Why even answer the door? I am licensed to carry concealed in one of the bluest states in the country. I work from home with lawful weapons at the ready. It's summer so my door is open to the porch during the day while I work at my desk. Depending on where I'm sitting and working, it's possible that someone knocking would see me sitting there. They would see my back and the dogs would go bananas. The uninvited visitor would not see my weapons, of course, but the weapons are always only inches from my hands. If someone knocks I will ignore them. If they speak to me through a screen I will ignore them. As the group of dogs barks at them I will ignore them. If they enter the house I will be in fear for my life, facing imminent death or great bodily injury, so I will defend myself with lethal force in self defense.
