Surgeon general: Renewed mask mandates in L.A. County, elsewhere 'very reasonable'

 

July 18 (UPI) – Surgeon General Vivek Murthy on Sunday said it was "very reasonable" for local officials to reestablish COVID-19 restrictions as cases are on the rise throughout the United States.

 

Appearing on ABC News' This Week, Murthy acknowledged that the United States is seeing an increase in cases "particularly among the unvaccinated in many parts of the country" as Los Angeles County reinstated indoor mask mandates beginning Sunday.

 

Murthy said he was "deeply concerned" about the state of vaccinations in the United States.

 

"We've made so much progress over this past year, but what I worry about are those that we still have – millions of people in our country who are not vaccinated," he said.

 

In an interview with Fox News Sunday, Murthy said he has "been in dialogue with a number of technology companies in good faith efforts" after issuing an advisory on Thursday that COVID-19 misinformation, particularly on social media and elsewhere online, is "a public threat."

 

"This is about the health of Americans and the reality is that misinformation is still spreading like wildfire in our country, aided and abetted by technology platforms," he said.

 

Murthy's comments came after President Joe Biden said platforms such as Facebook are "killing people" by allowing misinformation to spread, prompting the social media giant to respond that "Facebook is helping save lives" by providing tools to help Americans locate vaccines.

 

The surgeon general said Sunday that the government has a role in addressing misinformation and "investing in research" to learn how it's affecting Americans while acknowledging that platforms such as Facebook may have good intentions but can still fail to properly combat misinformation.

 

"Intention is good, but at the end of the day it doesn't save the life of somebody who is misled by misinformation on these sites, who didn't get vaccinated, who got sick and lost their life as a result," Murthy said."I'm asking these companies to step up and take responsibility for what's happening on their side. I'm asking them to look out for the people across this country whose lives depend on having access to accurate information."

MSM Begins Prepping the Public for More Restrictions in the U.S.

 

The mainstream media is now attempting to prepare the public to accept more restrictions and possibly another lockdown as the “delta variant” surges and not enough are willing to get injected with the experimental gene therapy. The key to “winning the race” against the spread of the “delta variant” is getting more Americans “vaccinated,” according to mainstream media.

 

The media and government desperately want you to believe that you need this shot. They are pulling out all the stops and the underlying tone is to expect more restrictions if they don’t get their way. We know the censorship campaign has ramped up lately and the push to get this propaganda out has increased.

 

Here’s a stat they are trying to push with no evidence. I have yet to see any documentation proving this and I have been looking. This appears to be a bald-faced lie as of right now, and they expect it to be accepted as truth. The only people spewing this garbage are tyrants and their mainstream media puppets.

 

Much of the data now shows that more than 99% of people currently hospitalized with Covid-19 are unvaccinated, Collins said. That means those who are vaccinated have enough protection that they aren’t getting severely ill, Collins said. –CNN

 

Why would they lie about that? It’s simple:

 

Collins said he hopes the American public will pay attention to the data and decide that getting vaccinated is the safe and smart thing to do.

 

“I hope people will hear this, right now listening to this: If you are on the fence about whether vaccination is going to help you, listen to those numbers,” Collins said. “Why are we waiting folks? Let’s roll up our sleeves if we haven’t already done so.” –CNN

 

There you have it. The punishments will begin at some point for those still refusing this shot. Stay prepared and stand firm. They can’t convince half of the country to take this thing, and that’s a huge number. It is obvious at this point that the war for our minds is failing as they ramp up tactics that no longer work on those who understand what’s really going on.

Nikole Hannah-Jones said Cuba is among 'most equal' countries because of socialism

 

1619 Project writer Nikole Hannah-Jones said in a podcast that she believes Cuba is the most equal country in the Western hemisphere and could serve as a model for its integration agenda.

 

In a 2019 podcast with Ezra Klein of Vox and The New York Times, Hannah-Jones was asked whether there were candidates or places that she thought had a "viable and sufficiently ambitious integration agenda."

 

Hannah-Jones responded that while she is not an expert on race relations internationally, she believed the most "equal" and "multiracial" country in the Western hemisphere is Cuba, which she attributed to socialism.

 

"The most equal multi-racial country in our hemisphere, it would be Cuba," Hannah-Jones said, as reported by the publication. "Cuba has the least inequality between Black and white people anyplace really in the hemisphere. I mean, the Caribbean, most of the Caribbean it's hard to count because the White population in a lot of those countries is very, very small. A lot of those countries are run by Black folks. But in places that are truly at least biracial countries, Cuba actually has the least inequality. And that's largely due to socialism—which I'm sure no one wants to hear."

 

As reported by The National Pulse, Hannah-Jones also wrote an op-ed published by The Oregonian that was posted in 2008, in which she noted that there are many overlooked accomplishments in the country, including a very high literacy rate, a low HIV infection rate and a "model" universal health care system.

 

In the article, she also wrote that the Cuban revolution led to the "end of codified racism" and brought about universal education and access to jobs for Black Cubans.

 

The 1619 Project is a project spearheaded by The New York Times that delves into the effects of slavery on U.S. history. It was led by Hannah-Jones, who is a Pulitzer Prize winning writer and a professor at Howard University.
