Why military sedition as an issue is important. General Milley’s role is Principal Military Advisor to the President, Secretary of Defense and National Security Council. He has no command authority. Combatant Commanders (4 stars) report to the Civilian Secretary of Defense.
Military Service Chiefs (4 stars) like Army report to Senate confirmed Civilian Secretaries. No one in the Military Services or a Combatant Command report to Milley. For him to, apparently, try and influence any decision making is a usurpation of Civilian control of the military
It is “banana republic” kind of leadership and is cause for censure and dismissal. This should matter regardless of political affiliation. It is wrong.
