Kamala Harris will not be tested for COVID-19 or quarantine, her spokesperson said Saturday, even though she met on Tuesday with at least two Texas Democratic lawmakers who tested positive for the virus.
'On Tuesday, July 13th, Vice President Harris met with members of the Texas state legislature who are temporarily in Washington, D.C. Earlier today, it was brought to our attention that two of the members at that meeting tested positive for COVID-19,' the vice president's chief spokesperson Symone Sanders said in a statement Saturday evening.
'Based on the timeline of these positive tests,' Sanders continued, 'it was determined the Vice President and her staff present at the meeting were not at risk of exposure because they were not in close contact with those who tested positive and therefore do not need to be tested or quarantined.

Until then, she would be the power behind the throne. At this stage of Biden’s presidency, that has been revealed as fantasy. The real woman with power in the White House is not Kamala Harris, but Jill Biden. Many of Joe Biden’s signature proposals have long been priorities of his wife. It is hard not to see her influence in two free years of preschool and two free years of community college, and supports for women to return to the workforce. What- what we are seeing here, though, is an ecosystem of information purveyors. Some of this is politically motivated. Some of it is the anti-vax community. Some of it is profiteering. And I tend to believe that there's a lot of that going on here.–
JOHN DICKRSON: Profiteering, people selling–
KREBS: Yeah. And there was a- there was a Washington Post piece the other day about the FTC, a former FTC commissioner, Terrell McSweeny, that asked the FTC to investigate some of this, some of the profiteering off of the pandemic. And I think that is an incredibly important development in how we're going to move beyond not just the pandemic related disinformation, but also some of the election related disinformation.
KREBS: Unfortunately, both can be true at the same time. So, yes, Facebook and other social media platforms can provide helpful information on the facts behind the vaccine. And the same thing happened in the elections last year. They had a banner and a trust page. But at the same time, there are those that can use those platforms for their own benefits to continue to push disinformation. Now, what has happened over the last several months is that some of those that the- the Dirty Dozen or whatever they're calling it, some of those have been de platformed. But the problem is particularly for vaccine disinformation, it is metastasized and it is now, you mentioned it earlier about the top down and the bottom up, the grassroots piece. It is now so pervasive that it exists just naturally within the ecosystem on Facebook and elsewhere. And that's where we need the platform to be more transparent in how their algorithms work, how engagement works, so that outside security experts and researchers can dig in and hold them accountable, that us as consumers of these platforms can hold them accountable and demand better

The mainland has strategic dominance in the Taiwan Straits. It can deploy overwhelming military capability if needed, and has the firm will to use this strength in a showdown over the Taiwan question. The US and Taiwan are trying to create an illusion that a democratic Taiwan won't accept unification in any form and that the US is open to using its military prowess to defend the island. Sending a US Air Force cargo plane is edging near to the bottom line of the mainland, and is an attempt to deter the mainland and disturb people's clear understanding of the region.
Since the US has moved to the step of landing a military cargo plane in Taiwan island, escalating the situation to a tipping point of military action, each step they take may trigger military friction and confrontation. They must understand the mainland is much better prepared for this kind of clash, both in terms of real action and willpower.
We advise the US and the island of Taiwan not to misjudge the situation and not to underestimate our determination and will to punish their provocation. They must be prepared to face a sudden blow.

Love, a 48-year-old actress who refers to herself on Twitter as a “conservative pornstar” and contributor to the right-wing website the Federalist, claimed to have been thrown out of the conference on Saturday following complaints by other conservatives.
The star took pictures at the conference wearing a VIP pass before she was emailed by Turning Point USA to say her invitation had been revoked. Love protested Turning Point USA’s decision in a series of posts on Twitter, which she published in between explicit photos of her naked body.
“I was not there representing my profession. I was there as a citizen to be around other conservatives,” the pornstar argued.
Love was defended by several American conservatives and fans of her work, with one interracial pornography account calling on “every American who believes in Faith & Freedom to stand with @brandi_love.”
“I'm disappointed that @TPUSA kicked out @brandi_love for no reason whatsoever,” protested Ben Domenech, co-founder of the Federalist and husband of conservative television star Meghan McCain. “She's a Florida conservative businesswoman who loves America. The right has an opportunity to be the big tent party. Don't be a bunch of prudes.”
