.

Later, Morocco and Sudan followed suit and agreed to normalize ties with Israel.

UAE officials have said that the rapprochement with Israel was motivated purely by the desire to prevent "annexation", referring to former Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu's plans of expanding annexations in the West Bank.

In return for the deal, the Trump administration promised to sell F-35 fighter jets to the UAE, but the sale was put on hold by the new administration of Joe Biden. The former Israeli leader Netanyahu reportedly sought to block the sale of the jets.

While the UAE and Bahrain have underscored that restoring ties with Israel will in no way affect their commitment to the Palestinian cause, just weeks after the Gulf states signed the Abraham Accords, they significantly cut funding for the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.

Normalization with Israel by states who had vowed support for Palestinians for decades was met with harsh criticism from the Palestinian authorities.

New York Hydro Power Plant Mines Bitcoin Because More Profitable Than Selling Electricity To Grid

This year, some of the hottest trends in the crypto industry have been bitcoin adoption and environmental, social, and governance factors into crypto mining.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk pushed bitcoin's environmental concerns into the forefront, calling for "renewable energy" to be used for mining instead of fossil fuels. It's no secret that bitcoin mining takes a massive amount of electricity. It's estimated that energy consumption exceeds the power consumption of countries like the Netherlands and the UAE.

With the push towards ESG-Friendly bitcoin mining operations, there's one historic hydroelectric plant near Albany, New York, using power generated from its massive water turbines to mine crypto.

"We think this is the oldest renewable energy facility in the world that's still running," Albany Engineering Corp. CEO Jim Besha told the Times Union.

He said the plant "could actually make more money with bitcoin than selling the electricity to National Grid.

Albany Engineering Corp. receives around 3 cents per kilowatt-hour when it sells energy to National Grid. Mining bitcoin makes about three times the amount of money, Besha said.

The only issue Besha has to worry about is a bill that would ban cryptocurrency mining in New York.

The FBI on Sunday encouraged Americans to snitch on their own family members and friends.

“Family members and peers are often best positioned to witness signs of mobilization to violence. Help prevent homegrown violent extremism. Visit https://go.usa.gov/x6mjf to learn how to spot suspicious behaviors and report them to the #FBI.” the FBI said Sunday.

The FBI outlined suspicious behaviors to watch out for in a 32-page bulletin.

Although the FBI (surprisingly) focused on Islamic terrorism, they described behaviors by other “homegrown extremists” to watch out for.

Based on the FBI’s treatment of Trump supporters who attended the January 6 Capitol protest, it is clear that the feds are also encouraging people to snitch on conservative family members.

For example, the FBI views “retweeting or linking to violent extremists” as suspicious behavior.

Violent extremists = QAnon followers and MAGA grandmas

Most of the behaviors listed below perfectly describe BLM and Antifa terrorists, however, the FBI totally ignores their terrorism and focuses only on MAGA grandmothers.
