Those who cop watch have suspected subversion in our police forces.
Called gangs even. They back each other up.
They break laws.
This video is reporting that one gang got caught.
This is not anti police. This is anti-criminal police.
"All I did was raise my phone and point it at them
and they scattered."
Cameras are powerful when hunting criminals.
A First Amendment audit
is more like fishing.
If a public official tries to enforce laws that aren't really laws
such as making up some rule
in order to harass you
that person needs to be taught the real laws.
For some, sitting in ANY official capacity
is just too much of a temptation.
Whether it is a cop or a receptionist or a city councilman
they need to be watched…
for their own good
while they are on the clock working.
Doing First Amendment Audits requires some training.
You need to know the basics of the rights that you have
under the laws of the United States of America.
Then you put officials to the test. Do they know your rights, too?
Then film them in action.
This is a good learning opportunity for officials.
One auditor calls it a "free education" in citizen rights.
Some auditors take mistreatment to court.
So everybody gets to learn. It is public.
You have the right to photograph anything you see from a public space.
