Bay of pigs 2021 (new twist)

https://thegrio.com/2021/07/13/cubans-miami-boating-protests/

The United States Coast Guard in Miami is monitoring any activity aimed at increasing “unsafe and illegal” crossings between Florida and Cuba in response to rare street protests on the island.

Rear Adm. Eric C. Jones issued a warning statement Monday night as groups of Cuban immigrants said they planned to travel in boats filled with supplies to Cuba to show support for the Cuban protesters. South Florida has the country’s largest population of Cuban Americans.

In Miami, Cuban social media personalities posted Monday that they would make the 10-hour boat ride to Cuba to show support after rare street protests broke out over the weekend, the Miami Herald reported.

The influencers said they would bring aid — and guns — and urged people in Miami to offer up their boats.

The Task Force found that the Department can glean the most opportunity in three technology

areas: quantum sensing, quantum computing, and quantum communications (empowered by

entanglement distribution). Quantum sensing applications are currently poised for mission use whereas

quantum computing and communications are in earlier stages of development. Applications in each of

these technology areas could offer critical value to DoD and must be pursued vigorously.

Where the most persistent differentiation may be found, however, is in the technology that

spans the breadth of quantum technology applications – the enabling components. Reliable, wellcharacterized, trusted, and well-manufactured components, coupled with practiced integration, may be

the biggest factor in achieving quantum superiority and competitive advantage. This is crucial if the

United States is to maintain its edge in a race in which its competitors are already nipping at its heels.

Quantum sensors have been demonstrated to outperform current sensors and offer the potential

for dramatically improved performance for critical DoD missions, including: maintaining timing

and positioning accuracy in Global Positioning System (GPS)-challenged or GPS-denied

environments; enabling magnetometry for maritime security; using gravimeters to detect the

location of underground structures and special nuclear material; position updates via gravity

mapping to bound inertial system errors for long-term submarine navigation; and strategic-grade

inertial navigation systems (INS) relying on precision gravity maps to correct for local gravity

perturbations.

And the riots are set to begin

https://www.peoplesworld.org/article/poor-peoples-campaign-launches-civil-disobedience-actions-for-voting-rights/

WASHINGTON—Stepping up its drive to force Congress, and in particular the 50-50 Senate, to pass voting rights legislation, the Poor People’s Campaign announced July 12 it will launch a month of Moral Mondays, featuring peaceful civil disobedience in D.C. and state capitals, through August 2.

The announcement was almost immediately followed by news that Texas Democratic lawmakers were fleeing their state and were on their way to Washington D.C. to press the Congress and the president to pass voting rights legislation that would override the voter repression laws the GOP is trying to ram through in their state and in other states around the country. By fleeing Texas they are preventing the quorum Texas law requires to pass the legislation.

Preservation and expansion of voting rights will be at the top of the Poor Peoples Campaign’s agenda this month. That’s particularly timely.

President Biden is joining what has become a national uprising against voter repression today when he will give a major speech in Philadelphia, often considered the birthplace of democracy in America. Biden assured leaders of civil rights groups last week that he would make preserving democracy a top cause.

The Poor People’s Campaign’s “Season of Non-Violent Moral Action” began with a mass call-in before, during and after the July 12 press conference called by the group. It continues with a demonstration led by women in D.C. on July 19—the anniversary of the first women’s rights convention, in Seneca Falls, N.Y.

Patriots taking their country back. Somebody poked the bear

But despite, or perhaps because of, his political outlook, Makula — who did not respond to Truthout’s request for an interview — won the April election and now holds a seat on the library board; two other fiscal conservatives were also elected.

“Fewer than 2,000 people out of more than 57,000 who were eligible to vote, voted to fill four open slots,” Lynch told Truthout. “It was the lowest turnout ever. In addition to Makula and the other two, there was another conservative already on the board, so this gave them a four to three majority.”

Since their swearing in on May 19, the new board has wasted no time in imposing its agenda. “Their focus is to change the very nature of the library,” Lynch says. “They’ve already slashed the budget from $7.4 to $5.9 million, fired staff or reduced their hours, gone from being open 70 hours a week to being open 54, and eliminated outreach to schools and nursing homes.” In addition, she says, longtime library director Susan Dove Lempke felt she had to resign from her position after clashing with Makula and the other conservatives over the cutbacks.

The Niles-Maine Public Library is not the only program facing draconian cutbacks or a right-wing takeover. In fact, in places ranging from Kootenai County, Idaho, to Ann Arundel County, Maryland, to Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, to the town of Frisco, Texas, local efforts are underway to limit what libraries offer — especially when it comes to promoting racial equity and gender inclusivity.

Former Trump-appointed Social Security Administration commissioner Andrew Saul, who’s been stubbornly clutching onto his post after President Joe Biden axed him last week, hit a snag in his gambit on Monday.

Saul attempted to log into work from his home on Monday – only to reportedly discover he’d been blocked from the agency’s computer systems.

“I’m here to do the job, but I can’t do anything with the communications shut down,” he complained to the Washington Post.

However, the former official indicated that he wasn’t giving up the fight.

“Stay tuned,” he said
