RE: Election machines connected to the internet

This will likely get lost in the noise, but just want to alert Anons to the many deceptions of election machines and the internet.

Contrary to popular opinion, connecting election machines to the internet is actually a GOOD idea. Our current incarnation of election machines is not good to connect to the internet, but the end-state ideal election machine is 100% connected to the internet.

Think about it - which one is more secure? An election that is audited once, at the end, when all the votes have been tallied and "sealed" and any amount of professional fuckery has already happened - OR - and election that is CONTINUOUSLY audited by a multitude of parties (even you!) and where discrepancies or "suspicious" events can be called out and pinpointed in near real time?

Obviously the latter.

CA recently made a law saying that election machines can never be connected to the internet, which made me do a double take because CA never fucking does anything that's in the interest of the people, so obviously this was bad. Had to think about it for a while, but I think they're just trying to prevent elections from ever being good.

LMAO

I mean yes of course. Did I say that? I may have forgotten to say that.

Not exactly as you said it, but yea the current incarnation of machines are absolutely dog shit and should not be connected to the internet, but the "ideal world" ones should be.

The part I think I left out: Obviously lots of design and engineering considerations for "ideal world" machines, but still internet connection is key.

Not using windows is 100% a part of it

(Holy shit they run on windows????)

Also fun fact: the US Navy is the #1 deployer of Red Hat.
