Ok, she (Osbourne) died at her DESK, which makes sense as a detective working on a crime.

 

The other one seems to be a patrol officer, who they gave detective status after she died.

Yes, and sometimes retired detectives are brought back in for 'speciality' investigations they

might have an interest or speciality working in.

This would have been a high profile investigation and maybe they wanted someone VERY experienced to investigate.

They made copies of everything, and turned over the emails to the FBI, and kept the sexting crimes to continue investigating.

I think we need to look at retired detectives at NYPD too.
