CNN’s Gergen: ‘Crazy’ Trump Is ‘More Dangerous’ Than Nixon — He ‘Could Bring the Whole System Down’

CNN network contributor David Gergen said Tuesday on CNN’s “Situation Room” that former President Donald Trump was crazy and therefore more dangerous than former President Richard Nixon.

Discussing two new books about Trump’s last days in office, anchor Wolf Blitzer said, “David Gergen, you had a unique experience and experiencing witnessing the end of Nixon administration up close. You were even written about in Woodward and Bernstein’s book ‘The Final Days.’ So what similarities — do you see similarities in what you saw then and now these new accounts.”

Gergen said, “There certainly seem to be some similarities and parallels, Wolf. In the last few days, I keep thinking about the final days of the Nixon administration and these parallels.”

He continued, “The fact was that what we worried about with Trump was that he was crazy, and he’s still crazy, and he was unhinged, and you know he could bring the whole system down. And he has all these authoritarian tendencies. Richard Nixon, by contrast, actually respected the Constitution. When the Supreme Court came down with its decision, he had to turn over the tapes – the tapes of his conversations that he knew would sink him – he said, ‘turn over the tapes,’ and then he was booted out of office. So I think you have to put Trump in a different camp, in a more dangerous camp than Nixon.”

Minnesota State Rep. Accused Officer of Racial Profiling, Police Chief Releases Video and Demands Apology

MINNESOTA – St. Paul Police Chief Todd Axtell is asking for an apology after Minnesota state Rep. John Thompson alleged he was profiled for being black by a police officer.

“On Sunday, July 4, one of our sergeants working a traffic safety detail stopped a state representative for driving without a front license plate on his vehicle, which is unlawful in the state of Minnesota,” Axtell wrote on Facebook.

“Two days later I was shocked to hear that driver accuse the sergeant of making the stop based on race. These aren’t accusations I take lightly, so I looked into the traffic stop, watched the body worn camera footage and spoke to the sergeant. This stop, made at about 1:20 in the morning, had absolutely nothing to do with the driver’s race.”

“What it did involve was a public servant doing what the community asks of him. He was working a Toward Zero Deaths (TZD) traffic safety detail, which is a grant-funded initiative administered by the State of Minnesota. One of its goals is to ensure compliance with traffic laws. Simply put, the traffic stop was by the books. What happened afterwards was anything but.”

‘I’m dismayed and disappointed by the state representative’s response to the stop. Rather than taking responsibility for his own decisions and actions, he attempted to deflect, cast aspersions and deny any wrongdoing.”

“At the Saint Paul Police Department, we work hard to be fair, to treat everyone with respect and to lead by example. We also take responsibility for our actions. When we make mistakes, we own them and try to fix them. It’s what our community expects of its public servants. The driver, an elected official who does not dispute driving without a front license plate, owes our sergeant an apology.”

Sebelius: Unvaccinated Americans Should Not Be Allowed to Work, Have Access to Children

Former Obama administration Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said Tuesday on CNN’s “OutFront” that Americans who have not received a coronavirus vaccine should not be allowed to work or have access to children and be limited on where they are allowed to go.

Sebelius said, “We’re in a situation where we have a wildly effective vaccine, multiple choices, lots available, free of charge, and we have folks who are just saying I won’t do it. I think that it’s time to say to those folks, it’s fine if you don’t choose to get vaccinated. You may not come to work. You may not have access to a situation where you’re going to put my grandchildren in jeopardy. Where you might kill them, or you might put them in a situation where they’re going to carry the virus to someone in a high-risk position.”

She continued, “That’s, I think the point where we are, is freedom is one thing, but freedom when you harm others like secondhand smoke and issues that we’ve dealt with very clearly in the past you can’t drive drunk. You can drink, but you can’t drive drunk because you can injure other people. You can’t smoke inside of a public place where you can give cancer to someone else in spite of their never having been a smoker.”

Sebelius added, “So I think we’re reaching that point in the United States where those of us who are vaccinated, I want to take off my mask. I want to be able to live my life with vaccination, and right now, I’m being impinged on by people who say I don’t want to get vaccinated. It’s fine. I want them to maybe have a limitation on where they can go and who they can possibly infect.”

Report: Kushner Family ‘Cozying Up’ to Nikki Haley with Private Luncheons

Jared Kushner’s family, the in-laws of former President Trump’s oldest daughter Ivanka Trump, are reportedly “cozying up” to former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley ahead of the 2024 Republican presidential primary race.

A report by Vanity Fair‘s Gabriel Sherman reveals that Jared Kushner’s parents, Charles and Seryl Kushner, hosted a private luncheon days ago at their Jersey Shore beach house so a close group of friends could meet Haley.

“According to two sources briefed on the event, Jared Kushner’s parents invited about 20 friends to meet former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley at the Kushners’ beach house on the Jersey Shore,” Sherman reported:

The Kushners’ chef prepared a meal of salad and salmon. At the event, Jared’s father Charles Kushner predicted that Haley would be “the first woman president,” one of the sources said. Some attendees made donations to Haley’s Stand for America PAC. (Charles Kushner did not respond to requests for comment). [Emphasis added]

Haley has made no secret of her 2024 ambitions. During a speech in New Jersey on Sunday night, Haley said she has “a big decision to make at the beginning of ‘23.” (A spokesperson for Haley did not respond to a request for comment). [Emphasis added]

If she runs, as many suspect, it will force Jared and Ivanka to choose between Trump family loyalty and one of their closest political allies (When she left the administration, Haley infamously described Jared as “a hidden genius”). Jared and Ivanka were in Aspen over the weekend and didn’t attend Charles Kushner’s lunch, a person close to Jared said. But last month, the couple was spotted visiting Haley and her husband, Michael Haley, at the Kiawah Island beach club in South Carolina. “They think very highly of Nikki. They get along great,” the person said. [Emphasis added]

While in the Trump administration, Haley was considered a close ally of Jared Kushner, whom she famously called “a hidden genius.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Jared and Ivanka,” Haley said in October 2018. “Jared is such a hidden genius that no one understands.”

In April, reports circulated that Haley is considering Miami, Florida, Mayor Francis Suarez as her running mate for a 2024 Republican presidential primary bid. Suarez voted for Democrat Andrew Gillum against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in 2018, attacked DeSantis last year for throwing out mask mandates, and in 2018 joined Mayors Bill de Blasio of New York City and Eric Garcetti of Los Angeles to blast Trump’s “America First” immigration agenda.

Haley has consistently polled low among conservative voters.

The most recent straw poll from CPAC Dallas of the 2024 Republican presidential primary revealed that one percent of attendees said Haley ought to be the GOP nominee if Trump does not run again. This is the same amount of attendees who said Ivanka Trump, Mike Pence, and Marco Rubio should be the nominee.

Nearly 7-in-10 attendees said DeSantis should be the GOP nominee in 2024.

Likewise, at CPAC in February, just three percent of attendees — when Trump was excluded from the poll — said Haley should be the GOP nominee. About 43 percent of attendees said DeSantis should be the nominee.

Chris Sky storms out of interview with David Menzies

It’s been a wild few months for Chris Sky, a.k.a., Chris Saccoccia, one of the most flamboyant personalities associated with the anti-lockdown movement.

In May, the Toronto Police Service announced they were charging Sky with five criminal charges, including three counts of uttering death threats; a charge of assaulting a police officer, and a charge of dangerous operation of a conveyance (the allegation being that Sky tried to injure a police officer with his vehicle).

None of these allegations have been proven in court and Sky vehemently denies them.

In this interview, Sky and I discuss his relationship with Rob Carbone, the leader of something called the Republican Party of Canada. At one point, these two were very close; indeed, Carbone said he was actually planning on adopting Sky as his son, and pledged to make Sky the Minister of Finance in the highly improbable scenario of his Republican Party winning the next federal election.

But these days, the bloom is off that rose, for it was Carbone that made the complaint to authorities that Sky had allegedly said he was going to assassinate Premier Ford and other leaders.

We also discussed what happened during the second annual Dominion Day Rally in Ottawa on July 1. It seemed that there were some organizers that did not want Sky to speak to the crowd that had gathered on the lawns of the Supreme Court of Canada.

Are there now serious factions within the anti-lockdown movement? Are egos getting in the way of what should be a common goal — namely, ending the lockdowns?

Also up for discussion: old social media postings that have led to accusations that Sky is a Holocaust denier. In one post,Sky stated:

6 million Jews were murdered is the biggest lie created in the history of fake Jew history.

Sky’s critics have also accused him of being anti-black, anti-gay, and anti-Muslim, based on other social media posts from years ago.

Alas, at this point in the interview, Sky stormed out of the studio.

Which is unfortunate, but we harbour no grudges: if Sky would like to come back and finish our interview, he is more than welcome to do so.

California reverses policy that maskless children be banned from entering public schools, ending mandate hours after it began

California's state health authorities are apparently backing down from an order directing K-12 public schools to bar students and faculty who decline to wear masks from their classrooms.

Just hours after announcing the new policy on Monday, the California Department of Public Health issued an "update," saying, "California's school guidance will be clarified regarding masking enforcement, recognizing local schools' experience in keeping students and educators safe while ensuring schools fully reopen for in-person instruction."

UPDATE: California’s school guidance will be clarified regarding masking enforcement, recognizing local schools’ experience in keeping students and educators safe while ensuring schools fully reopen for in-person instruction.

— CA Public Health (@CAPublicHealth) July 13, 2021

The Los Angeles Times reported, citing a spokesman for California Gov. Gavin Newsom, that the directive to exclude students who refuse to wear masks will be removed from the policy, allowing local districts to decide how to enforce their Covid-19 precautions. Masks are still mandated indoors.

Monday's controversial order for the upcoming school year was to be enforced regardless of whether the recalcitrant student or teacher has been vaccinated against the virus. In the initial version of the state guidance, children were to be offered off-campus educational opportunities if they refused to obey the mask rule.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced updated guidance last Friday advising that students and school employees who are fully vaccinated don't need to wear masks. The US Food and Drug Administration granted emergency authorization in May for the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine to be administered to children as young as 12.

Dozens of US states have no mask mandate for public schools, and eight have prohibited local districts from imposing such orders, according to Burbio.com, which tracks school reopenings and pandemic policies. California is among nine states that have mask requirements for all students, while three others apply their mandates only to unvaccinated individuals.

os Angeles schools are scheduled to fully reopen for the first time in the fall, after the local teachers union resisted efforts by district officials to resume in-person classes for months. Four families sued United Teachers Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Unified School District earlier this year, alleging that they had failed their duty to serve the interests of students by depriving them of in-person learning.

ARIZONA AUDIT: Discrepancies Found – Ballot Totals Do Not Match – More Results Expected WITHIN 48 HOURS

The Arizona audit continued on Tuesday with new ballot-counting machines and new equipment to prepare the ballots to be counted.

The Gateway Pundit reported that the new machines were moved onsight in order to guarantee 100% accuracy in the ballot totals.

Earlier, Karen Fann stated that the total number of ballots does not match the certified number of ballots. This additional recount is to confirm that this is accurate.

The new machines are still in the calibration phase to ensure that they are working correctly.

New paper jogger equipment that aligns and prepares stacks of ballots to be counted has been delivered to the Wesley Bolin Building.

In the video below, an audit official is seen testing the machines and using the paper jogger to prepare ballots.

Within a matter of seconds, a stack of ballots can be counted using these paper counting machines.

Audit Spokesman Randy Pullen told The Gateway Pundit that these machines were capable of counting up to 600 ballots at once!

These machines will be in use officially counting ballots on Wednesday.

Why would they still be counting if they were not finding HUGE, election-changing discrepancies?

They are preparing for the most consequential litigation in world history.

The ballot totals do not match and we will be 100% sure of the discrepancy total once the report is released.

January 6 inmates endure ‘human rights violations on a daily basis,’ bail motion alleges

D.C. Jail effectively bans attorney-client privilege for January 6 defendants, claim lawyers for accused Capitol rioter.

If the late Jeffrey Epstein's alleged partner in sex trafficking can be granted a laptop 13 hours a day to actively participate in her defense, why not January 6 defendants?

The jailhouse accommodation for Ghislaine Maxwell is the most prominent example cited in a bail application for alleged Capitol rioter Dominic Pezzola, submitted to D.C. federal court Friday.

The 43-year-old veteran, now incarcerated in D.C. jail for 150 days, has been effectively shut out of his own defense in violation of constitutional guarantees specifically for defendants, not just their counsel, the filing says.

Not only is Pezzola unable to "adequately" view the voluminous text, audio and video evidence held by the prosecution, but like all other January 6 defendants housed a short drive from the U.S. Capitol, his right to attorney-client privilege is functionally meaningless, his lawyers Marty Tankleff and Steven Metcalf argue.

They raised similar objections about lack of privacy and access to evidence to Just the News two months ago, following brief outrage from Democratic and Republican lawmakers about Department of Corrections policies for January 6 defendants and other D.C. jail inmates.

Pezzola has "literally been in his cell for 22 or 23 hours a day," the filing says. "It is impossible to have a free-flowing conversation" with their client in these "open cages where there is no confidentiality [and] everyone can hear the conversations[,] including prison guards."

D.C. jail evidence-review policies also have "the potential to invade attorney-client privilege" and the practical effect of punishing inmates, by putting them in "restrictive housing" for two weeks at a time to privately review CDs and DVDs of evidence on jail-provided laptops.

The lawyers suggested they will seek a new trial or dismissal if these conditions aren't reversed, citing legal precedents that punish a prosecution for "knowingly arrang[ing] or permit[ing] intrusion into the attorney-client relationship."
