Response to PF in LB/PB about Cuban migrant vessel traffic

1st cap - NAS Key West OpArea

As you can see, the ship tracking sites show only some of the surface traffic in the area. The AIS ship tracking system generally does not cover a bunch of small craft.

2nd cap- Santiago Cuba port area

This cap gives a good example of minimal info available out of Cuba, in terms of shipping. I suspect that most of the migrant vessels won't show up in AIS.

A good intel-gathering approach under these circumstances would be to look for a number of vessels rendezvous-ing at one location, obviously especially USCG. That's gonna require a lot of "loitering" to keep eyes-on at one location.

It's too much for one guy to do, at least in my case. Sorry, PF. Best I have for now. Hopefully another BF has a better analytical approach, because I'm stymied on this one.
